Marea Schisma

Marea Schismă din 1054 este un eveniment ce a împărţit creştinismul în două mari ramuri, vestică (catolică) şi estică (ortodoxă). Anul în care s-a petrecut este 1054, deşi tensiunile datau de multă vreme între creştinătatea latină şi cea greacă. Principalele cauze au fost dispute asupra autorităţii papale şi inserării clauzei Filioque în Crezul de la Niceea, deşi au existat şi cauze minore, cum ar fi dispute legate de jurisdicţia asupra anumitor regiuni, sau de alte practici liturgice.

Origini

Încă de la începuturi, Biserica a acordat un statut special unor episcopi, numiţi patriarhi: episcopul Romei, episcopul Alexandriei şi episcopul Antiohiei. Lor li s-au alăturat episcopul Constantinopolului şi cel al Ierusalimului, confirmaţi în cadrul Conciliului din Calcedon din 451 (vezi Pentarhia). Patriarhii erau superiori celorlalţi episcopi ai bisericii. În timp ce Constantinopolul se baza în solicitarea unei poziţii mai înalte pe argumentul că era “Noua Romă”, patriarhul Romei considera că el, ca succesor al Sfântului Petru, primul dintre apostoli, trebuia să aibă întâietate.
Dezbinarea Imperiului Roman a contribuit şi ea la dezbinarea din sânul Bisericii. Teodosie cel Mare, care a murit în 395, a fost ultimul împărat care a domnit peste un Imperiu Roman unit; după moartea sa, teritoriul a fost împărţit în două jumătăţi, estică şi vestică, fiecare având propriul împărat. La sfârşitul secolului al V-lea, Imperiul Roman de Apus se dezintegrase sub presiunea triburilor germanice, în timp ce Imperiul Roman de Răsărit (bizantin) se bucura de o relativă stabilitate. Astfel, unitatea politică a Imperiului Roman a fost prima care a cedat.

Generalitati

Papa Leon al IX-lea (1049-1054) şi patriarhul de Constantinopol Mihail Cerularie (1004-1058) au desăvârşit ruptura definitivă dintre cele două biserici în anul 1054, în urma unor dezacorduri ireconciliabile (lupta pentru supremaţie în lumea creştină, divergenţe teologice etc). Această ruptură a rămas cunoscută în istorie sub numele de Marea Schismă.
Patriarhul de Constantinopol fiind considerat de către bisericile ortodoxe drept şef onorific, simbolic, al ortodoxiei. Este binecunoscută denumirea de ,,Primul dintre egali” pe care o are faţă de celelalte biserici autocefale aflate in deplină comuniune liturgică.

Leon al III-lea Isauricul a interzis venerarea icoanelor în secolul al VIII-lea. Această abordare a primit numele de iconoclasm, şi a provocat tensiuni puternice în Imperiul Bizantin, şi a fost respinsă complet de papi.
Inserarea Clauzei Filioque în Crezul de la Niceea.
Dispute în Balcani, Italia de sud şi Sicilia, asupra cui avea jurisdicţie în acele zone (biserica apuseană sau cea răsăriteană).
Titlul Patriarhului Constantinopolului de patriarh ecumenic, înţeles la Roma ca patriarh universal, şi deci disputat.
Dispute asupra faptului că patriarhul Romei, papa, ar trebui să aibă o mai mare autoritate decât ceilalţi patriarhi.
Conceptul cezaropapismului, o concentrare a puterii religioase şi politice în mâinile aceleiaşi persoane.
După ascensiunea islamului, slăbirea relativă a influenţei patriarhilor Antiohiei, Ierusalimului şi Alexandriei a dus la polarizarea politicii interne a Bisericii între Roma şi Constantinopol.
Anumite practici liturgice din Occident care erau considerate inovaţii nedorite în Orient, de exemplu folosirea pâinii nedospite pentru euharistie.
Celibatul între preoţii din Occident, obligatoriu, faţă de cel din Orient, unde oamenii căsătoriţi aveau totuşi acces la funcţii bisericeşti.

