Steve, Steve, Steve…..

Yes, I know you’ve heard this before, but why is AT&T the exclusive wireless carrier for the iPhone?

I love my iPhone. I had a first generation & now have a 3G. Of course no one told me until I was in the process of buying it that I do not have the 3G network in my area. Nope. Do NOT. At the time I bought it only two metro cities in Oklahoma had the 3G network. Now a few smaller cities have it, but it’s still not available to in my area. I like the speed of the 3G network, but the Edge network has been working fine for my needs. And there’s no complaint with the phone coverage. There are occasional dead spots with the AT&T towers when traveling, but no major complaints. Stay tuned for the COMPLAINTS in the next paragraph.

AT&T…..

Right up until last week, things seemed pretty much hunky-dory with my AT&T mobile service. Let me begin by saying that my phone display has ALWAYS shown me the bars for phone coverage and next to the bars it has ALWAYS said AT&T.

I just returned from a two week trip away from home. The iPhone display looked the same. Now, get this.

One week into the trip, at precisely 2:33 a.m. a text message comes in and wakes everyone up from sound sleep. It frightened me because I was afraid it was a family emergency or something of equal importance. Nope. Not the case.

It was, in fact, a text message from AT&T which read as follows:

“Important AT&T FREE MSG: Your off-network wireless data
usage is violating the terms of your contract.
Please contact us at 800-331-0500 for details.”

I had no idea what it meant, but I dismissed it and tried to go back to sleep. Seriously, AT&T – 2:33 a.m. ??? Are you freaking kidding me?

=================================================================

The next morning, the display next to the bars read “Off Network” [the display on the mister's iPhone still said AT&T] and I had an email from AT&T titled:

Excessive Domestic Off-Network Data Usage Alert for xxx-xxx-xxxx.

It read as follows:

Dear LELA MCCRACKEN,

Our systems have detected that you are transmitting a substantial amount of data while roaming in areas not directly served by AT&T. The Terms and Conditions of our data plans (including unlimited plans) provide an “off-net usage” allowance that is equal to the lesser of 24 megabytes or 20% of the megabytes included in your plan.

To assist you with knowing when you are using another carrier’s network, we have changed the label on your wireless data device screen to display “Off Network”. Please be aware of this network label and work to limit your data transmission while outside the AT&T data network boundaries. The AT&T data network coverage map is available at www.wireless.att.com/coverageviewer

We are available to answer any questions you have by contacting us at 800-331-0500 and referencing keyword: “DRC_xxx”.

Thank you,
AT&T

=================================================================

Completely unbelievable. So I did, in fact, call AT&T with questions. I first informed the young lady that I received a text at 2:33 a.m. telling me I was violating my contract. That seemed to stun her a little. Geez. The young lady then attempted to explain in very grey terms that I was using a tower not owned by AT&T and it was costing them money. AHEM. Yes, well. Poor AT&T. I explained to her that I knew AT&T had to pay for us to use other towers, but how exactly was I supposed to KNOW when I was ‘Off network’ if my iPhone display was reading AT&T? AND that with the amount of money that I give to AT&T each month, that I’m certainly not going to break the company by occasionally using another tower (even if I don’t know I’m using one!)

She seemed to understand and told me that’s why they changed the display to read “Off Network.” How handy. So I asked her exactly what that meant. Truthfully…I could tell she didn’t know. She mumbled around and finally said, well they’ll review your account in uh…about 6 months & then it might go back to saying AT&T. WHAT?? Holy Hell. Unreal. I said…oh, okay, so then … again… I won’t know when I’m “Off Network.” Hrm. What a wonderful idea [please read all the dripping sarcasm intended.] I said, “I’m going to be here another week – so, I’m not even supposed to check email?” Her suggestion (you’ll like this) well, maybe you could use your husband’s iPhone. LOL. OMG. I didn’t even bother to explain to her it’s THE SAME DAMN ACCOUNT. Good grief. She finally told me that if I kept using it off network they could eventually suspend my account. Laughable.

The story continues….(are you still reading?) The next day, I logged on to my AT&T account to check it for details. The first thing I saw was this greeting:

“Valued customer since 06/30/1998″ Wheeee. I saw nothing of interest or helpful and logged off.

The next day I got an email from AT&T. It was titled: ATT_Update

The mail started:

Thank you for choosing AT&T!
This e-mail is to confirm and explain recent changes you made to your wireless account.

