Reasons to be cheerful on a rainy Sunday afternoon:

Ipswich win, after coming from behind, at Cardiff City. We play attacking football for the entire second half. We create clear-cut chances. We take three points from one of the best sides in the league.

Damien Delaney is man of the match at centre half. Arran Lee-Barett makes a successful debut. 700 Ipswich fans sing Roy Keane’s name as the Cardiff fans stream out.

Jon Walters scores a blinder. Jon Stead scores the winner.  I’m going to score something spicy with some cubes of lamb in it, and dance around the kitchen.

Thanks Roy. Come on you blues!

6 meses después de la publicación de la versión 2.0, el equipo de KOffice ha presentado la versión 2.1, centrada en mejorar las novedades incorporadas en la anterior versión e incorporar algunas nuevas.

Puede que aún no sea una suite ofimática capaz de sustituir al OpenOffice o al MS Office, pero una cosa está clara, al ritmo que está mejorando muy pronto se pondrá a la misma altura. Sin duda, una suite ofimática a la que prestar mucha atención y que además es multiplataforma.

This morning I learned how to get a datetimepicker working in a Struts 2.1 application.

Firstly, the dojo library needs to be added to the project, so add the following to your pom.xml:

Next add the dojo tags library to the JSP pages that need it:

And reference it from your form:

Take notice of the following points from http://struts.apache.org/2.x/docs/datetimepicker.html:

• The head tag must be included on the page, which can be configured for performance or debugging purposes.
• If the parseContent parameter for the head tag is false (it is false by default), then the id tag is required.

The bit I missed at first is that the head tag that must be included is the one from the plugin, not just the normal struts one, so I end up with:

Saber perder es una virtud que no consiste únicamente en resignarse, si no en sacarle partido a una derrota: aprender dónde se ha fallado, qué se puede mejorar, etc.

Sin embargo cuando uno/a se acostumbra a la victoria, la derrota es amarga y duele más que antes de las buenas rachas.

La selección argentina perdió ayer contra la española dos a uno (2-1) en un partido “amistoso”.

“[...] era el partido del centenario de la federación española y les correspondía ganar a ellos, así celebraban mejor la fiesta”.

Estas fueron las irónicas palabras del cada día más polémico Maradona, quien como futbolista hizo historia y ahora como entrenador parece que más bien la está deshaciendo.

Ni una sola palabra crítica hacia su trabajo, ni hacia el equipo.  ¿Qué han sacado de todo esto? Nada.

Argentina siempre ha sido una durísima selección y un auténtico espectáculo del fútbol, sin embargo desde que D.A. Maradona tomó las riendas del equipo parece haberse venido a menos.

I’d never seen a ram on a pitch before last week, and in all honesty we probably should have sacrificed it to the Gods before yesterday evenings match against Derby County. In all honesty, we probably should have played well.

For the second week in a row, we had an excellent chance. Playing a side which had suffered three defeats in a row and which had just lost to Ipswich Town with 16 first team players missing. We couldn’t ram home (yes, I’m hilarious) that advantage, however, despite an excellent start, and in the end we suffered another defeat. According to The Times, in the first half we “kept the ball with an efficient simplicity.” Now, as far as I could see, we barely touched it after Leon’s lovely strike, and Derby were all over us.

It wasn’t surprising when Derby equalised, then. Shocking defending yet again, with 3 players on the right ball watching, Eastwood not tracking back, and Ward leaving his man; leaving (Van Aanholt?) to mark two players, which is a somewhat difficult activity. It also left Dimi Konstantopolous stretching for the ball in vain and the Derby fans celebrating, with the us Sky Blue fans exasperated.

After Derby’s equaliser, I felt we started to play better. We carved out a few opportunities, but there was no real variation. I can’t remember Eastwood touching the ball in the second half (although I can’t remember him ever looking like he wanted to), as we were constantly coming down the right. Derby’s defence dealt with this fairly comfortably, something even our latest loan signing worth £2.5 million didn’t look too good at, although he was much better than certain other members of Coventry’s back line.

