  The first need of physiological sufficiency is very basic. This issue simply asks if the students are comfortable in their environment. That is, are they hungry, too cold, too hot? If a student’s physical environment does not match appropriately with the student’s need, he will not be motivated to learn or to achieve any higher need. Similarly, if the student does not feel safe (via the second need, security), they will not focus on working. If a student feels threatened by another student or by the teacher, he may not progress as well as hoped and in many cases, he reverts from the instruction rather than responding to it. In order to alleviate feelings of danger, a teacher can show protection and love, which is the third hierarchal need. A student must feel safe and invited in a classroom for him to achieve; making a classroom seem like a prison elicits the antithesis of motivation: lassitude.
  It is because of this complex psychological theory that teachers can stumble over different types of motivation. A teacher may have to adopt a different plan for each student because needs vary so greatly. However, there are general patterns a teacher can follow in order to find a common thread between certain students and their motivational applications. Students are either motivated intrinsically or extrinsically. Younger students tend to be motivated by the prospect of receiving a physical treat for their efforts, such as a pizza party or candy. I am a 2nd grade elementary teacher in multicultural school setting. I am going to discuss three different measures which would regain classroom control level and reduce the misbehavior among students of 2nd grade .
  First strategy/measure I would like to use to improve the classroom rules & procedures is that I will discuss all the classroom rules in details with the students along with the importance of those rules in our educational system with help of examples like “What should we do in the classroom when teacher is teaching?” ,’’How should we behave with our peers in the classroom?” Etc…. . I should write all the rules on the chart paper and should display in the classroom so that all the students must read these rules everyday and keep in mind the value of these rules and procedures.
  Second strategy I would use to achieve my goal is to develop the co-operative learning among students by group learning. I would divide the whole class in different group and assign them to discuss the importance of classroom rules with their group and choose best rule which they would like to implement in the classroom .They should write that rule in a post it note and paste on the board when asked .like this we will come to know the opinion of all and will discuss in the detail as a whole group with the student .I believe , In this way I can bring some qualitative changes their behavior.
  Third strategy /measure I would like to involve parents to maintain the discipline in the classroom . More volunteer parents were involved to motivate students and discuss the value of rules in our system. Special duties like class monitor must be assigned to the deserving students. Citizen of the month title would also be given to those who follow all the classroom rules.
  I will also encourage the students to make their own good rules which they feel will be helpful and easy to follow for them. Wait time would also be increased to make to more good rules .All the groups will read rules aloud and do their presentation before the whole group . In this way ,all the students will get a chance to present their views. Assessment will be done by the whole class whether those rules will be helpful for every one. After the whole class discussion ,some rules will be finalized and slides can be made . All the slide show would be shown among parents and other respected colleagues .
  To conclude, I would ensure that all the rules can be implemented nicely and positive output can be seen in everyday classroom management. I also feel that these strategies are going help everyone in establishing classroom rules .

Sure a desk is a nice idea, but if you ask kids themselves, many will give you some pretty convincing arguments about why they do their best thinking when they’re flopped on the floor or the couch. Or both!

  If that’s the story in your house try meeting your kid halfway with this creative and practical “traveling desk.”

  What You Need:
  A plastic “tool caddy” with a sturdy carrying handle and at least one pocket large enough for a clipboard, and several small pockets the right size for pens. (Note: you can find these at both hardware stores and craft stores)
  Clipboard with two kinds of paper: binder paper and plain white paper
  Pens, pencils, colored pencils, pencil sharpener
  6” ruler
  White-out
  Glue Stick
  Scissors
  Small stapler
  Tape Dispenser
  5×8” Index card
  Optional: sticky-back felt shapes and glitter glue
  What to Do:
  To get started, invite your child to decorate the outside of her caddy. If she makes it personal and makes it snazzy, it’s much more likely that this practical homework helper will be used a lot! Have your child write her name on the 5×8” index card, and decorate it brightly with colored markers, foam stickers and glitter glue if she likes.
  Tape it securely to the front of the caddy.
  Load up! The biggest pouch of your caddy will hold the clipboard, a crucial part of the kit. Choose a clipboard in a color your child likes (and consider decorating it, too—see our related activity!), and load it with several sheets of paper.
  Place extra paper upright in the caddy, behind the clipboard, so it’s convenient for future use.
