Argh, I missed a blogpost...damn now I must slit my wrists up…again
Yesterday was crazy!

I went to the Saco exhibit yesterday, which is a great mass for students, to give ideas and information for what and where to study after garduation.
It was fun, because all the different stalls gave us candy and other merchandise, there were tons of HOT girls and I also met up with two friends I met in Goth, so that was nice too^^
But yeah, getting back to the hot girls…wow, there were so many I didnt know where to look, especially one girl in particular that I couldnt get my eyes off as soon as she was close; a dancer with one of the most perfect bodies I have ever seen…slim, slender, great breast and ass, lovely legs and a cute face….Gah!
I had the golden opportunity with my friend to talk to her because we were at the same stall and it was fairly empty, so it wouldnt have been to akward…but alas, I am a shy bastard

My friend Lucien and I, we were supposed to go to circus and train last evening, but because of me we were too late and couldnt get in…which was a great pity because it was the second last training for the season
But we decided we´d go out for a drink instead.
We went to many different places but ended up the longest, first at Liffeys( An irish pub in Old Town) and then Movitz just up the street.
Out of nowhere, my friend El Producente and his friends show up and we get together around a table.
It was very nice, we spoke for hours about film, Ninjas, life and martial arts while we drank some very nice Champagne and redwine^^
The evening wasnt so bad after all

Urgh, though December 3rd was a bad day for me…it gave me tons of anxiety and bad memories…in a way it was good for me to drink because then I could get my mind off all the stress and depression
But then again, this date will haunt me for a long time…because of a certain bitch Damn, you easily forget Hitlers birthday but why not this one….WHY???? The everlasting question WHY???
Why is it so hard, so painful and distressing to have such a small thing as a birthday make me feel like suicide?

Buddha says: Let go of the past, things have changed and will continue to change…it wont be the same ever again, things will get better if you change and let go of the past and look into the future instead, Tomio…
-Thank you , lord <3 I will.

I thought I did very well on this Data Response, but I got a 5 for IB grade. For the first question, I did fairly well, however, I missed out some of the points that IB wanted. For the second question, it was a disaster. I have mistaken PED graphs for YED graphs, this was the major reason why I did so poorly on this Data Response. Next time, I think I should practice diagrams more before the test.

Waterloo’s relentless forecheck kept the Hurricanes on their heals most of the night and this created many scoring chances for the Siskins in their 4-2 win over the Guelph Thursday night at The Sleeman Centre.

Guelph's Martin Kudla battles Waterloo's Kevin Henriques for the puck

Except for 10 minutes in the 2nd period, the Siskins were aggressive in taking the play to the Hurricanes.

If it wasn’t for the stellar goaltending by Chris McDougall who turned away 40 of 44 shots, the score of this game could have easily mirrored the score in their last outing when Waterloo beat Guelph 8-0.

In the opening period, Waterloo fired 24 shots at McDougall and jumped out to a 3-0 lead on goals by Scott Nagy, Ryan Dilks and Andrew Csumrik.

Tyson Theaker pulled the Hurricanes within 2 with a goal 17 seconds into the second period.

Waterloo’s Tony Blyde restored the Siskin’s 3 goal lead 2 and a half minutes later.

The score stayed 4-1 until Peter Soligo scored on shot from the point after Siskins goalie Will Sibley stopped Nic MacEachern and Mike McFarlane on a 2 on 0.

The Hurricanes pulled their goalie late in the game but couldn’t get another one past Sibley.

Final Score: Waterloo (now 18-5-0) 4, Guelph (now 8-16-2) 2

The Hurricanes take to the road for their next 2 games, Saturday in Cambridge and Sunday in Elmira.

Guelph’s next home game will be next Thursday December 3rd against the league leading Brantford Golden Eagles. Game time is 7:45 pm.

An inverted chord means that you’ve moved the root of a chord to some upper position, leaving a note other than the root as the lowest sounding note. It’s a really great device that will add colour to your musical palette. But chord inversions have to be treated with a bit of care; randomly opting for an inversion can lead to a chord progression that sounds a bit disorganized.

A triad is a three-note chord that includes a root, a third and a fifth. For example, in C major, a C triad is comprised of a C, E and G played simultaneously. With the root on the bottom, you get this triad in its most stable position.

By moving the root upward and away from its bottom position, you now have the 3rd of the chord as the lowest-sounding note (C/E). This triad, called a first inversion triad, is slightly less stable, in the sense that we usually don’t end musical phrases with this type of chord. Ends of phrases need the solidity that comes from having the root at the bottom.

One other possibility for triads is to place the 5th at the bottom, and this gives us an even-less stable triad (C/G). This chord begs for a resolution to G (i.e., C/G - G – C).

But to say that a triad is unstable is by no means a criticism. In fact, you will find that musical progressions sound fresh and interesting when they are comprised of a balance of root position and inverted chords. The question is… how do we know when to use them?

