I agree with the person who commented on the low quality of the “build” of the items, but overall, I’m EXTREMELY satisfied with the purchase.

The items I use most often:

1) Mesh travel bag (drop both iPod & original headphones in it, and occasionally my very fragile Plantronics bluetooth headset)

2) Silicone cover

3) Screen protector

4) Wall charger adapter (which works to charge other devices connected via their USB cables)

5) Car charger (which also works with not only my iPod touch, but also other devices)

6) Car Audio 3.5MM Jack AUX Auxiliary Cable that allows me to connect my iPod to the Car Stereo on my Honda (AUX) and play over car speakers!!

Items I plan to use, as needed, but haven’t used much:

1) Retractable USB cable (I have it on hand as a spare)

2) Extra USB cable (I keep it in the car in case I don’t have my computer bag with me, which has the original cable

3) Arm band which connects to the silicone cover for working out while listening to the iPod

4) Extra headphones (if I want to share something with someone, see #5)

5) Splitter, which makes it possible for 2 users to listen to iPod using headphones

6) Cable keeper (shaped like a fish). Not very good, but serves its function and I keep the extra headphones wrapped up on it

7) Black Silicone cover: will probably use it eventually if the white one gets junky looking

Items I never plan to use:

1) Clear plastic case which seems very fragile and will probably break if used much

2) Leather case: too bulky, and I don’t like having things clipped to my belt. (Lost a cell phone that I clipped to my belt… slid off)

BOTTOM LINE: If you’re not buying this package for the leather case and/or the clear plastic cover, I think that you will be happy with your purchase. I’m EXTREMELY happy with mine!

“Amazing Amount of Stuff”
What an amazing amount of stuff for my 3g ITouch for a small price. Everything is compatible and works well. The headphones, while not equipped with a mic are even as good as the earbuds that came with the ITouch. I am frankly amazed at how much there is and that it is all usable. My husband had my Touch inscribed with a sentiment and I really wanted a clear case but could not find one for less than $15. This package had a clear case and two others, plus cords, cables, chargers, earphones – any accessory you could possibly need. Terrific value!

“Value for money; leather case has a belt clip.”
The items I received were pretty much what I see in the picture, except that the synthetic leather case has a belt clip that protrudes out. It is not removable. So it would not be suitable if you want to put it in a shirt or pants pocket, which is what I am looking for. The photos on the website do not show the reverse side of the leather case.

Other than that, the items were usable. Construction quality is not as refined. For example the USB sync cable that comes with the standard iPod Touch box is of better quality than that in the accessory bundle.

There are 4 cases — a hard plastic case, a white silicone case, a black rubber case and the synthetic leather case mentioned above. Well, I can only use one at a time as they are made to fit my iPod Touch 3rd Gen nicely.

Kali ini saatnya belajar tentang Drive Test lagi. Kenapa pake lagi? Karena sudah pernah belajar sebelumnya  tentunya, melalui training malahan. Namun, itu dulu, tepatnya CDMA Drive Test Training. Sekarang, yang ingin di pelajari adalah drive test (DT) untuk 2G (GSM) dan 3G (UMTS). Berhubung tools DT nya ga punya, maka sementara belajarnya melalui tulisan2 yg beredar di internet dulu dan tetap dengan bantuan mbah gugel tentunya .

Yang pertama perlu dicari tau adalah, apa sih DT itu ? DT merupakan salah satu bagian pekerjaan dalam optimasi jaringan radio. Dimana DT bertujuan untuk mengumpulkan informasi jaringan secara real di lapangan. Informasi yg dikumpulkan merupakan kondisi aktual radio frequency (RF) di suatu base transceiver station (BTS) maupun dalam lingkup base station subsystem (BSS). Dinamakan DT adalah karena dalam pekerjaannya kita menggunakan kendaraan (mobil) yg diam lalu berjalan dan diam lagi sesuai dengan data pengukuran yg perlu diambil. Perjalanan pun dilengkapi dengan peta digital, GPS, handset dan software DT semacam Agilent, Nemo (Nokia) atau TEMS (Ericsson).

Mengapa perlu dilakukan DT ? Secara umum tujuan DT adalah untuk mengumpulkan informasi jaringan radio secara real di lapangan. Dimana informasi yang diperoleh dapat digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan-tujuan lainya. diantaranya adalah :

-  untuk mengetahui coverage sebenarnya dilapangan apakah sudah sesuai dengan coverage prediction pada saat planning,
-  untuk mengetahui parameter jaringan dilapangan apakah sudah sesuai dengan parameter planning,
-  untuk mengetahui performansi jaringan setelah dilakukan perubahan seperti penambahan atau pengurangan TRX,
-  untuk mengetahui adanya interferensi dari sel-sel tetangga,
-  untuk  mencari RF issue berkaitan dengan adanya drop call atau blocked call,
-  untuk mencari adanya poor  coverage,
-  dan dapat jg digunakan untuk mengetahui performansi jaringan kompetitor (benchmarking).

