Attempted to clean up the nubs a little but did a really bad job XD Most of the time i end up digging in when scrapping with the hobby knife ^^;; This time i also used the file a lot to sand down the numbs in a different approach. It worked really well in most cases but there were some errors…

A classic 01, kindly sent to me by @martyj21, spotted from a bus in Camden. I can only speculate that “Wearite” is, or perhaps was, a retailer of clothing. That you wear. The Regatta logo beneath the sign, I assume, refers to a brand of attire oft-favoured by the yachting set. A common sight in NW1.

So here I am, sitting in a small little Starbucks right smack in the middle of Queen Street and all I gotta say is I love it.

You know you’re in Toronto when you’re walking down the street and half the people you see are Chinese. Again, I love it! I mean, shouldn’t every culture be incorporated into the city in which they live, it’s only fair, and when it happens it’s awesome.

Day two of the one-week vacation is pretty legit and I can’t wait to see what’s to come. Here’s a recap of what happened on day one:

- I awoke in a cute, little apartment in Hamilton, Ontario where my sister (Flavia) prepared me for the day with a chicken sandwich and a greek salad for brunch.
- Wherefrom Flavia and I travelled to Coffee Culture for a coffee and free wireless internet, and of course to our luck, the wireless wasn’t working there, so, we journeyed to Williams Coffee, and to our luck we had free internet. We stayed there for hours before heading over to Flavia’s fiances place (Vince) and therefrom I caught the 7:30 GO-Bus to the big city of Toronto!
- Upon arriving I awaited on another sister of mine (Nadia) to get me. When she arrived we headed out to her place to watch a movie.

Advice From Matt Dragos

If you’re stuck in a movie store and have no idea what to rent for the night, let me tell you, don’t rent Watchmen. It’s such a brutal movie and I would give it 1 of 5 stars. The plot line was dumb, the intensity was non-impressive and the length was unbearable!

So then day two began like any normal day; get up, shower, eat, head out. Well.. maybe not so normal, I did not eat. I headed out to Nadia’s work and ate a sweet meal there: jalapeno wrap, with spicy chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato with jalapeno mayo and chipotle sauce. It was good and I guess a Texas thing?

After grabbing some brunch it was time to journey Toronto on my own. So with confidence, I headed out on Queen street looking for a Starbucks to write my next blog in. All I can say is the streets of Toronto amaze me! I love the diversity and culture packed in just a little dot, when viewed from what we call, earth. Even right now, sitting in Starbucks, I can look around the store and see so many different types of people. I see; men, woman, black, white, different cultures and styles, a priest and a homeless man. I LOVE IT!

But on my way to this cafe, I definitely journeyed through some interesting stores. I checked out Steve’s Music Store and saw some of the sweetest bass guitars! I travelled past the condom shack and stopped and debated if I should walk in or not, which I didn’t! And of course found the Starbucks I was looking for

So remember earlier in the post when I said my sister Flavia’s fiance, well, yup, she’s engaged, finally! It’s awesome, I’m so stoked for her and Vince. Yup, Vince DelMonte, fitness expert! (Check him out in the links below). Anyway, she’s been waiting to get married for years, and finally at 29, it happened and I’m sure that she can say it was well worth the wait. The wedding is planned for June 26, 2010 and it should be a beautiful wedding! I can’t wait. I most definitely approve of the one and only Vince DelMonte.

I think it’s only fair  to mention the guys I respect most cause being away I miss them! The three best friends; Scott, Ty & Derek! I love you guys and miss you guys so much! Can’t wait to be back at the end of this week and chill with you guys! I spend so much time with these dudes. I can’t even begin to describe how much I love this guys, they’re always there for me, waiting patiently for me when I’m hurting or in a bad mood. These guys have done so much for me and I’ve definitely can’t ask for better friends that’s for sure! Love you guys!

