9.) Don’t worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning
this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but
is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking ‘What’s

10 Things I Love

1 ♥ Street art/graffiti. Bristol has bags full of it, but more of the cool stuff, rather than just tags.

2 ♥ Starbucks’ Toffee Nut Latte. Now, see, for the last few years, around Christmas time, I’ve been a Gingerbread Latte kinda gal. This year? I’ve been more adventurous (!) and tried a Toffee Nut one, and I’m hooked.

3 ♥ Christmas shows. They really get you into the Christmas spirit. The one at the beloved theatre company is SO cool this year, and it really deviates from the shows they normally put on at Christmas, I was pleasantly surprised and entertained!

4 ♥ Leg warmers. I think, deep down, there’s a little part of me that will always be that little girl who wanted to be a dancer, and leg warmers, although they’re for keeping my ankles and lower legs warm, well, they do bring to mind a picture of ballet dancers…or, Fame/Flashdance/take your pick!

5 ♥ Petticoats. I am now the proud owner of a Vivien of Holloway dress, which was my birthday present from my parents (they got me a voucher for my birthday, back in June, but I didn’t actually get the dress until early this month!). With these kind of dresses, a petticoat is essential, as it gives the dress a bit more of a va-va-vroom factor! I am so looking forward to wearing my dress over Christmas/New Year!

6 ♥ Christmas Markets. They’re magical. Really, truly. Definitely one of the things that puts my mind and heart in the right place, all ready for Christmas.

7 ♥ Crafty Christmas present ideas. I’ve got a few in the pipeline that I’m going to set about making tomorrow and Saturday, sure, a little last minute, but the last week or so have been a lot more busy than I had expected, so now I’ve got to cram it all into the next couple of days. Fun times!

8 ♥ Train journeys. Over the last week, I’ve been on trains to places that I’ve not been to before – Bristol and Oxford. The journey is fun, especially when it’s to the unknown. I managed to get some pretty snazzy train pictures too…

9 ♥ Chunky cardigans. I recently got a pretty, chunky knitted cardigan, and I love it. These cold days were made for chunky cardigans and jumpers.

10 ♥ Wrapping everything up with a bow on top. Enough said!

10 Things I Love

1 ♥ Doc Martens. I’ve wanted a pair for years and years, yet I’ve not gotten round to getting them. Think one contributor to that is the fact that they are rather expensive, especially for boots that you’ll probably wear and tear a lot…hmm. They are lovely though…one day…

2 ♥ Scrapbooking/journaling. There’s a kind of simple pleasure to be had from it; you find yourself relaxing, and creating a page that reflects how you were feeling at that point. It’s all good.

3 ♥ Red lipstick. I love red lipstick, and whenever I wear it, I can feel people looking. Not in a bad, or vain way, but when you can feel people noticing you, well, it does give you a bit of a boost. I love the way I feel when I wear red lipstick, and it gives my outfit a bit of a wham factor!

4 ♥ U2′s Beautiful Day. It’s such a feel-good, happy song! Give it a listen, and watch the video; if it doesn’t make you feel a little happy, then I’ll eat my words!

5 ♥ Cool mugs. If you haven’t already noticed, I have quite a thing for tea, coffee and hot chocolate…and I love them even more when they come in cool mugs! I’m loving these ones, and I’d love a mug with a moustache on one, and a lipstick print on another, matching mugs. Mmmhmm…Santa Baby…?

6 ♥ Good thoughts. After this year,  and having to move on from certain people (I’d even go as far as to say toxic friendships!), I’ve learnt to harness the power of good thoughts. Good thoughts can turn a bad day into a good day. Yes, it can. I’ve also learnt not to hold a grudge, to let go; so, I’m not thinking badly of others anymore, instead, I’m wishing them the best.

7 ♥ The act of making hot chocolate/tea/coffee. It means you have to take a few minutes out, to make it, and then you get to have 10 or so minutes to drink it. It’s like a ritual. And, oh boy, it’s therapeutic. Sure, sometimes I love it if they’re made for me…but I do like the act of making them myself.

