Hei dere!

Jeg har ikke hatt orket, eller giddet å blogge i det siste, men jeg lovet deg og dere å blogge om de nye tingene mine, å det blir det!

Først av alt så var søsteren min Anette og meg på Kvadrat en tur, fordi jeg skulle ha en ny jakke og et par vintersko, i og med at jeg ennå går rundt på tynne og kalde Converse All Star som jeg elsker! MEN; Det blir for kaldt i lengden. Alle jakker var sånne sorte vet dere, kåper som er tynne og varmer ikke i det hele tatt. Jeg liker ikke boblejakker, men jeg måtte føye meg til slutt. Så fant jeg en på Ichi på Kvadrat, men ingen av dem var i min str. Samme styret på skoene, fant et par sko(jeg er kresen på jakker og sko), men heller ikke i min størrelse. Så kjørte vi på Vågen 33, å vet dere hva? Der fant vi både jakken og skoene i min størrelse! Go Vågen sier jeg bare!

Her er jakken min, som jeg kjøpte på Ichi. Den var på tilbud, egentlig koster den 600 tror jeg, men nå kostet den 300. Ganske greit, selvom den var billig. Kjempe god og gå med siden jeg er en sann frystepinne!

Disse skoene er kjøpt på Din Sko på Amfi Vågen 33! De kostet 600 kroner, å er herlige og gå med! Selvom det er skrekkelig uvandt å gå i fra Vans/Converse som ikke veier en dritt, til tunge vintersko, så er de gode å ha når det er kaldt og vått ute.

The long-awaited movie  “Twilight New Moon” came out today theaters.

That was all I was hearing about this entire week, Twilight this, and twilight that! she Begged me to go see the movie!

I said no like 300 times for the past 2 months… and last night in the spirit of the movie she got fangs

Her friend texted me, and wrote … OMG now she got Fangs…

My First Thought was… That’s my Dumb Dumb!

My second thought was; I should beat her to the punch line! I ran out of the house, into my car, doing 80 on a 65, got to the costume store, and got hot looking fangs, looked almost real!

Had the guy place, and attached them to my teeth. drove home and waited for her. with the teeth still on.

My love and her friend walk in; my girl looked liked she had something in her mouth, and a smirk…. she was trying to freak me out, I opened my mouth and gave her a hissing sound.

she yelled “OH MY GOD!!!! I FUCKEN LOVE YOUU!!!!”

we all laughed, and did the nasty for a while…

Con esto no quiero decir que sean malas, tan sólo puntualizar que son un claro ejemplo de películas para gente que no ha visto mucho cine, ni tiene pensado hacerlo (y lo más facil es adapatarse a los cánones populares).

Einer der ganz Großen in der VFX-Szene ist Ray Harryhausen. Er gilt als Großmeister der StopMotion-Technik. Hier werden Motive animiert, indem sie für jedes einzelne Bild des Filmes immer nur geringfügig verändert werden. So entsteht beim Abspielen der Eindruck von mehr oder weniger flüssigen Bewegungen. Harryhausen erhob diese Technik zur Perfektion. Größen wie Pixar verneigen sich noch heute vor Harryhausens Schaffen, wie wenn in beispielsweise in “Monster AG” ins Cafe Harryhausen geladen wird.

Der letzte Film des Meisters war 1981 “Kampf der Titanen”. Er erzählt die Geschichte der griechischen Mythologie. Bei Kosten von 15 Mio. US-Dollar spielte der Film allein in den USA 41.092.328 US-Dollar wieder ein und belegte Platz 13 der US-Kinocharts 1981.

Derzeit wird “Kampf der Titanen” neu verfilmt. Bei YouTube fand ich den neuen Trailer. Der Film soll 2010 in die Kinos kommen und kostet rund 70 Millionen US-Dollar. Die Bilder zeigen: StopMotion ist vobei, der Film ist CGI pur.