The second goal, again, epitomised our defensive failings. A decent cross in which I feel Dimi should have come for, and he would have got if he hadn’t stopped. However, you can’t blame Dimi for the constant defensive mishaps; Dickov pulled it back and, there was Hulse unmarked, with two Sky Blue defenders ball watching. Take nothing away from Hulse, it was an excellent finish.

Then…the red card. I cannot believe how that could have been a red card. 50/50 challenge, Savage gets there first, fair enough. Not a second booking. But Savage’s reaction was an absolute disgrace. If Clarke was going to get a booking for the challenge, Savage had to get a booking for his reaction. It takes a special dive to give yourself a nosebleed.

After that…well, not much really happened for the Sky Blue fans to get excited about, Derby were the better side and Dimi Konstantopolous saved us from a second succesive 3-1 defeat with a truely superb penalty save. The five minutes of injury time, and the madcap attacks we put forward made it look like we’d get something – it did most certainly look like a Teale handball on the edge of the area about three minutes in to injury time. But, at the end of the day, you can’t defend as poorly as we did and expect to get away with it. And Coleman; YOU MUST START BRINGING STIKERS ON WHEN WE’RE BEHIND.

Ratings

Best – 8 – worked hard all night with little reward.

Dimi – 7 – excellent penalty save, dealt well with most things.

Cork – 7 – played well, no idea why he was brought off.

Clarke – 6 – sympathy vote goes to him.

Next match is vs Crystal Palace after the International Break.

Quite the courageous performance by the Sharks, despite losing to the Detroit Red Wings 2-1, in a shootout. It ends their six-game winning streak, but they keep in-tact their seven-game point streak. Thinking about all the adversity the Sharks face coming into this game, it’s hard to be mad at them for not pulling this one out.

Allow me to discuss some of that opposition.

Let’s start with the obvious: the Sharks are injured. It’s like Stalingrad in San Jose. Players injured consist of Ryan Vesce, Devin Setoguchi, Torrey Mitchell, Joe Pavelski and Rob Blake. None of those guys are expendable. Maybe Vesce, but remember he was scoring like crazy on the top line. Dany Heatley got hit hard in tonight’s game and all fans held their breath. He returned and looked fine, however.

The Sharks called up Derek Joslin and Joe Callahan. Yea, that creates a hell of a lot of opposition when you call up those two.

This was the second of back-to-back games.

The Sharks have been on the road seemingly the whole season. Constant travel and stinky motel rooms will do a number on you.

The Sharks never win in Detroit. This is just a weird fact of life. They have a few wins at the Joe, but San Jose always finds a way to come out with a loss there.

And this is all before opening faceoff! Yet, these guys came out, exhausted, lethargic and earned a point. Outstanding.

Logan Couture scored his first goal of his career tonight on a wrister between the legs of goalie Chris Osgood. I really wish this kid could get a better opportunity with a higher line rather than meandering around with Jody Shelley. With the injuries, he’s going to be sent back down to Worcester, so put him on the top or second line for a few shifts. See what happens.

OK, so let’s jump out of Optimismville and get into some criticism, shall we? Goalie Evgeni Nabokov gives me heart attacks with his puck handling. He’s been giving the puck away to opposition on a consistent basis lately. I realize he wants a quick breakout — maybe because the Sharks’ breakouts have struggled — but Nabby, don’t put your team behind by doing something you aren’t required to do.

The Sharks power play forecheck was abismal tonight. I’m sure part of it was exhaustion, but they allowed a bunch of 2-on-1s and 3-on-2s tonight, while on the man advantage. Patch that up pronto.

The shootout was ugly for the Sharks. They didn’t convert on either chance and Nabby allowed two out of 3 chances. Ryane Clowe used the same exact move he’s used in the last two shootouts. It worked the first time, but the last two chances were easy stops for the goalie. Either come up with a new move for stay on the bench.

Brad Staubitz

Bitz was a healthy scratch tonight, presumably because coach Todd McClellan was angry with his penalties against the Blue Jackets last game. He received 17 minutes worth of penalties after a fight with Jared Boll. He was eligible to return in the game, but Todd kept him benched. As a result, Couture only had Shelley as a linemate. Bitz better keep his head together. I haven’t see Todd keep anyone in a doghouse, but there’s a first for everything.

