Authorities in Ohio say Winston was shot and killed Wednesday after he barged into a hotel room with a gun demanding money. There were six people in the room and they’d left the door open to the first-floor room so the adults in the room could stay within earshot of two girls in the room next door.

One of the people in the room, a 70-year-old great-grandmother, reached into her purse on the floor, pulled out a .357-caliber Magnum pistol and shot Winston once in the chest, the newspaper reported.

Winston stumbled to the parking lot, where he was later pronounced dead.

Common in grassy marshes, the Seaside Sparrow’s habitat is the East Coast of the United States. During the winter season, it nests only a few kilometres to the south of its annual territory. The length of the Seaside Sparrow is 15 cm.

A slender bird of prey, the Northern Harrier feeds on moles and other small mammals that it hunts by flying close to the ground. A raptor, it varies its diet by occasionally eating frogs and snakes that it captures in the freshwater marshes and the fields of southern Québec and the Maritimes. During the winter, it is commonly found in the Saint Lawrence Valley, in the Estrie region and in the southern parts of the Maritime provinces. The length of the Northern Harrier is 45 to 61 cm and its wingspan is 97 to 122 cm.

Distrustful of humans, the Black-billed Magpie is common throughout Eurasia and, in North America, it exists only in the North-West. It is believed to have come down this far from Alaska, following the last great glaciation. Omnivorous, it feeds on insects, ticks, fruits and carrion. Sometimes, it will even attack eggs and fledglings. Its length is 45 cm.

Méfiante vis-à-vis des humains, la pie bavarde est répandue dans toute l’Eurasie et n’existe, en Amérique du Nord, que dans le Nord-Ouest. On croit qu’elle est parvenue jusqu’à nous depuis l’Alaska, après la dernière grande glaciation. Omnivore, elle mange des insectes, des tiques, des fruits et de la charogne. Smith & Wesson Model 386 with Pachmayr Decelerator Grips

Changing grips on your revolver is a good way to feel like you are getting a new gun.  Furthermore, when you take off the grips, you can use that opportunity to clean and lubricate your gun. It’s a good thing to fiddle with your personal defense firearms. This helps you know your equipment which is an important thing for any personal defense equipment.

Pachmayer Decelerator Grips are comfortable and provide a great cushion against the hefty recoil of the .357 magnum cartridge.  They fit the hand like a glove. I just swapped out the factory Hogue Bantams (also good grips!) for the Pachmayers, since this handgun will not be used for concealed carry.

Hogue bantam grips are great for concealed carry and do a reasonably good job of custioning recoil.  However, the Pachmayer Decelerators are exceptional in terms of fit to hand and recoil management. They are made for home defense.

Pues, el capítulo de la seman está dedicado a Barragan… El Coloso del miedo…

Nuevamente, el escenario es la falsa Karakura, el manga inicia con la imagen de sorpresa de Soifong al ver la resurrección de Barragan (osea, al ver la imagen que viene a continuación)

“Van a morir…”

Soifong se quedá inmovil un momento, luego se da cuenta que Barragan está caminando hacia ellos, con esa imponente forma, y que todo lo que pisa, se desmorona:

N.A. “OMG! Que zapatos más graciosos XD”

“Oh, ahora entiendo porque te pusiste así… yo en tu lugar demandaría al que te dió esos zapatos”

Entonces Barragan adopata una posición amenazadora (y de ataque) frente a Soifong:

“Solo por haberte burlado de mis zapatos te obligaré a ponerte unos iguales… maldita”

Soifon trata de alertar a Omaeda (osea, le dice que se vaya, pues no es rival para Barragan)… y Barragan se burla de Soifong diciendole: “Tu tampoco eres rival para mí… shinigami” .

“Omaeda, fuera de mi camino”

Pero ya es demasiado tarde… Barragan lanza su ataque: “Aliento de Muerte”, que alcanza a tocar el brazo izquierdo de Soifong.

“Pero que es eso… mejor me voy…”

Mientras Barragan se toma la molestia de explicarle (otra vez) que todo lo que toca envejece y desaparece, Soifong ve con terror (¿y quién no?) como su brazo que ha sido alcanzado por el ataque de Barragan se consume hasta los huesos en segundos, en su desesperación llama a Omaeda y le pide que le corte el brazo o de otra forma ella morirá… 

¿Y qué creen que hace Omaeda?… se resiste al principio pero finalmente:

Escalofriante… brrrr… y como cereza del pastel, Barragan se burla de Soifong: “Vaya, no sabía que los dioses de la muerte también tenían miedo de morir”.

“Estos shinigamis realmente son divertidos ja ja ja ja”

Al dar vuelta a la página, volvemos a la pelea de Toushiro con Halibel.