8 ♥ Reflecting. It kinda goes hand in hand with the above; sitting with a cup of whatever drink you choose, and thinking about things, it’s good. Sometimes it is good to look backwards and reflect on things that have happened, reflect on how far you have come, and just become grateful for where you are right now. You’re here, you’re alive, and that is a most glorious thing! Appreciate the fact that you are here, and you get to experience life in all it’s glory, and goriness, it’s not always sunshine and roses, but those times make you appreciate the good times even more. Yes, reflecting is good.

9 ♥ Book dress. Wow. I found this on tumblr, and it looks amazing, don’t you think?

10 ♥ Not growing up…at least…not fully. Sure, you have to be an adult sometimes, like when you’re in a bank, in a business meeting, and so on…but remember that it is okay to be childish and immature sometimes! When I’m with some of my closest friends, I go a little loopy and mad. I don’t care anymore. It’s the best way to be. All the best people are mad.

I love popping over to her blog to see the latest posts, and I often come away feeling really inspired. 2 ♥ Enjoying the Small Things – Kelle Hampton’s blog is one that I fell in love with earlier this year, and I haven’t looked back. She’s in the proud Mummy blogger category, but, so what? She takes beautiful photographs of her two girls, and she’s got a real happy, positive attitude to everything, which I really like. Yes, some people may say it’s a bit too sweet and put-on, but I honestly believe that it’s just the way she is; and, hell, what’s wrong with sprinkling a bit of glitter and unicorns across your everyday life? The other day she threw a great party for the little girls she knows…and I love the results: Party at the North Pole.

3 ♥ Hello Giggles – this is an adorable blog, and as I have a small obsession with Zooey Deschanel at the moment, I was over the moon to discover that she has a blog that she created with her friends! Here’s a post that I love, and I had no idea about this, so will have to get my butt in gear and do some small things to put a smile on some of my closest friends’ faces – Second Annual Bestie Day.

4 ♥ {dear friend} – here’s one of those blogs that I stumbled upon whilst roaming the land of blogs…you know, you get clicking, click on links, click on comments…one thing leads to another, and before you know it, you land at a blog that you really love; know where I’m coming from? Well, that’s how I came across this blog, and I love it! And here’s one of her recent posts that I love, about keeping in touch with friends…and how sometimes, you can’t always be top of the class with keeping-up: keeping in touch.

5 ♥ Weesha’s World – now, here’s a blog I truly love. I’ve been following her for as long as I can remember, definitely since the start of my blogging journey, and she’s just such a lovely person! Her blog has evolved into more of a fashion blog, but it is still a great blog. She’s honest and real. And she’s thankful for all who follow her – Thankful.

6 ♥ Promise Tangeman – I love her! She’s such a creative person, and really lovely too. Her blog is full of helpful advice for businesses and creative people, fun photographs and a smattering of DIYs. Definitely one of my favourite blogs at the moment. 10 ♥ Color Me Katie – another blog that I fell in love with earlier this year. I’ve gushed about it before, so I won’t say too much here…but it’s a lovely, colourful, fun blog. Seeing as blue is my favourite colour, I love the title of this post, and the post itself is super cool too: Mr.Blue.

10 Things I Love

1♥ Miniature pegs. I love these things! Above my desk, I have a little, self-made washing line, that I simply use to peg up notes, to-do lists, and the like. I found my pegs in John Lewis about a year ago, but I’ve seen them in other places now; yesterday I bought some more from Tiger, which is such a great shop for quirky small things for the home.

2 ♥ Chalk Boards. I’m loving them at the moment, so much so, that I actually went and bought a little chalk board in Tiger yesterday (I can get a bit carried away in that shop…). However, I really want to make a bigger, cooler one, with a funky picture frame boarder in a bright colour, and chalk board paint.

3 ♥ Zooey Deschanel. I’ve got a bit of an obsession with her at the moment (a healthy obsession, I’d say…). She’s so pretty, and cute, and the films she’s in rock (500 Days of Summer…?). She’s also in a band, She & Him. I adore her hair, and she was my inspiration behind my current hair cut. Basically, I could keep gushing, but I think I’ll shut up right about now.

