Historias de cama  en  ficción, de amores casuales y tórridas pasiones. En el ciclo “HABITACIONES | SEXO | CINE” el factor común es el sexo. Pero además, la temática de las tres películas que presentamos gira alrededor de espacios arquitectónicos cerrados con cierto grado de carga erótica y sexual, y que pueden ser escenarios para el sexo, el amor y las relaciones interpersonales: habitaciones de hostal, cuartos de hotel. En esos espacios podemos encontrar a parejas tumultuosas y cargadas de sexualidad como la de Kieran O’Brien y Margo Stilley en “9 songs”; película que desató una gran controversia por sus explícitas y no-simuladas escenas de sexo.  Otro estilo de encuentro lo brindan Gonzalo Valenzuela y Blanca Lewin en “En la cama”, amantes reunidos por una sola noche que parecen estar ligados solo a través del sexo, pero que descubren mucho más al pasar de las horas. Por último una pareja más sosegada y madura es la que conforman Sergi López y Nathalie Baye en “Una relación privada”, pero comparten con las otras su deseo de crear en un cuarto de hotel una fantasía erótica compartida solo entre ellos.

Los asistentes podrán asistir además a una mesa de conversación donde participarán Claudio Cordero (crítico de cine) y Víctor Mejía (arquitecto), acompañados por la cineasta Marianela Vega, la poeta Tilsa Otta y la comunicadora y conocida blogger Alicia Bisso. Las proyecciones serán en el auditorio del Centro Cultural de España los días domingo 26, lunes 27 y martes 29 de julio.

Entre la música y los grupos vemos a Matt y a Lisa haciendo el amor y cómo a través de esos encuentros sexuales se va desarrollando su relación.

Historia contada por separado por un hombre y una mujer a un tercero: un periodista, un encuestador, un testigo, alguien… una voz en off. Cada cual se acuerda con pudor y emoción del otro. Explican su visión, muy diferente, de su primer encuentro.

In Michael Winterbottoms 2004 “9 Songs,” two lovers meet by chance at a concert in London: A glaciologist, Matt, and a drifter girl from America, Lisa. Their story is an explicit one, told in between live concert footage (hence the title). We get an up-close-personal look not only at the sex life of Matt and Lisa but also some fascinating underground rock bands. There’s a lot of sex, but it doesn’t seem pornographic or contrived, Hollywood-style, either. Art-film slick on a meager budget with unknown actors, this film received standing O’s at the Sundance and Toronto film festivals and was received by most critics with mixed, negative-leaning reviews.

Margo Stilley (Lisa) was the most fantastic breath of fresh air. She’s crazy and playful but also waiflike and enigmatic. If you get a chance, be sure to watch her cast interview because she’s whip-smart and cute in it, simultaneously. The whole movie plays like a memory, like nostalgia. There’s not really a plot, more just scenes, with this film isn’t really a story, it’s just a feeling you’re supposed to get and things Winterbottom is trying to get the audience to feel, something by which they can emote. Everything used in the film is painstaking and purposeful; even Matt’s narrated references to Antarctica and the “anatomy” of a glacier; how its layers tell a story–it all speaks metaphorically. It’s an interesting glimpse into where sex can really take us with another person, or perhaps where another person can take us with sex…either way, it’s cinematic food for thought. (And I really dig the music.)

Hola, pues nada que estaba navegando por estos universos de WordPress y decidí que quería registrarme y escribir para éste sistema, no tengo nada que decir ni soy el blogger que el mundo espera para nada pero acostumbro escribir, de vez en cuando cuando el tiempo me lo permite sobre lo que hago en la semana, lo que veo, lo que escucho, lo que veo, y lo que día con día va poniendole sal y pimienta a mis cotidianos días.

devido a esto es que mi primer entrega para WordPress es un post de lo que hice durante la semana (al menos lo que me alegraba los días) después de mucha indesición y pereza pues fuí a blockbuster a sacar mi membresía y gracias a la mejor desición de la semana y provablemente del mes conseguí dos varias peliculas tres de las cuáles no había visto y de las que ahora soy muy fan y una que ya había visto pero que igual simpre la disfruto mucho aquí los titulos:

