Tonia has arrived in Santiago de Compostela! After 2,500km hiking through Belgium, France and Spain she did it! I told you already how proud I am. Having walked the last 800km myself, I know this is a very impressive journey. Tonia grew tremendously during this trip. I walked a merely 300km with her on this trip and saw her growing every day.

She got rid of a number of fears. She met these special people along the way. New friendships were born and she enjoyed several miracles. Tonia received these incredible insights and also found her life’s purpose, her legacy. This is all so exciting!

When I return home this weekend, I will have a brand new woman. Not just any woman, but a Superwoman. I need to warn you that the picture you see here is my “old” Tonia, the day she started her walk on the 12th of June. She’ll never be the same again… So, next time you meet her, you’ll see this wonderful glow and energy burst around her

Tonia, again, congratulations! It is official now: I am the happiest person on this planet, especially monday when we’ll finally be reunited again!

Oh, by the way, she is completely in shape, so she decided to go to the end of the world, Finisterre. This is the place where the zero-marker is placed. 0km to go, the edge of the world, the vast ocean in front of you. There she will burn her last remaining fears and some clothing as a final ritual and completion of her journey. She is ready for a brand new start! Watch her…

What’s the purpose of an Exhaust System?

Most truck manufacturers leave room for improvement when it comes to horsepower and torque. Not to say trucks are poorly made, but many companies use less expensive alternatives when producing items such as exhaust systems for their vehicles. An aftermarket exhaust system can add to the performance, appearance, and sound of your truck.

Performance: An exhaust system can free some of the power in your engine. Exhaust systems allow for a quicker, more efficient path for exhaust gases to escape. That means your engine is able to “breathe” better, so used fuel and air exit the combustion chambers faster and new fuel and air can be burned to create more power.

Appearance: A factor to consider when purchasing exhaust systems is the material it is made out of. Most factory exhaust systems are made of mild steel, meaning they have a tendency to deteriorate over time. Better exhaust systems brands, such as ANSA Automotive’s Silverline, are constructed of stainless (T304 & T409) or aluminized steel. Stainless steel offers longevity, usually for the life of the truck, where aluminized steel offers slightly better longevity over stock systems. Most exhaust systems add to your truck’s appearance, with larger tips and highly polished mufflers for a more domineering look.

Sound: Another noticeable advantage is a more aggressive exhaust tone and deeper “growl” that is frequently heard on most high-end sports cars.

El “Tata Nano”

El Tata Nano,  el carro más barato del mundo que podría revolucionar a la industria del motor por su precio de $2,500.

El objetivo de este carro es el de motorizar el país (como en los 60 el Seat 600 motorizó europa). El  dueño de Tata -Sr. Ratan N. Tata- declaró en la rueda de prensa de la presentación: “Espero que proporcione un transporte de cuatro ruedas seguro y asequible a aquellas familias que no han podido poseer hasta ahora un vehículo. Estamos encantados de poder presentar el Tata Nano en India y el mundo”. Es más largo que un Smart, algo lógico ya que el modelo indio tiene espacio para cuatro adultos.

Mide 3,1 metros de largo, 1,5 metros de ancho y 1,6 metros de alto; y la ubicación de sus asientos es bastante elevada con el objeto de facilitar el acceso. En India se vende ya con tres niveles de acabado: el estándar, el CX y el LX. Los más completos pueden llevar faros antiniebla, servofreno, cierre central,vidrios eléctricos, calefacción y aire acondicionado; pero nada de ayudas electrónicas a la conducción, ni bolsas de aire.

Con un motor de dos cilindros y 624 cc construido en aluminio y asociado a una caja de cambios de cuatro velocidades, el Tata Nano desarrolla una potencia de 35 caballos de fuerza. ( jaja si, solo 35). Sólo pesa 600 kilos, por lo que puede alcanzar los 105 km/h.

Tata pudo segmentar y crear una linea de bajo costo para poder llegar a mas gente, lo cual en mi opinion; es algo innovador y de gran ayuda para la gente que necesita de un carro y no tiene mucho dinero para comprarlo. No sé exactamente cuando va a venir a Guatemala, no creo que cueste  los $2500 por los gastos para traerlo hasta aca, pero seguramente tendra un buen precio.

The second of two buildings (on the stretch of the boulevard this blogs covers) on the National Registry of Historic Places, the Jensen Investment Company Building now houses Bardy Trophy at 2500-2522 NE MLK:

The building was erected in 1930 and originally housed Van De Kamp’s Holland Dutch Bakery, which sold numerous kinds of coffee cake. The platform atop the building held a windmill (presumably to signal that Dutch bakery items were sold there), but it fell off at some point, possibly in a storm. Stop into Goldrush Coffee Shop across the street for early photos of the building.

Número de acessos no dia 04/05/2009

Galera,

Como vocês podem notar no gráfico acima, o Sofismando está em plena ascensão. Em 27/04 ele ultrapassou a barreira dos 1000 acessos diários, e após esta data, só ficou abaixo em dois dias. Domingo quase atingiu a marca de 2000 acessos, ficou abaixo por pouco. Ontem, eu não consegui acreditar quando abri as estatísticas e confirmei o número, 2536 acessos, isso mesmo que vocês leram.

Bem, só tenho a agradecer a todos vocês, que fazem estes acessos diários ao Sofismando. É com muita alegria que vejo as pessoas aparecendo, comentando e, o melhor, voltando.

O blog ainda não é o tipo de blog que eu quero, ainda faltam às estórias que eu quero escrever e compartilhar com vocês, mas pelas estatísticas posso deduzir que o blog já agrada quem visita do jeito que está, mas podem ter certeza, vou continuar melhorando a cada dia.
