We’ll stop well short of calling it “hot” because, y’know, we’re not crazy.

So what the heck is it? While we’re still not entirely sure, our recon leads us to believe that it’s a Peugeot 309 GTi saloon- a far less famous relative to the beloved 205 GTi. Dare we say it, we see shades of period Alfa in this car, sort of like a homely French cousin to Alfa’s Italian Milano.

To those of you who have visited my blog and thought it looked a little odd today. Well, your eyes were not playing tricks on you.

It seems that my whole landing page has gone out of alignment and the Silly Girl has dropped WordPress a note this morning asking them to help check it out and advise what might have happened.

I can’t believe that Ella is already 6 months old (today!)

It’s amazing how fast time has gone….and on the other hand, it feels like she’s been here forever.

We just got back from Georgia a couple days ago, and things have been crazy around here. We’ve been busy trying to get the house in decent shape—still doing laundry from the trip, packing up our stuff and setting things aside to sell/donate.

Halloween was a lot of fun up in Georgia. We took a trip to the pumpkin patch—it was so cold out!

And of course Ella looked adorable in her first Halloween costume—as a little bumble bee. Everyone loved seeing her in her costume. We hit up a couple houses (which is a lot harder there, where the houses are further apart and there’s lots of hills). Then we visited Barbara for a bit. Ella was fussy at Barb’s—she was overwhelmed and over-tired.

Clint’s interviews went well. He even worked for 2 days that we were up there! I’m very proud of him.

Dad, Matt and Clint even took Ella to the fish hatchery in the neighborhood.

The trip up and down is a killer. Ella doesn’t like the long car ride, and neither do we! I think (or hoping at least) that the next ride up to Georgia will be my last one. I just don’t know how many more I have in me. When I got back, I felt really sick the next day, and thought I might be coming down with a cold. I think it was just lack of sleep combined with too much stress and time holed up in the car with an unhappy babe.

Today, we went to Emily and Zach’s wedding at the Maitland Art Center. They had the reception at the Farmer’s Market building in Winter Park. It was a lot of fun…very laid back. They both looked happy. It was the first wedding I’ve been to other than my own, and of course Ella’s first wedding. I took a bunch of pictures, but misplaced my camera cord in our travels this week. Hope I find it soon…

ragazzo: pronto? eh, sì, sto’ a arriva’, è che l’autobus ha fatto un giro de peppe. ah, comunque, senti: mo’ sull’auto sai che è successo? me se accollata una. una che studia ‘na cosa con un nome che non finisce più, economia de quarcosa, boh, chi s’o ricorda. me s’è accollata, nun era manco gnente de che e poi prima de scende me fa: “allora ci vediamo all’università”. e io je faccio: “sì, certo, si me vedi famme ciao”. ‘n poi capi’. vabbe’ dai mo’ te saluto tanto se vedemo fra poco.

Ella has been awesome today! She’s been in an amazing mood all day long. I think this might be the first day…like ever…that she’s been so amiable. It’s the best! I feel like I have so much energy this evening.

In the morning we went out to breakfast, and she didn’t fuss once! We brought some breastmilk in her sippy cup and some pear (it’s her absolute favorite food!) for her to chomp on and she was happy as a clam. She was so talkative all day—chatting it up big time with me and Clint. She was giggly and snuggly and just all around about the sweetest little baby ever.

She even nursed a couple times outside the bedroom!

Clint Skyped with his dad for a bit, and Ella even talked to him and showed off her lovely mood. We got lots of video of her today, squealing and laughing and being generally adorable.

What a wonderful day! Days like this make me so happy to be a mom.

So, we have no idea what we’re doing as far as the house. I had a big blow-out with our Realtor and I know we’re no longer looking to rent it out…but where do we go from here?

We’ve been proceeding as normal, packing up stuff, selling off lots of things we don’t need. We’re planning a garage sale in the next couple of weeks. I’m looking forward to lightening our load a bit.

I’ve been working at the office for several hours each day for the last couple of days. I have to say that it is nice to feel like my old self again. And when I come home Ella is beyond enthused to see me. She’s been in a better mood this week. I think the teething thing might be in a waning period. She’s been giggling and sweet and really fun to be around.

I mean…who could not adore that sweet face?

So, it looks like one way or the other we’ll be making a trip up to Georgia for Halloween. I can’t wait to take Ella out trick-or-treating. And I’m dying to get some classic pumpkin patch shots with her. Oh, the cuteness is almost too much to bear!

