I know I’m pretty late writing about this. But I had pretty low expectations on the video so it didn’t feel that important to watch it immediately. Do I regret that? You fucking bet I do! I was expecting it to be beautiful and boring, like the video for A Beautiful Lie. It wasn’t. I LOVE this video. I got the shivers like five times while watching it, haha.

Ha nem teszünk semmit ez ellen a csapás ellen, pár év múlva már Magyarország is igazi sivatag lesz. Már látszik is. Nem vetted észre hogy egyre melegebbek a nyarak, télen gyakorlatilag nem is esik hó, plakátokon mindenhol kis jeges- és panda macik láthatók, és minden plakát szomorú? Ezek még csak töredékét sem jellemzik annak, hogy mi van igazából Földünkön. Nem csak kipusztul az általunk ismert állatfajok fele 50 év múlva, de a tengerszint is meg fog növekedni (elolvad gyakorlatilag az Antartisz), sivatagok lesznek még a havas északon is (szintén az a forróság), de ki fog lyukadni az ózon réteg, melynek csekély töredéknyi következménye, a most felsoroltak: a mag valószínűleg leáll, nincs, ami megvédje a Földet a nagyon káros sugárzásoktól, és az iszonyú forróságtól, ezáltal ha mégis lenne valami ellenállás, az emberek nem gondolnak majd arra, hogy a vírusok (igen, a vírusok), a meleg hatására kelnek ki, lesznek aktívabbak, és pl. a sáskáknak se lesz mit enniük, ezért durván mondva a természet fellázad az emberek ellen. Ez tetszik neked? Na ugye, hogy nem akarod egy vírusos tepsiben megtalálni a halált!!! Akkor tegyél ez ellen!:

Åh kan inte vänta. Är mer än ett år sedan jag såg 30 Seconds To Mars i Helsingfors. Allra sissta konserten där de turnerade med albumet ‘A Beautiful Lie’. De har jobbat med ‘This Is War’ i två år nu och äntligen har de bestämt den första singeln och release datumet för den. Håll ögonen och öronen öppna för ‘Kings & Queens’ som kommer ut den 16 November… snart!!!!!

Artist:  30 Seconds to Mars           Song:  From Yesterday            Album:  A Beautiful Lie
This band was formed in 1998 by Jared Leto (Actor in such movies as Panic Room, Alexander, American Psycho, Fight Club and Requiem for a Dream, as well as others) and his brother Shannon. When coming up with the band’s name, they read a thesis by a Harvard professor.  One of the section of the thesis was entitled “thirty seconds to mars” and it talks about the exponential growth of technology that relates to humans and saying that we are quite literally thirty seconds to mars.  The band took that as a sign and thought that this thesis would best describe their music, in short.  This song appeared on their sophomore album A Beautiful Lie and was released as a single in 2005.  It was widely popular and proved that an acting to music transition can prove to be successful.  However, he was a musician before he was an actor, and someone scouted him to be a model and he modeled for 2 years prior to appearing in dozens of movies.  It is good to see that he is getting back to his roots of music.  They have an album coming out in April of 2009 and Jared Leto is also starring in a movie to be released this summer called Mr. Nobody.

In 1930, a federal officer shot what was believed to be the last wolf in Yellowstone National Park. Thanks to the Endangered Species Act and an ambitious reintroduction program, some 1,500 wolves have returned to the northern Rockies, and the howling wolf is once again the icon of western wilderness.

But recently, Interior Secretary Salazar rubber-stamped a Bush-era plan to kick the wolves of the northern Rockies off the endangered species list and leave them vulnerable to mass killing. More than 600 wolves wolves could be caught in the crossfire of state-sponsored wolf hunts. NRDC is filing suit in federal court to block this disastrous policy. It’s a fight we’ve won before. In the summer of 2008, NRDC and 11 other conservation groups compelled the Bush administration to abandon its first attempt to strip wolves of their protection when we made the case that the wolves had not fully recovered. Over this past year, the wolf population of Yellowstone National Park declined 27 percent – and more than 70% of wolf pups in the park died of disease. NRDC will be fighting in federal court to compel Secretary Salazar to withdraw this disastrous plan and submit it to the kind of rigorous scientific review that the Obama administration has championed on other issues.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I thought it would be interesting if I posted a few useful links, whether it be entertainment- or green-living/environment-related. I visit these websites on a daily basis and they are pretty good for networking and educational purposes or simply for entertainment.

