Release Date : 2007

Genre : Comedy | Horror

Plot :Necroville is the second feature length motion picture from C.R. Productions. It is the story of a town in New Mexico inexpicably overrun with horrors of the night. But despite the pervasive infestation of Vampires, Werewolves, Zombies, Chupacabra and others, life goes on. Necroville is not a story about the fall of civilization or even a post apocalyptic society, rather, a comedy that takes it a look at how even the worst of horrors can be an everyday commonplace nuisance.

Why Hasn't Ron Paul Backed Bill HR 104?
It seems like he would have been one of the first to jump on board. Why hasn’t he?

A synopsis of the bill:

SECTION 1. ESTABLISHMENT OF COMMISSION.

•There is established the National Commission on Presidential War Powers and Civil Liberties (hereinafter in this Act referred to as the `Commission’) to investigate the broad range of policies of the Administration of President George W. Bush that were undertaken under claims of unreviewable war powers, including detention by the United States Armed Forces and the intelligence community, the use by the United States Armed Forces or the intelligence community of enhanced interrogation techniques or interrogation techniques not authorized by the Uniform Code of Military Justice, `ghosting’ or other policies intended to conceal the fact that an individual has been captured or detained, extraordinary rendition, domestic warrantless electronic surveillance, and other policies that the Commission may determine to be relevant to its investigation (hereinafter in this Act referred to as `the activities’).

A list of it’s supporters:

Just for the record, my rep hasn’t signed on either. She’s useless.
Edit@Terran3: Nooo. Not quite what I’m saying. I’m saying our ‘representatives’ need to either adhere to the constitution and our principals, or be held accountable for their bullsh!t. But now that you mention it… maybe a vote of the people and a little transparency before going to war would be refreshing.

 Ok. Signed and sent.

 PrivacyNowPlease! | Jun 01, 2009

I’m not sure why, I think he stated something about letting the past go to concentrate on the future as we have so many problems.

I’m a little biased when it comes to him so I’ll be quiet.
Ron Paul 2012?
ou812 | Jun 01, 2009

So basically your saying that congress should have power over the military. Why don’t people read the Constitution anymore?

Article 2 / Section 2
"The President shall be commander in chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several states, when called into the actual service of the United States"

The president has complete control over the military and may send them wherever he wants, whenever he wants.
Thanks for the link. My rep signed, but it never hurts to drop a line!!

A lot of twists and turns await in The Number 23 by Joel Schumacher. Walter Sparrow (Jim Carrey) is a loving husband and father who is an animal control officer. His life is turned upside-down when he is late to meet his wife after being bitten by a dog whilst on duty. To pass the time his wife, Agatha (Virginia Madsen), browses around in a book store and buys him a book to read entitled The Number 23. As he reads it he encounters a lot of similarities between his own life and the life of the protagonist, Fingerling. In the novel Fingerling is a detective who tries to stop a girl from committing suicide, but does not succeed in his efforts. The girl was haunted by the number twenty-three as was her father before her, and now the number is coming after him. In turn, Walter begins to see the number twenty-three everywhere. When he again encounters the dog that initially bit him, it leads him to the grave of a young woman called Laura Tollins. As his life starts to unravel, it becomes apparent that there is indeed much truth to his obsession with the book. But he might not like what he finds…

Although I found the film to be a big disappointment, I must admit that the cinematography and camera techniques were absolutely excellent. Too bad they do not save the film from its downfall. The trailer, which enthralled me, is quite deceiving. It creates the impression of a conspiracy-theory film about the significance of the number twenty-three. When viewed in totality, however, the film lapses into another stereotype thriller. It tries to be too clever for its own good and relies on far-fetched twists and turns to create several incredulous elements of surprise.

I believe that the numerology topic has a lot of potential, but that it did not reach its full potential in this film. SPOILER WARNING! DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT YET WATCHED THE FILM: The idea of destiny finding its way to Walter and making him pay for his sins is spread too thick. It is quite unbelievable that such a loving father and husband could also be a callous murderer. And his wife and son’s reactions to his previous life is quite unconvincing as well. Where is the outraged confusion? The heartache? The resentment? The film ends with such hopeful closure which would upstage The Brady Bunch. And Walter’s repentance at the end seems too good to be true – like a superficial, pretentious sermon. But who am I to judge? My sins are bound to find me out as well. Hopefully my skeletons aren’t as dark as Walter’s though… SPOILERS END HERE.

Amy was the daughter of Miles Leroy Hineman and Elizabeth Ann Rowan.

She was born 30 Jun 1896, in Tomah, Wisconsin. She married Earl Benjamin Scott and moved to Eau Claire Co., Wisconsin. Earl was born 16 May 1891 and lived in Augusta.

