Teknik Penerbangan Kelompok Bidang Keahlian Kesusasteraan

Novel keduanya, Love for Show, yang terbit tahun 2007 Bung Andi ngocol abis. Gaya melucunya begitu menarik diikuti.

Setelah sempat membuka usaha kursus pendidikan, jual-beli sofa, sampai wiraniaga pintu ke pintu, kini Toro meraup jutaan dolar berkat visi bisnisnya.

Insting bisnis Toro menemukan jalurnya.

Baby Bird There’s something going on(1998, Echo) En 1995, un drôle d’oiseau venu de Shef

Baby Bird There’s something going on(1998, Echo)

On retiendra ainsi le glaçant “Bad old man” introductif, et ses paroles détraquées: “He puts razorblades in ice creams / Shots paedophiles in a wet dream” . Les textes sont d’ailleurs constamment sombres et quand notre homme proclame “You will always love me”, il faut bien y entendre une menace (“You will never be free”) .

Between my ears there’s nothing but music. J’ai appris récemment que le bonhomme avait refait surface l’an dernier avec un nouveau projet, joliment intitulé Death to the Neighbourhood mais j’avoue ne rien en avoir écouté encore.

This morning we lost our beloved Matthew. As much as our hearts ache with desperation and sadness, we know that Matt is dancing once again in Heaven. His heart will remain young forever. Matt always said he never wanted to grow old. Matt never worried about the small things in life, and he definitely lived life to the fullest. We love and miss Matt more than words can describe. He will forever be in our hearts. We will embrace Matt’s spirit that lives on in his son, Elias Matthew. Please pray for all of Matt’s family, but be assured that Matthew is up above with our Heavenly Father and is reunited with all of his family members that have preceded him.

Once funeral arrangements are made, we will send out another update. Thank you for showing Matt and his family how much they are loved.

So far, not a great day for Matt and his family. The nurses called Kathy in the middle of the night to report that his oxygen levels dropped. They called the doctor in and they completed a couple x-rays/scans of matt’s lungs. They did a thoracentesis on Matt’s left lung, and removed a little fluid from the left lung. The doctors emphasized how sick Matt is and how bad his lungs are right now. They are sure that Matt has ARDS, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. They are wondering if Matt’s arterial line (an IV in his artery) may be infected, and are probably going to change the site of that line sometime in the near future. Matt’s temperature continues to be high and Matt is also tachycardic, his heart rate is higher than it should be. Please pray for Matt and our family during this emotional rollercoaster. We love Matt so much.

We just spoke with the trauma doctor and his team. We are discouraged. Matt has problems keeping his blood pressure and oxygen levels up last night. They added another medication for this. His pneumonia doesn’t seem to be improving. They started a different antibiotic. He continues to have very high temps. We really feel the need for your prayer support today. We just want our beloved Matthew healed.

As of now, Matt’s vital signs are stable. His temperature has come down significantly. Matt has not had any more cardiac arrests since Bethany and Ed arrived at the hospital, which was around 4:00pm. They have performed many cardiac tests and all have come back normal. The cause of Matt’s cardiac arrests is still unknown. Matt’s brothers came up and arrived late tonight. He is now surrounded by his family who loves him more than he knows. God has answered so many prayers already today. Matt is in His hands and we put all of our trust in our powerful, Almighty God who can do all things. Still praying for miracles.

Friday, September 25, 2009 5:55 PM, EDT

The last two days have been very difficult for Matt. He continues to have severe lung issues. Matt has experienced multiple episodes of cardiac arrest. This happens whenever they move him or with any sort of treatment. His heart has started right back up with medication, but this is cause for great concern. Also, his temperature continues to be extremely high. Matt is fighting for his life. Please present his name to the throne of God. We love him and selfishly do not want to give him up, but we trust our God, who knows all and loves Matt more than we will ever know.

Let’s see who we have out there tonight huh? The usual band of teenage malcontents? I certainly hope so…

First out is a classic in my book; “Pump up the volume”. Released in 1990 by New Line Cinema and written and directed by Alan Moyle. The movie centers around teenager Mark Hunter (a.k.a Hard Harry) who runs a pirate radio station from his parents basement. He quickly becomes a hero to the other teenagers in the community, and of course as quickly becomes enemy #1 to the schools principal and other authorities.