Apa saja yg diperlukan untuk DT ? Perlengkapan yg dibutuhkan untuk melakukan DT diantaranya handset, laptop beserta software DT-nya (TEMS/NEMO/Agilent), GPS, map digital dan yg pelru dipersiapan lebih dahulu adalah route plan (area yg akan dilakukan DT : primary route, secondary route dan miscellaneous route).

Selanjutnya adalah, Apa saja parameter kualitas yg perlu (biasanya) diperhatikan pada DT GSM ? Parameter ini dapat dikelompokkan menjadi dua yaitu parameter untuk verifikasi data BTS dan parameter untuk verifikasi kualitas jaringan. Paramater untuk verifikasi data BTS :

-  Broadcast Control Channel (BCCH) : merupakan frekuensi carrier downlink yg digunakan oleh BTS (GSM900: 890-915 MHz,DCS1800: 1805-1880 MHz),
-  Absolute Radio Frequency Channel (ARFC) : merupakan konversi BCCH yg bernilai MHz diubah menjadi nomor2 kanal,
-  Cell Global Identity (CGI) yg merupakan gabungan dari Mobile Country Code (MCC) + Mobile Network Code (MNC) + Local Area Code (LAC) + Cell Identity (CI),
-  Base Station Identity Code (BSIC), membedakan BTS-BTS yg berdekatan yg mempunyai BCCH dan ARFC yg sama.

Untuk kulitas jaringan GSM, parameternya adalah :

-  RxLev,  yaitu level daya yg diterima oleh MS (dalam minus dBm (-dBm), semakil kecil maka semakin lemah level daya terimanya),
-  RxQual, yaitu tingkat kualitas sinyal yg diterima MS (nilainya 0-7; 7=nilai terjelek) ,
-  Speech Quality Indicator (SQI), tingkat kualitas suara pada saat menelepon (-20 s.d. 30 ; makin besar makin baik) ,
-  Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR), persentase tingkat keberhasilan pembangunan hubungan dengan ketersediaan kanal suara (biasanya ditentukan nilai standarnya agar mencapai > 95%),
-  Call Setup Time (CST), waktu yg diperlukan untuk melakukan panggilan,
-  Call Completion Success Rate (CCSR), persentase tingkat keberhasilan hubungan sampai berakhir tanpa terjadi drop call (biasanya ditentukan nilai standarnya agar mencapai > 98%).

Bagaimana dengan 3G ? Apa saja parameternya? Pada dasarnya untuk 3G jg mempunyai dua kelompok parameter seperti pada GSM, parameter untuk verifikasi data Node-B (sebutan untuk BTS 3G) dan parameter untuk verifikasi kualitas jaringan. Untuk verifikasi data Node-B, parameternya adalah :

-  Cell identity (CI),
-  Local Area Code (LAC),
-  Scramble Code.

Untuk kualitas jaringan 3G, parameternya adalah :

-  Receive Signal Code Power (RSCP), merupakan level daya yg diterima oleh MS (-dBm),
-  Ec/No,
-  BLER,
-  CSSR PS,
-  CCR PS,
-  ISHO,
-  SHO.

Selain mencari nilai parameter diatas pada saat DT dapat juga dilakukan functional test (baik 2G maupun 3G) seperti tes keberhasilan HO, tes keberhasilan SMS, tes video call (pada 3G), tes FTP (3G) dan beberapa functional test lainnya.

