The first home loss United suffer at home this season. And the first to Villa at Old Trafford in 26 years.

Sir Alex Ferguson put Park Ji Sung in the starting line up, leaving Berba and Owen on the bench. Remains a  mystery why he wanted to do that. Maybe he was attempting to establish a good chemistry in our 4-5-1 system and hone Rooney’s skills as a lone striker? But if thats so, then why in this dangerous fixture? With a makeshift defence of Brown and Vidic and Darren “I own the frikkin midfield” Fletcher at right back, it was always going to be a difficult fixture, but it might have been difficult to acknowledge that, given the manner of our victories against West Ham and Wolfsburg.

So with a basically 4-5-1 setup and Giggs moving as supporting striker occasionally, it was still looking good for us. It looked like we could capitalize on the 2 dropped points by Chelsea. But it was all undone by the goal that came at a very crucial time for Villa at the hands of Agbonlahor. A deserved goal for Villa.

Would we have been better off with Carrick and Vidic at the centre of our defence, and Brown at right back? It was vital to contain Ashley Young, and maybe we underestimated the chances of Fletcher being dominated by Young.

But we made a strong comeback and poured forward, with Giggs and Rooney disappointingly missing some chances, and more notably, Rooney belting the ball goalward, only to rattle the crossbar. Frustrating.

After half time, it was expected that United would dominate, and Villa would defend in numbers. And that is, pretty much, what happened. Only, we never equalized. Why was Giggs brought off at half time? He was putting in great efforts and almost equalized before the break. Another injury? Hope not.

Too many questions, and not many answers, as of now. The story of the second half was pretty much the same throughout. United attacked. It was snuffed out. And again regained possession. But Villa literally had 8 men in their D whenever the ball got near, and again it was snuffed out.

And it ended with just 3 minutes of added time, the only complaint I can make of the Match officials. It was too less! There were too many interruptions in the second half and though 5 minutes would have been too much, 4 would have been less too. But still, we could have settled for 4.

The other decision, of a Yellow for a dive by Rooney, I will not argue. There was no contact, and the booking was warranted in every way. But that doesn’t mean Wazza was trying to fool the ref. He never made any appeal for a penalty. He could have tripped, he could’ve anticipated a tackle and gone off balance, or maybe it was a blatant dive. But knowing him, I know most would rightfully agree with me that he wouldn’t have celebrated, even if a penalty was wrongfully given.

But in a way, I’m glad of one thing atleast. If we would have lost when Chelsea would have won, It would have been much worse. Three points is still reaching distance. And there seems to be some invisible force at work against Chelsea. Even in its absence, there will be ACON to cheer us on to title glory.

On the bright side, now we go on a run of relatively easy fixtures in the league, facing the likes of Birmingham, Burnley, Hull City(twice), Wolverhampton and Fulham till January 26th. Thats not to undermine those teams, but they’re relatively easy games. And it coincides with the christmas, new year and ACON time. Thats the period when we have so often lifted ourselves to the top of the table for good. Lets hope its the same this time around!

Owh, what a sad thing to watch Man U lose to Chelsea by a goal which shouldnt be allowed.. even after conquering the match on the 2nd half, but still the much needed goal was out of sight.. hmm.. owh well, we still have a long season to enjoy. Glory glory Man United!!

Nevertheless,  Ferguson had only himself to blame after tactical mistakes were made against such quality team. How can he possibly put anderson against Chelsea knowing that he cannot perform above par?? Cant he remember when IT WAS ANDERSON’S FAULT for the 1st goal they conceeded against Barcelona and how badly he played against big teams? Thus, when I saw the formation and the line up Ferguson used against Chels, deep down I knew there would be a big problem in midfield and it was proven indeed. Man U was catching Chelsea’s shadow in the 1st half especially in midfield (with anderson at fault of course) and Giggs was not at his best (he performed very well in this season, thumbs up to him!). Valencia also looks like he didnt know what to do to break chelsea’s wall. In 2nd half, they increased their tempo and started to attack but yet, no goal until the controversy goal scored by anelka(originally claimed by John Terry).

What was driving me mad was when he took until the 85th minutes to put Owen in. Owh man, Owen should has been in starting line up or at the very least, at the start of 2nd half. A man with pace and good reading of the game, equipped with deadly finish inside penalty box, Owen is the predator Man U need to put the ball behind Cech. I bet most of us still remember the cool finishing that end up to be the winning goal for Man U against man city; scored by him. Ferguson should start to put more faith in players that he signed, Owen(awesome goalscorer) and Obertan(he was fast!!).

Not to worry or anything, let us enjoy a season of entertaining football…

Ideamer for Android r0.1, Release Notes

I’m proud the announce the first release of the Ideamer application to the Android 1.6 mobile devices (API 4).

This release is quite simple and complies to my first demands from such an application. The application is available in the Android Market.

All of the data that is gathered in this release is private and kept locally on the device.

In future releases there might be some new features.

• Progress and manage your ideas as the time pass. Hopefully you will implement some of them.

In this release the ideas are private and saved only on your local device database.

This release is available for installation only from the Android Market application.

No upgrades are needed.

La Roma fa una bruttissima figura contro l’ultima in classifica, perdendo grazie ad una rete di Tavano.

La gara

Le formazioni: Solito schema con Faty dietro le punte Menez e Vucinic. Per il Livorno comandato dall’appena arrivato Cosmi, solo Tavano in attacco con Candreva a sostegno.

Il primo tempo: Partita decisamente sottotono da parte di entrambe le squadre. Accettabile per il Livorno che non ha nulla da perdere; inaccettabile per la Roma che deve recuperare terreno. Una sola occasione per la Roma con Perrotta. Al ‘40 doccia fredda per la Roma che incassa l’ennesima rete della stagione, stavolta firmata dall’ex Tavano. Per lui primo gol quest’anno.

Il secondo tempo: Entra Guberti per Menez per scelta tecnica. In soli 2 minuti due buonissime occasioni per la Roma ma non vanno in porto. Guberti è quello più in forma ma viene servito poche volte nel corso del secondo tempo. Vucinic ha un’occasione d’oro praticamente dentro la porta ma cicca clamorosamente il pallone. Ancora Vucinic che però stavolta è sfortunato e colpisce il palo. Entra anche Julio Baptista per Faty e Pit per Taddei. Solo Roma ma i tiri vanno tutti fuori.
Il Livorno rimane in 10: il portiere De Lucia ritarda la battuta del fallo di fondo e viene ammonito e visibilmente stizzito calcia il pallone in aria e viene ammonito per la seconda volta e quindi espulso.
Ci prova Julio Baptista su punizione ma finisce di pochissimo sul fondo. Anche Cassetti ma il tiro finisce fuori. A fine gara Perrotta ha una buona occasione ma Benussi fa un super intervento con una mano.
Fischi per la compagine giallorossa, prima vittoria per il Livorno, primo gol per Tavano, primi 3 punti per Cosmi.

Pro & Contro

Pro: Faccio difficoltà a trovare una cosa a favore nella Roma.
Contro: Partita inguardabile, senza voglia, senza palle. Ranieri si affida al turnover inserendo Faty trequartista. Nessuno ha capito il senso di questa mossa. Lui lo capisce solo al 25′. Poi fa entrare Pit… Ricordiamo che in tribuna (ma forse neanche lì) c’è Cicinho, che non sarà un fenomeno ma meglio di Pit… De Rossi sbaglia tutto. Doni poteva fare meglio al gol. Vucinic irritante e invalutabile. I gol mangiati oggi non meritano commenti, anche perchè ogni commento sarebbe superfluo.
