Spring came early here on Highland Avenue – in fact, some days are more like summer. This bodes well for strollers hereabouts: travel past our street-side gallery to see our newest window, Ceremony. The take-home poem is Cult of Personality. PoemSite, a collaboration between the artist Andrea Korotky and the poet Laurance Wieder, features poetry hand-lettered on salvaged windows. Piedmont Council for the Arts

Hats off to Piedmont Council’s Maggie Guggenheimer and Sarah Lawson. In their new office and exhibition space in the CitySpace building overlooking the downtown mall here in Charlottesville, Virginia, they advocate for artists near and far. I first met Sarah last year here at my studio on Highland Avenue. It wasn’t long before I attended an Art Drinks evening at Zocalo, chatted up local klezmer musicians, and raised a glass with new and old friends. A.