Ce-ar fi fost daca nu ar fi avut loc Marea Schisma in 1054?

Consider ca acest eveniment a avut un impact mai mare decat ne imaginam. Europa ar fi fost mai unita in fata pericolelor externe; spre exemplu, ar fi facut front comun impotriva Imperiului Otoman, care nu s-ar mai fi instalat in Peninsula Balcanica, iar crestinismul ar fi fost impins, ca religie dominanta, cred, pana in Orientul Apropiat. Invazia mongola nu ar fi produs o zdruncinare atat de mare in estul Europei.

In acelasi timp, cred ca aparitia protestantismului ar fi intarziat si s-ar fi limitat la zona nordica a continentului, data fiind universalitatea religiei oficiale, care ar fi dispus de mai multe resurse pentru a stopa aparitia unui curent potrivnic ei.

Mi-e greu sa intrevad evolutia Rusiei intr-un context religios unitar al Europei; e greu de crezut insa ca toti conducatorii ei, din diverse perioade, ar fi acceptat suveranitatea unui lider religios, care pretindea si influenta politica, din alta parte, in stilul supunerii monarhilor medievali fata de Papa de la Roma. Ar fi existat sanse ca spatiul rus sa nu se mai crestineze.

Is there Subordination in the Trinity? A Debate

Here is a question that was hosted for debate recently:

Do relations of authority and submission exist eternally among the Persons of the Godhead?

Or in layman’s terms–
In the relationships between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are there differing degrees of authority and/or submission to one another?

The debate was between two pairs of scholars: Wayne Grudem and Bruce Ware on the one hand, and Keith Yandell and Tom McCall on the other. Grudem and Ware argued in favor of Subordination (where Jesus submits willingly to the Father, and the Spirit is sent out by the Son), and Yandell and McCall contended the opposite.

Bruce Ware argues that without the authority and submission relationship between the Father and Son, “one is left without any clear means of distinguishing the Father, Son, and Spirit from one another.”

Now, is that really true? I’m just playing devil’s advocate here, but that seems totally unnecessary to me for differentiating the persons of the Trinity. For example, one could differentiate the persons strictly on their role and function– Father as initiator, Son as redeemer, Spirit as empowerer. This all sounds very clinical, but it’s just a thought. They need not be subordinate strictly in terms of differentiating.

Actually, I have always leaned toward “subordinationism,” because I personally felt that is what I read scripture as supporting. However, I always thought I was somewhat of a heretic for believing this, and that it wasn’t a popular point of view.

That being said, I was quite intrigued by what Yandell and McCall had to offer. McCall highlights in Matthew where the Spirit “sends” the Son into the wilderness. If the Spirit here sends the Son, isn’t the Son subordinate to the Spirit? He argues that with the revelation of the Trinity that we presently have in scripture, this is a doctrine that is just too ambiguous to make a call on.

I find this very insightful, especially considering many Christians even deny the doctrine of the Trinity altogether; for the very purpose that it is so ambiguous. But moreover, this retains an element of transcendence and mystery about God and our revelation of him, which resonates with me.

Yandell then goes down a more philosophical path of argument. He argues that to hold the distinctions of authority and subordination in the Trinity, it leads to contradicting metaphysical doctrines. He argued, “If role-subordinationism is offered as a necessary truth, then it strictly entails that the Father has an essential property that the Son lacks, and the Son has an essential property that the Father lacks…; then the three Trinitarian Persons do not have the same nature.”

This definitely seems true. But what immediately comes to my mind is– didn’t what McCall (his teammate) just said rebut this same point, as well? The revelation of the Trinity that we presently could be just too ambiguous to postulate “properties” and “natures” of the persons.

