<– 3.10: Tricia Tanaka is Dead

Hell yes, welcome to the third season of Lost. We are proud you are with us and we wish you very much success in screaming WTF, when you see incredible scenes and the writers tell incredible stories. Yeah, when I saw this episode for the first time, I was happily screaming, because this episode managed to get my interest back in Lost. During the first half of this season, I let slide a few episodes and didn’t watch it until
weeks later, but when I saw this one, I catched up again and was up-to-date with the rest of the world. Thank you, Darlton for making it possible!

Long introduction, short bridge to the actual review: mind-blowing episode, which brings the mythology a few steps forward. Not only do Kate (Evangeline Lilly), Sayid (Naveen Andrews) and Locke (Terry O’Quinn), together with useless Danielle (Mira Furlan), discover a new Dharma station, they even discover the eye-patch we already saw in “The Cost of Living”. After Sayid gets shot by that guy, who seems to be Russian, all of them have a nice “Welcome” in the new discovered station, called the Flame. And from there on, Sayid and the Russian, who is called Mikhail (Andrew Divoff), have an incredible exchange – lots of information is raining on the viewers. And if we should believe Mikhail, the following happened: At some point in the past the hostiles decided to purge the island of its inhabitants, the folks from the Dharma Initiative. This event is called “The Purge” (the purge was probably in 1992 – which contradicts with Mikhail’s dates – he said he was sent to the island about 11 years ago. We have 2004, 11 years ago was 1993). The hostiles have been on the island for a very long time (we later learn they existed already in the 50s – I don’t know if I should believe that the successors of the Black Rock incident in the 19th century were the first ones to be considered as hostiles). The wire Sayid once discovered in season one (“Solitary”) runs from one station to another, and the Flame is the island’s hub (later we learn that the same wire Sayid discovered is connected to another Dharma station, the “Looking Glass” – so there are more wires running across the island). Basically, we learned a lot from Dharma’s past and some open mysteries are solved with this episode. For the side, Sayid mentioned the already forgotten radio tower again, and Danielle responds that she never visited this place before. So, the radio tower still has to be discovered. But respect for the writers that they brought it up again.

The information exchange Sayid had with Mikhail was awesome. And almost everything was the truth. The only lie was that Mikhail is not the last surviving member of the Dharma Initiative like he claimed to be, he is one of the hostiles. Which brings us to the next action scene and Sayid being an action hero again. Mikhail and Sayid exchange fists and feet, Kate gets knocked out, and then Sayid smashes Mikhail on a chair, which brings Kate enough time to knock him out. Locke didn’t have any time to fight the fight, because he was busy with a computer game. The scene, where he came out with his gun, after the fight was over, was hilarious – Locke was a great help in this little fight.
Which brings us to Locke for a short moment: The Flame has a computer room, which looks like the computer room in the Swan station – this computer even has a game on it, a nice little chess game. Locke plays against the computer and is losing first. But then he wins. What comes after his victory is pretty surprising – no “You win”, no “Congratulations”, instead the computer flashes and Marvin Candle (François Chau) appears on the screen (huh, what?). Damn you, Darlton, now you made a big mystery again. It looks like the chess game was just part of getting access to the communications of the Flame, and of course Locke is very interested in following Candle’s instructions. We learn the meaning of the episode title and everything should be fine.
Well, not really. Because Sayid thinks that Mikhail isn’t alone in the station he is looking for the other person, and soon Bea Klugh (April Grace) is revealing herself – interesting, she is still on the show (if you remember: She was the black woman, who handled Michael during his capture in “Three Minutes”, and we even saw her on the dock, when Jack, Kate and Sawyer got captured in “Live Together, Die Alone”, both episodes of the second season). But I find it more than ridiculous that the Others still disguise with their old clothes, when everybody already knows that the Others are in no way tent inhabitants, but it seems that Kate and Sawyer didn’t bring that information to the beach (another example of “the survivors don’t tell anything about themselves or what happened”).
To finish up the on-island with a few final words, before I get to Sayid’s flashbacks: “Has there been an incursion of the station by the hostiles? If so, enter 7-7.” Of course, Locke enters 7-7, believing that this would sent a signal to the outside world (though the communication is dead since the purple sky incident), but instead it blows up the station. What a shame, we just discovered a new station and it gets blown up. The Swan imploded, the Pearl is pretty much useless, and now this. At least Mikhail is still alive, after he killed Klugh (before the survivors ever get to as many secrets about the Others as possible), and Sayid has a map, which shows the way to the barracks – which looks like a perfect place to visit for Sayid, Kate, Locke, Danielle and prisoner Mikhail.

A few sentences about Sayid’s flashback: It is nice to see the broken soul of Sayid again, after he lost everything when he was a soldier in Iraq. But who cares what he did after? We already know that he didn’t find Nadia and that he was fighting with himself about what he did. The flashback was just a filler, and a breather for all the information we gathered during the on-island story. Interesting was just one little point: Did you noticed the stain at the ceiling of the married couple’s house? It very reminded me of the same stain Inman showed Desmond in “Live Together, Die Alone”, which was the blood of Radzinski killing himself – just for the side. And I think the cat is over-hyped. Sure, Sayid sees a similar cat two times in his life (and the appearance of the cat is similar to the off- and on-island appearance of Kate’s black horse), but I don’t think this is important for the mythology. Already forgotten.