I’ve finally got everything I wanted to upload onto one blog site! I had been using blogger for my pregnancy blog and for a while after Ella was born. Then, I tried out iWeb…but did not think it was worth the money after the trial. So, I had to get all the info in one place.

So…here we are!

Everything’s been crazy since we decided to make the move. We’ve been selling tons of stuff on Cragislist, put the house up for rent and are working to majorly consolidate our lives. No hits yet on the house…had a couple drive-bys but that’s about it. I’m getting a little concerned, since the renting agent said October is a dead time for moving.

Ella has been a complete handful recently. She’s getting a lot more fun also, though. She’s cutting her first tooth—it feels like a little razor blade in her mouth! My sweet little thing…

She’s also really close to crawling. She keeps pulling herself around on the ground like a little solider. And she’s rolling over like crazy. That girl’s got energy to spare.

The best thing is that she’s been much more happy, giggling, smiling and less crying. She still ‘fusses’ a lot…but it’s so much easier to handle than that newborn stage. I think Clint is able to enjoy her a lot more now too.

The lifts at the Silly Girl’s block of flats had undergone upgrading since February this year. 

And while the lifts were being upgraded, some kind soul from her block took the opportunity to correct the English posters which were put up by the servicing company.

After all the recent blasting targeting one of the Ms Singapore World contestant, while the silly girl is happy that some folks are walking the talk, she is just wondering if this act constitutes vandalism?

Oh God, please tell me what I should do, how I should feel.

I feel like a total doofus, a wuss for getting worried, for having an reaction. You see, I messaged Kevin this afternoon telling him what I would be doing the rest of the day (ie: i cannot spend time wiht him) and asked him if we were going to meet for dinner, and if we weren’t I would be joining my family for dinner. And there he was replying my message that he would be meeting Jeri for coffee in the evening as she would be leaving the bank and that he was surprised by this. But he did end off the mssage by telling me not to think ‘overwise’.

I called him back and we spoke. I did tell him that I had heard this earlier and explained the ‘reason’ which I heard and he was shocked. He thought that Jeri was ‘hardworking’ and I being the smart aleck was responding ‘and so u thought wrong’. I guess the long and short of the response was that I should that I was confident in him not to waver. But the thing is that the more i think of it, the more I think. Jeri is not a simple person. The sheer fact that Yvonne had so much problems with her but ppl like Kevin not realising it shows how good she is at hiding and lying to him. And the best thing? she was the very reason why Alicia and Kevin did not work out.

And since this evening, KT has not sms me at all…. I dunno why but I am thinking if I should sms him. I am over thinking and over worrying. And this is not good I should give him more faith shouldn’t I?

The silly girl met up with Wise and Kev for lunch this afternoon, and the venue – TCC at Circular Road. It was a pretty funny session and the poor girl was the centre of our ‘attention’… But other than teasing poor old Wise, the food was also the centre of attention for my ‘already starving’ tummy.

Well, the silly girl stuck to her usual order of Seafood Aglio Olio. Tossed in olive oil, garlic and chilli padi slices,  this may not have been one of the best that the silly girl had tried, but this definitely rates high in her list, for it I have tried, but the silly girl still likes it for its simple flavour and fresh pan-seared scallops.