So I think this ends my blog, seeing as Starbucks is only giving me two hours to use their internet and I’m almost out of time!
What I’ve got planned for tonight is to head over to my sister, Nadia’s friends place for dinner. I heard he’s going to be making us a sweet dinner and I’m pretty stoked to chomp this meal down. After that, we’ll see what happens, I mean we’re in the city right!

Stay tuned tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after, and three days from now for more blogs. I’ll try to get some videos up here but it’s pretty hard to record in the middle of a Starbucks!

Me sedujo su inmenso universo fotográfico.

Es el contacto que tengo en Flickr con más cantidad de álbumes. Él no para nunca.

Esta historia la he contado ya varias veces. Ahora toca compartirla con el mundo.

Hace varios meses dando una vueltita por la larga lista de grupos lomo que tengo en el flickr encontré a alguien. Ahora me doy cuenta que fue por casualidad. No suele él colgar sus fotos en muchos grupos. Simplemente teníamos que encontrarnos.

En ese grupo que no recuerdo cuál es, de entre 12 lomos me fijé en la de él.

Fue ésta. En cuanto la vi fui directa a la estrellita fuccia para ponerle mi favorito.

Luego me entró la intriga. Miré y miré. Y cada cual me gustaba más. Un album lomo que no pude evitar ver desde la primera hasta la última imagen. Hasta que encontré una en particular. Suele ser foto típica que se hace de “esa” playa desde “ese” mirador. Fue el momento, momentazo más bien. Fue cuando me dí cuenta que era de aquí y que mi Holga multicolor no era la única en la isla… y eso me gustaba mucho!!

Comenta por aquí, comenta por allá. Unos cuantos mensajes y una buena noche en la capital, me dije ¡Míralo ahí!. Me acerqué…¡Buenas caballero! Ahí empezó todo!

Él es Encarneviva.

No puede evitar ser un retratista empedernido. Fue eso lo que me cautivó de sus fotos. Sabe captar la esencia de cada alma.

Tampoco puede evitar estar presente en todo evento que se precie. A él le gusta la noche y todos sus momentos.

Es de los fotógrafos que hace un trato de la digital como si de una analógica se tratara. Y eso me encanta. Su estilo es inconfundible. Las fotos Encarneviva se reconocen fácilmente. Para mí, referente de la fotografía en Canarias.

Tiene en su poder muchas cámaras, entre ellas varias Lomos. Holga, Diana, Lca, actionsampler…¿me olvido de alguna? . Las tiene hace mucho. En realidad nunca las dejó de lado. Ahora le ha vuelto el gusanillo y no las suelta.

Eng und stickig ist es in der SBahn raus zur Station Frankenstadion, vor dem Spiel – der Blick aus dem Wagon schweift über die Massen, die zum Stadion strömen. Immer noch ungewöhnlich mild für einen November. Das Max Morlock Stadion erhebt sich groß und eindrucksvoll – die Sicht vom Block 2 aus auf das Spielfeld wunderbar – eigentlich steht doch einem Fußballfest nichts im Weg. Immerhin hat Freiburg die Woche vorher gegen Bremen mächtig Federn lassen müssen. Das was dann folgt beschreibt die lokale Presse am nächsten Tag als dürftige und ereignislose Partie. Der glubb verliert. So unspektakulär wie man nur verlieren kann, 0:1 daheim. In der ersten Viertelstunde fällt das Tor, danach versuchen sie es alle mal (4 Stürmer sind beim glubb am Schluß auf dem Platz) – es trifft keiner.

So liegt, wie so oft, Freude und Elend nah beeinander. Wenn man lange Zeit nicht mehr live dabei war, nimmt man jedes Ergebnis hin, glücklich darüber, mal wieder live dabei zu sein. Wenn heute Leverkusen nicht patzt, endet dieser Spieltag nur mit einem blauen Auge… und in der nächsten Woche, gegen die Wand in Dortmund gibt es, wie bei so vielen Spielen in dieser Saison, keine Ausreden mehr.

