Another shot, taken last Saturday at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre at the premier of Rights (?) by LCP Dance Theatre.

That I couldn’t use flash during the performance is normal, but it’s not normal that I regret it. The ‘ropes’ of light are an important part of the dance, so couldn’t be left out, but compensating properly for their brightness would have left the dancer in so much shadow she’d have been invisible. I’m relatively happy with this shot but now realise that; had I the time to play with photoshop, the best picture would have been derived from a combination of two shots, as by ignoring one element I could have shot the other as well as the camera would allow.