-From the Tomah Journal, 02 Oct 1914

A quiet wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M.L. Hineman of the town of Tomah on Thursday, Sept. 24th, when their youngest daughter Amy was united in marriage to Mr. Earl Scott of Augusta. The ceremony was performed at noon by Rev. Jonathan G. Smith of the Congregational church. Only the immediate relatives of the contracting parties were present. A wedding dinner was served and the newly wedded couple took the afternoon train for La Crosse. They intended to go from there to Milwaukee but were called back next day by the death of a nephew of the bride. They left Tuesday for Augusta where they will make their home, Mr. Scott being engaged in the moving picture business there. We join with the bride’s many friends in wishing them happiness and prosperity.

NOTE: The nephew mentioned was Virgil Frederick Hineman, son of Ralph W. Hineman, Amy’s brother. He died from TB, as did the wife (Bessie Martin, died Aug 1914) of Amy’s oldest brother, Gardie.

Robert Scott

AUGUSTA : Robert Scott, 86, of E19110 County Road N, Augusta, passed away at his home Wednesday morning, May 30, 2007.

Robert Miles Scott, son of Earl and Amy (Hineman) Scott, was born January 16, 1921, in Scott?s Valley, rural Augusta. At the age of 2, he moved into the city of Augusta, where he attended grade school and graduated from Augusta High School. He was united in marriage to Loradean “Eny” Harke on February 7, 1940, in Cresco, Iowa. The couple lived all their married life in Augusta. During WW II, Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theatre, stationed mainly in China. Bob had been employed in Eau Claire by Dolly Madison Dairies and Gillette Tire Company before taking a job with Northern States Power Company in 1950. During his 32 years of employment with NSP, he worked as a ground man, lineman and eventually as the district manager in the Augusta office. Since February of 2006, he had enjoyed making his home with his son and daughter-in-law in Ludington Township, rural Augusta.

Bob took pride in his community, and throughout his life volunteered his time for the betterment of Augusta. For many years he had been a member of the Augusta-Bridge Creek Fire Dept., where he had served as secretary-treasurer. In the 1960s, during the construction years of the elementary school, he had served on the Augusta School Board. He also served on the Augusta Nursing Home Building Committee and eventually on the Nursing Home Board. Since 1950, he was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, where he served in various capacities. He served on the Augusta Cemetery Board, and was an active member and officer with the Augusta Lions Club, American Legion, and past commander of the Augusta VFW Post. He was a member of the Eau Claire County Conservation League, and during this time was instrumental in establishing the Eau Claire County Public Hunting Grounds and Coon Fork Lake. While working for NSP, he became a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union, and in 1970 was awarded the Citizen of the Year for NSP.

Bob enjoyed the time he spent coaching girls softball teams and being involved with his children and grandchildren?s activities. He was an avid deer hunter, and looked forward to the annual family hunts. He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, pool and bowling.

He is survived by his son, William and Kathryn Scott; daughter-in-law, Lynda Scott; brother, Allen and Elaine Scott; and sister, Rose and Don Grams, all of Augusta; four grandchildren, Jon Scott, Michelle (Don) Wade, all of Kenosha, David (Lisa) Scott of Omro and Richard (Kristine) Scott of Sherwood; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eny, on October 26, 1990; son, Larry Scott, on December 9, 2003; and siblings, Elizabeth Campbell, June Cain, Kathryn Hanson, Richard Scott and infant brother, John Scott.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta. Burial, with military rites conducted by the Augusta VFW and American Legion, will be held in the East Lawn Cemetery, Augusta.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Augusta VFW Post, Augusta Lions Club or Augusta Cemetery Association.

-From the Leader Telegram, 01 Jun 2007 Eau Claire, WI

*****

I would love to hear from any descendants of Earl Scott and Amy Hineman, and am hoping they might be able to provide more information and/or pictures, especially of the Hineman family. Amy’s brother Gardie, was my great-grandfather, and I don’t have any pictures of him or his first wife, Olive Bessie Martin.

Amy had a sister, Pearl, who lived in Augusta as well. Pearl was married to Ralph W. Bowen, and from what I can tell, they never had any children of their own. However, according to one census record, my grandfather, Nathan Hineman was living with them shortly after his mother died from TB.

Any info would be appreciated!