Microsoft did something they haven’t done for a while, in fact for ever, Windows Vista wasn’t even laying a bit of dust and, bam!, here’s this beta of a new operating system and then, boom, you’ve got Windows 7 released. So, whats the crack, is it good, worth it, gonna be a turn around for the Vista pain we’ve all shared? These are the main questions I intend to answer in this brief overview of Microsoft’s latest offering to the Windows world.

Should I upgrade to Windows 7
This is where we get to the Microsoft dilemma. For some reason Microsoft have this OS they just simply can’t get rid off, of course I’m talking about XP. Microsoft tried with Vista and failed quite badly, especially with compatibility involving drivers, which even Ballmer (Microsoft CEO) admitted. This is why this question is hard to answer so I have to section it out.
XP users:No. Yes, believe it or not I still don’t think Windows 7 is worth it for XP users. Why? Well put it this way, Windows 7 (Business and Ultimate) have an added compatibility feature called ‘XP Mode’, so the big question is, do you want to pay hundreds of £/$ on an operating system thats more than likely going to have to emulate the software you’ve been using. Don’t get me wrong, Windows 7 offers some good offerings, but nothing that can’t be added to XP with 3rd party software.
Vista users:Hell yeh! If you’re on Windows Vista, or been on Vista. Windows Vista did something amazing, instead of promoting Microsoft and boosting the love at Microsoft, it boosted the love for alternate options like Mac OSX and Linux, Microsoft are prob the only ones who’ll manage to do that! If you’ve gone through the moodswings of Windows Vista you deserve to put 7 on your machine thats been battling through it all with ya, personally it should be free for Vista users as compensation if you ask me.

Windows 7 has many new features which are finally gonna change the way you use Windows. Windows 7 now features some major ‘Aero‘ enhancements, in fact alot. And, I’ve got to admit they really improve the way you use Windows. Aero Snap to easily have two windows in view at the same, which is handy, the method can also be used to maximise the windows, I know, rather neat. Other features include Aero Shake, which easily allows on window to be the centre of attention and get rid of the rest temporarily, then, shake, and their back, also very useful. You’ll find yourself trying to do these features more or less all the time.
The Explorer in Windows 7 also has some great enhancements, basically fixing the Vista one, things are laid out easily and it makes using it alot more easier. It also features more sharing options. So, I know what you’re thinking, its Vista with a few appearance changes, oh no. Windows 7 is alot more than (a bit more of) a pretty face it also has a few hidden enhancements, Action Center replaces Windows Security Center improving in-built security which is always a good thing, Windows Media Center has a new look (like a green Zune) which is a big more slick than before, and, oh yes, that dock … err… I mean, ‘Windows Taskbar’. Windows Taskbar allows you to see only your program icon nice and big, but also interact with the programs by either right clicking or view (if multiple windows open) by hovering over, a new Aero feature that. It also allows you to “pin” programs to the taskbar for future quicklaunch, all these features do sound familiar don’t they? You maybe thinking Windows Sidebar is no more, but no, now simply referred to as ‘Gadgets’, all the so-called sidebar stuff now can be put anywhere on your desktop, but also if you add it to where the sidebar would be they click in to place, which is nice. Windows 7 also has added touchscreen support, useful for users on Tablets. Improvements have been added to the Start menu as well, one nice add-on is the fact that ‘Shut Down’ is now one button and not hidden behind an arrow. Also it includes a feature which allows you to open, for example, older visited pages for Internet Explorer, or documents for ‘Word’, nice that. I normally wouldn’t mention a new version of Media Player, but Windows Media Player 12 has some nice new additions, unfortunately WMP11 looked better, but it now supports ‘.mp4′ which is nice. It also comes with IE8 …. (bring on the sarcastic woo). Windows classic applications such as WordPad and Paint get a very nice update, including the look first seen in Office ‘07 and Paint is now not a bad program at all for image editing and creating with the new brush options.
But I think the biggest Pro we can give Windows 7 is, the release version is, well, actually rather stable.