4 ♥ Fairy lights. They’re the best. I have three sets of fairy lights in my room, and most nights, they are on, and the room is cast in a lovely glow. The twinkly effect they give off is what I love about them the most; and I might put some more up for Christmas!

5 ♥ Big beaded bracelets. I’m much more of a bracelet person, although I am trying to be more adventurous and throw a necklace into the mix every now and then. But most days? Most days I’ll just reach for my bracelets.

6 ♥ Flowers. I’m a little jealous right now, though, as my friend‘s boyfriend got her some flowers the other day, and it just made me nostalgic for the days when the boy would randomly turn up at my house with a bunch of flowers. He doesn’t do it much at all anymore…hint hint! But seriously, flowers are lovely, and they give a room a fresh breath of air. Lovely jubbley.

7 ♥ Bright coloured pens. Another buy from Tiger! If you’ve followed this blog for a while, then you’ll know that I have a bit of a penchant for brightly coloured…anything! Rainbows, cakes, walls, clothes…anything goes. So when I came across a pack of bright pens for £1, well, I couldn’t turn that offer down!

8 ♥ Picture frames. Right, got a bit of a thing for them at the moment, especially since I’m trying to find photography props. I love the idea of photographs with empty picture frames in them; they work well for quirky portraits, and even for fun landscape photographs if you hold the frame up in front of the landscape scene. On the lookout for some good, cheap frames. I found one for £4 in Tiger, but thought I’d keep looking for now. Do post in the comments if you know of any good places to get picture frames.

9 ♥ Pizza! My go-to-food at the moment. Really, really love Papa John’s pizzas…and, of course, the pizzas at Italian restaurants…can’t go wrong.

10 ♥ Crafty Christmas present ideas. So, my friend has been posting lots of inspiration for Christmas ideas, and they’re really good. May try a few myself, and it’s certainly a good way to make a personalised gift, without blowing your bank fund.

Basically it’s the cultural equivalent of ‘back the hell up or don’t even try to mess with me’. To be used when crossing the street, bartering, defending yourself, and in any government agency. This effective tactic transcendes language barriers and should only be used in Latin America. Trying this in any other region of the world might result in a) your arrest, b) getting jumped, or c) getting your car rear ended.

2. Driving/ riding in cars

Have you ever seen the movie ‘Speed’.. well thats the equivalent of traveling by land in South America.  To get anywhere you pretty much have to close your eyes and drive into oncoming traffic, it takes some balls and a fearless attitude but it works every time.  Lanes don’t exisit and lights are optional, being aggressive is the only way you’re going to make it- so buckle up (if there is a seatbelt) and enjoy the adrenaline rush!

3. Chiva’s/ Diablo’s Rojos aka Bad Ass Buses

Take a 1970′s school bus, deck it out with a stripper pole, and paint Rick James on the side and you’ve got the primary form of local transportation! While they may look crazy their owners take great pride in showing their creativity when creating these local treasures.   Really how can you go wrong with Rick James and a Stripper pole?

4. The Men

Fashionable, Suave, Spanish Speakers. Enough said.

5. Fashion Circa 1989

Take a look around, chances are whatever South American city you find yourself in, the late 80′s-90′s are still alive! Leather jackets, shoulder pads, Adidas, light washed jeans, and big jewelry have never left.  In the US, this may come across as hipster and pretentious but not in South America- it simply works. 

5. Local Moonshine: Aguardiente, Seco, etc

Every country has their own version.. but basically the components are all the same: anise flavored, burns going down, and consumption will result in crazy dancing, blacking out, and waking up in a discotheque.

6. Architecture

There is just something to be said about beautiful architecture that includes clay tiles, bold colored exteriors, and buildings with decades of character. 

7. Expressive Language

In some cultures, the use of gestures or expressive language is simply not acceptable. But Latin culture embraces expressive and warm communication: using your hands when you talk, being passionate in your delivery, and  not being afraid to be aggressive.

