film yang digambarkan dengan sangat apik ini lumayan menarik minat saya untuk menontonnya, mengapa tidak? animasi plus kehancuran dunia, tema yang sangat jarang, secara film terakhir yang saya tonton dengan tema tersebut adalah 2 film kompilasi the animatrix, yang menceritakan prolog dari film the matrix series. dengan graphis yang lumayan memikat mata, film 9 ini berhasil menyuguhkan keadaan bumi ketika sudah tidak tersisa lagi manusia disertai lingkungan antah berantahnya. so akhir kata, film ini lumayan untuk mengisi waktu luang, enjoy!

Har du inte möjlighet att se Tim Burton-producerade 9 på Stockholms filmfestival? Kolla på hans fullkomligt förtjusande gamla kortis Vincent om och om och om igen som tröst.

1,5 poäng från VG på tentan. Hade det varit lite mer hade det känts mer rättvist men just nu blir jag lite sur, men bara lite. Ska kolla igenom tentan och se till så att de inte har missat något. Men men, innerst inne tror jag att jag är ganska glad att jag klarade den!

I övrigt så har jag myst med film idag. Såg ju först Public Enemies, vilken kanonrulle! Sedan kollade jag på den animerade filmen 9. Rätt läskig för att vara animerad och det var många delar som påminde om andra actionfilmer som inte är animerade. Men en annorlunda film som jag tyckte var helt okej.

Ikväll har jag suttit med en rapport som jag och mina gruppkamrater ska opponera på. Ska alltså kolla igenom den och se vad som är bra och dåligt med den. Ganska svårt när jag inte har någon aning om vad som är bra och dåligt. Jämför väl som bara med det vi har gjort, för tydligen så tycker vi ju inte att det blir bättre än så nu när vi läst igenom den typ tusen gånger.

Imorgon blir det en träff med gruppen för att snacka om opponeringen, köpa biljetter till sittningen Christmas Gone Bad och sen blir det en fika på stan med Jennifer. Kanske lite filmmys i sängen sen, och än så länge är bara jag inbjuden. Då var det ju lite dåligt att jag åt upp min sista popcornpåse till middag idag. Dietisten i mig vet att det är så fel, men när man inte känner för att laga nån redig middag så får man äta popcorn säger den mänskliga delen av mig. Att jag dessutom hällde i mig en STOR kopp kaffe till det är ju också lite komiskt.

Har pratat med min far och mor ikväll också. Pappa hade visst haft besök av typ arbetsmiljöinspektionen eller vad det heter. Som vanligt så får de lite skäll. Han ska komma hit och julhandla med mig och det blir ju superkul! Mamma var jag bara tvungen att ringa till och kolla så att hon var okej efter allt som hänt. Men det känns tryggt att veta att hon har min syster och fina vänner där hemma som tar hand om henne nu när hon kanske behöver det lite extra.

Nu ska jag äta en apelsin och kolla teve. Hå hå! Hej!

Durante la semana pasada estuve participando de un evento notable: el Foro del Cambio. En esa ocasión tuve el placer de interactuar con un connotado personaje del ciberespacio español: Joan Jimenez. Casualmente el fin de semana anterior al evento, Joan había sido catalogado por el diario El Mundo, como uno de los personajes con más “amigos” y followers de España. Según parece, él tiene más de 4300 amigos en facebook y soy testigo de que posee casi 3000 followers en twitter (yo uno de ellos).

En una red gasificada, todos estaríamos conectados con todos, se perdería estructura y todo potencial organizativo se diluiría en un mar de ruido blanco. Me da la sensación de que esto está sucediendo hoy con Facebook. Personalmente creo que si no filtramos adecuadamente, la reina red de facebook, se transformará en un basurero informacional totalmente inorgánico. Imaginense el día en que en facebook todos seamos amigos de todos: la red social se gasificaría y su potencial comunicacional se diluiría en una totalidad/nada. Si de algo se nutre la red, entendida como sistema complejo, es de la influencia que algunos (tal vez demasiado pocos para mi gusto) generan al dar lugar al zeitgeist informacional del que todos, a diario, solemos alimentarnos.

För snart ett år sedan såg han till att sega sig och göra entré bara en vecka innan Mammut-premiären, när min favvoskådis Gael Garcia Bernal var i Sverige. Funderade på att åka raka vägen från bb till presskonferensen, men insåg att det inte vore helt friskt. Eller?

