There have been a variety of developments since we last spoke and the IIS has decided to ally themselves with anyone willing to help. This should be a largely unilateral development and in theory should have crew members from all over the planet earth. With access to the elevator secured I am stupidly optimistic about the future going forward.

The rumblings about Dr. Grade have been continuing but I can’t for the life of me believe they are true. How could someone have been in contact with an alien race and managed to keep it a secret. Who would have been involved? It can’t have been just one man, there would have had to be a widespread cover up of the situation by the whole of the Americas. Or even before the alliance existed. Strange rumors and strange times, I really wish I was on the inside of the conspiracy sometimes because idle gossip is not really as much.

For those of you interested the big brother house of death ended without controversy. We now have a 2 time winner who is for all intents and purposes a mass murderer. But hey folks, that’s entertainment. It is something you all have to look forward to in the future!

I am really going to have to step up my potato compound mixture in time for a new ship being launched. There are an infinite number of problems with this subject, but that really could just be my limited mental capacity being shown up. That is why I am in awe of the scientists who can actually conceptualize the science and engineering required for light speed travel. There are going to be a whole range of interesting developments in this field now that we think we can actually reach the edge of our solar system and beyond. Maybe we can find out if there are other space faring species out there.

On the big brother house of death front it is one of the quickest series in history, it should be over soon. That I suppose is one of the dangers of bringing back a previous winner, who in essence is a licensed psychopathic killer. Having read about what happens in the show in your time I have to say that I think ours is more entertaining. I mean do people honestly tune in to a show in large numbers to watch people sitting around in a house? Surely you can just look around your own living room and see this. I guess humanity is going through a period where books are no longer used. Until tomorrow.

Politicians are a rare breed in anytime I think though. It requires a rare breed of person to want to choose a thankless profession where your best hope is to be corrupt enough to earn yourself a directorship at a company you have been taking contributions from. There had been sadly little to no change in this attitude in the 100 years between, however there had been a rather rapid change in the number of companies. Fewer and fewer I mean as they merged into ever larger conglomerates.

These are the people who are hopes are put in for a continued and lasting peace. It would seem that there has been small movement at the Continental conference, unlimited and continuing access had been granted at least in principle. Ever the eternal optimist I am thinking that this is a actually going to work, a first step in actually uniting the continuously fighting factions. The latest suspicious seems to arise from the Americas leaps in space station technology. There had always been rumors that they have been in contact with an alien race but I find it difficult to believe that they have and that no one has ever leaked that information. It is strange though how they are so far in advance of all other alliances. Time will tell eventually.

In short what I am trying to tell you is that I have no real updates about the Continental Conference that is taking place. Who would have thought that news outlets would be more interested in focusing on crass instant gratification instead of genuine historical events. From what little I can gleam it would seem that progress is being made. If we could reach a lasting peace agreement then it can only be to the great benefit of humanity. Maybe we could start to work together, space is a rather large place, seems like there should be enough to go around for all of us. Imagine a world where everyone worked together, pipe dreams obviously.

Last years winner has decided to enter again, the draw of a truck full of credits and license to murder with impunity is just too much. To each their own I guess. Meanwhile my promising breakthrough in the consistency and taste of potato in the food delivery system was short lived. The laboratory tells me that the rats have not slept since they ate it and are in severe danger of dying of exhaustion. Which in deep space travel is not really ideal.

I am more excited that Game of Thrones is coming to your television schedules, I did not realize that they made a 2D version of this show. The books live on into the future and maintain their popularity and I shall have to find someway of watching this on your Internet. It seems that there are unscrupulous people who would put copyrighted material on the Internet. Ahh to live in the days before your DNA could be used to track any such infringements.

We are fast on the track of our new LSD drive, which for those of you who are “hippies” I believe is the term you use is the Light Speed Drive. This is a revolutionary new engine system that will change space travel forever. It is too complicated to explain in a pithy sentence so I wont even try, but needless to say if the testing continues to be as positive as it is currently then we are nearing a tipping point in the history of humanity.

There is a complex relationship between the continental alliances, this engine could push the Independent Island Nations to the forefront. Ideally we need to organize an alliance with one of the larger groups, the Continent of Americas or Asia might be able to develop with us in unison. The Americas are at a geographical advantage due to the placement of the Universal elevator. Can you imagine the possibilities, we have cutting edge technology but not the finances to really implement them. This is all just daydreams at the moment. As for me I think I have found a way to improve the taste of the potato compound in my food delivery system. I am a god of the uninteresting it seems.

The universal elevator was built on the understanding that all alliances would be able to access it. It required huge investment from all areas both financially and logistically but as soon as it was finished there was a massive fallout between all parties involved. A peace was eventually negotiated which has been uneasily held together ever since largely due to each party threatening to obliterate it if they were not allowed access. Violence is a common theme throughout human history, a fairly effective motivational tool I am sure you agree.

Each alliance is working on a new spaceship, the problem being that nobody has mastered the full array of technology required for long term deep space travel. I myself am working on the computer system for the food distribution network. It is a little like the system in place on your entertainment show Star Trek, except that there is no real choice and the food is terrible. I digress though, it should be an interesting conference and I believe that my own Independent Island Nations group will be unveiling our masterpiece, one that should take us from being the mid level power that we are to the kingmakers.

Meanwhile, I can see that you are all enjoying a movie named the hunger games. I think it is so cute that your version of a dystopian future involved children fighting. I mean seriously, once the death games come back why on earth would you want children to fight? We decided to go with well trained adults who can offer a good fight at least. My wife and I are off for a nice relaxing weekend by the beach, so until next week past dwellers.

To give you a brief idea of what happened over the last 100 years (or next 100 for you), humanity stumbled along naturally for quite some time and slowly integrated along geographical lines. The Continental American Conglomerate, African Union, European Federation, United Asian Continent, Islamic Nations and the Independent Island Nations.

There was the occasional scuffle about energy resources but they were not nearly as serious as the naysayers had predicted, the advancement of solar power really scheduled a turning point in humanity. Affordable energy for everyone led to a widespread increase in living standards and then education. The space race was back on as each continental alliance moved to be the first to develop a vessel capable of long term travel. At this point no one really has. I belong to the Independent Island Nations and we are close to a breakthrough that could be a game changer.

The trouble really arose with water and that is what really brought us to the brink of war more than once. The control of this natural resource is a contentious point to this day, but the advancements in desalination have eased the strain.

I told you it would be brief, I will go into more detail over time. But for now let us talk about your time. I am immensely enjoying reading about politics in the USA at the moment, I never imagined that politicians would be quite so obsessed about what a fellow human being wants to do with their genitals. You have a gentleman called Rick Santorum who if he were alive now would be some form of comedian, with little regard for economics or governance he is quite obsessed with homosexuality. Obviously he does not become President and were it not for me looking through your news outlets I would never have had the joy of learning his strange ramblings as he is not even a footnote in my time.

Similarly with other characters in your life, we have social leaders too and artists who compare with your most talented; however, the obsession you have with this Kim Kardashian and her hefty buttocks is quite astounding. I think someone will have to explain this to me as I can’t quite follow it. Have I missed something, she seems to garner more reportage than any other single person and yet had no apparent talent or political agenda.