As an iPhone user myself I can’t help wondering whats next for the device, when you think of the features the iPhone lacks, which lets face it is about 5, after that what can Apple introduce to make the iPhone appealing?
App Store
The only answer I’ve been given to that question is the App Store, now with over 100,000 apps (as of Q4 ‘09) but lets face it, you won’t use them all will ya, and once you’ve played one racing game, the others look the same, same with shooters, and more, I’m just wondering whats next.
Since the first iPhone back in 2007, Apple haven’t changed the UI or the way the iPhone works once, whilst some may like that as it makes it an easy transition, I don’t know, to me the iPhone is still missing something which I can’t put my finger on it.
Here’s what I’m basing it on, like I said the App Store has now over 100K applications, but we’ve all got the same apps, everyone seems to have the ‘FaceBook’ app for example, which is more or less essential for anyone, but we can all get FaceBook on all mobiles, even that old Nokia 6233 I’ve got lying around somewhere, and YouTube is also now available for even the basic-est devices.
Touch Screen
Since the iPhone in ‘07, touch screen + phone, lets face it, wasn’t really working out, then Apple did their magic and, boom, touch screen working seemlessly, but now everyone knows how to make touchscreen phone and before you know it, you’ve a whole bunch of different manufacturers interpretation of the iPhone, which is all good and all and don’t get me wrong when you first get an iPhone, or an iPod Touch for that matter, its a great experience, but I’m the type of guy who used to have a new phone every 6-10 months, and whilst I’ve not got a different iPhone than I started with, I feel that everything you can get from the iPhone is now on the iPod Touch, but is also on most mainstream phones, the App Store, Touchscreen, having a touchscreen iPod, is now just a feature that everyone can follow. Speaking of touchscreen, the iPhone was the first touchscreen phone I’ve ever purchased, but after a while you do find yourself itching to actually press a button, I was using a Samsung this week, just a standalone one, nothing special, but it felt great to actually text using actual buttons, and lets face it, you can’t send an SMS with an iPhone on a bus, its more or less impossible, you’re relying on the corrector.
What do you want from the iPhone then?
I think it would go in Apple’s favour if they made an iPhone with an actual button keyboard, sort out the annoying features the iPhone needs, “Hey, can you send us that through Bluetooth?”, “…No, actually”, I’m fed up of answering that!

3G น่าสนใจอย่างไร

จากการที่ 3G สามารถรับส่งข้อมูลในความเร็วสูง ทำให้การติดต่อสื่อสารเป็นไปได้ อย่างรวดเร็ว และ มีรูปแบบใหม่ๆ มากขึ้น ประกอบกับอุปกรณ์สื่อสารไร้สายในระบบ 3G สามารถให้บริการระบบเสียง และ แอพพลิเคชั่นรูปแบบใหม่

เช่น จอแสดงภาพสี, เครื่องเล่น mp3, เครื่องเล่นวีดีโอ การดาวน์โหลดเกม, แสดงกราฟฟิก และ การแสดงแผนที่ตั้งต่างๆ ทำให้การสื่อสารเป็นแบบอินเตอร์แอคทีฟ ที่สร้างความสนุกสนาน และ สมจริงมากขึ้น

3G ช่วยให้ชีวิตประจำวันสะดวกสบายและคล่องตัวขึ้น โดย โทรศัพท์เคลื่อนที่เปรียบเสมือน คอมพิวเตอร์แบบพกพา, วิทยุส่วนตัว และแม้แต่กล้องถ่ายรูป ผู้ใช้สามารถเช็คข้อมูลใน account ส่วนตัว เพื่อใช้บริการต่างๆ ผ่านโทรศัพท์เคลื่อนที่ เช่น self-care (ตรวจสอบค่าใช้บริการ), แก้ไขข้อมูลส่วนตัว และ ใช้บริการข้อมูลต่างๆ เช่น ข่าวเกาะติดสถานการณ์, ข่าวบันเทิง, ข้อมูลด้านการเงิน, ข้อมูลการท่องเที่ยว และ ตารางนัดหมายส่วนตัว “Always On”

Migration from BSNL 2G to 3G is a piece of cake: -

First of all ensure that 3G network is available in your locality, visit BSNL Customer Care Centre for enquiries or Kandpaal Sales, Opp. Bholenaath Garden, Near Standard Sweet House, Haldwani. Once availability is confirmed follow these steps: -

1. Write a letter addressing SDO, BSNL, Telephone exchange. Mention you mobile number in the letter.
2. Submit it to the BSNL Customer Care Centre
3. They will check the application and you could be asked to include some more details.
4. Now they will ask your mobile and will enter some codes
5. It’s done! If the validity of your mobile gets dragged down to 0 days instantly.
6. Recharge your mobile with suitable Data Plan, it is compulsory to recharge through any Data Plan after migration. If you will not recharge through Data Plan 3G will not get activated! Use any trail data pack(recommended).
7. Once recharged with a data plan it would take a while for migration process to complete (max 2 days). Keep on checking browsing speeds. You can easily upgrade to any Data Plan of your choice latter. Visit here for details of all data plans.

All done!!! Now enjoy speeds of 384kbps or 3.2mbps(HSDPA). It depends on your handset, if it supports 3G only you will get 384kbps else if it supports HSDPA you will get 3.2mbps.