All of this being the case, the fundamentals of our Trinitarian thinking stem way back from the ancient church, in the Patristic period. Even the Great Schism of 1054 between the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches was galvanized in a debate over these ambiguous principles; whether the Father and Son had “like substance” or “same substance,” in the infamous Filioque clause.

It is only appropriate that the most evasive doctrines in Christian Theology would be those that relate to the doctrine of God himself. If God could be contained in a systematic box of man’s devising, I wouldn’t be terribly impressed.

“Trinitarian theology” has become a buzzword of late, so perhaps this renewed interest will offer more insight for theologians to consider.

OSX86: Leopard 10.5.4 running stable

Yesterday I finally got Leopard 10.5.4 running stable on my AMD machine.
I got it running before, but after a random amount of time the applications started to crash and at the end the whole sistem locked up.
Yesterday I finally found a solution.
This problem seems to be common on dual core AMD machines and the solution is to disable one CPU core, so the sistem is running on a single core. Stable.
Quite a big sacrifice, but for Leopard not. A single core OSX is still better than dual core Windows. For me.
Well, for the technical part of the problem; I still didn’t came up with a technical explanation.
The solution, to enable only one CPU core, is to enter “cpus=1″ (without the quotes) at the boot prompt.
If it’s working as excpected and the sistem is stable, you can insert “cpus=1″ at the BootFlags section in com.apple.Boot.plist. This will make it permanent.

Alessandra Rotondo nasce a Maddaloni il 22 – 05 – 1988, era Domenica (mia madre precisa sempre ’sta cosa, chissà poi perchè…bah) in quei giorni il Giro d’Italia passava per Caserta e dintorni, e mentre lei nasceva (parto difficile, ci stavamo per rimettere le penne sia io che la mia genitrice) in un campo improvvisato poco lontano dall’ospedale si stava disputando un’amichevole (ma manco tanto) partita di baseball (questo particolare ha colpito particolarmente mio zio, all’epoca scalpitante ventenne, ora altrettanto scalpitante quarantenne).

Alessandra è cresciuta nell’alto casertano, consumando la sua infanzia da Heidi del Sud tra Pontelatone, Castel di Sasso, Formicola e dintorni.

Come ogni bambina che si rispetti, a 7 anni ha cominciato a frequentare una scuola di danza. Nonostante la sua innatata passione per il ritmo, alle soglie degli 8 aveva già deciso che la danza classica (con la sua ferrea disciplina, i dispetti delle ragazze più grandi negli spogliatoi, e gli alluci sanguinanti a causa delle scarpette da punta) non era la sua passione maxima. Ha lasciato e poi ripreso molteplici volte la disciplina fino ai 14 anni, affiancandola alla danza moderna, alla ginnastica, alla rieducazione posturale e a tanto, tanto altro.

A 13 anni ha conseguito l’ECDL (allora andava di moda) e ha scoperto che i maschi sono stronzi (ma non è bastato a farla arrendere).

Dagli 8 ai 14 anni ha pure preso lezioni di pianoforte, da un maestro burbero e lunatico che rendeva quelle 3-4 ore a settimana una vera tortura.

Possiede un pianoforte elettrico con i tasti pesati (cosa, si badi bene, DIVERSA da una tastiera, eh!) sul quale sua madre si ostina a disporre odiosi centrini e orribili ninnoli.

Le capita raramente di suonare, ma quando inizia passa le ore a fare arpeggi e a rispolverare vecchi spartiti. Le piace anche suonare ad orecchio, di tanto in tanto. Adora la musica e tutto quello che è ritmo. Ma da spettatrice, ecco.

Ha una discreta voce e si diletta a cantare: sotto la doccia, mentre fa la spesa, sull’autobus affollato, alle Karaoke Night che di tanto in tanto organizza con i suoi coinquilini, e ogni qualvolta qualcuno con una chitarra attacca Wish You Where Here.