I say it one more time: Welcome to the third season, now the story can begin. Awesome episode with useless flashbacks.

Sinopsis: Blair sospecha que su madre le ha estado ocultando un gran secreto, que resulta ser algo trascendental. Vanessa tiene planeado pasar Acción De Gracias con su familia, pero tiene una pelea con su madre, y aparece en el portal de la casa de Dan. Rufus descubre que Lily le ha estado mintiendo sobre su madre, Cece. Chuck le cuenta a Nate  que tiene información ampliamente perjudicial sobre uno de sus amigos. Jenny descubre que Eric estaba detrás del bochorno público que le hicieron pasar en el Cotillón, y no deja pasar la oportunidad de vengarse. Serena es sometida a una situación embarazosa cuando Trip y Maureen se unen a ellos en la cena de Acción de Gracias.

Chapter Eleven

Hey people, we’re back, well the movie-like double episode of Heroes had his last part last night and yeah it was cool, but I got this feeling that everything just went back to the way it was, but let’s talk about what happened. Few storylines, not overcrowded at all, it was cool, the quality was good also, it was like a movie, I was watching a movie, the two episodes are for collection:

• Nathan is caught by Haitian’s bro, so Peter and the Haitian go to rescue him, while caught Nathan meets two girls who are under Haitian’s brother power, so he is going to take the older one for raping her. But Peter and the Haitian saves the day, and set Nathan free, they all take advantage of Haitian’s bro lack of power to defeat him, but their soldiers are still ready to kill, so Peter tells Nathan to escape while he takes care of the soldiers, WITH JUST ONE GUN!, where did Peter got that kind of skills? nursing school? anyway, Nathan comes back with the Haitian to rescue Peter. But now Haitian’s bro is back since THE ECLIPSE IS OVER and he will do anything it takes to kill the Petrellis and his own brother, so Nathan attacks him, but this guy can’t be hurt, so the Haitian just erase all his memories, so it’s likely that when this guy wake up, he won’t be able to know what is his tongue for. Well the Haitian doesn’t go with the Petrellis, Nathan states that if people doesn’t have powers they won’t be able to defend theirselves so his father is right, Peter disagree and he’s left behind in Haiti, powerless, moneyless, and with just one gun. • Sylar and Elle have sex on the floor of Black Hole’s Guy, so HRG attempts to murder them, but Elle gets to save Sylar, but in the running HRG gets to shoot Elle in her leg, so she’s bleeding, HRG lost their track, the badass couple go to a store to heal Elle, so they learn that HRG is actually after them, so Sylar takes Elle to the store’s warehouse. Sylar locks Elle when he learns that without powers, HRG is really lethal for them, so Sylar faces HRG who easily defeat him and cut his throat. But when THE ECLIPSE ENDS, Sylar is back to life and they go after Claire.

• Claire is really in bad shape because her immune system is not working, since she has never been sick so the infections are eating her alive, Sandra must inform the police exactly what is going on, but after talking to HRG, she learns lying is the best, but Claire’s worst and she finally dies, the doctors open her chest to reanimate her, but they can’t and Claire dies. Sandra when allowed to see her daughter THE ECLIPSE ENDS and Claire gets back to life and all her injuries are healed, Sandra takes Claire out of the hospital and when they’re in home, Claire tells his dad he should be with her instead of doing anything else, when Noah learns Claire survived he knows Sylar did too, but too late for them, the badass couple is in home. Noah tells Sylar that he’s not the son of Angela and Arthur and that they’re just manipulating him taking advantage of his mommy issues, he tells Elle that Sylar can’t be changed because he is evil and herself was there when he was created. Sylar decides to kill noah, cutting his neck.

• Well Mohinder is trying to figure out what the hell happened with the abilities, but when he tries to inject Flint he refuses, so Mohinder hits him with a Microscope and knocks him badly, he goes to see Maya, but when THE ECLIPSE ENDS, her horrible scars on the skin are back and he doesn’t want Maya to see him that way. He comes back to Arthur apologizing and Arthur forgives him saying that the eclipse changed them all. TO BE CONTINUED.