Other Notes

Hit-O-Meter: SJ 27  DET 32; Scott Nichol, Joe Thornton and Douglas Murray combined for 14 of those.

The Sharks go home for a week, and they will play three games at HP Pavillion against Pittsburgh, Nashville and Dallas, in that order. I think Thomas Greiss needs to spell Nabby for Pittsburgh on Saturday. I know it’s baptism by fire, but Nabby needs a break.

La Roma vince contro il Fulham in una partita non facile che la vede prima andare sotto e poi riemergere dalle ceneri di un brutto primo tempo.

La Roma deve fare a meno dei lungo degenti Totti e Juan ai quali si aggiungono anche Burdisso e Vucinic. In difesa titolare Andreolli a far coppia con Mexes e sulle fasce Riise e Cassetti. Cicinho titolare sulla fascia di centrocampo insieme a De Rossi, Pizarro e Guberti. In attacco a riposo Menez sostituito da Julio Baptista che fa coppia con Okaka. Per il Fulham 11 titolare.

Il primo tempo: Roma molto macchinosa che non riesce a costruire azioni decenti. Fulham totalmente in difensiva ma al primo affondo Andreolli sdraia in area Kamara ed è rigore. Dal dischetto va proprio Kamara che non sbaglia. 1-0 per il Fulham alla prima ed unica azione della partita. La Roma non ci sta: da un cross di Cicinho interviene Mexes e palla di poco sul fondo.
Il Fulham prova a farsi rivedere ma stavolta Andreolli non commette errori. Baptista prova la rovesciata ma senza successo. Al 42′ la Roma recrimina un rigore per un evidente fallo di mano su tiro di Mexes, ma l’arbitro lascia correre. La Roma ci prova ma senza mai riuscirci e termina il primo tempo tra i fischi della curva.

Il secondo tempo: Ranieri lascia sotto la doccia Doni e Cicinho ed entrano Julio Sergio e Taddei. Hodgson fa entrare Nevland al posto di Kamara. Scelta quantomai sbagliata: dopo soli 4′ Nevland atterra De Rossi con un fallaccio da dietr e per l’arbitro è espulsione diretta. In superiorità numerica la Roma continua a non macinare gioco ma i vari tentativi di Guberti, Taddei e Julio Baptista cominciano a preoccupare la difesa inglese. Entra anche Menez al posto di Guberti. Al 23′ arriva finalmente il gol della Roma: sugli sviluppi di un corner Riise calcia uno dei suoi soliti bolidi da fuori area e con la complicità di Schwarzer (che forse non vede partire il pallone e forse viene tratto in inganno da una leggera deviazione di Bjorn Riise) pareggia i conti. Ancora la Roma con De Rossi ma il tiro finisco di poco alto. Solo 6′ dopo il gol la Roma raddoppia: Taddei crossa al centro Okaka incorna di testa e Schwarzer (ancora colpevole) non trattiene. Okaka viene sommerso dai compagni!!! La Roma non è paga del risultato e Okaka prova una mezza rovesciata che però non impensierisce Schwarzer. Il Fulham rimane addirittura in 9 per espulsione di Konchesky per un grave fallo su De Rossi.
A pochi minuti dal termine Julio Baptista manca un gol piuttosto semplice ma speriamo che se lo sia tenuto per la prossima volta, per ora va bene anche così.

Pro & Contro

Pro: Sicuramente Andreolli dopo un inizio cosi cosi si fa perdonare del clamoroso fallo con degli interventi e delle uscite sempre sicure e pulite. De Rossi viene falcidiato dai falli ma gioca una partita di grandissima quantità nonostante siamo abituati ad un più alto standard qualitativo. Okaka ci mette grinta e voglia e viene giustamente ripagato. Riise perfetto sia in attacco che in difesa. Un plauso anche a Ranieri che azzecca i cambi.
Contro: Nonostante la superiorità numerica sembrava la Roma in 10. Cicinho e Julio Baptista sono lontani anni luce dalla forma migliore. Guberti tanta voglia e poco più: non azzecca nè dribbling nè cross.

