OMFG! EIgentlich war das nur eine Frage der Zeit, daß das passieren wird. Jetzt scheint es wohl wahr zu sein. Technics stellt nach ca. 30 Jahren die Produktion des SL1210 MK2 ein. Für einige DER Plattenspieler schlecht hin. Ich habe in der Vergangenheit ja auch schon den ein oder andern Tweak hier auf meinem Blog veröffentlicht. Aber das es so unverhofft kommt, so aus dem Nichts, dass es mir schon die Socken auszieht. Soll ich schnell noch ein Hamsterkauf machen? Nun ja. Noch steht hier einer und ist in Rente. Mein SP 10 MK2, der schon viiiiel länger nicht mehr hergestellt wird, gefällt mir besser.

at Bob Boileau’s ass kicking 1974 Civic 1200. Six SCCA national championships and clocked at 146.69 MPH on just 1200 CCs. This is another one of those cars that should never be restored.

I recently posted an interesting Yamaha XS650 by this same shop (Loaded Gun Customs), and now they have this cafe’d 1989 HD Sportster up for sale. It’s definitely got some nice mechanical bits on it (the rear-sets and clip-ons), and it has a nice simple look to it. My own Sportster hasn’t been converted quite this far yet, but its getting there.

This bike is probably a 1200, but the seller doesn’t actually say. However, they did put new 10:1 pistons in it, and the cylinders look awfully new, so I would guess they plopped a 883 to 1200 upgrade kit on it and called it a day. It is missing the headlight adjustment nut cover, which is kind of odd given that the rider would have to look at the exposed bolthead and any pooling water every time they rode the bike.

Anyways, there are 2 days left in the auction, and the price is just over $3K. Reserve hasn’t been met, and the Buy-It-Now price is $5,200, so your guess is as good as mine as to what the reserve price has been set at. This is a pretty nice example of a Sportster cafe compared to most that we see…

If there’s anybody out there, reading this, I just want to thank you, thank you for reading ! Well, today it’s halloween, so of course, everybody is suddenly interested in clothes!!!

We’re going to have a sleepover today, after trick-or-treating and stuff like that, but I’ll be going at 10:30! So it’s obviously not trick-or-treating time! So, we’re going to the second most scariest place in London, Camden Town. Don’t get me wrong, Camden’s great,  but it’s scary if you don’t know where to look! So, I’m going as an 80’s rocker, modeling off of Joan Jett, and Penguiz is going as a Newspaper! We’re going to Camden to buy stuff!!!!!! So, I might buy a bunch of sunglasses and accesories or just a bunch of random weird stuff. I might ( will) buy shutter sunglasses, you know like the kanye west ones..  Anyways, it’s going to be a great trip! Penguiz going to bring a notebook and pencil and I’m bringing the camera, and we’re going to tell YOU what is in style this season!

The fifth and final instalment of the Xbox Summer of Arcade was released this week, Shadow Complex. This was a game that I had been looking forward to for several months, since I saw a demo at E3. It appears by the sheer amount of people I saw playing the game on release day, that a lot other people were also anticipating the title. Shadow Complex is the story of a guy, and his girl. Guy loses girl. Guy goes after girl. However this time the guy is not a super-trained spy. He actually has had no training at all. He learns new abilities through items that he picks up throughout the game. The items can be upgraded through secret pickups that you find. These pickups let you hold more of an item usually (for example, each grenade secret will let you hold 2 more grenades). There are several different cut scenes for melee combat which look nice. When you use mounted gun emplacements, your view turns from a platform angle, to a more familiar 3rd person shoot angle which is a nice touch. I also liked how you had unlimited gun ammunition.

The controls are very simple and easy to use. The graphics also look great, especially for an arcade game. Shadow Complex is pretty long considering. You get your moneys worth in that department. As for the story, in general, I liked it. It seemed like there was always a reason to be doing what you do, though sometimes cheesy. The cut scenes look great a smooth. The difficulties are well made. Easy/Normal are straightforward, whereas the harder difficulties provide the ‘experts’ with a challenge. To be honest though, the hardest part I found in the game was finding your way around! Even though there is a map which tells you where to go, often you have to detour off this. If you can’t find where to go, there is usually a hidden vent somewhere which you have to shoot and crawl through.

One of the main criticisms of the game is that you get items which you barely use. Just before the end of the game, you pick up several pieces of equipment which you may use 5 times before you finish. It feels like there is no point to them. Another annoying element is the constant sense that it is not actually an action game. More of an exploration game, with a bit of shooting thrown in. I would have loved to see more fighting, rather than climbing and crawling, and generally, trying to find the way all the time. The game also has a bit of a rubbish ending. I won’t spoil it for those of you who have not finished it, but I will just say it was a disappointment. I would have loved to see some multi-player in there as well, but that would only have been a bonus. Once you complete the game, it offers very little except to go back and collect every single item which I find tedious and boring to be honest. Another point which I found bewildering, is what the hell is the point of the bit at the beginning? Aside from being mentioned once more in the game, it has no relevance what so ever.

Now time for the mark. Due to the great graphics, entertaining storyline, and good gameplay, I give Shadow Complex 4/5. If you are into your XBLA games, then I recommend you buy this. If not, only if you have a few spare Microsoft Points you wouldn’t mind spending. The game will take the average player 4-5 hours to complete (not looking for the hidden items).