Nu för tiden när hela filmjournalist-Sverige förökar sig i rasande takt kanske det kan vara på sin plats att anordna lekrum i anslutning till filmpresskonferenser? I början av hösten hade till exempel en av kvällstidningarnas filmprofiler med sig sina två, PSP-spelande, knoddar till filmhuset när höstens svenska filmer skulle presenteras. Var kommer det sluta?

Feast of Fools Variety Pack from Magic Hat

The Feast of Fools variety 12-pack comes with three bottles each of four different ales, the #9, Lucky Kat, Winter Odd Notion 09, and the Howl (click each beer for my full review).

The variety of beers in this sampler pack is impressive. The Howl and the #9 are about as far apart on the flavor spectrum as you can get. The Howl is a black-as-night winter seasonal with pungent coffee, chocolate, and smoke flavors. The #9, on the other hand, has an incredibly strong apricot flavor.

At $14 for the 12-pack, I think the Feast of Fools is a good deal for anyone who is a fan of Magic Hat. If you aren’t a fan of the #9 or Lucky Kat, I would recommend picking up a 6-pack of Howl this holiday season. In my opinion, it is by far the best of the bunch.

Magic Hat's #9

The Magic Hat #9, according to the brewer, is not quite a pale ale. I will agree with them. From the psychedelic swirling orange label, to the super strong apricot flavor, this is not your typical pale ale.

The first time I had a #9 I thought it was the greatest beer ever. I was in college, and to be honest, it was probably the best beer I had up to that point. I was like most college students, I preferred quantity over quality. You can’t really play (or afford to play) beer pong with an artisan beer like a St. Bernardus Abt 12.

The #9 is a light, translucent amber color that pours with a thick, fluffy white head. After the head dissipates, it leaves behind pretty nice lacing.

The #9 smells so sweet and fruity that it reminds me of apricot flavored gummy bears. Like the smell, the #9 tastes extremely sweet with flavors of apricot and peach. These flavors, especially the strength of them, will not be for everyone. If you do enjoy these characteristics, you may find this beer very enjoyable.

The #9 is different, and sometimes different is good. My flavor preferences have definitely changed since the first time I tried this interesting ale. I would no longer claim that it is the greatest beer of all time. The thing that I like about Magic Hat is that they try to be different. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

If you enjoy strong fruit (and more specifically, apricot) flavors and aromas in your alcoholic beverages, you need to try this not so pale ale.

9: But what if he’s wrong!

I was watching the animated movie “9″, which I quite enjoyed,  and those lines inspired me to write about a topic that has always interested me and at times even disturbed me. “Leadership”.

Let’s not get into the statement “A group must have a leader” because in my opinion that’s debatable, and I’m sure that any one of you out there who has the urge to constantly follow a (/any) leader, must have a million justifying reason but the fact remains that it’s a matter of personal preferences. However, I do agree that in certain situations, one person must lead in order to avoid chaos. My debate is on WHO would make a leader!

I live in the Middle East, occasionally in Lebanon (my home country), where the concept of leadership is often flubbed (☚ word of the day – flubbed: messed up, screwed up, destroyed, ruined, etc.). If you watch regional/international news (which I avoid with great passion), you must have heard of Lebanon and its many political dilemmas due to the many leaders and parties, each trying to take over and prove their alleged rightfulness. Now don’t take that as a statement that “we suck and you rock!”. I know every country has its problems, but I’m in no position to judge something I haven’t experienced firsthand (PREJUDICE IS BAD!).

Now let’s head to the source of the problem as to what makes a leader worthy of being a leader (before you think to yourself “oh this is going to be one of those boring theses”, it’s not! It’s going to be fun and you’ll get a treat at the end.).

According to the very general definitions you would find for “Leader” or “Leadership”, a leader is a person or thing (e.g.: an organization) that rules, guides, and inspires others. Well I don’t know about you, but to me that sounds pretty vague and subjective.

Let’s try to search for “Leadership attributes” for more accurate results:

Google search engine results: about 863,000 for leadership attributes. (0.36 seconds)

Good luck reading them all to know what would make a leader! Or you can just keep on reading and get an idea based on my perspective.

