Test: Go to some company and tell them about a free product that outsmart theirs..they will fuss over the free software and free software culture. Now, go to some foss activist, and talk to them about some proprietary software or Microsoft. They will start harassing them.

I ask you, why? Why are we deepening the bay between free software culture and proprietary software culture? The answers lie in our minds, deep..buried, because we never want to reveal them.

Free is Free

Each one has its own significance. Take the example …you are a techno-geek who is just passed out from the college, securing excellent marks, and you look around for jobs. All you get is the slogans of free software and develop free software. Will you get paid? Yeah, only in a few cases. Most of the work is volunteer-based, so you won’t get paid for it.

There are the questions related to this main question. Proprietary software are bad? No..actually, they aren’t. I am also a foss-activist, but unlike some others, I do not criticize proprietary software. I do not have enough abilities to do so. People might say that I am a foss-activist an

d I am supporting proprietary software. I am not taking anyone’s side. I am on my way, on both sides, there are two worlds..foss and non-foss. Choose what fascinates you.

plete aspects of Windows Vista and Windows XP. Of course, I do not deny, and nor Microsoft will, that Windows Vista hadn’t gained as much popularity as Windows XP or Windows 98 did. Some FOSS activists call it the ultimate failure of Vista. I do not agree. Even if Vista hadn’t been much popular, it isn’t a failure. Now, Windows 7 is appealing product of Microsoft Corporation, but what I comment on it, is that it’s priced too high. In the meaning, too high for students, and economic classes. So, not everybody will benefit from it. Also, proprietary software includes great support and help from manufacturer. So, Its a good deal.

Free & Open Source Software, like my own group, Free & Open Source Software For Youth Foundation have its own significance. However, I am going to start my own proprietary group, so no offence Free software has no limitations on how you use them, except being free too. So, this is one advantage ..oops..two advantages over proprietary software…use them or throw them in dustbin…you can use them anyway..no matter how. Now, there is one gaping hole, because the software are free and there are very few organizations offering free software..(please note that ‘very few’ is in context of total organizations…5 every 100) ..so, there is a lack of support and patches, as well as people has low enthusiasm towards free software. But overall, it doesn’t stops me to say that FOSS are great!

Results: What I think, is that FOSS and Proprietary software are just two wheels of a cart. Both has their own position and dependencies and effects and reliabilities. We shouldn’t deepen the bay between them, but, We should bond them together. Proprietary software and free software should be bound together, because, both of their target is one: Get customers enough satisfaction with their products. So, Why not end this war? Only if FOSS and Proprietary software will work together, then they will be able to attract more customers, users and who knows, this theory might change the world!

Davor Suker foi artilheiro com seis gols no Mundial da França

Tudo bem, Suker era um jogador famoso antes da Copa de 1998 . Atacante do Real Madrid, ele acabara de sagrar-se campeão da Champions League e era um dos líderes da Seleção Croata que debutaria em Mundiais nos gramados franceses.

I am going to do a multi part series on Online Safety, and keeping your computer clean.  I will keep it simple but I know some great software out there to help in this battle.  Ready, well then let’s go. 

First before you do anything else, always make sure your operating system is updated.  In Windows I would suggest going to  http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/ and make sure Microsoft Update is installed.  This adds a nice function to the Windows Update feature allowing the updating of other Microsoft software like Office, Windows Live, and so on.  Once it is installed run it!  Those security updates are a first line of defense.  To run it afterward in Windows Vista and 7 just start the Windows Update program in the Start Menu.  In Windows XP click on the Safety menu in Internet Explorer 8 (Which if you don’t have installed, please do so by downloading it from here http://www.microsoft.com/windows/Internet-explorer/default.aspx) and click on Windows Update.  In Windows 2000 you click on the Tools menu in Internet Explorer 6 SP1.

Now once Updates have been installed, I want to talk to you.  Even if you don’t use Internet Explorer, always make sure it is updated.  There are other components of the Windows operating system that use components of IE.  This will help keep you safe to have it updated.  Also Windows 2000 users I do not suggest using Internet Explorer 6 SP1 for your daily browsing however keep it updated,  click here to read about other safer alternatives. 

Updates are your first line of defense but your second line is some form of software that will actively protect you from Viruses and Spyware.   Also make sure every once in a while you run a full system scan to clean up your computer.

