Bonus Footage: I was trying to find a clip of what I thought was Jean Grae for like two years. I heard this girl rapping on interludes for 9th Wonder’s 2007 Dream Merchant II. The only female emcee associated with him, or so I thought at the time, was Jean Grae so I just assumed it was her. In the process of looking for this clip I learned that it was not Jean Grae. It was in fact a female emcee named Rapsody. You learn something new everyday. The product for Boot Camp Clik’s Triple Threat Box Set is in. A beautiful case, which features all three albums from Boot Camp Clik’s 2005, Triple Threat Summer, is bound to sell-out quickly.

The Triple Threat campaign was groundbreaking. It marked the beginning of Sean Price’s solo career with his debut release, “Monkey Barz.” Fans were introduced to the witty word play of Sean Price as he displayed ignorance at its finest.

The campaign was the first time that grammy-award winning producer 9^th Wonder teamed up with Buckshot, for their project, “Chemistry.” The pairing of an MC & Producer from outside camps, which at the time was a novel idea, has since become a more popular trend.

Wale is anything but a beast. 9th Wonder, I suppose he’s closer to bestiality, sans the zoophilia definition. But if I’m not mistaken Wale is in the business of disappointment as of late. His first week record sales of his first LP, Attention Deficit, were meager when contextualized within the Wale marketing scheme. This prompted a managerial gem of a disclaimer from Wale’s manager, Weisman told XXL “Wale’s the type of artist who is bigger than the metrics say he is.” Well of course he is Daniel. He’s a real beast. Peep the track and let me know, are you impressed?

Why Wale left 9th Wonder off of his album? I have no idea, but luckily for us 9th has slipped us a few tracks via his twitter. This one uses a similar hook to part of Let It Loose so maybe Wale chose that song over this one. Both songs are nice, but 9th is one of my favorite producers, so I like this one better.

Myone, Myth and Symbolyc One are Strange Fruit Project. Three emcees who continue to set trends and go against the grain.

SFP is releasing their first group project since their critically acclaimed 2006 album “The Healing” which was nothing short of a hip-hop classic. The group is back with a new EP “M.A.S.K. – Making Art Sound Kool”. M.A.S.K. is a free downloadable project which consists of production from the likes of Grammy nominated producer 9th Wonder, along with production from S1, Picnic and newcomer Caleb, all based in the Dallas area.

M.A.S.K. is a prelude to the forthcoming full length LP from SFP which will be released in spring of 2010.

Love Potion Number 9th: The Hangover’ is an A side B side tape inspired by, with all beats borrowed from 9th Wonder. The A side is 8 songs that were released back in 2007 as a part of the original “Love Potion Number 9th”. After receiving lots of positive feedback, the B Side, “The Hangover” was recorded. Spanning from early 2008 to the summer of 2009, “The Hangover” is the result of releasing and gaining support from the original.

After promoting the debut album “Sunday Drive”, “Love Potion” started receiving even more positive feedback and interest, so “The Hangover” portion, which was previously unreleased, was added to complete the tape. In honor of 9th Wonder’s contribution to the project as well as serving as one of the primary influences, David Hildreth created the cover and Heath O’Campo designed the layout. “Love Potion Number 9th” features The Only Ones Crew, which consisted of Adullessence, Mike Schpitz aka LoveJones, Large Marge and Stik Figa. “Love Potion” is also sponsored by FlawlessHustle.com, RefinedHype.com and Chicago Sneaker Boutique AKIN.