One result that I found a bit reliable is this right here:

The 11 critical attributes of leadership are listed below:

1. Unwavering Courage (in some cases, courage is inapplicable.)
2. Self-Control (you’d have to know the leader personally to be able to judge on this one)
3. A keen sense of justice (based on what law?!)
4. Definiteness of decision (what about the quality or rightness of the decision?!)
5. Definiteness of plans (What about commitment to execution?!)
6. The habit of doing more than paid for (Is there an extent to what he/she is being paid to do?!)
7. A pleasing personality (Even if it’s just an act?!)
8. Sympathy and understanding (Again, a close knowledge is necessary as so not to fall for stories)
9. Mastery of detail (one side-note: in Lebanon, we have ministers heading ministries totally irrelevant to their experience and background. Not much mastery of detail there! Like a car mechanic fixing a spaceship.)   
10. Willingness to assume full responsibility (So he/she is willing, but will he/she commit when $#!+ happens!?)
11. Cooperation (Is it really cooperation or an exclusive club of plotters?!)

Answer this in full honesty: Do you look into all of those attributes before committing yourself to a leader? (Yes? What? I can’t hear you!). It is surely hard to investigate and have certain proof of all those attributes, but don’t just simply follow a leader who looks impressive because he/she has many other followers. Don’t just blindly trust a leader and follow his actions with complete obedience without having an objective sense of reasoning. Leaders are human and thus bound to make mistakes at times even if they were supermen/superwomen (BTW Superman is dead, if you haven’t read so yet.)

Where am I going with this?

Be your own leader first. learn to have the above attributes and be the best you can be as a person. No one is better than you as a human (unless you are an evil villain), but some can outshine you with their actions. Thus, learn from their actions, imitate, modify and originate, but never just follow to be in the herd!

If you find yourself with an urge for a role model, investigate, question, and always reason. Don’t just trust what other followers are saying even if they were your best friends, or wife/husband, which brings me to my next point.

Have some guts and stand up for what is right. Don’t just stand up to what your leader thinks is right and don’t defend him/her when you know he/she is wrong. Just follow the leader’s singular actions, one at a time, rather than the leader himself/herself.

Conveniently and coincidently, I just came across this quote -watching the movie Zeitgeist, that was referred to me by a friend- that directly fits my point:

Now, this isn’t a conclusion, because I still want to hear from you as to who you consider as a leader/row model (in any industry, profession, age, dead or alive, etc.), and why or how he/she inspires you.

And don’t ask me whom I consider as a leader. That position is going to be vacant until I am proven wrong or I have better alternatives, because no matter what the case is, NEVER appoint a leader by default!

P.S.: As for the treat, I consider knowledge to be the biggest treat. If you don’t agree then you shouldn’t have been here on the first place =), but you’re still welcomed.

Tim Burton megint megmutatta, hogy méltán híres, újabb animációs filmet készített: „9” címmel.
Már többször leakartam tölteni, de sose találtam hozzá magyar feliratot (ezért nem is töltöttem le), de pár napja ráakadtam egy jó feliratra és letöltöttem. Addig nem tudtam mit hagytam ki. Egy újabb poszt-apokaliptikus világ, kissé másként…

9 az első (babzsák) akit megismerünk (értelem szerűen ő a főhős), az egész történet mozgatórugója.

9 miatt változik meg minden amit a többiek már megszoktak (név szerint: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 – ).

Fantasztikus az animáció,a hangok is tökéletesek + szinkron is jó → mesterien kidolgozott munka (tipikus Tim Burton ).

In two separate accidents on November 22, a bus and a truck collided with trains, killing nine people and injuring 10 others.

The impact flung the bus on his motorcycle.

The railway authorities and local residents took the 10 injured people to Thuong Tin Hospital.

The Hanoi police said the bus driver carelessly crossed the track and caused the accident.

In the central province of Phu Yen, a truck crashed into train SE 7953, which was also traveling from Hanoi to HCMC. The truck was totaled and its 37-year-old driver was killed instantly.

Two days ago, I watch an animation movie, titled “9″. It’s one of those dark and depressing animation where it is more suitable to the young adults. The movie was set after a war between human and machine and there was only a survivor, a scientist, who managed to transfer his soul into a little mechanical humanoid stitchpunk. He was #9. The last one to be created.