In your Customer Service Summary CSS you will find: blah, blah, blah……..

WHAT?? I DID NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES. PERIOD. NONE. Now what? So I called them AGAIN.

I explained that I had NOT made any changes to my knowledge and I wanted to check to see what had been changed. It turned out the only change was the one that AT&T had made to flag my account & change my display to “Off Network.” I said…”Okay, then, but I DIDN’T MAKE THE CHANGE, AT&T did.” She said…yes, but anytime something changes, that email gets sent. I told her, “Uhhuh, but it SHOULD say “…recent changes AT&T made.” She finally agreed.

And she went on to tell me that it would actually be 90 days when my account was reviewed again & if the off network usage had dropped, that the account would no longer be flagged & the display would revert to say “AT&T.” AGAIN, UNREAL. Seriously, AT&T, who thought this up? No place is there any information (that I can find) which says what the time frame is for using that ” 24 megabytes or 20% of the megabytes included in my plan.”

Seriously, is there anyone here who thinks AT&T will actually kill my account for these infractions that I didn’t even know I was committing? Would they rather do without my $149.00 per month for these two iPhones? Laughable.

So, Steve…..while you chose AT&T because you thought they had the best network – I guess you know by now, that there are a LOT of unhappy iPhone users. Let’s see what we can do about this.

Okay, Steve? Thanks! I knew we could count on you!

Yearning for an iPhone? Mesmerized by those ads that promise to have your iPhone find romantic recip

Yearning for an iPhone?

Mesmerized by those ads that promise to have your iPhone find romantic recipes for your supper by the time you get home or identify the various bugs crawling around in your dainties drawer?

Well, don’t shell out $199 for the two-year contract for the fancy new, high speed 3GS or even $99 for the year-old 8GB 3G iPhone.

First, ask yourself, why do I want the iPhone, and, if it is for the applications and not just for calling, ask: do I travel north of a line drawn between Brunswick and Lewiston?

If you do, you will fall into the AT&T 3G/Edge black hole.

You need to know that the iPhone is two different things.

1) A phone.

2) A computer that can use a high speed network by AT&T called 3G or 3rd Generation.

Apple only makes the iPhone. It is only as good as the network (AT&T) it is on, and while the fast 3G iPhone was introduced (and sold in Maine) last July, the AT&T 3G network to go with it did not come into southern Maine until the middle of November.

Until then, Mainers who were paying for the 3G data plan like everyone else in the US were only getting AT&T’s much slower EDGE network.

IMHO, kind of like paying for DSL and getting dialup. No refund however.

EVEN NOW, AT&T dealers have absolutely no idea when 3G data service will be extended north of Brunswick/Lewiston.

Should you doubt me, do not, repeat, do not take a sales person’s word that it will be by a certain date; ask the AT&T or Apple store manager.

There is absolutely nothing in writing as of the date of this blog as to the time that the fast 3G data network will be extended north.

So, if you stay south of that line, and if that is where you do your bird watching/identifying (a fine app I have found) or if you do your restaurant searching (another bunch of fine apps), you will be hunky dory.

North of that line you will be on the AT&T Edge technology, or on no service at all.

Should you wish to check service north of that line, go to the AT&T coverage map.

Once there select “Data” at top of map to turn the map blue; enter Maine as State; click “view map.”

The resulting map of Maine should be remain blue; the darkest blue around Portland is the 3G network; the egg shell blue is the Edge network, and the hatched blue are Partner networks which pass some data.

Use the elevator to zoom in.

Notice that the Edge service in most cases simply hugs the I-95 corridor.

For example, with Edge you can use (slowly) some of your apps in Oakland but not in Belgrade; in Newport but not in Corina; in Bar Harbor; Southwest and Northeast Harbor but nearly nowhere else on Mount Desert Island.

Oh, and then there is the matter of the dropped calls with the 3G iPhone; but that is the subject for another blog.

When it comes to unlocking the iPhone users currently have two choices available in order to complete this arduous task. Users can choose to order an unlocking sim card, or download/upload software that unlocks iPhones.

The sim card solution is about as simple as it gets. All that is required is to place an order, receive the sim card, and insert it. A lot of users prefer using the sim card for its simplicity, but the software is slightly more versatile. For instance when a new iPhone firmware version is released the Software is often updated for the new version instantly on http://www.iphone-sim-unlock.com with in hours of the Apple update release.