Here are some quick tips to guide you:

Use an inversion to animate a static bass line. If your progression requires your bass to do a lot of jumping by 4ths and 5ths, you can smooth this out and get the line moving by using an inversion. Here’s an example: C F C G C, with each chord played for 4 beats. Try modifying it with inversions (each chord played for 2 beats:) C C/E F F/A C C G G/B C

Use an inversion to make a boring progression more interesting. Related to point 1 above, if your progression has you dwelling on one chord for a long period of time, get the bass line involved by creating inversions.

If your melody line moves from the 3rd of a chord to an upper root of the chord, you can mirror that motion by moving the bass from the root of the chord up to the 3rd. It creates interesting interplay between melody and bass.

There are times when you need to be careful about using inversions:

If the melody and bass line are on the same note, don’t invert the next chord if it means both melody and bass move to the same note (i.e., avoid parallel octaves).

Be careful about leaping to inversions if there seems to be no good need or reason. For example, this might be hard to make work: C F/A Dm G/B… etc. These inversions will often result in the ear being confused.

Avoid inversions if it means that the bass note following the inversion is an augmented 4th or diminished 5th away. In other words, this will be a bit hard on the ear: C G/B F, because the bass moving from the note B to F will be somewhat unpleasant.

Inversions can be a great way to make an otherwise boring progression a bit more interesting, and can get some motion in your bass line, but as with most elements at your disposal, be careful how you use it.

The words from Dave Holland’s game in the book Drumagination remind us what drum circle is all about:

“Jump on in”–Give it a try! We make a safe space for everyone.

“Slide to the groove”–We play with rhythms.

“Don’t forget to breathe”–Playing music is relaxing and enjoyable.

“Make a connection”–We are part of a community.

We are now into the second rotation with John serving as teacher with the very capable assistance of Catrina. The Eunice and David duo is a tough act to follow, but we are doing our best to keep the bar high!

Attendance has been great and most of the students bring their Bibles each week. We are especially pleased that Rebecca has become a regular member of our class! Memorizing the books of the Bible is also going well – we should finish the Old Testament by about Christmas. We are learning a major theme of each book as well. All of this means that our “reward jar” is nearly full of popcorn kernels for the second time this year!

In the main lesson portion of our class, we recently studied God’s command to Noah and his sons to multiply and fill the earth, the rebellion and scattering of the people of Shinar, and God’s selection of Abraham to make one great nation and bless the world. A recurring theme is God’s trustworthy and everlasting covenant with His people. In the remaining weeks of the calendar year we will study:

God provides Abraham with a Right Offering (instead of Isaac)

God continues His covenant through Jacob – man’s sin cannot thwart God’s design

God preserved His people (Israel/Jacob’s 12 sons) in the land of Egypt

God prospers His people in Egypt during the time of Joseph

God chooses Moses to be His prophet and deliver His people out of Egypt

God’s name “I Am” points to his uniqueness

On a final note, our class has been asked to contribute cranberry sauce, canned gravy, and paper products to the community gift baskets this year. Notices were sent home with the students the past two weeks, but in case you didn’t disassemble the paper airplane and read it, please let this serve as a reminder. We really need these items to be brought to class THIS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22!

Thanksgiving Blessings to All of You!

With the 2nd quarter of the season in the rear view mirror, it is time to look ahead to the 3rd quarter of the season. Winning aside (while important, it is too overarching to evaluate at this level), what sort of goals should the team have in the next phase of the season?

Looking back to my 2nd Quarter Thoughts, some of the goals were achieved, some were not. The running game goals I feel were reached. The outside zone run to the right has become fairly reliable at getting a couple yards, and a second running threat was added, though not who I expected (I thought that Jackson returning from injury would be the man, nice to see Ahman Green though, I always liked him). Adapting the offense to the challenges that they’ve met, and the offensive line goals I feel were not met. The 3rd down defense goals, of weaning the defense off the turnover, I feel was met (we’re currently ranked 4th in the NFL at 34%, 3rd down % is just as good of an indicator of unit quality as scoring, and better than yards surrendered in my opinion). And finally, the rookie class took a big step forward in the 2nd quarter. Clay Matthews took over full time at OLB and has played great, BJ Raji’s playing time and impact has been rapidly increasing, TJ Lang has been a regular on the line and looks like he belongs, and is starting this week, and Quinn Johnson made some nice blocks when he’s been in the game. Brad Jones is about to show what he can do on defense. Jarius Wynn, out with an injury, was the only rookie who is still awaiting that next step.

Settle on An Offensive Line: I know that injuries have played a large role, but they’ve got to settle into a starting lineup to use the rest of the year. TJ Lang seems to be the all purpose fill in. If he is not going to be that any longer (if he gets the starting RT gig for good), somebody should be readied to be an all purpose backup. No shifting in case of injury. Continuity is often just as important as ability when it comes to offensive line play, our lineup is constantly in flux it seems.