I was only eight years old when this movie came out in 1990 but I remember watching it on VHS when I was about fourteen-fifteen. Instantly I loved it. Much of my time in that age was actually spent rewatching pirated movies. Pirated movies in those days was illegally copying rented VHS movies. (Glory days!) It was not done to sell or to make any kind of profit. It was done simply to fuel my rewatching. I didn’t have a lot of friends growing up, not to complain, just to say that my main activity after school was watching movies. A lot of time was spent at the video store, renting movies to later copy. Then spent my time watching them over and over again.

My memories of “Pump up the volume” was that it, much like “The Breakfast Club” did, spoke to teenagers on teenagers terms. It spoke candidly about sex, about death, about loneliness and love. I remember “Pump…” dealing with suicide and freedom from adult authorities. I remember that it was also a movie very few people in my surrounding knew about. I remember that I kept the movie as a secret and almost brutally identified with Mark Hunter. The unhappy kid, the kid a part. The importance of doing what’s real and saying what’s real just for the sake of it being, well, real. The connections to “The Breakfast Club” are of course many. But Pump was like Breakfast’s darker but sexier twin. Yes, Molly Ringwald was for many the 80’s teen icon. But she never held a candle to Christian Slater. He channeled teenage angst like Luke Skywalker channeled the Force.

I had not watched Pump since I threw my VHS player away. (Seems stupid now, but I think it broke.) This was ten, maybe eleven years ago. Until now. In rewatching “Pump…” a couple of things are immediately clear. I was a very smart teenager for liking this. The movie really holds up. The dialogue is still awesome.

Talk hard, I like that. It’s like a dirty thought in a nice clean mind.

Love. It really captures the initial steps of falling in love. Both Slater and Samantha Mathis as Nora gives exceptional performances. Everything held up. Some movies don’t. Some movies, though I love them, seem very dated. “Kuffs” for example, another Slater movie that I rewatched not so long ago, felt very dated. And the ending is also awesome. I do like conflicted endings.

Well anyway. The movie is, in a lack of a better term, sensitive. And comforting. It actually left me with a feeling of hope. And just maybe it reminded me of a few things that used to important to me and that I forgot. Still a very good watch.

===================================================

I lie awake at night, listening to you sleeping
I hear the darkness breathe
And the rain against the window

After all this time
Cynical and jaded
All the stones are diamonds
All the blues are faded

Everything Ive been through
All Ive seen and heard
Spend to much of my life
In the spiritual third world
But you came and brought the rain here

Something waiting to happen
Something learning to fly
We can talk without talking
From inside to inside
I have waited to feel this
For the whole of my life

We took ourselves apart
We talked about our faces
You said you didnt like yours
I said I disagree

I keep the pieces separate
I clutch them in my coat
A jigsaw of an angel
I can do when I feel low

From emptiness and dryness
The famine of our days
Watch the heavens open
Wash it all away
You came and brought the rain here

Something waiting to happen
Something learning to fly
On the edge of exploding
Something wild and alive
Something waiting to happen
Anytime that you like
I have waited to feel this
For the whole of my life

R.E.M. Monster (1994, Warner)

Ft. Jefferson located on the Dry Tortugas islands 70 miles west of Key West Florida. Construction began in 1846 but was ultimately abandoned 28 years later in 1874. The fort was never completed due to difficulties with numerous construction problems, bouts of yellow fever and the invention of the rifled cannon. The Dry Tortugas was discovered by conquistador Ponce de Leon 1513 and was given the name Las Tortugas for the abundance of turtles found on the islands. Due to the absence of fresh drinking water it got the name of Dry Tortugas. In 1935 Franklin D. Roosevelt set aside the Dry Tortugas Islands as a National monument and it was made into a national park in 1992

Just because the fort construction was never completed does not mean that it was not used. During the Civil War it was used as a prison for Yankee deserters. Union forces were able to use this fort because they were able to control Florida’s large coastline rather quickly with their superior naval fleet. While Florida did secede from the Union it had a large population of Union sympathizers. Check out my earlier blog post Today in Florida to learn a little more about Florida’s role in the Civil War.

Dr. Mudd as he appeared when working in the carpenter's shop in the prison at Fort Jefferson.

