Roses Are Red

Today I decided to bring out one of my vintage dresses that I’ve had mixed feelings about. I found this dress a few years ago and fell in love with the print. At first I was going to alter it and take the bodice off and just wear it as a skirt. Then I thought about altering the neckline. But on Halloween I decided to actually wear it as it is (I also was wearing day of the dead face paint)
It was that day that I decided to leave it as it is.

Beautiful full skirt with………….POCKETS!!!! This dress has it all. Pockets, rose prints, circle skirt and beauty.

A little twirl. I love how the skirt flows.

Just to wanted to show you how wide the skirt is, and get this……….its all one piece! More fabric for a lovely twirl.

2012 Bridal Show

So this weekend me and my lovely bridesmaid attended the bridal show at the Direct Energy Centre. It was everything I expected. Tonnes of overwhelmed brides, men being dragged around looking at their watches. Parents trying to force their ideas upon their kids. Tonnes of boothes, cakes and draws, draws, draws oooh and a Canadian beer booth.
As a bride to be I do recommend it to anyone who is planning a wedding, or just starting to plan.
I wanted to take more pictures but I got in trouble after taking pics of the cake wall.

Lol I was amused by these gowns. Very corset meets crinoline.

Just as I clicked the camera this lady stepped in front of me and then I was informed “NO PICTURES ” lol

Peacock Toes!

Today I finally got to wear my new beautiful peacock shoes that my sister got me for Christmas. She bought them at this great little store in Calgary called Blame Betty. I have been dying to wear them but its been either raining or snowing this winter. But today it was dry so I jumped to the opportunity.

Kitchen Cuteness!

So yesterday I woke up early to go for breakfast with an old friend. When I arrived home I was greeted with a lovely surprise…….. a cute little cupcake kitchen cooking set. It has an apron, cooking mitt, and towel. I love it!!! Some may not think this is great but I do, as we spend alot of time in the kitchen. Either way I have the cutest fiance ever

These were purchased from a lovely little store on Queen St East called Beaufort. They have very cute house wares and knicknackery .

So its officially winter here in Toronto and it was quite chilly today. All I wanted to do was stay in bed curled up under the warm covers. So on days like today I chose my comfy dress. Hey all,
Today I decided to break out a pair of fishnet nylons that have been hiding in the bottom of my drawer for over a year. I decided to pair it with a high waisted skirt that I havent worn in a couple years. I was reminded shortly after I left the house why I havent worn it.
I was also reminded that its apparently winter outside and its time to start dressing for the weather

50's Engagement shoot

Hello all,
So last August me and my hubby did our engagement shoot. We wanted it to be unique and also show our style. We decided to start the photo shoot off at a very cool little 1950 diner in Red Deer Alberta called Queens Diner. It was so fun, cute, and colorful. Our next stop was in a scrap metal yard where we actually were forced into a little adventure, as we were locked in and had to break out lol. And last we shot a little picnic sunrise in a field just outside of Red Deer. It was a very fun day and our photographer Leigha Graf was amazing. I highly recommend her to anyone. 2012 Golden Globes

Hello all,

So Im going to be honest and say I did not watch the Golden Globes, and that when I do I only watch them for the Red Carpet. I Did check out some of the blog results today on who people were talking about and who they were voting for as best and worst dressed. After looking through here is my opinion on some of the dresses.

Top 5 Winners

Although I have seen a lot of comments about how thin Angelina Jolie is she still gets my #1 best dressed vote. Mabye her arms do look a little thin but you have to give a woman credit when it is due. Angelina Knows how to wow a red carpet. She has an amazing presence as well as a great style. When I look at her I think she has not only an amazing presence but also a certain amount of confidence that I love. Now about her gown! She wore a draped ivory Atelier Versace gown, with a Red shoulder accent along with a Christian Louboutin clutch. This dress is Beautiful, feminine and goddess like! I love it!

#2 Julie Bowen

This lovely lady blew me away with her 1940′s inspired look! I love it too! She a wore a nude-colored floor-length gown by Reem Acra.

