The Asus factory has certainly been busy this morning. After churning out some new motherboards, its moved on to high performance laptops with the N81Vg. The 14in lap-happy PC has standard specs in most areas, however it’s packing one monster of a graphics card. The Nvidia GeForce GT 120M is DirectX 10 compatible, handles 1080p HD video with ease and uses 110 gigaflops of processing power. To put that in perspective, this laptop received a 3Dmark performance score akin to some hardcore gaming PCs.

Futuremark très connu pour son logiciel de bench 3DMark sort aujourd’hui une autre façon de tester votre navigateur. Il fallait bien trouver un moyen pour que les geeks puissent montrer qui a la plus grosse avec leur navigateur internet. J’ai découvert cette information grâce au site PC INpact. Étant curieux de nature, je me suis dit qu’au lieu de me fier aux print screen du site, rien de mieux que de faire les tests par sois même étant donné que les machines des utilisateurs sont souvent bien différentes des sites informatiques.

Pour commencer, sachez que je possède un Core 2 Duo E6300 tout ce qui a de plus basique cadencé à la fréquence d’origine 1,86Ghz couplé avec une carte AMD/ATI HD4850 512MB de chez Sapphire ainsi que de 4Go de mémoire vive de marque LDLC sur une carte mère MSI P965 Neo-F. Vous voilà donc informé sur la configuration de test. Ceci ne comprendra que deux navigateurs, car je ne vois pas l’intérêt d’en posséder plusieurs (en-dehors d’Internet Explorer 7 qui est inclus dans Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bits).

Les browsers sont donc :

• Internet Explorer 7
• Opera 9.64

Internet Explorer 7 s’en sort avec 168 points d’après le bench.

Opera quant à lui s’en sort un peu mieux avec 441 points.

Que faut-il retenir de ce genre de benchmark ? Est-il plus intéressant que le célèbre test Acid 2 et 3 ? La réponse est NON. Ce n’est pas parce que vous obtiendrez le maximum de points avec votre navigateur — qui je le rappelle peut varier d’une configuration à une autre – que ceux-ci respecteront les standards W3C du web. Encore une fois, Futuremark nous sort de quoi faire une discussion sur un forum et critiquer ceux qui n’auront pas le meilleur score.

De plus, d’un point de vue sécurité, ce site ne reflètera rien des failles internet de votre browser. Pour terminer, nous noterons que le site est en version « Beta ». Les chiffres sont donc à prendre avec de grosses pincettes.

Ok, io doar azi am auzit, cu toate că evenimentul s-a petrecut în 10 ianuarie. Dar vă zic şi vouă, pentru că ştiu că vă interesează şi sunteţi pasionaţi de domeniu .

AMD au reuşit să doboare recordul de pe 3DMark 05 (45474), să doboare recordul de frecvenţă atinsă de un procesor (6.5 GHz), şi să doboare recordul de temperatură la care procesorul să funcţioneze (-270°C).

Nett vom finnischen Overclockerteam: Sie blenden am Schluss ne “dont try this at home” Warnung ein.

Durante a CES2009, realizada neste mês, a AMD conseguiu quebrar um grande record mundial de overclock. Alcaçou o primeiro lugar em pontuação no programa benchamrk 3dmark 05. Outro record foi batido ao colocar um Phenom 2 rodando a 6.5Ghz, isso mesmo, é o maior core clock obtido por uma processador quad core até hoje. Apesar do record do 3dmark já ter sido batido este mês por processador Ci7 da Intel, o record de maior clock em um processador Quad perdura.

A AMD apresentou para o mundo esta façanha na CES2009 o maior evento do mundo relacionado a eletrônicos. Inclusive colocaram um vídeo no youtube mostrando o feito.

Um fato que chamou bastante a atenção foi a temperatura em que o processador estava trabalhando, ele chegou a operar a nada menos do que -245º C e rodando o Windows de forma estável. A AMD mostrou que seu novíssimo processador está livre de um das grandes dificuldades dos overclockers, pois, nos processadore anteriores a este os processadores ao enfrentarem temperaturas muito baixas paravam de funcionar, este efeito é conhecido no meio como coldbug. As baixas temperaturas possibilitam o overclocker atingir velocidade mais alta com seu processador, além da  baixa temperatura favorecer a estabilidade das tensões do processador.