Several companies offer the software unlocks for the iPhone, but most do not off the full software unlock, and with an incomplete software unlock iPhone users are unlocking their iPhone only to “Brick” them, Making them unusable. Most iPhone unlocking companies offer very little to no support for the software unlock.

One company that has risen above the rest is http://www.iphone-sim-unlock.com iPhone sim unlock not only provides custom files developed and tested by several teams of developers, but they provided true world-class customer service. The instructions included systematic details including pictures for each step of the software unlocking process. They also provided free jail-breaking and dozens of free apps when the unlocking software is purchased.

Recently I was asked by my fourteen year old daughter for a cell phone. As it is I pay well near two hundred dollars a month for mine and my wives iPhones, so an iPhone was out of the question for my daughter. I started doing some research for a cheap and easy solution for my predicament. I had promised my daughter a phone if she preformed well in school, and to my delight (and dismay) she got a 4.0.

After doing some research and looking around I thought I was doomed. I told her I would get her a nice smartphone, but nothing is affordable when it comes to any smartphone. Most plans them selves run any where from 70-120 dollars a month. Most smart phones themselves cost over two hundred dollars.

After days of searching I started giving up hope. It was only when I was doing research for unlocking and jailbreaking my iphone that I ran across the dream deal. On the site http://www.iphone-sim-unlock.com I was able to find the perfect phone the blackberry curve, for free. I figured it must be a 5-year plan, or something with no minutes included, but after looking, doing some research it truly was an amazing deal! My daughter got a free phone and plenty of minutes to talk to her friends., and after a year the phone is free and I will have no more contract.

The phone features a metallic finish, clean lines and soft edges, the BlackBerry Curve 8320 smartphone is the smallest and lightest BlackBerry smartphone ever to come with a full QWERTY keyboard. It’s packed with incredible features, including a camera, media player, Wi-Fi capabilities, expandable memory, Voice Dialing, BlackBerry Maps and trackball navigation. Plus, you get all the core functionality you’ve come to expect in a BlackBerry smartphone – email and text messaging, instant messaging, web browser and advanced phone functionality. The Black Berry Curve is every thing smartphone users have come to expect from the constantly expanding market of amazingly advanced phones.

Considering the phone its self is nearly 400 dollars it was an amazing deal. I recently received the phone more then a month ago. My daughter is ecstatic. She keeps telling me how all of her friends keep saying they wish their dad was as cool as hers was. It is a wonderful feeling making your loved ones happy, and at an affordable price it’s a deal that wont leave you in the poor house.

Because the iPhone is an expensive mobile phone, it is highly recommended for any owner to get iPhon

Because the iPhone is an expensive mobile phone, it is highly recommended for any owner to get iPhone insurance to reduce his chances of embarrassment in case of any unexpected theft, loss or damage. Insuring your iPhone against these unexpected factors is a safety measure that many experts advise and this is why most people buy iPhone insurance – to stay on the safer ground.

However, insuring your iPhone against mechanical, environmental and other factors is not a hectic task. There are plenty of insurance providers who offer their services in this regards. Moreover, to make things simple, there are even several intermediate people who can help you make the insurance process easy and simple. There are even several online insurance providers who extend their services to those who cannot afford spending time specifically on this.

There are plenty of iPhone insurance schemes and policies that these insurance providers offer to insure your iPhone. No matter what kind of iPhone insurance you take, almost all the insurance companies look for some information from you before insuring your iPhone. In fact you don’t have to give out all your personal information. In fact, all you need to give is your name, address, bank details and phone detail (IMEI)

If you are insuring your iPhone by personally visiting the insurance provider, then you may not have to produce your credit/debit card details. But, if you are making use of the internet to insure your iPhone, then you probably have to produce the credit/debit card details, your account number, bank sort code and some other small details. Make sure that the page on which you give your payment card and personal details has https in the address bar and the page is secured with the small yellow padlock icon.

Also, make sure that you go through the terms and conditions listed in the form before you sign and apply. These terms and conditions may often involve some hidden risks and potential damages that prevent you from claiming your insurance in case of theft or other damages. Analyze and research on the company’s terms, conditions, policies and the trust worthiness of the company before you decide on the company.