Mentre i suoi erano intenti a rattristarle l’esistenza (facendola sottoporre a inquietanti visite ortopediche e dentistiche) lei maturava in maniera sempre più decisa e convinta la passione per la scrittura. Il suo primo racconto (La Foresta Incantata) è stato pubblicato su una rivista scolastica quando lei aveva appena 7 anni.

Ha vinto o e risultata finalista a qualche concorso di scrittura qua e là: Premio Palasciano, Biennale di Letteratura di Giano Vetusto, Concorso Pier delle Vigne e altri che non mi sovvengono.

Certo, non sarà il premio Strega, ma…che possiamo farci?!

Ha frequentato per due anni (2006 – 2007) il laboratorio di scrittura Lalineascritta di Antonella Cilento. Esperienza che ricorda sempre con grande piacere, e che l’ha aiutata ad approcciare in maniera più tecnica e sistematica alla scrittura.

Negli stessi anni (e anche in quelli precedenti) ha fatto esperienza come animatrice in campeggi per bambini a gestione parrocchiale. Fino a quando non è stata cacciata (nonstante avesse un ottimo feeling con i pargoli) poichè ritenuta “troppo poco cattolica”. Ha riaffermato il suo ateismo ed è andata via.

Ha frequentato il Liceo Scientifico “Diaz” di Caserta, dove ha conseguito il diploma di maturità nel 2007, riportando la votazione di 100/100esimi. Quando il suo migliore amico glielo ha comunicato, lei si trovava a Londra in vacanza e stava sbronzandosi di Sambuca da qualche parte. Ha vomitato, e da quel giorno non ha più bevuto Sambuca.

Ad Aprile 2007 ha superato i test d’ingresso per la Luiss, università che ha cominciato a frequentare nell’Ottobre dello stesso anno.

Da Settembre 2007 vive a Roma, in una folle casa molto sporca, ma molto accogliente, che divide con altri quattro ragazzi (due dei quali sono praticamente suoi fratelli, non di sangue, ma…insomma, ci siamo capiti).

Adora la Capitale: le sue albe e i suoi tramonti, le sorchette e gli zozzoni, mago Guarda e il Palalottomatica (dove la sua (Pepsi) Eldo Juve Caserta trioferà!), l’Excalibur pub e Mirko e il fratello di Mirko e la Piccola Gordon, Villa Ada e San Lorenzo e tanto tanto, ma veramente TANTO altro.

Frequenta (a dire il vero non spessissimo) la facoltà di Scienze Politiche presso la Luiss, attualmente è alle prese col secondo anno.

Talvolta è cosmicamente perplessa circa il suo corso di studi. E si vede tra 10 anni scazzata e disoccupata.

Le piace il mondo della Comunicazione e trova che il Web, dal quale è profondamente affascinata, sia uno strumento dalle potenzialità, in tal senso, sconfinate. E’ interessata alla Pubblicità e al Marketing, alla Cominicazione d’Impresa e a quella Politica, alla Stampa e ai mondi sconfinati della Comunicazione Visuale.

E’ discontinuamente impegnata in sconclusionati progetti di romanzi che nessuno mai le pubblicherà.

Talvolta ha la netta impressione che la sua testa sia conficcata in un caleidoscopio impazzito: sentimenti, colori, suoni, coseafiordipelle, brividi, esperienze, tramonti e ricordi e e e…

Tutto le vortica attorno con una tale rapidità che ha un senso di nausea e vertigine costante.

Ha quattro gatti e due cani. Un padre e una madre con i quali non riesce a capirsi e un manipolo di cugini e parenti e amici e conoscenti e amici di amici di amici, dai quali ogni tanto qualcuno si distacca, uscendo dall’anonimia della massa amorfa, e facendosi conoscere davvero.

Predilige i rapporti individuali ed esclusivi, e, in ogni caso, alla quantità preferisce la qualità.

