Zaventum-headquartered Brussels Airlines, the largest airline based in Belgium, becomes the 26th member of the grouping.</p>

<p>From its hub at Brussels Airport, the airline flies 200 daily flights to 69 destinations across Europe and Africa, offering greater connectivity for Star Alliance passengers and boosting the network&#8217;s reach to 1,077 destinations in 175 countries with more than 19,700 daily flights. An Africa specialist, Brussels Airlines also introduces 4 destinations (Bujumbura, Conakry, Kigali and Monrovia) on the continent which were previously unserved by Star Alliance.</p>
<p align="none">&#160;</p>
<p>With the addition of Brussels Airlines, Star Alliance passengers can now incorporate the airline&#8217;s flights into the Round the World fare, Europe Airpass and/or the Africa Airpass. Passengers will also be able to earn and redeem miles on the airline&#8217;s flights, with Brussels Airlines&#8217; Miles &#38; More HON Circle and Senator cardholders being awarded Star Alliance Gold status while Frequent Traveller cardholders awarded Star Alliance Silver status.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Hainan Airlines, the largest private airline in China, has announced it will increase frequencies on the Beijing-Brussels route to daily service. The airline currently offers 3 weekly and 4 weekly flights during the winter and summer seasons respectively.</p>
<p align="none">&#160;</p>
<p>Beginning 27 April 2010, flight HU 491 departs Beijing Capital Airport daily at 0120 hrs, arriving in Brussels Airport at 0530 hrs in the morning. On the return leg, flight HU 492 takes off from Brussels at 1350 hrs and lands back in Beijing at 0510 hrs the next day. The airline has timed the flights to allow for convenient onward connections to and from Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taipei and other destinations across China and Northeast Asia.</p>
<p align="none">&#160;</p>
<p>All flights will be operated using a 2-class Airbus A330-200 aircraft configured with 36 Business Class and 186 Economy Class seats. Offering a generous 74-inch seat pitch, the fixed-shell Business Class seats convert into a full-flat bed, with the audio-video on-demand inflight entertainment delivered by a 10.6-inch personal screen. In Economy Class, passengers enjoy ergonomic slimline seats with a 8.9-inch personal monitor fitted to the seatback.</p>

<p>Haikou-based Hainan Airlines has been operating on the route since 2006. Brussels is 1 of 18 international destinations served by the airline in Africa, Asia, Europe and North America, including Astana, Bangkok, Berlin, Budapest, Dubai, Luanda, Moscow, Seattle, Seoul and St. Petersburg.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Airbus has said it before but it is worth reminding people that if Northrop Grumman follows through <a href="http://leehamnews.wordpress.com/2009/12/01/northrop-says-no-bid-on-tanker-unless/">on its statement that it will not bid the KC-30</a> in the KC-X competition unless significant changes are made to the Draft Request for Proposals (DRFP), Airbus won&#8217;t build an A330-200F assembly plant on its own in Mobile (AL).</p>
<p>We checked with Airbus immediately after Northrop&#8217;s announcement and a spokesman confirmed that the company&#8217;s position has not changed: there is no &#8220;business case&#8221; for an A330F final assembly line (FAL) without the KC-30 tanker contract.</p>
<p><!--more--></p>
<p>In our view, this is more important to Boeing than the prospect of Northrop dropping the KC-30 bid. Airbus needs to reduce its Euro-cost base and the Alabama plant was an important step toward achieving this goal. Once the A330F was established here, we believe the A330P line would have been located in Mobile as well. After that&#8211;would another A320 line, or its successor, be moved to Mobile? Would a second A350 line?</p>
<p>Boeing fully understood these questions and strategically it was just as important if not more so to block the Mobile line. Killing the KC-30 was the only way to do so.</p>