Guidelines and Safety Measures for buying iPhone Insurance :A wise move is to make sure the insurance company is well established for many years before buying your iPhone insurance.

With the news today that the iPhone may be offered by non AT&T carriers by next year, this might

With the news today that the iPhone may be offered by non AT&T carriers by next year, this might be a good time to post a personal review of the iPhone for anyone interested in what I have to say on the topic. However, don’t get too excited yet; there is plenty of evidence suggesting that AT&T won’t easily bow out of their exclusive contract.

I have put my 3G iPhone through an extreme gauntlet, tossing at it anything and everything I could, to see just how much it could flex, multi-task, and serve double duty. The latter has to do with maximizing the additional $30 Internet fee per month and eliminating my need to purchase other desired technologies, such as a GPS device or XM radio a la carte. Make no mistake - I have drunk the Coolaid and won’t look back. This little device suits my techno-personality to a tee and allows me the freedom to multi-task anywhere/anytime I choose to, using many of the same software products that I would use on my computer, in iPhone format. At the end of a long day, instead of firing up the computer at home after sitting in front of one all day long, I check my must-see items (Facebook and email) and am good for a long night’s rest.

You will note that I have many items listed below under the “My Dislikes” and “What’s Missing” sections below, but that should be no surprise. As humans, we are all too capable of immediately locating faults and expressing our desire for fixes. The iPhone is only in its second generation for Pete’s sake, and the anticipated release of the new OS this summer should incorporate several of the “What’s Missing” elements. So, I will be reasonably patient and await whatever enhancements come through updates and OS version releases.

My Likes

Great call quality (no complaints, can’t remember any dropped calls after 100 days)

Ease of use, smooth and very responsive finger touch, finger slide

Web material moves from portrait to landscape with phone rotation (not true for all apps, however)

Access to wireless 3G network wherever you get cell phone reception – that alone is pretty impressive

Doubles as a mobile GPS unit. Its built-in GPS function is simply awesome. It’s a mashup of an online search capability, retrieving search hits and respective addresses/phone numbers, mapping software for all hits, and GPS. Plug in what you’re looking for, anything at all, and the phone will map it out for you, complete with a route and directions from your current location

Doubles up as an XM-like radio source so you can get streaming video or music via AOL Radio, Pandora, and satellite radio stations. I rarely listen to standard radio stations in my car anymore. With the MP3 jack in my car, I just plug my phone in and listen over my car speakers

Doubles up as an iPod, podcatcher, and mobile game device

Ability to search the Web while talking on the phone. However, this is about the only two things it can do at the same time; see dislikes for more on that

Having built-in keyboard and softphone (dial pad) pop up automatically when you need to use them.

Easy app download

Availability of so many apps, with most being free and the rest being quite inexpensive (between $2-3 for the most part; some are higher)

That the usual favs have already been designed in iPhone format (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Wikipedia, Google including the sub-Google functions, such as Google Reader and Google Docs

Free app updates

Camera is decent enough for me for a 2 megapixel shooter, but you will find reviews which say otherwise

Although it took some getting used to, I do like the Contacts navigation by touching the letter of the person’s name and then easily flicking to pinpoint exact location

Good output on speakerphone

Battery to date has been quite adequate, but some reviews say otherwise. To be sure, the rich media capability is a power hog. If interested in technical review, see link at end of this post

Super easy email integration with the built-in email app. You add your non-firewalled accounts the same way you would using Microsoft Outlook on your home computer

Great email-reading format

Data fields in emails integrate effortlessly with Contacts list. Anything that shows up in an email such as anybody’s email address (say in the cc: list) or phone numbers – it all can be imported into a new Contact record or added to an existing contact record, eliminating the need to type any new info in. Awesome!

My Dislikes

Being a Windows user, it’s not Windows-like. There’s no menu or back key for navigation. It’s a single “app-at-a-time” OS and therefore doesn’t multi-task well (by design apparently)

Browser pages are not great to view if the app isn’t formatted for iPhone. They work ok, but everything is quite small, especially finding and working with login boxes. But for general reading-oriented Web sites (blog posts, magazines and journal articles) you can double-tap and the iPhone will resize the output to best fit your viewing window (very cool feature)

Can’t put app icons in folders to organize them (i.e., put all your news feed or music apps together). You can move icons, but it is ridiculously clumsy, especially moving icons across pages. As you download more and more apps, you have to scroll across several pages of icons to locate what you’re looking for. This has to be my worst complaint. Who invented this system?