Obwohl eine klassische griechische Tragödie vorliegt, werden es die Drehbuchautoren wieder mal schaffen, eine Geschichte zu verhunzen. Davor hab ich echt Angst, das die Geschichte um Medusa, Perseus, Poseidon, Zeus und Athene den Bach runter geht. Hoffentlich sagt es einer demn Kollegen Lawrence Kasdan in Hollywood: Es geht nicht nur um fliegende Pferde, 2köpfige Hunde, und ein gigantisches Seeungeheuer und die eindrucksvolle Medusa.

Es ist zu hören, dass eine ähnliche Greenscreen-Technik wie bei “300″ verwendet werden soll, aber mehr Fotorealismus beinhaltet, so Regisseur Louis Teterrier. Was das genau bedeutet, werden wir sehen. Ich fand die Stimmung bei “300″ hervorragend, während ich die Bauten von “Troja” oder “Alexander” eher als moderne Variante des Sandalenfilms ansehe.

Yep. I watched it. All three hours and thirty-five minutes of it. And despite adding nearly an hour of extra footage, including the ‘comic within the comic’ “The Black Freighter”, the problems with Watchmen remain.

Based on the overrated fanboy funnybook by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, Watchmen is based in an alternate America, between the 1930’s and early 1980’s, where ordinary (and not so ordinary) people dress up as hood ornaments to fight crime. Years after being outlawed, these crime fighters come together again to unravel a mystery surrounding the murder of one of their own.

Known as Minutemen, there’s Night Owl (Patrick Wilson), a pudgy technogeek with a serious case of erectile dysfunction;  Silk Spectre (Malin Åkerman) who has daddy issues and seems to find sucking on a battery arousing;  Rorschach (Jackie Earl Haley), a deeply disturbed bloodnut and quite literally a dirty son of a whore;  Ozymandias (Matthew Goode), an effeminate billionaire and ‘the smartest man in the world’;  The Comedian (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who generally speaking, just isn’t a very nice guy;  and Doctor Manhattan (Billy Crudup), a blue skinned nudist with a penchant for hiding his dong just out of frame (or behind a budgie smuggler). These characters come together to crap on about quasi-philosophical garbage and to slow-mo fight their way through a poorly constructed conspiracy mystery.

There is such a thing as ‘too faithful’, and after “300” and “Watchmen”, director Zack Snyder has proven that he is about as imaginative as Rain Man counting cards. By spewing each frame onto the screen, he has essentially made a moving version of the funnybook. Snyder has revered the source material so much that he has lost sight of the fact that what works on the page, doesn’t always work on screen.

Snyder has made a number of severe miscalculations; the music in particular is annoying and obvious. “Ride of the Valkyries” for a Vietnam scene? “Hallelujah” for a love scene?  That’s just lazy.  And a truly bizarre and baffling use of “99 Luftballoons” which comes completely out of nowhere and lasts about 19 seconds before fading out. It’s like Snyder had it written into his contract that he must include the song in the movie.

Also annoying is the aforementioned over-use of slow-mo, and the constant movement of the camera. It seems as if Snyder was conscious of the restrictions he placed on himself by being so faithful to recreating every frame as it was in the comic that he attempted to breath life into the film by moving the camera in every single shot. In a static scene of dialogue or exposition he is constantly doing a slow push in. It’s annoying.

The performances as a whole are fine. Jackie Earl Haley is particularly good as Rorschach, but he benefits from having the most interesting character and the best lines.  Ozymandias looks less like ‘the smartest man in the world’ and more like he should be dancing on the Kylie float in the Gay Mardi Gras Parade.  He also has a staggering amount of superhuman ability for an ordinary human being.  The bullet thing is particularly ridiculous.

Snyder hasn’t interpreted the funnybooks for the movies. Sure, he’s made a substantial change to the end, which was the correct decision. The squid in the comic is stupid, but it kind of works. At the very least, it’s easier to accept. If Snyder were to have featured a giant squid attacking New York in the movie it would’ve been laughed off the screen. So he had the foresight to change that, but has mistakenly kept infantile joke shots like the flame spurt.

The best part of the film is the Doctor Manhattan origin.  It’s the one section that successfully translated from funnybook to screen.  And it’s good to see Crudup without the CG dong and the weird lightbulb eyes.