Pros
1. Nice update if your a Vista user
2. Very stable, keep that one up for future releases please Microsoft
3. Windows Media Center alot clearer and helpful
4. WMP12 has new codec, most importantly H.264
5. Improved Account Control
6. Very useful Aero features / Aero Shake Aero Snap etc
7. New taskbar helps with multiple programs running and program management.
8. Updated Paint and Wordpad look and feel, and features. Finally
9. Gadgets no more stuck to one side of the desktop.
10. New Explorer look and feel.
11. Added compatibility
12. DirectX 12 (For all you gamers out there)
13. Easier to disable UAC << Like that one

Cons
1. Not enough to make XP users upgrade
2. Most old software still rely on ‘XP Mode’.
3. Whilst the taskbar is nice, still has the same UI from back in Windows 95.
4. Very expensive for the small amount of differences with Vista
5. Why still 6 versions.
6. Added Security? Then why does it still need virus protection
7. Same system requirements than Vista
8. Definitely not enough to make new Mac users switch back.
9. A bit too-like Vista

Overview
Windows 7 is a nice upgrade and adds many features that are not found in previous versions of Windows. Whilst these features are useful, I do fail to see many features that would put me first in the queue for Windows 7. Windows 7 is a must-have however for Vista users as it, not only makes using the computer better but XP Mode will make those old dusty apps will finally run on that recently bought computer.
- Some nice additions, but nothing that appeals to XP or recent switches thanks to Vista.

entram numa espécie de sótão, com mínimos barulhos pra observar, lá embaixo, os corpos se trombando uns nos outros, uma fome sem desejo / estraçalham os vivos que chegam, incautos, em busca de abrigo

os meninos descem de dois em dois, quando preciso, pegam latas de ervilha e de milho, no dia em que um deles derruba um garfo lá embaixo / os zumbis percebem queda e movimento, mas não olham para cima

os guris não sabem disso, no entanto. porque se esconderam no fundo do escuro e esperaram até o fim da surpresa

Lomo que hice para la expo Canarias at the hotel´09. En Tarragona comenzó la serie. El brazo es de Cha B.

En los baños de la Sala el Cau. No pude evitar hacerla. El “excusado” más antiguo donde he tenido el placer de…….jajaja.

Los lomolitos presumen de ser las cámaras lomográficas más sencillas. Las que menos complicaciones tienen.

La particularidad que tienen es el de poseer un filtro de color en su flash integrado. Verde, rojo, azul o amarillo. Quizá te apetezca darle un toque de color específico a tus mejores momentos. Para eso están ellas.

Para ponerla en acción sólo necesitarás una pila (de las de toda la vida), un carrete de 35mm y un dedo ágil!!

Su apariencia se distingue del resto de cámaras “desechables”. Está adornada con un simpático loro lomo-adicto y vestida de papel de colores para que no te confundas nunca qué cámara estás usando y de qué color es su filtro jajaj.

Es pequeña, ligera, de plástico (of course) ideal para llevarla en y a cualquier lado…y perfecta para usarla tanto de día como de noche.

Para tener en cuenta:

• En cada lomolito puedes usar el flash de color o el blanco. Solo tendrás que girar el gel de color del flash hacia abajo. (un dibujo te lo explica bien en la cámara)
• En su frontal hay un botón negro que al apretarlo se activa el flash. Sólo debes esperar unos segundos a que se encienda una lucecilla para tenerla a punto.
• El flash funciona bien a una distancia de 0,8 a 3 metros de distancia.
• Supuestamente es como una cámara desechable. Tendrías que llevar la cámara entera al laboratorio fotográfico cuando quisieras revelar el carrete. Y aquí viene el Truco: si la miras de frente, en su lateral derecho si rompes un poco el papel que le recubre, podrás descubrir una pestaña. Ella te permitirá reutilizarla, todas las veces que quieras. Podrás abrirla para recargar la cámara con carretes. Así que de desechable tiene poco!!

