What is your favourite classic car of all time?

Featuring better handling and a smoother style, the Spitfire Mk 4 arrived in 1970. Completely re-skinned and re-trimmed, it was a much more refined car than its predecessors. Slower than the Mk III it replaced, due to modifications for the new tighter American regulations, the MkIV inspired the final modification of the model, the 1500. Launched in late 1974, this car with its 1493cc power plant would reach the magic ton and ran successfully until 1980 when production finally closed. All Triumph 1500 s were fitted with an under-bumper, chin spoiler.

Finally, I’ve finished my English essay! Gee, those things are evil. 1200-1500 coursework pieces are the plague of every year 12’s well being. It’s horrifying. But its done now, so thankfully I won’t have to do it again (although ironically I’ll probably have to redraft it to make a better grade…)

On a more positive note, after word with the head teachers, I’ve managed to gain the chance to host the first assembly back! So 2010’s January will be pretty good… Or at least it’ll start out with a bang. The speech for the assembly will be about motivation and not giving up, and will probably include Nintendo someplace.

1,500 troops from an infantry battalion task force at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina will head to Afghanistan later this month, the first percentage in the total deployment of 30,000 more troops that the president has just announced. Another 13,500 troops will to Afghanistan by the end of spring, including an additional 6,200 Marines from Regimental Combat Team-2 at Camp Lejeune; 800 from I Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton, California; 3,400 troops from a Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division from Fort Drum, New York; and 4,100 support forces, according to the Department of Defense.

A while ago I read on Wikipedia that Sonia Rykiel was the next designer after JC that will be designing for H&M: Sonia Rykiel pour H&M. She’s a great designer and I personally think H&M should be proud to have such a great designer as her designing for their company (And I’m sure they are very, very grateful.) I totally forgot about the whole Sonia Rykiel for H&M thing and when I was reading the dutch ELLE today I came by ads for this collection. So this news isn’t that recent anymore, but I’m still going to write a post about it. The collection consists of ladies underwear. The prices are really reasonable. I’m not a fan of everything in the collection, but a little diversity is always good right? And that’s exactly what she did, but still she managed to make a collection instead of garments that don’t have a connection at all. The collection will launch on December 5 and will be available in 1500 H&M stores all over the world. Not only in the H&M stores but for the first time for H&M the collection will be in the Sonia Rykiel stores too. This is not the only collection she will design for H&M in 2010 she will design a knitwear collection (ofcourse, this is where she’s famous for) plus an accessory collection on 20 February.

The largest ever hoard of Anglo Saxon treasure has been valued. The gold, which was found on 5th July this year in Staffordshire, was discovered by Terry Herbert while he was out practicing metal detecting on farmland belonging to Fred Johnson. It has now been valued at £3.28 million by the independant Treasure Valuation Committee. The money will be split equally between the two men. The treasure consists of  more than 1,500 individual pieces. The collection includes pommel caps and hilt plates. All in all there is 5kg of gold. The significance of the find is being compared to being, at least equal to, the Sutton Hoo discovery of 1939. Highlights of the collection can currently be seen at the British Museum in London. Thanks for reading.

December 5 marks the release of Sneaker Freaker’s “Skippy” 850. These babies feature gen-yoo-ine kangaroo leather on the toe and a green/gold hits. Doesn’t get much more patriotic than that… strewth! A few stockists around Australia will be getting them, but for QLD I’m pretty sure Laced and Level Three are the only stores to get their grimy mitts on pairs. Click ze pic for more.

- Spacious and gracious bedroom.  Accordion metal gates give it just a hint of danger.  Situated in the back of the building so the din of industry won’t disturb thee.

- Plenty ‘o closet for ye.

- Every king (or queen) needs his (or her) throne.  Sorry it’s a bit blurry but you can make out the outlines of the essentials.

- Technically this is the dining/living/kitchen.  All it’s really got goin’ for it is that little window high up there and the cabinets are an olivy green shade of gross.

- Here’s the great surprise… there’s another unit that’s privately connected to the one upstairs!  That means this is technically a duplex.  SAWEET!

- This is the bathroom that goes with it.  Standing shower and I swear there’s a toilet back there.

- And it gets SWEETER!  Your own private backyard patio and…

- …you’re own private ALLEY!  Never had one of these myself so I don’t know what to really do with it.  Might be an interesting place to grow vines.  Suggestions would be GREAT!

- You don’t need to rent both units to have the benefit of this common coin-op laundry!  Pretty sweet convenience considering there’s not much at all out by where this building is.

- Heat and hot water are INDEED included.

- If you choose to rent both units, the monthly total comes to $1495.

- Landlord requires first, last, and security to move in (that’s 3x the rent.)