Kings Of Leon were one of those bands. They had released 2 very good albums before becoming somewhat mainstream, and then 1 album that brought them to the eye of the general public. But TJ, if you don’t like bands like that, why did you pick Kings Of Leon? Well, I’m getting to that. Kings Of Leon deserve to get the popularity they are getting now, and despite my previous statements of disliking bands such as Kings Of Leon, I believe they deserve acknowledgement. This is why I have chosen On Call. QUite possibly the best song from their 2007 album Because Of The Times. The song opens with an eerie ambient effect that quickly turns into vocals. These vocals carry an almost lazy drawl that perfectly matches the tone of the song. Then the bassline kicks in, and my, what a bassline it is. The bass carries the entire song from that point on. Even as Caleb Followill’s voice almost screams the words “be there“, the bass line does not let up, carrying the same beat the whole way, only stopping for the slight pause prior to the chorus. The actual meaning of the song is paper thin; it’s about a relationship and the need to be ‘on call’ and ever ready for the other. But despite the originality of the song’s lyrics, this is one strange song in which, if the guitar and drums were taken out and left only the bass and vocals, an amazing song would still exist in full.

When Kings Of Leon released their second album Aha Shake Heartbreak in 2004, there was an amazingly sweet song named Milk present. The song is driven by the sparse acoustic guitar and drawn out vocals (and the bass, later on), but it’s such a sweet song that at no point do you actually realise what is going on. I’ve never been able to listen to the song and actually focus on what is being said or done in the song. I am sucked into the song’s beauty every time, and resultantly I have no idea what ever goes on. Regardless, while it is a beautiful song, On Call wins out because it is not only the first Kings Of Leon song that I heard and liked, but it’s because it epitomises the indie rock that seems to be becoming less and less common.

Well after a disturbingly depressing few weeks FilmWipe365 is back with a bang. My illness has gone

Well after a disturbingly depressing few weeks FilmWipe365 is back with a bang. My illness has gone (again I have not got VD as several people emailed so don’t worry you will not got a bout of te clap from reading this). If I had planned this better I would have reviewed the Korean film The Presidents Last Bang, however, I am lazy and heading to morbid obesity and didn’t think of this incredibly funny joke early enough. I feel slightly ashamed to come back with this film. It is like Robbie Williams 2007 return Rudebox – the first album in music history that made people want to get syphilis in their ears. What makes the film worst is not the fact that you have to read another excruciatingly long review about how much I hated watching it, nor that I wish everyone involved with the film a short and painful career. It is instead the fact that I was actually excited about watching it and instead had my hopes crushed much like David Furnish when he thought It’s a Boy Girl Thing would stop him from having to spounge off his sugar daddy Elton John. Rudo y Cursi – the mainstream vehicle for Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal – is frankly the weakest film I have had the misforune to watch for sometime and actually left me begging to watch films of the quality of the Break up and Eight Legged Freaks.

The film follows the brothers nicknamed Rudo (Diego Luna) and Cursi (Gael Garcia Bernal) on their journey from the bannana plantations in rural Mexico to super stardom playing football for two of the nations biggest teams. It all kicks off for them when Batuta (a soccer scout) breaks down near their town. After helping to fix his car the brothers compete against one another to get him to represent them. Cursi wins and leaves their provincial home for Mexico City. He is a big success and finishes as top scorer in his first season, which gives him the opportunity to follow his real passion, music.  Rudo has it a bit tougher. Several months after Cursi, Batuta gives Rudo an opportunity with a rubbish team. He leaves his wife and children to follow his dream. After stuggling to get a place in the team in his first season he fortunately finds himself in the top flight. The second season in football contrasts hugely for the pair. Cursi has lost form due to his relationship with a tv star and is on the verge of being sent to a lower division club. Rudo, is close to becoming the best goal keeper in the history of the league. However, his gambling addiction has left him owing money to some dangerous criminals and in the game against Cursi’s team he is asked to throw the game. He is left with the dilema of following his dream or doing what he is told.

Well after what is possibly the longest description of a film in review history, I will get down to business (I can hear the sense of relief). Until Cursi leaves for Mexico the film is desperately dull. The film offers very little about the depressing poverty that the pair grow up in. In some ways this is good, however there is hardly anything interesting. And when you do get a flash of something interesting you’re so bored that you struggle to notice it (such as the abuse by her boyfriend of the pairs mother). Cursi on his own in Mexico city is abut as exciting as staring at a beie wll for 15 hours. It is so difficult to stay awake only repeated attempts at self harm will stop you from seeing most of the film with your eyes closed.Â

Personally the most excruciating aspect of the film is Rudo’s gambling addiction. From about 2 minutes into him arriving in Mexico city you quickly guess where the story is going. It takes about 40 minutes to get to the point that you had magically predicted. It is so painful to watch that cutting off my penis, cooking it on an open fire and then sharing it with a small Mongolian family as I slowly bleed to death seems a tempting alternative. There is nothing I loath more than being able to predict what is going to happen.