The phone, while quite sleek, is slippery, evading a grip without some means of traction. This makes having a skin of some kind mandatory

You can only have one window open at a time; so whenever you jump to another application, say via a link, your first app is automatically closed. I would really like to see cross-application functionality, via a back button or a minimize/maximize function

You need to be connected via a wifi connection to download apps or updates over 10 MB. But I’ve found when camping onto area wifi networks, I can’t get into the App Store for these big downloads. I get an error message, saying no connection to the App Store. So that leaves me generally unable to download large updates

Small keyboard resulting in making a fair amount typing of mistakes. It’s pretty much one-handed operation, rather than the old two-thumb mode used on prior phones. But I can go as fast as my old phone, so the speed isn’t terribly frustrating. Would like to see frequently used symbols placed on the alpha page such as the @ sign and . (dot). Now you have to toggle back and forth between a numeric page and an alpha page, but it’s still easier than button-type phones, I think. All of this could be augmented by having a landscape keyboard which would give the finger far more breathing room for less errors, and possibly allowing the frequently used symbols to co-exist on the alpha page. You can download a landscape keyboard for a small fee, but it’s only for emailing, not texting, and takes few more clicks to transfer your message to your email application

Touch is overly sensitive sometimes. If you don’t get completely out of an app you can easily find your phone calling someone or surfing a Web page unintentionally, as you move your phone from hand to pocket or purse. On the other hand, if you are successfully closed out of your Contacts application, dialing someone inadvertantly cannot happen, as it can with a button keypad phone

Touch is not sensitive enough in the car – exactly where you want it to be. Seemingly, the road vibration puts up a barrier to the touch recognition. Taking triple the effort to get the phone to accept your touch instruction, this delays the return of your attention to where it should be, on driving. Voice dialing would resolve that

Quite slow to load Web pages in spite of claims of faster browsing on the 3G network. I was expecting something closer to the speeds you get on a computer using a wifi network. Not so. I’ve timed page loads at anywhere between 20 and 45 seconds. When reading multi-page articles, that means multiple wait times between pages. Apple recommends always using an existing wifi connection if one is available for faster surfing

Lack of effective search results in the App Store when using search terms by subject or topic. Excellent results if you happen to know the exact name of an app. I’m glad I have a DVR when watching the iPhone TV commercials. They don’t tell you the name of the app, so I rewind and carefully watch for the name of an app just before the finger touches it. Their search enginge needs better tagging, to be sure

The camera’s white balance can’t handle bright sunlight, but that’s not unusual for a camera phone

What’s Missing?

Video recording

Multi-messaging text (coming with next OS)

Landscape keyboard (coming with next OS)

Voice dialing, although you can purchase an app for this

Flash support for the Web browser (disappointing)

Memory card for file transfer

Built-in office software. To create documents, you’ll need to purchase Quickoffice Mobile Office Suite – $19.99. Or for read only access, use Google docs; a perfect solution for mobile document viewing

Copy and paste functionality (coming with next OS)

Beside the Phone, the Features I Use the Most (and in this order)

Retrieving email (personal only, as my workplace does not support the iPhone yet)

iPhone apps for Facebook, Twitter, and RSS feeds which include my favorite news sites and blogs

Streaming radio/music stations: satellite radio, Pandora, AOL radio, NPR radio (includes podcasts)

GPS – I can find my way to anything

Games – while waiting anywhere

Checking the DOW

Identifying songs/artists of music heard on the radio or played anywhere, even at a coffee shop (very cool software available to do this)

Watching streaming videos (YouTube, streamed TV clips, news streams)

Listening to my iPod tunes

Checking movie schedules – except during my annual Academy Awards chase, when this will definitely move into first place

I’ll post some of my favorite iPhone applications in a future post.

I am a glossy magazine junkie. That’s right news stand owners, I’m the moocher u love to hate. If I can’t find a library in your hood, best believe I will stand in your stores and read all the latest news from every magazine I can get my hands on in a half hour! Annnnd I won’t buy not a one of them! Ohh and don’t be a busy news stand either, because then I will stay and mooch for hours. And I dont discriminate on my reading either….oh no. Some owners will have their workers stand in front of a particular area in hopes that it will make me buy. I laugh at them actually. They must not know I can go from the Times to VIBE to OK to Country Homes and Gardens. I love it all….BUT I am about sick of these Hollywood folk who still flaunt their ridiculous and extravagant purchases while I am questioning if I should cut back to two meals a day!