The most enjoyable part of Watchmen, as in the comic, is “The Black Freighter”. A brutal tale of one mans descent into madness, the animated sequences in this Ultimate Cut are very effective and make for a welcome respite from the film itself.

The biggest problem with Watchmen, is that I just don’t think that the story’s relates to 2009.  The original comic is a somewhat effective commentary of a particular time and state of the world.  Now that the Cold War’s over, Nixons a distant memory, Vietnam’s old news and Viagra’s been invented, it feels irrelevant.

Watchmen did have potential, but it’s been kicking around for so many years that it’s time has passed and the list of those who DIDN’T direct or star in it, what could’ve been, is more interesting than that finished product.

A produção é australiana e será realizada em Sydney. Na história, Soren é uma jovem coruja que é fascinado pelas histórias épicas que seu pai conta sobre os Guardiões Ga’Hoole, guerreiros míticos alados que lutaram numa grande batalha para derrotar o puro mal.

Alguns nomes já estão fechados para fazerem vozes dos personagens. São eles: Sam Neill, Geoffret Rush, Hugo Heaving, David Wenham. O projeto também contará com atrizes australianas e inglesas, como a vencedora do Oscar por A Rainha, Helen Mirren. Não está implícito na notícia quais personagens os respectivos atores emprestarão suas vozes.
A Warner Bros. e a Village Roadshow Pictures cuidam da produção, visando o lançamento na Autrália no dia 9 de dezembro de 2010.

Sem dúvida um projeto bem diferente de juntas homens sem camisa em um fundo verde ou dar vida para heróis que até então estavam fracassados. Parece interessante. Não custa nada ficar de olho no trabalho de Snyder. Não dá pra negar que é um cineasta talentoso. Se agrada, aí fica por conta de cada um…

Is this what it meant to be myself?  There are arrows that exist at some points and occasionally others—there are swings of swords and finishing strikes with a vaguely Eastern flourish (not to say that the Greeks are not capable of flourish, they certainly are the sons and daughters of Helen), there are reasons to fight these mythical creatures, these Persians with their long hair and their golden hooks and beliefs that they are gods of all of these places, that our god is worth more than theirs.  Not once have I lost blood in slow motion and I am not certain if the loss of it requires all of this detail—time already stops when there is blood on my football jersey and I have to rub whatever spattered flourish into itself (we wear whites when we are away) to turn everything pink, and certainly there is no pink in Sparta:  there is nothing but men here—we fuck (yes! fuck!) our women who could best any man not from here, we laugh at anyone who is not a soldier, and so there is no room for a culture that means anything but what shield we used.  The boy washing his blood away to get back into battle would’ve loved this—he would’ve screamed ‘This is Sparta!’ despite this not being Sparta or Spartan—he would’ve used more exclamation points—he would’ve marveled at how the body separates from itself when metal is introduced to skin—he would’ve thought he learned something about history, about what it is like to write a Letter in November, about courage and Laconophilia, and he would’ve listened to something industrial, something with the sounds of labor, and he would’ve run back onto the field of battle knocked out on his feet.

The radio show I was listening to this morning brought up James 1:19 as the Thought of the Day:

“Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness that God requires.”

Carlos, one of the personalities, said it reminded him of something St. Francis of Assisi said,

“Preach the gospel at all times; when necessary, use words.”

Yes, it was a rotten weekend. What I need to remember is no one is nasty for the sake of being nasty. I have to remember there must be some reason she’s being crazy at any given moment. My job is to help her heal and become healthy and strong – not react like the rest of the world. My job is mercy and compassion. I have to address the problem, not the symptom. When I want to use words it is usually because I want to be right or win the argument. When I want to love and serve her, I do something instead.

“Preach the Gospel” is synonymous with “love like Jesus.” In most cases, that requires action while keeping one’s mouth shut. Especially in marriage.

My excuse for using words is that often I am fighting under a hail of slings, arrows, and fiery darts so massive it blocks out the sun. The only words I should speak in that cases are to myself, “Then I shall fight in the shade.”