Ft. Jefferson’s most famous prisoner wasn’t even a soldier. He was Dr. Samuel Mudd. Dr. Samuel Mudd was accused and found guilty of conspiracy to murder President Lincoln. He met with John Wilkes Booth in his home and Washington before the assassination of Lincoln in Ford’s Theatre. He was considered part of the conspiracy after setting Booth’s broken leg and giving him crutches to aid him in his movement. He did not report Booth until the next day after Booth left his home in southern Maryland. Mudd at first was considered just a witness until he lied about meeting Booth before the assassination. He was sentenced to life in prison at Ft. Jefferson. On September 25, 1865 he attempted escape when he learned that control of the fort was being transferred to a colored. He was quickly captured and put to hard labor building the fort in leg irons. In 1867 an outbreak of yellow fever occured and Mudd used his skills as a doctor to help end the epidemic. It was this work during the yellow fever outbreak that earned him his pardon by President Andrew Johnson in 1869. He was in prison for four years. After his release he returned home and restarted his practice.

Ft. Jefferson was made into an official National Park in 1992. People can visit the park and even camp on the grounds. For more information please visit the Dry Tortugas National Park (U.S. National Park Service).

The Boo Radleys Wake up! (1995, Creation/Columbia)

And it looks like another rainy day / Sittin’ here lonely by my window / Waiting for you to come on home” ) .

This post is for the June blogchain through Absolutewrite. It doesn’t have a theme which makes it a little easier for me since this blog is specific to Florida. The topic started out with Global Warming and moseyed through personal responsibility and corporate waste. Forbidden Snowflake then wrote about national disaster for her country Switzerland and would the EU help if their economy collapsed. So I thought talking about hurricanes that affected Florida would be great because nothing effects a state like a national disaster.

Great Miami Hurricane 1926: During the Roaring 20’s in the United States Florida was having a land boom. People were buying lots of land sight unseen. If you’ve ever heard the phrase, “Yeah, and I have some land in Florida I want to sell you.” This is the time period it comes from because it was unbelievable. If you ever tour the everglades you might still come across a sign that might look likes the one to the right.

” Edit Resource for “Photographs depicting Seminole Indians with dugout canoes, 1920-1928 (bulk 1920) [electronic resource] “”]
Screenshot for "Photographs depicting Seminole Indians with dugout canoes, 1920-1928 (bulk 1920) [electronic resource

Land in Miami and all over Southern Florida was being bought up. Every bubble bursts and the land boom ended in 1925 and came to a complete standstill September 18th, 1926 with the arrival of a category 4 hurricane whose eye was directly over Miami. This hurricane caused $90 billion dollars in damaged if it had hit Miami today. 800 people went missing along with 373 deaths and 6,381 injuries. It proved to non-Floridians who were the ones most likely dead, missing, and injured that Florida was a dangerous place to live. Since most of these folks left shelter when the eye took half an hour to pass over Miami leaving many to believe that the storm was over. Their unfamiliarity with hurricanes was the death blow of Florida’s land boom. The Great Depression was soon to follow but most of Florida was already there in 1929.

This storm does not have a name because hurricanes and tropical storms were not given names until 1953 and they were all female until 1979 when the National Weather Service began alternating between male and female names.

Florida Keys Labor Day Hurricane 1935: On September 2, 1935 a category 5 hurricane ripped through the keys leaving 408 dead and $6 million in damages. Flagler’s Miami/Key West line of the railroad was so damaged that it was sold to the state. Most of the deaths from this unnamed hurricane were World War I veterans.

<img title="Henry Morrison Flagler Investor, Developer, and Entrepreneur January 2, 1830 – May 20, 1913" src="http://www.nrrhof.org/images/Henry%20Flagler.jpg" alt="Built the Miami/Key West line of the railroad that later became known as Flaglers Folly.
They were part of the Bonus Army that first visited the White House when Hoover was in office to demand the bonus they were to recieve in 1945 early. They were chased away from the White House but later brought their greivances to FDR. He enlisted them in the WPA and gave them work building a bridge from the mainland to the keys to replace the ferry service that was in current use.

Due to red tape, confusion, and a lack of communication the evacuation of the veterans by the train was delayed and overturned by a tidal wave during the hurricane. The World War I veterans who were only given temporary shelters that could not withstand a hurricane were lost. As you cross the 7-mile bridge, also called the overseas highway, you can still see what remains of Flagler’s Folly.

Pavement Wowee zowee (1995, Big Cat)

Ci-joint la country nonchalante de “Father to a sister of thought”