I don’t want to see or hear about the ridiculous amount of money that Diddy just wasted on his new Mabach. I don’t care about Lindsay Lohan’s $5,000 retail therapy on new underwear to get over her lover Sam. I don’t care that you can’t afford to keep your eighth house Victroria Beckham. And NO…… I don’t feel sorry for you because you have to actually buy your Louboutin’s, while your five year old surfs the internet on his brand new Apple Mac Pro sitting next to his 3G iPhone! And if I hear another song about someone buying out the damn bar I am going to explode!

Point is…..I think advertising companys, music video directors, and media publishers need to take charge and redirect the message. Gone are the days where “bling” was in. Now enter the new age of the broke and desperate. The era when those who can show you how to save money have become demi Gods in the eyes of the consumer. With unemployment reaching an all time high, people have resorted to survival mode. But of course we know saving money is not a money making business; unless of course you happen to own a bank. (And don’t let me get started on that) Capitalism thrives on people spending money so that the world can go round. But then when you don’t have any money…..what do you do?

This one is certainly going to take you on a swirl. With stunning gold and black looks, it is definitely one of the best in terms of elegance and functions. Not priced high, it can beat all mobiles in its range.
It’s a 94 gms lithium battery phone with a talk time of 300 minutes and stand by time of 370 hrs. This slider phone has a TFT display making it look elegant with picture blogging for things to look better. Music format is basically ACC and MP3 giving a fairly good option to listen to music. Messaging includes instant message, EMS and MMS.
Just like other phones it too has the basic features of quad band, calendar, scheduler, to-do, notes, flight mode, handsfree, speaker, internal antenna, real time clock, alarm clock, predictive text input, push – to – talk, inbuilt dictaphone and voice dial – something most of today’s generation phone have. In the phonebook it can store 1000 contacts and 30 received, dialed and missed calls. The Inbuilt memory is of 12MB with memory stick micro (M2).
Buy this mobile phone from an online shopping store to get the best deals and offers. In an online shopping store, you can expect a lower price than the market rate. So, rather than buying from direct market go for an online shopping store which gives you better advantage than the normal stores.
Go for this phone from leading online mobile stores like themobilestore.in and see the benefits associated with it. Get the best deal and offers while shopping from such stores. The only thing you got to do is to look into the mobile section of the site and then chose the name of the brand whose mobile you wish to purchase. Then click on the model you want to purchase and click for online payment. You can also pay for the product when it is delivered at your doorstep, after checking the condition of the product. So, happy online shopping!!

Apple announced that more than 500 native applications will be available on the iPhone’s App Store when Apple’s iPhone 3G goes on sale tomorrow. The Apple’s iPhone provides a breakthrough mobile platform for developers, who have created an incredible array of innovative applications such as stunning action games, advanced medical applications and robust productivity tools for the enterprise. These apps will be available on Apple’s revolutionary new App Store, enabling customers to wirelessly download them directly onto their iPhones and start using them immediately. More than 125 applications are being offered to iPhone customers for free.

New 3G Apple iPhone

The new iPhone 3G combines all the revolutionary features of iPhone with 3G networking that is twice as fast, built-in GPS for expanded location-based mobile services, and iPhone 2.0 software which includes support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and runs hundreds of third party applications available through the new App Store which is a built-in application on every iPhone running iPhone 2.0 software.
500 native iPhone applications

“iPhone represents a new software platform for developers, combining the most advanced mobile operating system, sophisticated developer tools and a breakthrough way for developers to wirelessly sell and distribute their applications right onto every iPhone,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “The reaction from developers has been very, very positive and we’re opening the App Store with over 500 native iPhone applications available for immediate purchase and download.” Many of these amazing new applications also take advantage of iPhone’s large display, Multi-Touch user interface, fast hardware-accelerated 3D graphics, built-in accelerometer and location-based technology to bring far more powerful applications to the mobile arena than ever before.

App Store

The App Store on iPhone works over cellular networks and Wi-Fi, which means it is accessible from just about anywhere, so users can purchase and download applications wirelessly and start using them instantly. Applications are free or charged to the user’s iTunes account and the App Store notifies the user when updates are available for their apps. The App Store is also available in iTunes running on a Mac or PC, which syncs applications to the iPhone or iPod touch using a USB cable. The App Store will offer over 500 native applications from hundreds of companies around the world in a variety of categories including games, business, news, sports, health, reference and travel.