หนังสุดสยิวของ MICHEAL WINTERBOTTOM ผู้กำกับชาวอังกฤษที่ต้องจับตามองมากที่สุดคนหนึ่ง (ในฐานะที่เปลี่ยนแนวทุกเรื่องที่ทำ) ออกแผ่นแบบลิขสิทธิ์

แน่นอน เป้นที่เลื่องลือทั้งในหมู่คนดูหนัง และคนดูหนังอย่างว่า ว่านี่คือหนังที่มีความยาวหกสิบเก้านาที และตลอดทั้งเรื่องจะมีเพียงภาพของ คอนเสริ์ตเล่นเต็มเพลง เก้าวงเก้าเพลง และการร่วมรักแบบถึงพริกถึงขิง เก้าครั้ง!!!!

 ตัวหนังนั้นวัดกันเฉพาะภาพก็อาจเหมาะกับคำว่า โจ๋งครึ่ม แต่กับอารมณืที่ได้กับร้าวรานอย่างยิ่ง ยิ่งหนังเปิดเผยเนื้อหนังมังสาของคู่รักคู่นี้มากเท่าไหร่ เราก็ยิ่งรู้สึกอยากร้องให้มากเท่านั้น

WINTERBOTTOM ต้องการก้าวข้ามเส้นแบ่งบางๆของหนังโป๊ กับหนังศิลปะเขาทำมันสำเร็จ ไม่เฉพาะ WINTERBOTTOM แต่รวมถะงค่ายหนังที่สั่งหนังเรื่องนี้เข้ามาด้วย

ทำไมน่ะหรือก็หนังเรื่องนี้มีให้ดูเต็มๆทั้ง96 นาทีโดยไม่มีคัท!!!

แต่อย่าเพิ่งด๊ใจ เพราะเป็นที่รู้กันว่าเป็นไปไม่ได้ ที่หมอกแห่งศีลธรรมจะไม่ตกปกคลุมหนังเรื่องนี้ เพียงแต่เรื่องตื่นเต้นอยู่ที่ว่าหมอกศีลธรรมในหนังเรื่องนี้มาในรูปแบบ ตินติน !!!! จนแทบจะลบเส้นแบ่งระหว่างหนังปกติกับหนังAV ด้วยเสตทเมนท์แรงๆไม่แพ้WINTERBOTTOmแต่อย่างใด

ตัวหนังนั้นดีจนอยากให้ดู (ในกรณีที่โตแล้ว) แต่ฉบับหมอกศีลธรรมอาจทำให้เสียอารมณ์ไม่น้อย (และทำให้รู้สึกโป๊มากขึ้น) เหนืออื่นใด เราชอบชื่อไทยของหนังอย่างยิ่ง!

I went into Spinal Tap with high expectations – it’s appeared on plenty of  “best ever” and “top 100″ lists. The DVD cover has a quote from the BBC, bizarrely, stating that it’s the “funniest film ever made.” Sorry, whoever from the BBC wrote that, but it isn’t.

I was very disappointed with the film. The film has been built up too much in the lists to have any sort of clout. Comedy is a unique genre – what is funny to one person may not be to another. If a film is said to be controversial (e.g. 9 Songs), then most people will find it controversial. Comedy isn’t the same. I like the League of Gentleman. I think The Mighty Boosh is shit. Both are described as alternative comedy, but the range not just in comedy but in alternative comedy is massive.

So, apart from the two clips that are rolled out on all the clip shows (Turn in up to 11 and lick my love pump), there isn’t much that sticks in the memory, very forgettable, just another film. I think Pick of Destiny is a funnier film in the stupid-rock variety, which has many more memorable scenes and doesn’t have that much hype dragging it down. Spinal Tap collapses under its own critical mass, it can’t live up to all the lists it heads.

So, it’s good for a few laughs, but there are many, many other comedies where the gags are better and more frequent. My next review, Teeth, is a much funnier, and much better film.

Pitchfork gave the new Black Rebel Motorcycle Club album a hilarious 0.4!!! I haven’t listened to it yet, but generally I file BRMC under my guilty pleasures. I remember watching the explicit Michael Winterbottom movie “9 Songs”, and at some point there came the blast of BRMC’s “Whatever Happened to My Rock ‘n’ Roll”, and I was hooked. Simple rock songs, with simple lyrics and hooks, sometimes that’s all you and I need.