The main story is about his fighting against the machine that wanted to destroyed the stitchpunks, and there were some history about the machines and the stitchpunks themselves.

The movie is quite interesting but there are loopholes that I think could be confusing. The storyline could be better obviously. While eccentric is one of the quality of Tim Burton’s movies. This one is just random and strange.

SPOILER ALERT

I think it’s very interesting that very often technology, no matter how great it is,  is depicted as something that would backlash at us in the long term. In ”9″,  we found out that the fabrication machine was created to do good; create war machines for people. However, after being forced to build war machines beyond its capacity, it snapped under the pressure and self-programmed the war machines to attack any sign of life. Other examples would be Minority Report (2002), The Island (2005), and Surrogates (2009). 

…and now I’m wondering why I am writing this at 2.58 am.

Aunque se pretenda su inexistencia y el discurso oficial los oculte bajo la excusa de la agitación, el sistema adeuda, tras 26 años, una respuesta social: La construcción colectiva que atienda la exclusión; la pobreza, la seguridad y el acceso a la educación.

El camino de la consolidación democrática, tuvo como toda experiencia social, episodios controvertidos y felices. A tanto tiempo de su reinstauración, debemos como dirigentes políticos repensar el modelo y, desde esa perspectiva, admitir que aún tenemos deudas con la sociedad: NO hemos sido capaces construir una democracia para todos.

Discutíamos en los 80 el slogan alfonsinista que aseguraba que con la democracia se come, se educa y se cura. Hoy ese paradigma recobra fuerza y nos obliga a repensar nuestro rol, el de los vecinos y las entidades intermedias para lograr, con conciencia, un compromiso que una reclamos y soluciones y despeje de burocracia la demanda urgente de soluciones.

Hace tiempo atrás advertía que las estadísticas sobre la baja en el rendimiento educativo, que ubicaba a Entre Ríos en un lugar preocupante, no delataba sólo una caída en el ranking, sino el empobrecimiento de nuestro futuro.

A ello, debo agregar ahora, el alarmante índice de violencia y confrontación, que por fuera de analizar si son muchos o pocos los casos que acontecen, ponen en jaque a los vecinos que terminan tras sus propias rejas, atrincherados, presos del miedo que alimenta la inseguridad que no distingue entre ricos y pobres.

El entramado social está en jaque. Lo acosa la violencia callejera, la falta de trabajo, el paco, el sálvese quien pueda y la ausencia de políticas estructurales que lo remedien. Del otro lado, el gobierno acusa a los agitadores, pone la culpa en la operación de prensa, responsabiliza a la oposición interna y externa y se saca de encima la protesta ruidosa y molesta de los que necesitan, que se vuelve legítima cuando la encabezan los piqueteros K.

La bronca colectiva no es mérito de ningún agitador, es el resultado de una construcción endeble que nos deja atónitos frente al televisor que muestra el reclamo de una sociedad a un sistema que está ciego y sordo. Juan Carr, de Red Solidaria, preguntaba ayer, en un artículo publicado en La Nación, cómo podía la sociedad permanecer sin reacción frente a la desaparición de una familia. Entre Ríos tiene también su propio caso: La familia Gill de la que nunca se supo el paradero. En el momento de la desaparición, el jefe de la familia tenía 56 años, su esposa 26 y los niños 12, 9, 6 y 3 años.

Hace poco tiempo atrás, cacerolas y cucharones movilizaron el país y la música sonó a indignación. Hoy, el escenario institucional no está resquebrajado como en esos años, pero no logramos satisfacer la expectativa de la sociedad frente a un sistema que debe responder y contener a todos. Quizás requiera de políticas a largo plazo, pero ya utilizamos de ese crédito una fracción importante.

Sin duda estamos en deuda. No hemos sido capaces aún de hacer tangibles a los que no logran un trabajo digno, a los gurises que dejan la escuela porque tienen que sumar unos pesos para que la familia llegue a fin de mes y mucho menos a los que encolumnados en un plan social, que no cubre ni la más mínima necesidad, pujan en la cola de la vergüenza por la falta de trabajo digno a pesar de que se los llama beneficiarios.

La democracia es nuestra. La recuperamos para todos. Es hora de admitir que somos responsables de sus invisibles, aunque de tanto en tanto el golpeteo de la protesta los haga tangibles y se vuelvan, como debe ser, protagonistas del sistema.
