Right, one of the first things about move back to 3rd edition Warhammer was the updated lists, with new creatures, armies etc etc. It soon became obvious we couldn’t just shoehorn creatures into existing lists using ‘counts as’ for most creatures.

We were looking at essentially, blending the lists from 3rd edition & current edition & almost re-writing from scratch.

For that, we’d need a baseline for costing individual creatures, as a basic building block towards army lists.

So, after a few attempts, I was sat pondering the quandary on the ‘throne of ideas’ (Well, ok… on the loo…. It’s amazing how much thinking you can get done there when your not too well….) it occurred to me that there was a basic points system in Rogue Trader (Thats Warhammer 40k 1st edition to all you youngsters out there).

So, there was the very basics of the points, as below:

Stat baseline:

The basic statline, as below starts at 5 points (This is a standard human statline)

To work out the cost of a creature, then look at how much each characteristic differs from the basic statline. For each unit of characteristic which is above the base, add the modifier in the table below. For each unit of characteristic which is below the baseline, subtract the modifier shown:

For example:

A Skink has a profile as given below, and has a points value modifier as below:

Total = 5+ 0.5 -0.5-1+0.25-0.5-0.25 = 3.5 points

This total is then rounded UP to the nearest whole number (4 in this case)

Minimum points cost for a creature is 1 point. There is no maximum points cost.

However, the above tends to undervalue larger/more powerful statlines. As such, an extra modifier is added to any creature with a points cost greater than 10. (This is done before the cost for any abilities are added)

Indie Pop band, Los Campesinos!, have posted their third album in their catalogue, Romance Is Boring.

In Medias Res  uses a refreshing section of brass to start the album while the next two tracks fall back on the familiar formula of an upbeat, catchy, guitar-driven melody and sing-a-long chorus (You’re pouting in your sleep,
I’m waking still yawning, we’re proving to each other that romance is boring) to produce obvious lead singles. Despite needing to convey its message through expletives, We’ve Got Your Back makes for an enjoyable listen as well as Straight At 101 and I Warned You: Do Not Make An Enemy Of Me. Plan A offers a hard-hitting 2 minute track which followed by 200-102 as an interesting experimental instrumental. Who Fell Asleep In is accompanied by a slight string arrangement during the slow, cynical love story. I Just Sighed takes a pleasant break from the standard vocals taking a female lead for the chorus, as does A Heat Rash which also makes good use of brass. The Sea Is A Good Place displays effective lyrical commentary to present a song with an emotionally charged atmosphere. This Is A Flag releases one last burst of energy before Coda ends the album with sorrowful words of regret (I can’t believe I chose the mountain every time you chose the sea).

On the whole, Romance Is Boring probably isn’t worth buying; It’s better just to leave this one to the fans and download the singles.

Beach house have opened concerts for Grizzly Bear in the past and have now decided to follow in their footsteps with their third dream pop release, Teen Dream.

The first track Zebra  begins the album in spectacular style with a soaring melody that takes you to somewhere sensational, “Anywhere I go, you run before us, black and white horse, arching among us”, along with Walk In The Park while Silver Soul lets you drift away. Norway incorporates an incredible chorus containing a single word that captures a lush atmosphere of feeling. Used To Be and Better Times reflects on a deep past relationship. 10 Mile Stereo gives the impression of a Grizzly Bear classic that was never released and Real Love delivers a classic that should be. Lover Of Mine is every emotion ever experienced that is collected and libertated in a single song of brilliance. The album closes with Take Care: a truly heartfelt and profound ending of dedication.

Teen Dream is something amazing that is quite easy to listen to and impossible to forget.

We say Obama is not a “natural born Citizen” of the USA and thus is not eligible to serve in the Oval Office. Obama is a Usurper and must be removed to preserve the integrity and fundamental law of our Constitution and our Republic.

“We the People” will be heard on this matter! As the People in Massachusetts have demonstrated, “We the People” are the Sovereigns in this country and the Constitution is the fundamental law of our nation, not Obama or Congress. We will not be silenced.  The chair Obama sits in in the Oval Office is not his throne. It is the People’s seat too.  And Obama despite all his obfuscations to date must prove to Constitutional standards that he is eligible to sit in that seat.

This is not going to go away until Obama stops hiding ALL his hidden and sealed early life documents and provides original copies of them to a controlling legal authority and reveals his true legal identity from the time he was born until the time he ran for President. Obama at birth was born British and a dual-citizen. He holds and has held multiple citizenship during his life-time. He’s a Citizenship chameleon as the moment and time in his life suited him and he is not a “natural born Citizen” with sole allegiance and Unity of Citizenship at Birth to the USA as is required per the Constitution per the intent of our founders and the meaning of the term “natural born Citizen” to Constitutional standards.

So here’s a long-ass update (hopefully; if it is not long-ass, that means I have a very uneventful life or it hopefully means that I am very good at summarizing things):

So, for Christmas, I got an iPod Touch. How fucking cool is that? Well, not for Christmas, but really just a few days thereafter (still during Christmas Vacation).

Here’s how it happened: my dad was just fucking like “I saw an iPod Touch at Best Buy.” And so I was, like, “Okay? Why you telling me this?” Though I basically already knew why: he was probably planning to buy it. So we planned a day where he and I could go look into and buy it. It was pretty exciting, since the iPod Touch did look quite awesome. It was like the iPhone without the phone. But then I could care less about the phone. Already have a cellphone and a house phone. No need for another, though it would’ve been nice and meant I would have to walk around with less things. But it’s not like that type of stuff weighed much, anyway. Unlike the first cellphones, born in a Flinstones cradle.

Nowadays, we have our cellphones under an anorexic diet.

So we went to Best Buy, whatever day that was, some time after Christmas, and we went to check the electronics section, looking for where the iPods were, and found our pick. It was a 3G iPod Touch 64 GB.

All other details are currently unavailable, due to the fact that my mom has plugged it into our stereo, listening to Dominican Radio through the Pocket Tunes App. I also got Hero of Sparta and a lot of other real fun and useful Apps. This iPod is da shit! So now I’ve been expanding my iPod library.

This little thing has also helped me organize my life more and take more personal initiative. I’m sure it isn’t the cause for my boost in confidence, but definitely a correlative. Lately I’ve been more able to easily speak to new people confidently, slowly overcoming my shyness and self-consciousness.

Oh, my cousin is moving to Los Angeles, California. Her prospect is to be a film star, so it makes sense. I wish I could live there..well, maybe. I mean, the area is probably very tropical in every way possible. Especially the temperature. Which is just fucking awesome. If my big cousin Jaz does make it successfully to the film industry, I will buy tickets for every movie to watch with my friends so I can boast in their face with a popcorn-filled mouth.

And the New Years party, and the Christmas part. Well, in the New Years Party, there was music, snacks, and okay food. Some people danced. For Christmas, people pretty much just talked and ate, and watched the Grinch. That’s what I vaguely remember. I mean, it’s hard to recreate the details, so I won’t even use my creative license for this one.

This post wasn’t very long, so it looks like my life is one boring piece of shit.