Windows Defender comes with Windows Vista and 7 and can be installed in XP  It is small and light weight and also does not bog the system down.  Leaving it on and updated is a great tool, but it is mostly for Spyware and Adware.  It updates through Windows update so if your system updates automatically then your set.  You can run it manually though and do a full scan to clean up your system too.  In Windows 7 Windows Defender is in the Control panel, in Windows Vista and if installed in XP it is in the Start Menu.  You can download it for Windows XP from here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/resultsForProduct.aspx?displaylang=en&productID=f8f1c499-e587-48a5-ac81-164e850dca48&nr=20&sortCriteria=Popularity&sortOrder=Ascending&stype=ss_sd For Windows 2000 users click here to find out how you can get Windows Defender.

2. Microsoft Security Essentials, You should have some form of Virus protection on your computer, you really should, but if you don’t and can’t afford it, Microsoft did something really cool recently.  They released Security Essentials.  It is built off of the Windows Live One Care and their corporate version Forefront.  Security Essentials has been rated well so far and I suggest it over AVG however AVG is another great Free alternative.  It will replace Windows Defender as it does both Virus and Spyware.  It is like Defender in that it will not bog a system down at all.  It also updates through Windows Update.  I suggest it.  You can get it for Windows XP, Vista, and 7 here http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/?info=EXLINK

3.  If you have the money to pay for good protection I suggest Norton Antivirus.(Norton Internet Security is alright too but I just prefer Norton Antivirus, just less software)  It also does both Virus and Spyware protection.  It has its own method for updates and does not bog a system down at all, not in the newer versions,  the software is greatly improved.  You can check out at www.symantec.com or at any Staples or Best Buy.

Malicious Software Removal Tool

Now there are a few good tools for removing Spyware and Adware.  I suggest installing them all and running them, this helps to ensure you remove as many threats as possible.   Make sure that after you have installed them to run an update in each of the programs before you scan, this will help ensure you get everything the program can detect.  I suggest installing these tools and when your done with them uninstall them.  I prefer to not have every starting with Windows and slowing it down. However if you want something other than Windows Defender protecting your system I suggest Spybot. 

1.  Spybot – Search & Destroy, This has been one of the best tools for years.  Time and time again is gets the more popular stuff the first time.  It is small and light weight.  if you are not happy with Windows Defender then this is a great program to leave running for active protection, but make sure to turn off and disable Windows Defender.  It is available for Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, ME, XP, Vista, and 7.  You can get it at http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

- il/elle dirige les 2 sites de la médiathèque de l’IUFM (site de Nouméa et site de Wallis)

- il/elle est responsable du secteur documentaire « pédagogie et concours » en coordination avec la correspondante documentation de l’IUFM et avec la responsable des ressources documentaires du SCD

Cuando la gente piensa que en el mundo de internet no existe control, se equivoca. En todo momento nuestra privacidad esta siendo violada, en un pacto que se cuece en las altas esferas controladoras.

Esto es el primer articulo (de muchos mas) sobre el oscuro mundo de internet y la informática.

Empezaremos por como espían los sistemas operativos que tenéis instalados en vuestros PCs .A la “masa”, y como en todo momento (aquellos que tengan sistemas microsoft) pueden ser intervenidos si están conectados a la Red de redes.

Para iros poniendo al tanto os explicare como funciona el mercado de software a muy grandes rasgos.

Código abierto y código cerrado. (Simplificando mucho las cosas).

Un programa se hace en un código fuente, que el humano entiende, y ese trozo de texto se compila y queda en ceros y unos. Si nos dan solo los ceros y los unos, volver al código fuente en algo como un sistema operativo es literalmente imposible.

De ahí la eterna lucha de código abierto o cerrado. En el código sea cerrado, por lo tanto, nadie salvo el propio fabricante sabe que hace ese software exactamente. Esto en un sistema operativo es grave. En el código abierto, el código fuente es publico, por lo tanto sabes con precisión lo que hace tu propio ordenador.

Por lo que nos pueden espiar absolutamente todo de nuestro pc sin ningún tipo de problema.

Hace años que se sabe en el mundo de informática que los sistemas windows, tienen claves de NSA, si, si. De la National Security Agency. Esos que manejan la CIA, unos chavalazos. Y se venden con esta magnifica puerta trasera a TODOS los USUARIOS y PAISES. Y desde hace años nunca lo he visto en la televisión.

¿Porque los países no protestan, aun sabiéndolo?

Salvo casos puntuales como Alemania que cambio todos sus sistemas operativos por esto mismo…

¿Y porque no hay denuncias en los juzgados?

Desde el punto de vista de un servidor, esta claro. Como son todos los mismos colegas, ¿que mas da?, además, eso mueve mucho dinero como para no gastarlo entre ellos.