Para quem dizia que a AMD não sabe fazer marketing, está ai um exemplo de que eles estão ao menos aprendendo.

You probably remember last week we put a Dell Inspiron 546 against a custom-built computer bought from Newegg.  This week’s post will focus on proving the advantage of the (cheaper!) custom-built computer.  Like I said last time, I don’t actually have the physical computers with me to test, so I’m going to have to take a different route than I would really like to in order to benchmark these computers.  What I will do in order to most fairly benchmark these computers is break them up by their individual parts (CPU and GPU) and provide information on already performed benchmarks by other sites around the Internet.  From there I’ll determine which one is better and by how much percentage.

Part One, CPU Comparison:

For this test we’ll pull from PassMark’s huge list of CPU tests.  Users download PassMark’s PerformanceTest software and then use it to test their computer hardware.  The results of those tests can then be uploaded to PassMark, where they are then added to the online list.  This is a very nice and simple way for people to test their hardware and have their data available for anyone else to see free of charge.

The two CPUs we will be testing are the Inspiron’s AMD Athlon™ II X2 215 (2.7GHz, 1MB) and the custom-built’s Intel Pentium E6300 2.8GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor.

PassMark gives the Athlon 1436 points on their points scale, whereas the Pentium receives 1941 points.  Here is a graph that illustrates this:

This means that the Pentium E6300 performs about 35% better than the Athlon II X2 215 in PassMark’s synthetic tests.

Part Two, Graphics Card Comparison:

For this test we will again use PassMark’s charts for comparison.  Graphics cards’ performance are uploaded in the same fashion that the CPUs’ performance are.

The two GPUs that are being testing are ATI’s Radeon HD3200 and ATI’s Radeon HD4350.  Before I show the chart, I also want to say that the HD3200 is a bit older than the HD4350, and so it only has normal DirectX 10 compatibility, whereas the HD4350 is quite new and supports up to DirectX 10.1, meaning you can take advantage of the upgraded DirectX specifications.

PassMark gives the Radeon HD3200 116 points on their points scale, whereas the Radeon HD4350 receives 234.  I am also going to include the Radeon HD4850 on this chart.  I’ll explain my reasoning later.

Simply looking at the model number easily shows which card is better

As shown on the graph here, the HD4350 is leaps and bounds better than the HD3200. This means the custom-built computer wins by about 101%, meaning the HD4350 has more than double the performance than the HD3200.

So I included the HD4850 to show you just how much better performance $65 more in investment will get you.  Going from $517 for the custom-built to $582 will get you much improved performance.  How much exactly? 469% better performance over the HD4350.  With the HD4850, you can get some really good gaming performance (Most games will run on Very High Quality on 1680X1050 resolution).

Hopefully this helps to show you just how much better gaming performance you can get out of a comparibly priced custom-built computer when it’s put up against a pre-built computer.  If you are interested in CPU and GPU comparison’s, as well as finding out how to get the best bang for your technology buck, website Tom’s Hardware is a great resource for information and research.  They constantly keep updated CPU and GPU charts as well as feature articles on which graphics card or CPU is best at certain price points.  Another great way to test the computer you already have is to use Futuremark’s 3DMark benchmark software, a widely accepted industry standard in 3D benchmarking.

Hey Guys. If you do like to Overclock and benchmark this will literally  blow your jaw to the floor.

Kingpin and Shamino,  some of the best overclockers ever existed just broke the 3DMark Vantage World Record. For recording, the Vantage preset comes @ P (performance)  score. The record was holded by Kingpin  with 42,968 points  using 4 x GTX 285 nvidia GPUs. They had another oportunity since Kingpin went to Taiwan and so they really took the words as a challenge. Please have a look at the frankenstein´s laboratory whole setup and you will see how many GPUs they used:

Yeeeees. Thats 4x HD5870 new ATI GPUs.  CPU-Z says Core i7  Extreme was used this time but check the manufacturing process is 32nm and the codename Gulftown which is just around the corner. Now look at the results.

