Although the texans are starting to become the New Jags in the Colts life, I’m still not sure they are ready to finally close a gam against Indy even at home. Whut i do see is week 15 in Jax. The jags always play the colts tough and this game will be without Bob Sanders. I can remember a game not to long ago when the jags Played a banged up Colts team and ran for almost 400 yards. I don’t know if that will happen again but this will def  be their toughest task..

Guelph Hurricanes announce that University of Guelph students will receive 1/2 price entry to this Thursday’s game vs. Waterloo Siskins.

Occasionally I’ll hear some piece of music from the mainstream that totally sticks in my head and obsesses me to the point where I ultimately end up in HMV buying it whilst trying to maintain an air of independent coolness that will convince the person behind the till that although I’m buying something that’s been bought by thousands and millions of kids who just don’t know music, I’m still somehow better and more knowledgeable and more hip than any old casual purchaser. Hah! Deal with that long sentence.

This record is such a case – okay, so it might not be from the complete MOR pop mainstream, but it got what I believe is known as ‘heavy rotation’ on major radio stations upon its release. Those major radio stations were the ones that polluted my ears during my working days at the time, and this song was a huge relief amongst the relentless crap every time it came on. Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s voice is so ugly, so rough, I love it – and I love the fact that such a dirty and sleazy song as this was all over Radio One for a time (even if they did have to refer to the artist as just ODB in order to fend off the inevitable flood of complaints)…

By the way – Ol’ Dirty Bastard; RIP. He seemed to live life to the full (to put it mildly).

My Wu-Tang Clan anecdote: I saw Raekwon and pals performing at an All Tomorrow’s Parties festival a couple of years ago, and a few memories stay with me:

• The total rip-off they got away with by playing snippets of Wu-Tang faves for a minute or so before playing out a huge gunshot sound, shouting at the crowd for a bit and then moving on to the next track. Then ultimately descending into nothing more than a sales drive for Wu-Tang t-shirts from the stage.
• How inappropriate the sleazy, dirty hip-hop of Wu-Tang seemed to be when played out to a room full of pasty-faced indie kids (in which group I consider myself firmly a member). The intense embarrassment of seeing flower-skirted indie girls attempting to shake their booty when invited up on stage.
• A brief, drunken conversation with a couple of Wu-Tang entourage who were stalking through the crowd during the performance, selling mix CDs. I purchased a couple, and attempted a manly slap on the back whilst informing the guys that they were ‘great sallesshmen’. What did I expect to be the outcome of this lame performance? That I would get invited to hang out with the group? That I’d become an honorary Wu-Tang? Alcohol makes you do funny things.

Pouco a pouco, os zumbis voltavam ao movimento normal. Havia ainda muitos nos arredores da casa, mais do que seria possível contar. Volta e meia algum arranhava novamente seus dedos semidecompostos nas portas e paredes, como se tivesse lembrado, de repente, que não, não conseguiram entrar na casa. E que lá dentro talvez houvesse.

“Eles desistem rápido”, o chefe disse. Três meses. Três meses. O chefe percebeu o olhar do outro menino, que no entanto não se atrevia a dizer. “Porque eles podiam estar querendo entrar ainda” argumentou então, de modo que o menino entendesse que não estava se justificando, mas apenas concluindo um raciocínio.

“Será que eles sabem que a gente está aqui?” – o menino pensou.

“Eles não sabem de nada! São bichos.” – o chefe respondeu.

Deitado, o menino olhou para o céu pela janela. Moscas. Em número até maior do que o de zumbis. Varejeiras se multiplicando pelo céu da cidade.

The Penang Bridge International Marathon was held yesterday. For the 1st time, I participated in the half marathon category (21 km). The half-marathon started at 3.30 in the morning at Queensbay mall.

Thanks to the introduction of the champion chip this year, I got to know the time I took to run the race. I manage to finish the 21 km run in 2 hours 36 minutes 37 seconds (net time). My target was 3 hours. Of 2833 runners for mens open half marathon, I am at position 1033.  =)

At the beginning of the run, I ran at a moderate speed. About the same speed as majority of the 1/2 marathon runners. I past the first drinking station and ran non stop to the Penang bridge. I was surprise that the run up the slope in the middle of the bridge isn’t steep. I ran to the 2.8 km point on the bridge and took a U-turn, then running back to Penang island. The run on the bridge was easy. I only started feeling tired at the end  of the bridge.

When I was running back to Queensbay from e-Gate, I walk at least 1/3 of the distance. My whole body was already tired, especially my abdomen area. It was cramped.

At the  last 1/2 km, i started running again. I thought, I should finnish the run in style. hehe..

After crossing the finishing line, I was glad that the run was over for me… =)

My intestine continued to cramp throughout the morning till afternoon. I was also very tired, but glad that I finished the run.. My first ever half marathon!!

Today, I am feeling okay, except that both my legs ache a little.

Time to enjoy the food in Penang. =)

After an output with elements of Gorman’s productions, as well as variations of those elements, Mikrowave sees it’s first more or less ordinary 12″ release in a long time.

What would maybe seem at the beginning of 2009 as a direction into the digital era, Gorman gives us one of the strongest releases on the label (as well as the year) on a vinyl release – featuring not only very stripped down and some of the most rough tracks by himself, but also two other producers that have time and time again showed their production talent. Peter Van Hoesen and MLZ have a strong output of their own, but with this release, their remix capabilities are displayed in a more secure and relaxed manner. Of course, this is a good thing.

Even though a lot of focus will be put on a certain club in Germanys capital with this release, a thing that might require more careful listening is the own take all three producers show when they are combined, which has it’s blueprint set with this 12″. Carefully crafted elements that in one sense seem to be pushed hard by them, seem on the other hand very natural; as the sound structure is more close to something personal and unique. Considering that a lot of techno today is more or less dark with a pursuit of a sound where the result might not be as inspiring, it’s fresh to hear something that adapts to something else witch is yet to be defined.

It happens a few times every year that a release feels like something that you have been looking for, and Mikrowave 12 is one of those records. Just remember to listen carefully, and drop it in the right moment.

Right now, I seriously have a problame with anyone aged 8-12 and are boys. What is with these little retards walking around thinking that the f’n own the place, with there budget hair-cuts and their t-shirts that all say billabong. They are always swearing, which i’m alright with if it’s ANYONE ELSE. When it’s a baby/toddler/old person, it’s hilarious. When it’s a teen or adult, it’s fair enough. When ITS A LITTLE WHINY PRETEEN, IT ANNOYES ME CRAPLESS. They all look the same, all do the same things, and all they’re all little try hard gangstas, always ‘hangin with der homeboys’. D<.

And then there are the 8-12 year old girls. MY GOD. WHO ARE THESE PARENTS. They are all make-up wearing, beyond underage little… bogans, really. They wear mini-skirts and tank tops, they all have phones, they all have a bf, even though their 9  (?) and are always using their phones. WHO ARE YOU CALLING? YOUR MUM? REALLY?

Anyhoo. My point is, back in my day (less than three years ago….) 10 year olds didn’t have phones and wear makup and act like there heaps gangsta.