Step Through the Door Aaron: I feel that Aaron Rodgers is currently standing in a doorway, the doorway to eliteness. He can see through it, and has done what people in that room are doing at times, but he has not joined that group. Many QB’s get to the point where Aaron is now and go no further. Only a select few QB’s have ever stepped through that door.

Every QB has weaknesses. There is always some natural hitch in their games that they possess. There is no perfect QB. It seems they all follow a similar path too. At first heavy coaching hides their biggest weakness. As they get more comfortable on the field and the rest of their game progresses, that weakness shows up again. The QB will fight that weakness the rest of their career. Some QB’s are able to mentally self coach that tendency of theirs out of them, to keep it at bay.

Brett Favre early on had very bad tunnel vision. His making something out of broken plays was a direct offshoot of that tunnel vision. He continued to fight that tunnel vision throughout his career, and found ways around it. To this day I still believe that Brett makes up his mind on who he is going to throw to prior to the snap, he just changes the guys up and can hide who it is until the toss.

Aaron has the exact opposite problem. He cannot make up his mind at times. He needs to find a workaround for this that works for him. If he can consistently find a way to force himself to make a decision, earlier than he is totally comfortable with, he will step through the door. His all around game is very complete, aside from this one item. QB’s can sit at this stage for a very long time, or forever. Rarely is this a quickly fixed problem. To see Aaron making progress on this particular item, with consistency, will be huge. Much more important I feel than the outcome of the remaining games. But if he does take that step, winning should come much more frequently and easier.

Get Out of the Slump McCarthy: Something is off with Mike. Any creative endeavor, play calling and coaching included, is subject to slumps. It goes with the territory. Offensively Mike is clearly in a slump right now. It is something that creative people always have to fight, they have to find a way out of their creative doldrums that happen from time to time. For Mike, I have no path, only a final goal.

It is hard to put a finger on why he may be in this slump. Part of me says he has partially mentally checked out of the full offense, partially because of the other squads (defense/special teams), and partially because of Aaron, who like I said is at a point where he can step into the group of elites, but isn’t there yet. McCarthy could be doing what he can to prod that step. If it means losing some games, so be it, as long as Aaron takes that step. I get the sense that McCarthy is both calling plays that prod Aaron to make quick decisions (though he hasn’t been), and is calling plays that and giving Aaron a lot of options to become somewhat of his own playcaller on the field. Aaron is struggling with both at the moment, but that isn’t a reason to back it off.

Hopefully though this quarter McCarthy gets back to what he did best. He could run our offense on smoke and mirrors with the best of them. Right now we need some of that magic.

Find a Pass Rush: The defense is doing a lot of things right, they have made a lot of progress since early in the season, but they simply cannot rush the passer. The right side of the line, Clay and Cullen, has largely been doing an acceptable job, but the left side, typically Kampman and Jolly, has been completely ineffective. Kampman is not the rusher he once was, even if we were in a different scheme, and Jolly isn’t much of a rusher. Sadly, the only place where a rush on the left side might come from, is from rookies. As BJ Raji gets more comfortable on the field, he should be able to bring pressure from the DE spot, if not Jarius Wynn did an excellent job during preseason. I would like to see his playing time increase. Brad Jones is going to get a start this week. Hopefully he shows what he did in preseason, that he has a very good speed rush. Dom could possibly add a 3rd and long situational play that sees Brad replace the LDE on the field, either over the G with Kampman over the T or vice versa. As of right now, we are going to continue to struggle with blitzing until a front 4 rusher shows himself to be worthy of a double team.

Stop the Penalties on Special Teams: Overall our team gets a high number of penalties, but neither the offense or defense compare to the special teams group when it comes to flags. It seems that almost every return is accompanied by a yellow hankie. Our special teams units have other problems, namely the lack of a punt returner, a poor punter, and coverage breakdowns, but right now none is more correctable than the flags. The special teams flags have got to stop. A lot of yards are being left on the field because of special teams flags.

Progress in all of these areas in the 3rd quarter will go a long way toward the ultimate sign of progress, the W-L record.

So what are chakras and where are they located?

Each chakra relates to a particular energetic function. The first chakra, at the tip of your spine, relates to survival and the energy of your physical life.

The word ‘chakra’ is derived from a Sanskrit word meaning ‘wheel’; but perhaps even a better translation would be spinning wheel. If you could see chakras (as many of us whom work with them do) you would be able to see each primary chakra as a spinning vortex or wheel of energy.

There are 7 main chakras in the body and the first one is at the tip of your spine. It’s about survival. The second one is located 2 finger widths below your belly button and is about sensuality, sexuality and relationships. The third chakra is located in the soft part of your solar plexus and is about control, resistance and manifestation. The 4th chakra is located where the sternum bones meet in your chest. This one is about love and self love, and love of others. 5th one is communication and creativity, and is located in the soft part of the neck. The sixth is the 3rd eye and located just above and between your physical eyes. It’s also the spirit part of you. The seventh is located 2 inches above your head and is the connection to the source, supreme being or whoever it is for you. It is also how you take yourself out into the world and how people view you.