Christmas is coming up what better way to signal it’s the buying season than with some competitive gadget ads that trash rivals? Verizon is doing just that. Trying to steal people from the iPhone’s wrath, the big V has started airing a series of commercials that point out AT&T’s poor 3G coverage in the U.S.

For the most part, I’ve heard more success stories about the iPhone than negative ones. As much as I do hate Verizon (call quality is almost as lousy as AT&T), I do find these commercials charming for the holidays.

Verizon’s own iPhone alternatives also aren’t exactly as slick as the iPhone either. While tech journalists are loving the Motorola Droid phone running Google’s Android 2.0 OS  that was just released on Verizon, I find it ugly. As long as the iPhone has it’s shiny good looks, people will pony up for it, even if AT&T’s service is horrible. Take it from me, I switched from AT&T to T-Mobile and haven’t complained about my phone in a long time; nearly 18 months into my 2-year contract.

But let’s be serious. In a mobile world, there are many factors that we as users value more than just good looks. These factors are what’s keeping people away from the iPhone (like me). Let’s have a look at the two most important ones shall we?

Battery: Battery life is the #1 most important thing to me in a mobile phone. I don’t like having to plug in my phone every night. It should be able to run for at least 3 days before having to need a jack in. My unlocked Sony Ericsson K810i holds up for four days even with a good amount of daily usage.

Coverage: A cell phone is used to connect with people. If there’s no or low reception, our devices are essentially shiny bricks. Better roll out is needed. 3G coverage also needs to be expanded faster.

As the wireless carriers fight it out, things can only get better for us users. Competition will bring the market to where it needs to get to. I tip my hat off to you Verizon for taking a stand against the iPhone, even if there are a ton of rumors going around the Internet indicating you may be getting a GSM/CDMA capable iPhone that that has a smaller 2.8″ screen in the near future…

I am an AT&T customer. Have been for many years now….since back when it was call Cingular. watching these commercials is very misleading to people who are on neither AT&T or Verizon. 3G coverage is not the same as regular coverage. AT&T has the MOST towers in the USA and provides 2G coverage everywhere too. Verizon…if you gonna buck…do it right.

In fact, AT&T’s wireless network blankets the US, reaching approximately 296M people. Additionally, our 3G service is available in over 9,600 cities and towns. Verizon’s misleading advertising tactics appear to be a response to AT&T’s strong leadership in smartphones. We have twice the number of smartphone customers… and we’ve beaten them two quarters in a row on net post-paid subscribers. We also had lower churn — a sign that customers are quite happy with the service they receive.

I personally dont see the difference between 3G and regular coverage. i guess its cause i dont have internet on my phone. and i personally think Verizon is the devil in disguise cause of its red color…its kinda harsh on the eyes for me.

well oops to Verizon…. thats is exactly why your  getting sued. haha!

GeoHot já liberou o Blackra1n e o Blacksn0w (inclusive o tutorial do mesmo já foi feito no blog), ótimas ferramentas para executar o JailBreak do Firmware 3.1.2 e Unlock do mesmo(BaseBand 5.11.07, presente no iPhone 3G/3GS com Firmware 3.1.2 nativo), porém, alguns usuários estão sofrendo com alguns “efeitos colaterais”,como problemas nos Youtube, GPS, e até mesmo com o Wi-Fi, com seus aparelhos, após este JailBreak. Leia este guia, e tente resolver seu problema:

iPhone 3G e 3GS iPhone:

Estes problemas parece ser mais comum com os iPhones comprados no exterior, e usados em nosso país, ou seja, os desbloqueados com Blackra1n RC3 e Blacksn0w. Neste caso, é provável que seu problema se resolva ao acessar  Ajustes> Geral> Redefinir> Redefinir Ajustes de Rede. Caso tenha problemas com o Push, pode seguir o tutorial abaixo do Push Fix.

iPhone 2G(EDGE):

Para resolver os problemas no iPhone EDGE , basta instalar o push-fix(Tutorial abaix0) que, além de ativar as notificações push para seu aparelho, instala um perfil totalmente funcional para o YouTube. Após instala-lo, e notar que os problemas continuam, você ainda pode ir em Ajustes> Geral> Redefinir> Redefinir Ajustes de Rede, e ver se então, dessa forma seus problemas acabam.