Quel mondo che la delude ad ogni tramonto, riesce poi magicamete a sorprenderla ad ogni alba. Pensa che questo sia uno dei suoi pregi: crederci, sempre e comunque, non essere mai troppo stanca per dire un sì e mai troppo sfiduciata per dare una seconda possibilità.

Facile è immaginare che questo sia anche il suo peggior difetto.

E’ una grande osservartice, ha una portentosa memoria fotografica e quando non ha nulla da fare le piace perdersi in lunghe passeggiate solitarie e silenziose.

Non è una persona da mezze misure: o ama o odia, o è amata o è odiata. E forse è meglio così.

Molto altro semplicemente non ha voglia di dirlo, ecco.

P.s.: Ha dimenticato di dirvi che a 18 anni meno un mese e un giorno, accompagnata da uno stuolo di amici (sì, qualche volta sente il bisogno di un pubblico) è andata a farsi un piccolo tatuaggio sul polso (rigorosamente all’insaputa dei suoi genitori, chè non avrebbero capito, e poi non sono fatti loro).

Così è nata Timey, una clessidrina stilizzata di un 3 centimetri che le ronfa placidamente sul polso sinistro.

Una clessidra tatuata: ossimoro del tempo che non scorre pur continuando a passare.

Ora come ora è l’unico suo Amore profondo e sincero.

Tre centimetri di pelle. Siamo messi malaccio, eh, lo so.

A Novembre 2008 ha dato anche una sorellina alle piccola Timey: una rosa dei venti che segna il sud, sul piede sinisto. Attualmente non ha nome.

Upgrade 10.5.1 to 10.5.2

Download the 10.5.2 Combo Update (search Google) 343MB
Go to /System/Library/Extensions/
Start Update
When AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext apperars, move it to trash immediatly
The install finishes, but do NOT click the restartbutton!
Go to /System/InstallAtStartup/scripts/ and open the file 1 with a texteditor
if you can’t access the folder
- rightclick > Get Info
- at the bottom of the window it says Sharing & Permission, unlock it and click the plusbutton
- Select your Username, press Select and change your permissions to read & write
Find the string /System/Library/Extensions/Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext and replace it with /System/Library/Extensions/dsmos.kext
Save the file and restart

Update 10.5.2 to 10.5.3

Download the 10.5.3 Combo Update (search Google) 536MB
Repeat steps 2 to 8 from above

Update 10.5.3 to 10.5.4

Just start the Apple Softwareupdate, download and install the 10.5.4 update.

Now you should have running OS X 10.5.4!

Am deschis TV-ul. Atenţia mea s-a focalizat pe noul mariaj ce face obiectul actualităţii pe scena politică românească: mariajul dintre PSD şi PC oficializat de preoţii Dan Voiculescu şi Mircea Geoană.

Acesta îmi aminteşte de mariajul alianţei D.A. dintre PNL şi PD şi care părea a fi oficializat pentru totdeauna dar, odată ce şi-a atins obiectivul major, acela de a prelua puterea, schimbând opoziţia cu guvernarea, s-a scindat asemeni Bisericii în anul 1054 când Răsăritul reprezentând Ortodoxia s-a desprins de Apusul ce simbolizează Biserica Catolică, pe motive doctrinare şi, de ce nu, politice. În cazul PD-ului şi PNL-ului care desemnează Ortodoxia şi care Catolicismul? Dar în cazul PSD-ului şi PC-ului? Având ca ipoteză corupţia din ambele curţi, oare mai are importanţă?

Cum pot convieţui două entităţi cu viziuni şi doctrine diferite? Mai mult, cum poate persista un mariaj în care ambii soţi doresc conducerea? IMPOSIBIL! Cazul alianţei D.A. PNL-PD se va repeta şi în cazul PSD-PC. Ca pronostic, sugerez că scindarea va surveni cel mai devreme după alegerile parlamentare şi cel mai târziu imediat după alegerile prezidenţiale, când, în cazul câştigării guvernării de tandemul Năstase-Voiculescu, unul la prezidenţiale, celălalt lider al cabinetului executiv, la Guvern, neînţelegerea apărută peste noapte pe marginea viziunii guvernării îi va recomanda pentru divorţ.

