PNM [Penemue] is a facility for biomaterial production, research and implementation. It investigates the production of language through the practice of regenerative medicine being used for the restoration and augmentation of the physical human body.

BouTEAque is a project that seeks to connect the sensibility of music, the sequential experience of tea drinking and the everyday aspects of manufacturing and production. The output is a spatial composition, which oscillates between the big heavy machinery involved in the tea production and the small soft sensual elements used for ceremonial spaces.

Starting off with imagining Mr Spiegelhalter’s life, the project articulates the struggle that small individual workshops face today, situated in a world of commercialised mass production lines. It is proposed to bring back to life the beauty of custom made objects, the knowing of who your customers are and therefore the identity of a place.

An ethical imagination of a symbiotic infrastructure which processes domestic waste produced by local households within close proximity via composting and recycling, at the same time generating allotments which could directly feed back into individual families.

The Spitalfields House of Paper explores the possibility of merging all aspects of the production of the written word, managed and maintained by a single artist. It investigates the fragile balance between the industrial and the intellectual processes, opposing the rough heavy steel of industry machines and the light delicate properties of paper.

Comeback Makes it Four From Four for the Beers

After disappointment in the Jock Mitchell Trophy last week AFC West End returned to league action as AFC Harpars came to the West Common. West End started the brighter side and took a deserved lead quarter of an hour into the game as Jamie Lawrence flicked the ball into the path of Dave Capps, and Cappsy finished well to open the scoring. West End had chances to add to their lead with Lawrence, Jack McDonnell and Glen Wlson all going close to doubling the advantage. Instead West End had to pay for missed chances as they went into the break all square. Harpars’ two forwards combined with a beautifully timed pass and well taken finish to make it 1-1 ten minutes before half-time.
In the second half West End were slow off the mark and found themselves a goal down inside the opening two minutes as a flicked header looped over Chris Sales. Within minutes things got even worse as a shot from the edge of the box looped onto the bar and with Sales stranded Harpars’ forward headed in the rebound to make it 3-1. Midway through the half Dan Hill made changes to the team introducing Jez Ashberry and Jamie Kitching and switching to a 4-3-3 that sparked a remarkable fightback by the Beers. With twenty minutes to go Lawrence got clean through on goal and rounded the goalkeeper only to be tripped by him as he went to slot the ball home. Incredibly the referee chose only to caution Harpars’ keeper, but thankfully Sam McDonnell tucked home the resultant penalty to make it 3-2.

Within minutes West End had drawn level as they were awarded a free-kick on the edge of the area by the left by-line. Capps swung the ball in towards goal and the Harpars’ keeper could only spill the ball into his own net under pressure to make it 3-3. With momentum on their side West End pushed forward for the winner and edged ahead with less than ten minutes to go as Lawrence turned home a left-wing corner to make it 4-3. Harpars pushed for a late equaliser but with time running out Lawrence again sprung the visitors’ fragile offside trap and again rounded the keeper to slot home his second and secure all three points for West End.