Got the WR  and smashed it by almost 10k points more. Now I can´t find my jaw on the floor…  Big congrats to Vince Lucido (Kingpin) and Peter Tan (Shamino) on this accomplishment.

Συγκεκριμένα σύμφωνα με τα τελευταία νέα που μας έρχονται από το εξωτερικό τα παιδιά από το Ολλανδικό site Τweakers.net κατάφεραν να σπάσουν το παγκόσμιο ρεκόρ στο μετροπρόγραμμα 3DMark03 πετυχαίνοντας 183959 3D Marks. To νέο παγκόσμιο ρεκόρ επιτεύχθηκε με τρεις κάρτες γραφικών 5870 και έναν Xeon W3540 ο οποίος ήταν χρονισμένος στα 5231ΜΗz. Να σας θυμίσουμε ότι το προηγούμενο παγκόσμιο ρεκόρ είχε πραγματοποιηθεί με τρείς ATI Radeon 4890.[next]

So yesterday I acquired 3DMark06 for benchmarking purposes.

Benchmarking using 3DMark06. I have 3DMark Vantage but I don’t dare to use it, furthermore I’m running benchmarks on the PC which is running Windows XP.

Right now I have no other benchmarking methods available other than 3DMark06.

Hardware Specifications:

CPU – Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 2.2GHz
Memory – 2GB DDR2-667
Graphics – ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 1024MB GDDR3
Operating System – Windows XP SP3
Test Resolution: 1280 x 1024, 32 bits color, 75 Hertz refresh rate

Software used:

Zotac Firestorm (for overclocking)
GPU-Z ver 0.3.4 (for comparison purposes)
3DMark06 (benchmarking purposes)

Base clock speeds.

3DMark Score: 6795 points

Overclocking round 1.

3DMark Score: 6851 points

Overclocking round 2.

This is the maximum possible I can get, as during the tests my graphic card seems to be hitting its limits, and my monitor began to flicker some anomalies during the test runs.

3DMark Score: 6963 points

I realized that while performance in the HDR/SM3.0 section of the tests continue to improve with the increment of clock speeds, things are not the same in the Shader Model 2.0 aspect in the tests, with the base clock speeds winning out over the overclocked speeds, yet I can’t tell whether the differences made can be dismissed as small or not.

CPU tests, with my current C2D E4500, are horrible; averaging 0.5 fps for the first CPU test and 0.9 fps for the second test. Enough said.

1. Go to the Start menu in the Accessories \ Systm Tools Section
2. Click on Disk Cleanup
3. Click on More Options
4. Click on Clean Up in the System Restore Section and respond “Yes”
5. Ckick on Disk Cleanup
6. Select Everything and click on OK and respond “Yes”
7. Rignt Click on My Computer
8. Go to the Advanced Tab
9. Click on Settings in the Preformance Section
10. Deselect options which are useless to you
11. Click on Apply and OK on both Windows
12. Go to the control panel and click on “Add or Remove Programs”
13. Uninstall useless applications (Do not uninstall drivers)
14. Click on “Add/Remove Windows Components”

Hoje gostaria de mostrar a vocês um site muito parecido com o Can You Run It, ele se chama YouGamers eu o achei a alguns meses atrás mas só agora que e eu o adicionei na coluna com os sites recomendados e vou explicar o porque que ele esta aqui.

Primeiramente o Can You Run It não é atualizado a um bom tempo, eu acho que quem o atualizava sumiu, e o Game-o-meter do YouGamers não só esta mais atualizado como é muito mais completo, por exemplo eles não só dão as informações necessárias para um jogo rodar que o Publlisher recomendou, mas também dão as suas próprias recomendações, aqui esta as recomendações de Demigod como exemplo:

Como ele é bem preciso resolvi coloca-lo aqui para outros se beneficiarem desse ótimo site, ele é totalmente confiável então quando o navegador perguntar se pode rodar o Java clique em Run.