9. Balanced Work Schedule

American is the land where people work 24/7 are not encouraged to take vacations and where people burn out by the age of 30.. But other countries know the importance of pacing yourself.  Vacations are encouraged, regular work hours are respected, and best of all many people have learned to enjoy their time away from the office.

10. Love of psychoanalysis and Freud!

In every country I have visited in South America, I’ve run into at least one homage to Freud or mental health!

Food is the best thing ever in my life. No matter how creepy my life is, food always be there to entertain me. I am not picky in my selection as long as it taste good, not too salty, not too sweet, not too spicy, not too hot, not too cold, not too…yeah, I’m a bit picky. A bit.

2 ) Sleep

Sleeping is my favorite quality time. I am kinda a busy student and my schedule sometimes is extremely packed especially when I undergo my half-military training. I have like million of things to be accomplished in a day. So when I have a spare time, I prefer to go to bed and have a romantic time with my blanket. I will ignore everything on earth and I even not replying any text or answer the phone. And now I am paying the risk, some of my friends ignore me doubles! -___-

3 ) Singing

I don’t have a good voice like Myriam Fares…but I do love to sing her songs. Her music is the best and very catchy. You know that you can’t resist to move on your body when listening to her songs or any Arabic song. I don’t go to club or any karaoke center, but I do have my own port to make my very own concert. Either in my room or in the shower room. Still I enjoy it a lot. Oh, sometime I realize that I am such a big disturbance in the shower room. I know I just distract people who’s working on the toilet bowl and making them giggling hard to push it out. They just can’t focus!

4 ) Swimming

Whenever I have a free time, I will drag or sometimes forcing my girls to accompany me to the pool. Swimming is one of my favorite sports because I don’t feel icky with the sweats like I do when I go for jog. Swimming is like a therapy to make you calm down and feel relax. It is also can help you to get a good contour for your body. Like seriously, when you go outside the pool, you’ll feel like your body is very light….and your tummy is so damn hungry.

5 ) Facebook

I don’t know why I am so addicted with this social network very much. It’s like a must thing to do in my daily life. A routine. Even though I know no one comment or send me message or anything, I still love to check my page. And sometimes I refreshing it three to four times to check whether there’s something new or not. Lame. But visiting friend’s page and look at the pictures or knowing their updates really make you feel closer to them. Thumbs up Facebook for upgrading people’s part-time job as a pro stalker.

6 ) Friendship bond time

Gathering with my friends is a precious moment to me. Yes we do live together, share the same block, same toilet, same cafe etc… but we are hardly can get along together. We have different schedules and activities, that makes us feel apart. But once in a while when we can hang out together, it is enough to tie up the bond. Sometimes if we’re too far to meet up, phone is the best way to secrete the hormone of “I missed you so muchhhhhhhh” I just did it yesterday with my best friend Suhani.

7 ) Taking pictures

…of everything. I love to take pictures and acting like a pro on the road. It’s fun playing around with your camera and snap beautiful moments that is happening around you. Acting like knowing so much about the right angels to take picture is also cool. LOL. Sometimes it makes you feel gahhhh.

8 ) Listen to music through earphone

and it is freaking out loud. I usually open to the maximum level as if anyone called me, I wouldn’t be notice them. Okay, I know it is not good for my ear and blablabla. But. It is kinda amazing to hear the music so loudly as we’re entering another new world and escape with the problems that is accumulated in our reality life. It’s really makes me rising.

9 ) Shawls

I buy shawls base on color, fabrics and size. I have many shawls in my closet and still counting to add in because I am so addicted with shawls. I just buy randomly from any shop without considering whether it is match with my clothes or not. It is so simple for me, and in case if it didn’t match with any dress, I will simply wear it with abaya. End of the story.

10) Myself

I love myself so much. If people say “I don’t mind what people think or say about me” it is very opposite to me. I care what people think of me because I care about myself. If people say something wrong, I will not just keep silence and say “Nevermind“. I will stand up and get back my dignity because I love myself more than you can imagine.