#3 SOFIA VERGARA

This dress is not only stunning but flaunted her beautiful curves. She is wearing a Vera Wang mermaid style gown that compliments her in every way. From the colors to the detailing. She is beautiful.

#4 Reese Witherspoon

Reese looks great in her crimson Zac Posen gown that shows off all her petite curves, as well as her effortless blonde waves!

#5 CHARLIZE THERON

Normally Im not a huge fan of Charlize’s red carpet style and I personally find it to be very hit or miss………but for this occasion I think it is a hit. She is wearing a plunging Dior Haute Couture gown. She has a great look of confidence as she shows off her lovely leg .

My NON Favorites

#1 Jessica Biel

Here is another celeb that is a total hit or miss. Although this dress made it on the People.com best dress list I do not agree. I think she could do a lot better. I think that this ivory Elie Saab gown looks more like a wedding gown rather than a Red carpet gown. I can appreciate the beauty of the gown but I do not think that it was a right fit for her at all.

#2 Kelly Osbourne

I think that her blue Zac Posen dress completely overwhelming. It totally takes away from her shape and her look. I think the dress was more in the spotlight than she was.

#3 Sarah Michelle Gellar

Wearing a Monique Lhuillier gown that her daughter picked out was a little loud and overbearing for her. The cut and design is beautiful im just not a fan of the print.

I have alot more Non-favorites but I am going to stop here!

Happy Monday all,
Today I was not feeling Monday at all, but I figured I would try my best to start out the work week on a fresh and clean note. I decided to wear one of my new dresses that I got on Friday. I must say it definitely brought up my mood. Nothing beats the feeling of a brand spanking new dress (or new anything) There is something about a new article of clothing that gives you a feeling of confidence, sexyness, and your desire to strut .

Happy Sunday. Today me and my handsome fiance decided to go for a brisk Sunday stroll up to little India. We found some lovely spices and other things. Today I decided to bust out my favorite snow bunny vintage boots. They are by a company called Blond-O, made in Canada and they are great! So warm, so cute!

So I won this lovely little coffee table book in a Chinese gift exchange, and after taking to time to look through it cover to cover I felt obligated to write about it. Fur & Bows

Today I must admit I woke up feeling a little stiff and sore from yesterdays gym workout. All I wanted to do was stay curled up in my warm bed. But because that is not an option I decided to wear something that was comfy yet cool

Today I wore my new bow top from Jacob, an old H&M skirt, vintage heels, and vintage black cardigan.

As I was leaving my house this morning I decided that my lovely fur coat would bring up my mood. And it sure did. I LOVE THIS COAT!

Frugal Furs

Good Day Peeps,

This weekend I was going through my closet and I rekindled my love for my vintage fur coat. Its beautiful! Black, Sleek and it makes me feel like a million dollars . As soon as I put it on I feel like I travel through time and I imagine myself in the 1950′s. Oh so Classy . So today I decided to do a little blurb on furs and how they can be affordable for anyone.

For me personally I would never go out and purchase a brand new expensive fur. Especially when I got mine for $50. These days stores are producing very real looking faux fur. This makes it a lot easier for people to own a fur and save an animal. You can find some really great faux furs for under $200 online.

If your searching for a real fur the first place I would look is on http://www.etsy.com. There are some really amazing furs on that site for under $500. If online shopping is not an option for you, my recommendation is to either hit up a vintage shop near you, or a local Value Village. You never know what steals you may find.

Always check the shoulder, neck, and armpit for holes and cracking. If they are it means the fur is dry. It can be repaired but you can judge if it is worth it for the price. Today I was excited to wear my new top I got from my hubby. He got it at this lovely little shop in Calgary called Blame Betty. Its awesome! Im not just talking about my top. The store is great. They have a great assortment of ladies Rockabilly clothing as well as a great new addition upstairs for menswear. My hubby got an awesome Lucky 13 jacket. (I will post photos this week)
I paired my top with a new grey cardigan I got from my mom for Xmas as well as a cute skirt I got in Texas a few years ago.

Dont mind my alien dog shes harmless .
