I particularly liked this photo of our friend Tracy. I just wish she would record a jazz album so I can offer this up as a cover possibility or, at the very least, a promo shot. If you asked her, she’d insist it was anything but a jazzy moment, but black and white never lies….

La figura que nos ocupa hoy es de la marca italiana Pegaso Models a escala de 90 mm y perteneciente a la serie “Pegaso Girls”. Está pintada con técnica mixta aerógrafo-pincel, usando acrilicos, esmaltes y lacas. El terreno además no es el que viene con la figura, ya que la autora de este trabajo, la excelente Pepa Saavedra, se construyo uno mejor.

After a long day at the Bucktown Arts Festival, I came home still lacking a photo for the day. I was going to snack on some cereal and a few pieces fell out of the box onto the counter. I loved the way they fell, but the light was terrible. So I pulled out my camera and slapped on the macro lens. I then set a long exposure, turned out all the lights, tripped the shutter, and proceeded to wave a beam from a flashlight over the cereal. This was the exposure I liked most.

Work on the Castle continues

I have been putting in some time on the castle for my 90mm figures. This was originally started as a project for my daughter’s class. Together we completed two towers and wall sections. I have been working on the keep and the gate.

With a little luck I will be able to complete the castle (including some touch-ups to the parts that went to school) before next weekend. Then I will have to put together some ladders and siege equipment!

The Captain's gate - Gate piece is constructed around two Captain Crunch cereal boxes!

Game with Jim

Yesterday, I was able to get in a quick 90mm skirmish with my friend Jim. Gaming time is a scarce commodity for both of us. These days we most often get the chance to game at conventions despite living no more than a couple of miles from one another.

The game was fought using Rob Dean and Ross Macfarlane’s rules from Battlegames. The set up was similar to what Sean and I had played a couple weeks back. Jim won initiative and allowed me to go first. I rolled low and barely moved forward. Jim had similar results but decided to spur his knights forward.

: The knights meet well in front of the foot.

The game came to an unexpected close on the third turn as our knights duked it out in melee. Jim lost his entire command in three turns of melee. Knights save on anything but a “6″. Jim rolled a string of them. Still it was nice to get figures on the table again.

I am hoping to finish up the castle in the next week or two and get it on the table for a game!