Insecurity.  I believe that I am a good looking person.  I believe I am an intelligent person.  I believe I am a sociable person.  I believe I understand people well.  Yet, at moments I find myself replaying conversations in my head right after they happened thinking about if I said anything making me sound stupid or offensive.  The weird thing is, as soon as I catch myself doing it I know it shouldn’t mean that much to me.  I know that in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t matter what I said.  It simply doesn’t mean anything.  As long as I am being sincere and mean well, it doesn’t matter what that person thinks.  I find myself trying to mold my expressions and mannerisms and maybe holding back certain comments or adding something I might not usually say depending on the crowd I am with.  Although this sounds like it could lead to worse things I am smart enough to not be a complete push over.  I have never once given into peer pressure.  I’ve never done anything I did not feel comfortable with or did not feel is right.  I really haven’t.  I am great at staying true to me in things with substance.  Reading this sounds sort of like a contradiction.  I feel I give off a very confident vibe in public.  I would bet anything none of my friends, even my best of friends, would have the slightest hint that I felt this way.  It is the little things that bother me.  Walking into a 500 person lecture by myself, even if it is from the back of the room.  Talking closely to someone, and the only thing I can focus on is if my breath stinks, or maybe some kind of body odor, or if something is in my teeth, or if maybe a pimple crept to the surface during the day without my notice, or my hair looks goofy.  DUMB, INSIGNIFICANT things like that.  The most annoying part of the whole dilemma is that I know that it is dumb.  I know 99 percent of people could give a crap if my hair is tweaked or heaven forbid I have a little seed in my teeth.  I do not search out people to talk to things like this or really anything else of importance because I feel I know how the entire conversation is going to go.  I know what my certain friends are going to say if I came to them with a concern.  I know what their approach is going to be, and I know what their eventual verdict is going to be.  Same feelings go for my parents.  I love my parents to death, and I honestly truly with all my heart could not ask for more generous and loving parents, but I still do not confide in them with my most personal issues.  Not because they would not listen, they would LOVE to talk to me about anything.  But because I know what they are going to say, and it is not even that I don’t necessarily agree with what they are going to say, but I just don’t want to go through the whole process to come to the same exact conclusion I already knew we were going to come to.  Also, I think I avoid my parents with issues because I do not want to show them my vulnerable side…. Just so whoever, if anyone, is reading this knows, this is the first time sharing this with anyone.  Including myself….. My first desire to write something like this was when I read my first post and noticed how I immediately at the end of my main focus was trying to defend myself from being a nerd.  I was trying to jump the gun on any assumptions someone might draw from reading my blog.  But the fact that I just instantly started to defend myself was fascinating in itself.  Even now I am debating whether I want to post this because I am constantly thinking what one might think of me after reading this.  I will tell you this is a huge venting session for me, and I also think part of me hopes someone will read this and can relate to me.  Maybe someone who may be seen as a “cool” person but really deep down is a little nervous of…. I really don’t even know.  By no means am I a depressed person.  By no means am I even slightly sad.  I am a high energy, highly optimistic person, but would sometimes just like someone to listen to some boring junk like this.  So thank you.

He left for his sales convention today, and I am back into my earlier little sphere – ie: my previous life without him.

He asked me out for breakfast today, and sure we did spend some time together… But let’s see, for a mintue, i am not very confident about suddenly. It might be what Yvonne said yesterday but a bigger part of it is because of the fact that I cannot acknowledge him now, and frankly, other than our close friends, and possibly our family members, no one knows that we are dating each other… It just feels like i am walking back into the Desmond path again. I need to give myself more reassurance and confidence. But who is going to help me?

After 5 hours of air flight and airport transfer, the silly girl is finally back in her favourite place – Hong Kong.
So the days of days of eating, walking and shopping awaits her and how did she start off her trip?

With a deliciously hot bowl of roasted goose noodles, at a restaurant opposite her hotel. Yums!

The silly girl was at the florists this afternoon, ordering a bouquet of flowers for Reggie, and she saw this beautiful bouquet of yellow calla lilies. Seems that this colour of calla lily is finally in season again…

And whoever who receives this bouquet must be really blessed girl.

First Day in Pensacola
Todays Agenda: Laundry, Hair Did, 3 Course Punk Dinner

Woke up at 309 stoked to get to the beach. Weather did not permit, so now its errands day. Finally got some laundry done. Shane was completely out of clean shirts and had moved onto wearing my shirts. Next door to the laundry mat was a beauty supply store, I went a little wild. I got some hair thangs, shinny nail thangs and some wicked tiger tights. Get ready to eat your heart out home.

We ended the night with a three course dinner at Shane’s friends cafe. It was delicious.

Todays Agenda: Lower 9th ward, Brad-Pitt-ville, leave New Orleans.

Sadly, it is time to leave New Orleans. I will really miss it. I mean it has its blemishes –as does everything in the south, including my once pristine complexion– such as nothing is ever open, but I really loved it.

Stopped to say goodbye to Wes before we left New Orleans. He is great. Now all that was left to do was to go see the lower ninth ward. It was crazy. There where so many houses that haven’t/won’t be fixed. It was kind of like any of the scenes in movies where there has just been some natural disaster, only here, its four years later. After making circles we finally found where Brad Pittville is. It was a couple few blocks of really futuristic looking homes that are “green” and flood ready and the likes. The houses were really silly looking, kind of like the Jetsons. They were full of sharp angles, weird colors, and where really elevated.

Tonight’s destination is Pensacola Florida, and its white sand beaches. Four hours of driving and a failed attempt at floating the wolf river (had to stay true to Louisiana style and not be open) later we arrived at the 309 house. 309 is some punk house that has been around for 20+ years and is traveler friendly. We met Crystal, Savannah, and Kelsey, the keepers of 309 and crashed out.