If I had my way Radovan Karadžićy would not be the only one in the Hague waiting to serve trial for crimes against humanity. Director Carlos Cauron deserves to be sentenced to a life punishment for what he has done to cinema. Technically the film is ok. However, as the boy genius who wrote and directed this horror show he takes full credit for the misery he has brought on the world. The script is terrible. Even his mum would struggle to tell him that this was any good. The dialogue between characters is so turgid it makes watching paint dry genuinely seem quite exiting. His direction does little to excite the senses. Worst of all he manages to make two excellent actors seem like David Arquette. This is quite a skill as David Arquette is so bad that even genital crabs seem like Oscar nominated actors in comparison to him.

Overall this should be avoided at all costs. Even football thugs will be bored as you only see about 1 minute of football. Save money and do something else.

1/10 – If I couldgive minus figures Iwould but I don’t want to give it the infamy.

Le puse demasiada fe, una montaña rusa que empezaba en The Royal Tenembaums, seguía The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou y finalizaba en The Darjeeling Linited.

**
[Francis y Peter están peliando]
Francis: You don’t love me!
Peter: Yes I do!
Jack: I love you too, but I’m gonna mace you in the face!
**
Jack: I wonder if the three of us would’ve been friends in real life. Not as brothers, but as people.
**
Rita: What’s wrong with you?
Jack: Let me think about that. I’ll tell you the next time I see you.
Rita: Okay, let’s do that
Jack: Thank you for using me
Rita: (suspiro entrecortado) You are welcome
**
Jack: Which direction did your’s go?
Francis: What do you mean?
Jack: Your feathers… mine blew toward the mountains
Francis: That’s not right. It’s not suppose to get blown away. You’re suppose to blow on it then bury it.
Peter: I didn’t get that. I still have mine.
Francis: You guys didn’t do it right. I asked if you read the instructions. You did it wrong… I tried my hardest. I don’t know what to do.
**
Francis: How did it get to this? Why haven’t we spoken in a year? Let’s make an agreement.
Peter: To do what?
Jack: Okay.
**
Francis: A: I want us be become brothers again like we used to be and for us to find ourselves and bond with each other. Can we agree to that?
Peter: Okay.
Peter: Yeah.
Francis: B. I want us to make this trip a spiritual journey where each of us seek the unknown, and we learn about it. Can we agree to that?
Jack: Sure.
Peter: I guess so.
Francis: C. I want us to be completely open and say yes to everything even if it’s shocking and painful. Can we agree to that?”

Directed By: David Gordon Green
Written By: David Gordon Green; Based On The Novel By: Stewart O’Nan
Cinematography By: Tim Orr

Cast: Kate Beckinsale, Sam Rockwell, Olivia Thirlby, Amy Sedaris, Tom Noonan, Nicky Katt

I consider this a coming of age film less for centering around kids which most coming of age films caress at the center even though this film does have teenage characters this is more of a coming of age film for the adults who populate this story it is a sobering story that shows that most of these characters in there own way need to grow up and are in the process of doing it.

The main story of annie and Glen are like two characters who populate a country song once in love and as they grow older seperate but find they need each other because the days of dreams are coming to a end and reality is hitting hardcore. I think there story will ring true with a lot of audience members as it is a story that is happening more and more in different cultures around the world.

The film just like it’s snowy scenery has a emotional coldness and stillness that adds a hovering cloud of doom and desperation that is a cloud that never leaves this film.

The True Revelation here is Kate Beckinsale I have never really seen her in a dramatic part before and she goes with full flying colors she is excellent especially in the quiet emotional moments she has as much talent as she has beauty. Not that the rest of the cast is weak it is surprising to see Amy Sedaris who I have only seen in comedies in a dramatic part for once it’s a nice change. Sam Rockwell is good but I have come so accustomed to seeing him do great in any role he has taken it’s just a given he is going to be excellent why he is not touted in the same great acting circles as Ryan Gosling and Leonardo Dicaprio is puzzling maybe because he is rarely in studio films and constantly is working in the independent film arena.

David Gordon Green continues his style as the modern equivalent to Terrence Malick as chronicler of small town American life and exposes more of the reality of the situations that characters find themselves in without overdoing it as much as mainstream cinema will allow. I mean he doesn’t make Mumblecore movie about hipsters or go with ultra realism as Kelly Richert director of old joy but he definatley has a original voice all his own when it comes to cinema he is a gifted director and this film isn’t a disappointment not as good as his previous work but a good standardÂ

I say rent but prepared it’s not a feel good film which makes it all the more realistic people don’t pay for being wrong or bad life just goes on nothing comes out the way you expect it too.