10 Craft Projects I Love

1 ♥ Jewellery Box D.I.Y by A Beautiful Mess. This is a really cool idea, and a great way to store/display your jewellery. I’ve been using an old fruit crate as a shelf to store my perfume, but since moving my room around a little, I’ve taken this down. But this would be a great thing to try with it, and it means I can get more jewellery…

2 ♥ Tin Can Craft – this is something that my friend Ramona wants to do, and so I searched for it online and this was one of the ones I found. It’s so easy to do; you basically fill a tin can with water, freeze it, then you mark the design on the can…get a sharp object and a hammer, and hammer away! After, you just leave the can(s) out to let the water melt, and you’re good to go! You can put tea lights in them, and they’ll make a lovely reflection on the room around you. (In case you hadn’t realised, candles are a BIG love of mine!)

3 ♥ Jersey Necklace – such a great idea! It’s a good way to re-use old t-shirts that you don’t like any more, and you get a new necklace out of it!

4 ♥ Photo frame for many photographs – this is a really simple, easy idea, but I think the result looks so good! If you’re looking for a different way to display your photographs, then this is one for you.

5 ♥ Super Easy Chalkboard DIY – this is definitely something I want to try. I’ve become obsessed with chalkboards, and I am on the lookout for some chalkboard paint (yes, it does exist!!), and then I’ll be looking for something to paint…so this is a good idea. I’ve seen some chalkboard WALLS! They are so cool. But for now, here you go:

6 ♥ DIY Headband – this looks really easy to make, and it’s effortless style for those days when you can’t be bothered to put a lot of effort into your hair!

7 ♥ Lace Lamp – wow. I absolutely love this DIY, it looks so pretty, yet it seems so simple to make! It is going on my list of craft projects, and I really want to do it, as I have a simple lampshade in my room that is a bit dull…and this would look beautiful! Let me know if you give this a try, I’d love to know how it turned out!

8 ♥ Felt Flower Pillow – this looks adorable, and seeing as I have a small collection of cushions on my bed, I might give this a whirl when I have some time. It might take a bit of time to do…but if you love cushions, hopefully it’ll be worth it!

9 ♥ T-Shirt Refashion – this is a simple way to update a t-shirt, and it makes a plain t-shirt a lot more funky. Give it a try! You can also make many variations of this, so let your imagination be your guide.

10 ♥ Poetry painting – this would be a great way to display your favourite poem, and I simply love it. If I were to make one myself, I’d probably make the canvas a lot smaller for now, as I already have a lot of things on my walls in my room…but it would be a lovely addition!

1 ♥ A lovely website that asks people to think of 10 things they love, and to share them with others on the website. I think it’s a lovely idea, and it reminds me of the 31 Days of Happy Moments that I did in October. It’s worth checking it out, so head on over to Ten Things I Love.

2 ♥ I am LOVING this beautiful watch from Liberty. It is so pretty, and I don’t think it would feel like a watch, as you tie it on; I’m not a big watch person, but it would sure be useful…and did I mention how pretty it is?! It is definitely high up on my wish list at the moment…

3 ♥ Cookies! I love cookies, especially if they come with a cup of tea as well…

4 ♥ Cups of tea. They make me happy, and I always love it when someone brings me a cup of tea, it makes me smile, smile, smile. I’m also loving the knitted jumper for the mug below…how cute is it? Might have to try and make one myself…

5 ♥ Re-watching films I love. Watched Grease the other day with the boy, and we were both singing along with the songs…and I possibly sang out of tune a couple of times, especially during Hopelessly Devoted to You…but, oh, who cares, it’s Grease! Also really want to re-watch Matilda sometime soon, and my friend wants to watch A Little Princess…so I think we’re going to have to have a day/night full of re-watching old childhood films.

6 ♥ How to care for introverts – a typography that made me laugh out loud the other day, and yet, parts of it are true, and they may apply to people you know! Not everyone can be a confident and loud person…so tread carefully!

7 ♥ WorkFlowy – a great website that I came across through Alex Beadon’s blog, that is basically one place where you can make lists for EVERYTHING in your mind/life/work…everything! And you can organise those lists into smaller lists, and when you’ve completed something on the list, you can strike-through it…and isn’t it so satisfying when you strike-through something? Or is that just me…? But I love it, and it certainly keeps me a bit more organised, even if I don’t complete everything all at once!