Actualizando mi Hackintosh a 10.5.4 = Completo desastre

Creo que uno de mis defectos quiza sea que soy demasiado impaciente, y pues con el titulo de esta entrada ya se imaginaran a lo que me refiero, si actualice inocentemente mi instalacion de Leopard 10.5.2 de iAtkos v2 que por cierto iba muy bien, a la version 10.5.4 que publico hace unos dias Apple, y aunque no puedo decir que no sabria lo que seguramente pasaria, tenia la pequeña esperanza de que los planetas se alinearan a mi favor y me permitiran lograr lo imposible.

Bueno si no me estan entendiendo de lo que hablo es sencillo actualize mi hackintosh a la ultima version oficial de Leopard resultado: Caos en el sistema, ahora ya no me va el leopard, y no puedo entrar a sacar nada de lo ke tenia, de momento mi ultima oportunidad es usar mi backup del time machine para rescatar mis datos y demas informacion.

Porque escribo esto? Claro para que si haya fuera existe otro impaciente como yo que piensa que solo por tratarse de el, esto funcionara magicamente pues piensalo de nuevo, porke no funciona.

Mejor esperen por una parche para hacer la actualizacion para hackintosh o en todo caso comprense un mac jejeje.

I am experiencing sudden shut down of my dual processor 1.8 gig Power Mac. The system simply shuts off. I have recently upgraded my install to 10.5.4. I put it on Tuesday evening the first of July. On the evening of the 2nd the system shut down on its own after the fans ramped up in speed. That was most disconcerting. I have the system on a good size Belkin UPS unit so I am dubious of attributing this problem to the lightning we had here on the day of the 2nd. Anybody with this experience? Please post. Thanks

Update:

Hardware failure is the root cause. I stressed the system using Tiger – 10.4.11. The fans gently ramp up and the heat out of the upper processor vent gets quite high.

Seems my wifes computer fritzing the day before was no coincidence

Update 2:

I knocked a few degrees off the processors and the memory controller by blowing out the dust with compressed air. The system looks like it needs a thorough disassembly and cleaning by a pro. I wonder if the heatsinks could also benefit by renewing the heatsink compound as well.

I traced the problem down to the video card running hot. I removed the fan from the board and disassembled it. I found a build-up of rubbery goop. Apparently the fan is being rev limited by the build up of the foreign material. So I cleaned it up with cotton tip swabs and S-100 Engine Brightener containing petroleum distillates and silicones. Then I lubricated the bearing well with Robbe No. 5530. After dabbing off the excess I reassembled the fan. I put the card back together and replaced it to the system and fired it up. Lo and behold the temperature of the indicator stayed steady and I haven’t crashed again. I stressed the system running Halo as usual and it runs properly once again. Yeehaa!

Mac users got a pleasant surprise last night with the release of the latest OS update for Max OS X Leopard: Mac OS X 10.5.4. The update is running on both Natalie (PowerPC) and Rei (Intel) and has been pretty solid of an update so far. We also started applying the update during work hours today and have had no issues thus far. It gets my solid approval.

This is a welcome update, particularly for those of us who use Adobe Creative Suite 3. Shortly after 10.5.3 was released, many CS3 users began to note that there were severe issues with accessing and saving their works when they were located on a network volume. Right near the top of the noted changes was what Apple promised:

Resolves an issue with saving and reopening Adobe Creative Suite 3 ﬁles on a remote server.

Outside of the wondrous CS3 note, there are general fixes for L2TP and X11 as well as fixes and updates for AirPort, iCal, and Exposé. Safari also gets a bump to 3.1.2. More info at the kBase article.

So fire up Software Update for the Just Your Size edition or pull the OS X combo update (561MB) or the OS X Server combo update (677MB).