• Matt and Daphne talk about her leg problem, Daphne decides she doesn’t wanna see him, so he goes to the store where Hiro and Ando are with Sam and Frack, Sam refuses to believe Hiro and Ando are the same of the comic, he thinks Frak paid them. Hiro buys every comic of the 9th wonder and Hiro learns that when he grow up he has to do dirty things to save the world, so he locks himself in the bathroom, eventually Sam convinces Hiro that saving the world is the right thing to do. Frak realizes that when THE ECLIPSE ENDS all the abilities will be returned, so Parkman goes to see Daphne before she runs away, lucky for him, she’s not gone yet and he tells him she needs to be in peace with herself and do the right thing, so she goes with her father and they hug. In the store Hiro goes out and Frak tells him, the next step is looking for Claire and goes back to the past, because that might be important. Hiro teleports to see Claire leaving Ando behind. Parkman and Daphne comes back to the store just to hear the news, Hiro’s gone.TO BE CONTINUED

• Hiro teleports to Bennet’s house and he avoids Sylar to kill Noah, and he sends him and Elle to a beach far away, and he takes Claire with him too. Now Sandra and Noah doesn’t know what to think now, after being in the imminent danger with other three (or four) people in the living room, now it’s just the both of them. Hiro takes Claire to 16 years ago, when Kaito deliver her to HRG as a mission, all what Claire can say is “Holy SH…” TO BE CONTINUED

• The badass couple are in the beach alone and Sylar tells Elle he hasn’t changed and he slices her forehead, we don’t know if she’s dead or not.

Wow, that’s all I can say about Heroes 3×10 “the eclipse (1/2)”, it was like watching a movie, a Heroes movie, everything was working for Heroes even Hiro and Mohinder who usually in this season were kinda so out of place. The coolest part is watching how the evolved humans deal with their new powerless state. The episode has four storylines, 3 “big” and one “supportive” storyline.

1. Peter convices Nathan to take him to find the Haitian who is the only one to stop Arthur for good, but in their travel the eclipse takes Nathan’s power away and they are on their own in the middle of the jungle, there they deal with unfinished business of brother, Nathan says he always has to clean Peter’s mess, while Peter says that at least he’s not a puppet of their parents like Nathan is. Well in the middle of the fraternal discussion, the Haitian shows up and he tells them, his brother is hunting him with lots of guerrilla people. Despite they run, Haitian’s brother gets Nathan, while Peter and the Haitian get escape. TO BE CONTINUED…

2. Parkman and Daphne are told by Angela they need to find Hiro, but lucky for them it’s Hiro who finds them, Ando tell Parkman he needs to fix Hiro’s memory deleted by Arthur, Daphne is afraid about what Arthur can do to her and she runs. Matt asks Hiro to take him where Daphne is, but he’s not sure where really she is, but Ando finds the comic has that information, Daphne is in Kansas, Hiro teleports to kansas with Ando and Parkman, then the eclipse takes place and when Parkman attempts to use his ability to convince Daphne’s father to let him in, but he can’t and Daphne refuses to see Matt. Matt asks Hiro to help him, but Hiro can’t use his powers either, so Hiro tells Parkaman that this is their real test, succeed without powers. Matt go to find Daphne, and he tells her that he’s in love with her, Daphne let him in just to watch her, without her abilities Daphne has a serious legs problem that doesn’t allow her to walk without a really ugly device, Matt look at her. While Hiro and Ando go to Sam’s Comic Store in Kansas, and the two owners find that they are in the comic. TO BE CONTINUED….

3. Arthur and Mohinder are really concerned about Claire, so Arthur send Sylar to find her, Elle joins him. Angela protects Claire by sending her with HRG back to Los Angeles, ow Angela knows Tracy is working with Arthur. HRG teaches Claire into the basics of fighting, then the eclipse takes place and Elle and Sylar rush into the place (the black hole guy’s) and they find they have no powers, HRG easily defeat Sylar but when Claire tries to attack Elle she’s shooted, HRG takes Claire away from the villains. HRG takes Claire to the house but she tells Sandra not to call the police, HRG leaves to finish his business with Sylar and Elle. While Claire is bleeding and Sandra is scared. TO BE CONTINUED…

4. Mohinder gets into a metamorpohosis (really disgusting) and he’s back to normal again, he finds Maya’s location and he goes after her, but Jesse and Arthur doesn’t allow him, not until he finds a way to reverse the eclipse’s effect. TO BE CONTINUED…

Ok, as I’ve become a huge fan of South of Nowhere (SoN) and mostly a HUGE fan of Spencer and Ashley aka Spashley, I’ve now joined the site Save Spashley. As some of you might know, The N will air the last episode of season 3 in September (unless that changes again) and then the show is over/cancelled…. Basically, there is 8 episodes left…

So, if like me you are a BIG fan… Please join and do something! You never know, Tom Lynch, the creator, seems hopeful and I beleive we can help him!

France airing season 3B:
Furthermore, season 3A ended with episode 308. The second part of season 3 (3b) has been airing in France whereas the american fans are still waiting to see those episodes (hopefully in September). Episode 309 to 316 part 1 have been aired in France. Part 2 of episode 316 is the last of the show, but strangely the channel which airs the show in France hasn’t aired the last, final show. there is a lot of speculation on the french fan discussion boards about this. People are wondering why the final episode is not being aired. Most are speculating that the season finale was filmed before the cancellation of the show and therefore, they decided to make a new ending that would wrap the show better and satisfy Spashley fans. Some are even expecting a total new episode 316 (part 1 and 2)… To be honest, I hope that is true!!! We’ll see. If you have any info on this, please let me know!