 “Te aplastaré niñato tonto”

A cierta distancia, parece que Toushiro a logrado esquivar con éxito los ataques de Halibel, al estremo de sentirse confiado y decirle: “Mi zampaktou maneja todo lo relacionado al hielo, incluso el agua de tus ataques”… algo que no es buen recibido por Halibel, quien lo invita a acercarse para pelear y comprobar si la zampaktou de Toushiro (¿Hyonnumaro? no recuerdo bien como se escribe ) puede detener los ataques de Halibel… Obivamente Toushiro no se acerca pues sabe que ella se trae algo entre manos, y un nuevo ataque, “Cascada cortante” (O algo así) arrasa con todo incluyendo a Toushiro (o por lo menos eso parece) y allí termina el capitulo…

So seeing as Camron has come out of hiding and is back making music again (and he reportedly patched things up with Jim…Dipset reunion??? yes please) I thought I’d take it back to the beginning.

This was the first EVER vinyl I bought with my own money, it was a double A-side with ‘Horse & Carriage’.

I love this tune, taking you back to ‘98!

     On Monday, we went to Jackie’s sister’s house for Labor Day. Gorgeous weather, and a nice relaxing day. On the way home, we got a flat tire. It turns out that it was shredded on the inside (I had to drive over 1/2 mile before I was able to pull over), but they couldn’t find anything that punctured it. So, almost $300 later, we have 2 new front tires and the front end aligned. Yes, the tires were expensive, but since we drive so much, I get the top of the line “Touring” tires that have an 80,000 mile warranty,

There’s a letter to the editor of “Quest”, a magazine published by the Muscular Dystrophy Association in it’s Sept-Oct issue that fits right in with my philosophy and this blog’s title:

I’m 53 years old, soon to be 54.  At the age of 3, I was diagnosed with limb-girdle muscular dystrophy, and in 2002 I learned I had osteoporosis and massive degeneration of my hips.  In spite of it all, I’m still on my feet-walking and swimming twice a week as part of my therapy.  I’ve recently begun taking Boniva for osteoporosis and I still use magnets at night and drink green tea to keep healthy.

But I have to say that most of it is your state of mind.  A person’s state of mind rules their body.  To stay healthy, you’ve got to keep motivated. When we give in to negative thinking, that’s what makes us go downhill.

Kevin’s pediatrician, (and the head of the department I work in) has an interesting story. Dr. M. was doing his residency in Wilmington, Delaware in 1972, and one of his patients was a child involved in a car accident. The boy’s father had a new job, but wasn’t able to make it for the first day of work. Dr. M was in the boy’s hospital room when his father was sworn in to his new job. The father was Joe Biden, and he was sworn in to his first Senate term in his son’s hospital room with Dr. M. present. I told him that Biden better give him an invite to the inauguration if they win!

My favorite part of Sarah’s speech at the convention:

I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a “community organizer,” except that you have actual responsibilities. I might add that in small towns, we don’t

quite know what to make of a candidate who lavishes praise on working people when they are listening, and then talks about how bitterly they cling to their

religion and guns when those people aren’t listening.

We tend to prefer candidates who don’t talk about us one way in Scranton and another way in San Francisco.

Of course, I grew up about 20 minutes away from Scranton, and I’m writing this post clutching my Smith and Wesson .357, with my Norinco SKS at my side… 

Prior to the speech, I wasn’t sold on either candidate, but was leaning toward McCain (800 million in NEW government spending by Obama leaves me no other choice). Now, I’m cautiously optimistic with Palin on the ticket. The main draw for me is that she goes against the status quo, fought excessive spending, recognizes that we must drill domestically WHILE developing new sources of energy, and she sold her state’s jet on eBay!

I wonder why US Weekly magazine had such a contrast in covers: Barack and Michelle Obama with the headline “Why Barack Loves Her” vs. the most recent with Sarah Palin and Trig (her baby with Down’s Syndrome) and the headline “Babies, Lies, and Scandal”.

Ma quanto è strano questo dicembre in cui non mi prende a scrivere
come già detto..natale sta arrivando e quest’anno mi sta prendendo meno degli altri anni..anzi ora come ora spero solo che questi 2 giorni che rimangono passino velocemente..
sto cercando di ritornare sui binari..di riorganizzare il tutto..
ora le cose sembrano andare meglio da tutti i punti di vista..anche se a volte è difficile…e si continua a fissare muri..ed a ricorrere l’orizzonte dei pensieri..

l’anno sta per finire..sono appena trascorsi 357 giorni e ci si avvicina al termine di questo lungo e complicato anno..sto preparando lo slide show..quest’anno se lo merita..sono successe tante cose..e ne sono accadute così poche..è stato un anno davvero particolare..in cui sono successe tante cose..cosa che io non avrei mai e poi immaginato..
..ma tutte semplicemente accomunate dal mio tornare a casa e a battere i miei pensieri sui tasti di questa questa tastiera nera…