Apple iPhone location-based services

“iPhone enables The Associated Press to deliver news in a way that simply wasn’t possible before,” said Benjamin Mosse, director of Mobile Products, The Associated Press. “Taking advantage of iPhone’s revolutionary location-based services, our Mobile News network can capture and store local news stories that can be read by users even when they’re offline and our award winning photography and AP video are displayed in stunning clarity on its high resolution screen.”

eBay Mobile

“iPhone is changing the entire mobile industry and has quickly become the number one mobile device for accessing eBay,” said Ken G. Sun, group product manager, eBay Mobile. “Users can shop, track bids and get great deals from the largest online marketplace in the world directly from their iPhone. We couldn’t deliver such a complete and easy-to-use eBay experience on any other mobile device and iPhone users can download it free from the new App Store.”

Facebook on iPhone

“iPhone is one of the most popular ways for people to enjoy Facebook on-the-go and we’re excited to deliver a great native application via the App Store,” said Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook. “Facebook is even cooler on the iPhone 3G, with the ability to discover friends nearby, or to effortlessly take pictures and upload them instantly to their Facebook account.”

Poto uploading from iPhone

“The global MySpace community will love MySpace Mobile on iPhone,” said Chris DeWolfe, CEO and Co-Founder of MySpace. “With rich features such as seamless photo uploading from iPhone to your MySpace profile, the MySpace Mobile application is gorgeous and as intuitive as possible – empowering the community with complete control over their global MySpace network right from the palm of their hand.”

Apple iPhone mobile games

“Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch open up the world of games to an entirely new audience,” said David Cobb, vice president of Product Development, Sega. “The touch and tilt controls are natural and easy to learn, making gaming even more inviting, creative and rewarding. Super Monkey Ball takes advantage of these defining aspects and offers consumers an extremely accessible, imaginative and fun game experience. Whether an iPhone owner is new to games, or has been a fan for years, they will be intrigued and engaged by Super Monkey Ball and this progressive way to interact with entertainment.”

iPhone software update

“With an 3G iPhone in your pocket, you’ll never roam alone,” said Jeffrey Glueck, CMO of Travelocity. “From finding the nearest hotel with just a few taps to checking your flight status in a snap, the magic of iPhone lets us put tools that no one has ever seen before in the hands of travelers.” In addition to the App Store, the iPhone 2.0 software update includes enterprise support, contact search, complete iWork and MS Office document viewing support, the ability to delete or move emails in bulk, saving images from emails, a scientific calculator, parental controls and support for 16 additional languages.

The App Store will offer over 500 native applications from hundreds of companies around the world in a variety of categories including games, business, news, sports, health, reference and travel.

“I Just Hacked iPhoneUnlocking.com” By: Agye

The reports out! I just hacked iPhoneUnlocking.com. In this summary of the report, I will give you fact’s pertaining to security exploits-intended for
informational purposes solely to Notify the Public of such companies whom
exploit the sale of Public iPhone Unlocking Freeware in exchange for Money.

Either I went to bed dumb last night and woke up a super samurai hacker or
IphoneUnlocking.com is charging for iPhone Unlock Freeware in which is offered on their site already without a username or password?? Well, I always wish I was a hacker, but let’s face it.. I’m barely even a good writer either.

Here Is The PROOF!!!!

(2G software) for Windows:

http://www.iphoneunlocking.com/3G_Mac_Unlock.php

BOO YAHHH!!!!

Yes, those four links above is direct links to the Members Area at IphoneUnlocking.com. Yah, no password or username required either which I though was weird since they are charging at least $20-30 per iPhone unlocking Membership on their homepage: IphoneUnlocking.com

With these types of security vulnerabilities; thus leaving the entire membership at IphoneUnlocking.com completely compromised. Leaving it publicly accessibly, web-crawlable, etc.. Who’s know’s.. maybe even writable??

How can you value your purchase with IphoneUnlocking.com when you find out it’s free in the first place? Plus is exposed to Apple’s Dev Crew, Competitors, Robots, Potential Customers, etc..

It’s time to consider who you trust with your iPhone Unlocking..