Lo positivo:

• Pesa poco. Siempre la podrás llevar encima.
• Fácil de usar.
• Simpática. Distinta a las desechables que venden en los laboratorios. Por lo tanto, sorprenderás.
• Puedes usar los dos filtros. Color y blanco.
• Desechable pero reutilizable.
• Es la cámara lomográfica más barata. Ideal para principiantes que no se aventuran con otras de las “grandes” y “quieren probar”.
• Puedes comprar el color que más te guste.
• No te tendrás que preocupar por detalles técnicos. Simplemente por saber lo qué quieres fotografiar y disparar!

Lo negativo:

• Sus filtros de colores te seducen pero seguramente después te lleves una pequeña “decepción”. Quizá esperes una foto super tintada del color del filtro, pero no es así en todos los casos. Tengo los 4 lomolitos y para mí la mejor que funciona es la roja. Es en la que más se nota el color en la foto. Las otra 3 apenas tintan. Al menos así me ha pasado a mí.
• Si la usas mucho y le das caña puede que pierdas el gel de color que cubre el flitro. Yo he tenido que hacer el apaño de pegarlos con cinta adhesiva (celo).
• Es bastante limitada. No te da opción a experimentar tanto como con otras cámaras lomo. Su sencillez a veces es una de sus desventajas.
• Al tener solo un filtro de color puede llegar a cansar. Tendrás 36 fotos de un mismo color ( a no ser que ruedes el filtro y las saques con el flash blanco normal).
• Pierden un poco el encanto cuando tienes otras cámaras lomográficas. Puede que acaben por no usarse, en el trastero o en la repisa donde tienes las cámaras.

Pronto…todos los truquillos que puedes hacer con las lomolitos.

…de lo qué es una Lomo??

Me he puesto a “investigar” y hay muchas entradas de blog sobre este tema.

Sobre qué es la Lomografía, cuál es su historia, cómo nacieron, etc etc.

Que si los estudiantes de Viena, que si todo fue por casualidades de la vida (que raro jajaj), la sociedad lomográfica más tarde, las 10 famosas reglas……Un relato bonito para contar pero ya lo han hecho muchos. Me repetiría bastante la verdad. Mejor te dejo este LINK y te enteras de todo.

Hay mucho que contar en este caso. Todos los fotógrafos sean de la especialidad que sean, sienten una pasión, como aquellos que son escultores y aman lo que hacen…

Pero los lomógrafos tienen a mi manera de ver, un “puntito” diferente. Están más locos literalmente!! Así de sencillo ;P. En general la fotografía analógica siempre da margen para la experimentación y en el mundo Lomo esto se lleva muchas veces al extremo.

Hay gente que me ha hecho una pregunta en concreto alguna que otra vez, en el Flickr. Y esa es que por qué una Lomo y no otra cámara.

Yo pienso siempre en ese momento que si alguien hace esa pregunta es por que YA se ha fijado en Una y lo que suele pasar después, es la compra.

Si la compras y la pruebas, no la sueltas. Si la sueltas una época y la vuelves a coger, volverás!!

Mais um novo mangá que estou fazendo em parceria com o LcS, Kämpfer. O mangá tem 13 capítulos no inglês, então queremos fazer de tudo para acompanhar ele logo. Mas, ainda nem falei com o Aono sobre o mangá, mais temos que andar rápido… depois explico o porque pra ele ^^. Sem mais demora… o link provisório do novo mangá que estamos fazendo:

Sinopse:

Kämpfer – Aquele que existe para lutar. Qualquer pessoa escolhida para ser uma Kämpfer será forçado(a) a lutar até a morte. Nosso herói, Natsuru-san, acordou se pela manhã e percebeu que tinha se tornado uma Kämpfer. Só tem uma coisa no que ele mudou: ele agora é ela!
