In case you haven’t caught the “new” issue of Relevant Magazine that came out, you should. The magazine is jam packed with information regarding God, life, and progressive culture. It’s a great tool to understand pop culture while connecting with younger people (youth ministry tool?). It usually takes me awhile to read the entire issue so I’m just now getting to the cover story called, “35 Ideas that Changed the World”. The article deals with the most important (and sometimes controversial) interviews from the magazines five years of interviewing people and issues that changed “everything”.

The idea that caught my eye was the quotes from Moby. It seems that Moby, the international techno sensation that had everyone on a house music craze in high school, broke out with some interesting quotes on his conversion to Christianity and the Church. Check it out.

On Coming to Christianity: “I thought Christ was like this weird Santa Clause figure. (But my friend told me), “If you’re going to talk about Christ, you should probably read the gospels, so at least that way, you’ll know what you’re talking about.’ So I did, and I was converted.”

On the Church: “Individual Christians are quietly doing amazing things. The quiet, humble ally trying to walk in the footsteps of Christ. It’s the loud, arrogant, judgmental, obnoxious Christians who seem to give the rest of Christianity a bad name.”

These quotes are good discussion starters and ideas to think about. For further reader of “Ideas that Changed the World” click here.

What are you reading? What are you processing?