8 ♥ Jo Totes camera bags…they are beautiful! And they look just like normal bags, which means you can carry your camera, and an extra lens, around with you discretely, and still rest-assured that it’s safe. Plus, there’s room in the bag for your other essentials, such as your purse, phone etc… I want one so bad! It might definitely have to go on my wish-list for Christmas. Santa Baby…

9 ♥ Restyle a comfy sweatshirt – a beautiful craft/DIY project that I think I am going to have to try and attempt in the next few weeks, it looks so good. I’m loving so many craft projects at the moment, and there’s not enough time to do them all! But I am determined to do a few…so watch this space! I’ve already restyled a Kurt Cobain t-shirt that I bought at the weekend, so pictures of that might have to be posted sometime soon…

10 ♥ Tumblr – I made a tumblr account earlier this year, but I also stopped blogging over there…and now I’ve started posting again…and I just can’t stop! I mainly use my tumblr for inspiration, so most of the stuff I post are things that I’ve reposted from other people. WordPress will always be my original love though, there’s no way I can depart…but it’s okay to have a little love affair on the side…

3. Spinning yarn.

I’ve used a spindle thus far, but that shall change very soon. I got a spinning wheel today!

5. the entire month of October

I’m turning 19 on the 18th. And aside from that? In my opinion, Halloween is literally the best holiday there is. Seriously.

Basically the best show ever.

Another one of those ‘best things ever.’ Yep. Best movie ever.

8. Pizza

Best food. I barely eat it, seeing as how I generally live a gluten-free life, but…

Let’s get started!

1. LACE, LACE, LACE!
 I love lace everything. I’m planning to knit a lace scarf fairly soon, I have yarn and needles. I think I’ve found a few patterns I like, but I’ve got so many projects already going, I think it’ll have to wait.

2. Tattoos!

This is my only tattoo so far. I plan to get more some day.

3. Maxi Dresses!

So pretty. I wish I owned more than one. LOL!

4. Tights

I love these. I do not own them. Although I wore my favorite teal tights today.

5. Flowers

I love flowers. Hydrangeas are my favorite.

6. Knitting

I’m slightly embarrassed that this is number 6 on my list, but…

7. Bunting

I actually have no idea why  I love these things so much. I love making them, I love looking at them, and decorating with them. I’ll probably have way too many of them hanging in my house at all times.

8. Business lady clothes.

For some reason I have an odd obsession with business lady clothes. Not too sure where this even comes from.

9. Weddings

I love fantasizing about how my wedding will look and turn out. I heard you’re not supposed to do that, because then it’s like you’re looking for a groom to fit into your wedding instead of your heart, but I think that’s bullshit. Every little girl fantasizes about these things, and I don’t feel bad. So there.

10. Have I mentioned Ron?

This is my boyfriend, and this is our prom photo. Not too shabby, eh? Well, he makes me happy. :3

I’ve never owned a Polaroid camera and I don’t really envision myself buying one any time soon.  Once I discovered digital photography, the act of buying prints flew out the window.  If I had a Polaroid, I would end up with stacks and stacks of photos just taking up space and I’m trying to avoid being a feature on that show Hoarders….not to mention that packs of Polaroid refills are kind of expensive.  I do, however, really love the look of a Polaroid photo with the white boarder framing a grainy picture.  Over the past few years, there has been a major revival of the Polaroid….it’s all the rage with the ‘Hipsters’ it seems and I totally get the appeal, I’m just not rushing out to buy one.  With the renewed popularity of the Polaroid there has been a major swell in Polaroid themed crafts and gifts.  Here are some cool picks…

Ten things I love about you (two)!

1.That you are gorgeous!

You both have such beautiful blue eyes and massively gorgeous smiles! My heart melts, every time I look at you!

2. Your love of books!

A new book makes you smile and you both love them on any occassion, perfect mummy/daddy time, when you are chilling, when you are sick, when you are tired! You both just love books!