Push Fix:

-

-Deseinstale todos os aplicativos que usam Notificações Push(Veja quais são indo em Ajustes->Geral->Notificações) Se você não encontrar o menu notificações, você não tem nenhum aplicativo que usa Push instalado.
-Abra o Cydia no seu aparelho
-Clique na aba Manage> Sources> Edit > Add e adicione essa source: “http://cydia.iphoneil.net”
-Vá para a aba search e procure por “Push Fix”
-Abra o aplicativo Youtube, e certifique-se que ele funciona
-Reinicie o iPhone, reinstale e reinstale os aplicativos que usam notificação Push.

Nota: Se por acaso você tiver problemas com o Youtube, desinstale o Push Fix.

Obviamente que aqueles que não têm nenhum tipo de problema não devem seguir esse tutorial.

Para instalar o blacksn0w no cydia basta: Abra o cydia e toque em MANAGE> SOURCES> EDIT> ADD e digite o endereço do repositório: www.blackra1n.com

Quando terminar a instalação da source, vá para a aba CHANGES e clique em blacksn0w. Efetue a instalação e pronto! Baseband Unlocked!

Tutorial:

O tutorial pode ser usado com o MAC OS X(10.4 ou superior) ou com o Windows(XP ou superior)

0- Plugue o aparelho em seu computador
1. Abra o Blackra1n em seu computador, depois clique no botão “Make it Ra1n”
2. Após no botão, você verá que a mensagem “Entering Recovery”. Neste momento, esteja ciente de que o Blackra1n está colocando seu aparelho em modo de recuperação, para executar o JailBreak

3. Uma foto do hacker GeoHot aparecerá em seu aparelho ,e em seu computador deve aparecer uma mensagem:

4. O JailBreak deve ter sido bem sucedido e concluído. Aguarde em torno de 20 segundos, o tempo que levará para seu aparelho reiniciar, e você verá que vai ter um novo aplicativo em sua SpringBoard, chamado cujo o nome é “blackra1n”. Abra o aplicativo, e selecione para instalar o Cydia.

Pronto, você pode agora usufruir de seu aparelho, totalmente atualizado e Jailbroken.

Desbloqueio:

iPhone 3G/3GS: O Desbloqueio do iPhone 3G/3GS é feito pelo própio Blackra1n, tudo que você precisa fazer é instalar o Sn0w que está no Blackra1n, abaixo do Cydia em seu aparelho, então o aparelho será desbloqueado.

iPhone 2G:

Já no iPhone 2G, você precisa, abrir o Cydia, e usando a barra Search, procurar por um aplicativo cujo o nome é BootNeuter, e instala-lo:

Abra o BootNeuter, e certifique-se, de que seus ajustes estejam iguais ao da imagem abaixo(clique na imagem, para amplia-la):

(Version: 4.6/Neuter:ON/FakeBlank:OFF/Unlock:ON)

Depois, de ter conferido toque em “Flash“, e pronto seu iPhone 2G estará desbloqueado, para o uso com qualquer operadora.

OBS: Não interrompa o processo após ter tocado em Flash, alguns aparelhos demoram para terminar o processo. Não se preucupe.

Meu iPhone está no Firmware 3.1.2 já está JailBroken, mas precisa de desbloqueio, o que faço?

Se você já executou o JailBreak com o Blacksn0w, em uma versão anterior, e precisa apenas do desbloqueio de chip, para seu iPhone funcionar com todas as operadoras, você não precisa executar todos os passos acima , apenas abra o ícone do Blacksn0w atual que deve estar em sua SpringBoard, e depois clique em “Ra1n”, que seu blackra1n será atualizado para suportar o blacksn0w, porém, se você já deletou o blackra1n de seu aparelho, você deve esperar que o blacksn0w seja disponível no Cydia. Já está disponível no Cydia o Blacksn0w, clique aqui para entender como instalar.

Tenho o JailBreak já feito com o PwnageTool, porém, meu aparelho está bloqueado, o que faço?

Você não deve seguir o guia de todo geral. Você só precisa de esperar que o Blacsn0w seja disponível no Cydia. Aguarde alguns minutos, e entre no cydia, e procure pelo blacksn0w, se o mesmo já estiver disponível, instale-o e pronto, você poderá usufruir do seu telefone por completo.

Depois de atualizar o iPhone, posso restaurar o Backup do mesmo, usando o iTunes?

Eu não recomendo para restaurar um backup com o iTunes, a melhor opção é configura-lo como um dispositivo novo.

I do not know how to fix it yet, as I have not encountered this problem with my 2G iphone, or my girlfriend’s iphone 3G.

But something comes to mind, that only last week, another friend of mine suggested for me to install a Bossprefs Home Button. This is not the physical home button that you see on the iphone, but it is on the screen and acts like one.

This could be one of the solutions. However, Bossprefs can be installed on jailbroken iphones.