Care2:
The largest online community for healthy and green living, human rights and animal welfare. It looks like a green version of MySpace. After joining the site, you can have your own profile for your photos, interests, friends-list, etc. However, what makes this site more than a community of a bunch of wannabe-treehuggers is that you can actually do something for the causes you find important. There are hundreds of petitions you can sign or even start your own one(s), join groups, make friends, support causes with only one click, send eCards and create your own Care2 e-mail account. What I find the most interesting about this site is that it provides plenty of help and useful tips about green living, healthy recipes, family life, astrology, pets, family life, shopping, etc.

Ecorazzi:
Just admint it… who doesn’t love the good ole’ Hollywood gossips? If only they could say something new or interesting for a change, right? Well, Ecorazzi delivers the latest celebrity gossip….but the green version of it. Whether it is movies, music, fashion, events, animals or shopping you want to read about, you can find it all at Ecorazzi. As they say about themselves: “Ecorazzi exists to help celebrities further their good messages – and to offer the general public a way to follow their favorite celebs and perhaps learn something at the same time.”

A Beautiful Lie:
ABeautifulLie.org was created by the US band 30 Seconds to Mars after coming back from Greenland where they shot their latest music video for the song A Beautiful Lie. (By the way, the video can be watched on the site, too.) They are pretty dedicated when it comes to protecting the environment, human-and animal rights, and they created this website to share information and news about these matters. You can find videos, pictures, links and tips about how to protect the environment (some of them might sound obvious but it never hurts to pay more attention to them). What the majority of their fans appreciate the most is the message board where they can discuss whatever they find related to the subject. Oh, and I strongly recommend you read The Story aka the frontman Jared’s thoughts on the video shooting and visiting Greenland. Truly insipring…

PETA’s page for all the youngsters out there who are interested in vegetarianism, saving animals and being involved with these causes. Basically it operates like a street team: you get points for the actions you complete and these points can be used to get cool free stuffs (stickets, books, t-shirts, DVDs, pins, etc.). The staff is really sweet and eager to help you out with free posters and flyers you can pass out at your school. It’s also amazing how many new things you can learn about vegetarianism vs. eating meat, some of the videos are quite shocking… I’d say don’t watch them if you wanna cry, but…. DO watch them. You can’t be unaffected by them if you have a heart.

This song can mean so many diffrent things at diffrent times. It’s one of those songs with lyrics that will affect your day diffrently everytime diffrently. In the first stanza, as in a poem,

“He’s a stranger to some

I Think this stanza talks about the struggle of us being human, the band wrote the album, “A Beautiful lie” based on the idea of humanity itself, to explore how and why we feel the way we do, and looking back on our lives. “He’s a stranger to some, and a vision to none” This deals with idenity in this first line. “He can never get enough, enough of the one” This one kind of hints towards spirituality, so maybe it is not only finding yourself, but finding a higher meaning in your life.

I think this stanza talks about the struggle either with money or power, or self, and not knowing who you are or where you begin or what your “life story” is and where it begins. And in the last line, “But he doesn’t want to read this message yet” This talks about prophecy, We don’t know where are going in a few years and we don’t want to know, it is better to live everyday and not taking anything for granted.

The first line in this verse talks about committing sins and hints to how we all make mistakes, and how it is apart of being human. and in the second line, it talks about how “through much struggle comes great reward” meaning that the person narrated in this song has been through alot of bad things and is looking back and remembering.

Then he asks God or a higher being what his judgement is about what will happen and what will be done.

Finally, he reads or is read the message that is how the song is built up. This song envelopes all of the elements of being human and how we can all react and reflect on ourselves and our humanity.

I just wanted to post a shameless plug for my own website, Inner Ear.