On “9 Songs”: No, it wasn’t a soft porn movie. Yes, it was sexually explicit, but there was a plot, and it was beautifully shot. Yes, it was a celebration of the small-breasted girl.

I need to play my guitar and write a song with my favourite chord Fmaj7.

I need to hang out with articulate people and hope that osmosis will work.

I miss warm weather and warm seas.

I was surprised that this erotic drama was directed by Michael Winterbottom, who also directed the haunting science fiction film called “Code 46.” But it’s a shame that this turned out to be a pretty mediocre picture because Kieran O’Brien and Margo Stilley had good chemistry together. Yes, a lot of skin and sex scenes were shown. They were necessary to the story and I know that people who are not open to sex and nudity will automatically dismiss this picture and label it as pornographic. I guess the dynamics between the two main characters can be seen in two ways: two people who genuinely care about one another or two people who cling to one another because they feel alone no matter where they are or who they’re around with. I chose to see it as the latter. The film didn’t even bother to introduce the characters in a meaningful way so there’s automatic disconnect there. The movie also features the vast field of ice of Antarctica where it’s cold, lonely, and isolated–just like the characters. As for the random concerts, I thought they were sort of unnecessary but it was still a pleasure to see Franz Ferdinand perform on stage. I was also convinced that I should hear more about Michael Nyman’s music. Instead of the choppy concert scenes, I thought “9 Songs” could have featured more dialogue between the characters so that the audience will understand their motivations a bit better. It’s funny because I was more involved with the picture when the two leads were talking, teasing, and fighting with each other instead of when they were making love. It’s a daring picture and I commmend the actors for choosing to participate in this project. It could’ve been something really great and romantic with a few more alterations in the script.

Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist

Even though Michael Cera plays the same type of character (“Superbad,” “Juno”) in pretty much every movie, I love him for it because he’s the master of awkward teen comedy. He has great comedic timing and he always gets his audience to care for his character in under twenty minutes. This film is about the adventures of Cera and Kat Dennings in one night–from finding the drunken Ari Graynor, dealing with the ex-girlfriend Alexis Dziena, having good fun with the gays (Aaron Yoo, Rafi Gavron, Jonathan B. Wright), to attending a “Where’s Fluffy” concert. If one looks at the overall picture, it may not amount to much because it’s directed more toward high school and college students, but it’s undeniably cute and has its genuinely funny moments (that Ellen Degeneres bit was hilarious!). We also get cameos from John Cho, Eddie Kaye Thomas, and Kevin Corrigan. There’s also a plethora of music references that range from The Cure to Shout Out Louds. Overall, the picture is very hip and energetic but could have used a bit more meaning. Honestly, I was also glad to see Asians in this film because I think we are underrepresented. Also, the idea of Cera having band members (and best friends!) who are gay but not flaming was a fantastic idea. I enjoyed Yoo and Gavron because I saw a bit of myself in them. (I would’ve liked to see at least one kiss between Gavron and Wright because they look so cute together!) This picture gave me a feeling of “American Graffiti,” (a weaker) “Before Sunrise,” and “Before Sunset.” Other than the movie not adding up to much, I have no problem with it at all. Not all movies have to be meaningful to be beautiful and appreciated.

Lakeview Terrace

I expected to be greatly entertained coming into this film because I’ve been a fan of Neil LaBute since I watched the masterfully manipulative “The Shape of Things” (I thought it was a bit better than “In the Company of Men” but both are just as mean). I was surprised that this movie didn’t have LaBute’s signature direction and style of storytelling. In fact, I thought it was another typical quasi-thriller from a first time director with a very blatant symbolism that hammers the audiences again and again. Samuel L. Jackson, Patrick Wilson, and Kerry Washingtom did a good job playing their respective roles and I don’t blame them for the weak script and mediocre direction. For a movie that runs for about two hours long, the thrills are barely there. Knowing LaBute’s repertoire, he offers a number of powerful moral conundrums that last in the audiences’ minds after the credits start rolling. Here, the experience was lackadaisical at best and I forgot about the film right when I got in the car. With a better material, LaBute can definitely make a more poweful picture about race, abuse of power, and family dynamics. “Lakeview Terrace” is mostly a miss but saved by above average acting; the potential is there but the plot distractions derailed this picture.