3. They way you remember things.

Legs, I love how smart you are and that you can recite a story to us after just a couple of times of reading, the way you remember places when you have only visited once and the way you remember things you learn at nursery! Mouse, you are awesome too, you remember signs and use them, remember what you like and don’t on sight and where we hide the dummies!

4. I love your determination

You are both so determined, Mouse you are fantastic you will find a way to climb, get in a nook, get a cuddle, anything you want to do, you push forward. Legs you are an awesome little boy with a need to learn, you are determined to learn new things daily! You are also very good at bargaining if there is something you want (‘how about if……’ said with cheeky grin!)

5. You love fruit!

You really do, you would (and do) eat loads of it, berries, apples, bananas! What mum doesn’t want they kids to eat fruit!

6. You say the funniest things!

Mouse, you say it with a look or a smile. You are cheeky and have a mischievous look, that you use at all sorts of opportunities! Legs you are so clever and come out with some wonderful things and can do a wide range of voices and noises!

7. You both can say I love you and mean it!

Using words or sign, you both tell me and daddy that you love us, I am so glad to be your mummy.

8. You love fun!

and I love playing, singing, dancing etc with you too! You are so fun loving and make me remember what is important!

9. That you love each other!

You hug each other, look after each other when one of you is ill and play together.  Yes you act like brothers and sisters sometimes and bicker, but you can always tell that you love each other.

10. That you both are you.

You are amazing, and me and daddy are glad to have you both. We love you for who you are and who you will become. I love that you are so alike, but both are unique too. You are fab children and I am sure you will become remarkable adults (just dont grow up too fast!)

10.  I love that my front rooms get the morning sun.

9.  Fireplace.  I did not have one growing up and always dreamed about the day I’d be able to curl up in front of a roaring fire on a snowy winter night.

8. My new fence!  ‘Nuf said.

7.  Hardwood floors.  When they’re clean (which I wish was more often) and I don’t look at the furniture or walls, I can pretend I’m in a room from House Beautiful.  Again, another detail I fantasized about when growing up in a Cape with wall-to-wall carpeting.

6.  Master bath.  Yes, it’s tiny (my bedroom closet is actually twice its size), but I do not have to leave the bedroom to use the bathroom at night.  And, added bonus, I do not have to share a bathroom with two little girls and a ton of toothpaste globs.

5. Lots of rooms.  I can find solitude (aka a hiding place) from my children if I keep moving from one  to another.  Eventually they give up and fight play together and I get a little peace.

4.  Two car garage.  First, I love it because I never have to go out into the snow or rain to run an errand or take the kids to school (except for right now and maybe into the next decade, while we use one side of the garage to finish our homegrown kitchen renovation).  But, thinking positively, there’s space for two vehicles, a snow blower, a lawn mower, gallons of hazardous household waste, bikes, a cozy car, a wagon, beach stuff, gardening stuff, three bikes, a children’s ride-on tractor with hitch, and all kinds of yard tools and toys in various states of disrepair.  And did I mention an attic above that, filled with sleds, skis, and God knows what else.  Hmmm…maybe it’s possible I have too much space.

3.  Screened porch.  Keeps mosquitoes out, great for gatherings, can watch the kids play while eating (as long as Ab does not need a push on the swing).  I love sunny summer mornings when the girls bring their puzzles and crayons out and I sit and have a cup of coffee while we talk and play.  I love summer evenings when Glop and I sit out with a glass of wine and listen to the cicadas.  He might claim this is one of his least favorite features of our shack, because it was built all wrong and it’s probably rotting out beneath our feet, but if he really thought about it he might conclude, like me, that it’s a haven.  And it makes for good winter storage.

2.  Finished, heated basement.  Nothing like having a place for the kids to romp when its raining or snowing.  Also good for storage.  Wait – noticing a trend here.   My house isn’t a shack – it’s just a really big yellow closet!

1.  First floor laundry.  I complain ceaselessly about doing laundry, but it would be so much worse without first floor machines.  It makes it possible to multitask at a whole new level – I can cook, clean, watch the kids and throw in a load, thus freeing up enough time for Glee.