Ya está aquí la segunda versión estable de Moblin (hace poco fue la 2.0) Tenéis todas las novedades aquí pero os resumo y traduzco las más importantes.

• Nuevo navegador web – Todos recordaréis el anterior. Muy bonito pero poco práctico. En esta versión ya soporta plugins, complementos y funciona mucho más rápido.
• Instalación de programas – El nuevo instalador de aplicaciones de Moblin organiza las aplicaciones (al estilo Ubuntu Software Center) y se integra perfectamente en el escritorio.
• Clutter 1.0 – No sabréis qué es, pero gracias a este paquete Moblin luce así de bien. Esto implica mejoras de estabilidad y efectos más naturales.
• Soporte para Bluetooth – Ahora hay un nuevo paner para configurar dispositivos bluetooth como móviles, auriculares, teclados, etc.
• Gestor de redes mejorado – ConnMan, el gestor de redes que usa Moblin ha sido mejorado y ahora soporta conexiones 3G, WiMAX.

Además de estas novedades se han actualizado numerosos paquetes destacando el kernel (2.6.31), los drivers gráficos de Intel (2.9) y el servidor gráfico X (1.6.4)

La Roma riemerge da una brutta serie di 3 sconfitte in Campionato contro Milan, Livorno e Udinese grazie ad una buona prestazione contro il Bologna.

In casa Roma ancora assente Burdisso e gli squalificati Taddei e De Rossi  ma recuperati Pizarro, Riise e Menez. Vucinic guida ancora l’attacco mentre a centrocampo confermato a destra Guberti. Nel Bologna Di Vaio ed Adailton guidano l’attacco.

Il primo tempo: Gara piuttosto senza emozioni con la sola Roma che calcia una serie inquietante di calci d’angolo senza successo. Tiriamo in porta solamente con le punizioni di Riise e ci affidiamo alla fantasia di Menez. Ma sul più bello dopo 32′ Pizarro viene contrastato da Mingazzini a centrocampo e scatta il contropiede del Bologna: Di Vaio rimette al centro e Adailton firma l’1-0. Quarta rete stagionale in sei gare per lui. Fischi di tutto l’Olimpico per la Roma che comunque prova a rifarsi sotto. E non tarda molto il pareggio che arriverà solo 3′ dopo: Pizarro mette al centro, un rimpallo con un tocco di mano involtontario di Perrotta carambola sui piedi di Motta che tira, ancora un rimpallo e finalmente Vucinic si sblocca ed infila la 1a. rete stagionale. Non esulta, esultano i compagni. Ancora Roma: Motta riceve un pallone da Vucinic ma il tiro viene deviato e finisce a 2 passi dalla porta.

Il secondo tempo: Esce Juan per Andreolli. Sembra che ci sia solo la Roma. Ci prova Guberti che lancia un pallone in mezzo che passa inaspettatamente ma Vucinic non se l’aspettava e tira come può. Il Bologna sembra arrendersi: Menez si invola alla grande e fa partire un bel destro che Viviano non trattiene e Perrotta anticipa tutti e infila il 2-1. Urlo liberatorio e destr0 anche alla bandierina del corner che va in frantumi (Cassano docet). Vucinic, imbeccato da Pizarro con un delizioso cross, anticipa e colpisce di testa ma Viviano si supera. Entrano Julio Baptista e Cicinho per Menez e Motta entrambi con piccoli risentimenti muscolari. Andreolli ci prova un paio di volte ma la palla non ne vuole sapere di entrare. Ci prova Osvaldo per il Bologna, ma è solo un brivido e niente di più.

Pro & Contro

Pro: Mexes e Juan sono 2 giganti in difesa non perdono un colpo e giocano sempre pulito. Finalmente si sblocca Vucinic. Menez ha voglia e gioca indistintamente in attacco e in difesa dimostrandosi efficace in tutte e due le manovre. Perrotta corre come un ossesso per 95′.
Contro: Pizarro gioca una discreta gara ma la sua prestazione è macchiata dall’errore che permette il gol di Adailton. Guberti non sembra ancora aver quel passo in più nonostante dei buoni spunti in fase offensiva.