<p>A Turkish Airlines confirmou pedido para a compra de duas aeronaves de frete A330-200F, tornando-se uma nova cliente desse modelo. A aeronave será equipada com motores Rolls Royce e se juntará à frota Airbus já existente, composta por quatro A310, no outono de 2010.</p>
<p>O avião será usado para apoiar os ambiciosos planos da Turkish Airlines, que incluem a expansão de suas operações no segmento de transporte de carga</p>
<p>“A flexibilidade e eficiência dos cargueiros A330-200, juntamente com as vantagens do compartilhamento de funcionalidades com nossa frota de Airbus já existente, fez do novo A330 a escolha ideal para a expansão de nossas operações no setor de transporte de carga aérea”, disse o Dr. Cantan Karlitekin, Presidente da Turkish Airlines.</p>
<p>John Leahy, COO da divisão de Clientes da Airbus, disse: “Com seus baixos custos e configurações operacionais adaptáveis, o modelo A330-200F é a melhor opção no atual mercado de frete. Temos uma longa relação com a Turkish Airlines e estamos contentes com o fato da empresa ter escolhido o mais novo membro da Família Airbus para suas operações de transporte de carga”.</p>
<p>A Turkish Airlines vem operando com aviões Airbus desde 1985 e atualmente tem uma frota de 67 aeronaves Airbus, incluindo quatro A310s, 47 aviões da Família A320, sete A330s e nove A-340s.</p>
<p>Os aviões da Airbus compartilham, além da incomparável cabine, as mesmas características operacionais, o que permite às empresas aéreas usarem o mesmo time de pilotos, tripulação de cabine e engenheiros de manutenção, oferecendo flexibilidade operacional e significativa economia de custo.</p>

Walaupun tadi malam habis dinas malam, tadi pagi bisa bangun untuk ke masjid, tapi hampir telat, hehehe. Saya ucapkan selamat hari raya Idul Adha buat pembaca sekalian. Semoga Allah selalu memberikan rahmat dan hidayahnya kepada kitas semua, Amiin.</p>

<p>Tulisan saya kali ini berbobot ringan, hanya berbagi pengalaman saja, jangan terlalu serius <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> . Idul Adha di Indonesia identik dengan haji, kurban, dan ketupat. Bicara mengenai haji, kepadatan lalu lintas udara di Bandara Hasanuddin Makassar tidak banyak terpengaruh. Penerbangan haji menggunakan pesawat Airbus 330 maskapai Garuda Indonesia Airlines dari Makassar maksimal hanya 4 kali dalam sehari (jika salah mohon dikoreksi, selama saya dinas maksimal cuma kebagian 4 ekor <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  ). Pesawat haji juga parkir di apron (tempat parkir pesawat, red) bandara lama sehingga pergerakan lalu lintas pesawat di darat untuk penerbangan komersil reguler pun tidak menemui hambatan. Diluar dari itu semua, saya bersyukur bisa membantu &#8220;proses naik haji&#8221; orang-orang yang ber-embarkasi di Makassar. Semoga mereka menjadi haji-haji yang mabrur. Amiin.<br />

<p>Mengenai kurban, tahun ini (di Makassar) saya justru jarang menemui kambing sebagai hewan kurban. Dari beberapa aktivis masjid yang saya tanya, rata-rata hewan kurban berupa sapi. Di masjid terdekat dengan rumah saya, Al-Multazam, justru semua hewan kurbannya adalah sapi yaitu sebanyak 9 ekor. Apakah kambing sudah punah? Atau kambing mahal sehingga lebih menguntungkan bila menggunakan sapi sebagai kurban? Pertanyaan yang kurang penting. Yang jelas, semoga hewan kurban dapat diterima dan membantu bagi orang-orang yang berhak.</p>
<p>Yang terakhir ini bahsan yang paling enak, ketupat, hehe. Saya yakin semua orang di Indonesia mengetahui makanan berbentuk kotak dari bahan beras ini. Dapat terbayang lezatnya bila dicampur dengan opor ayam buatan istri tercinta. Tidak berbeda dengan ibu-ibu lainnya, istri saya juga membuat ketupat dan opor ayam. Tapi ada yang beda dengan ketupat di Makassar. Daun pembungkus yang biasanya menggunakan daun kelapa, aka. janur, ketupat disini menggunakan daun pandan. Ketupat pun jadi lebih beraroma dan menantang untuk disantap dengan opor ayam kacang merah. <p>Passageiros do voo 4061, da empresa Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras, levaram um grande susto ontem após a aeronave apresentar um problema técnico pouco tempo depois da decolagem. Enquanto o avião subia, houve uma queda brusca de altitude e as máscaras de oxigênio caíram. De acordo com alguns passageiros, houve momentos de pânico no interior da aeronave. O incidente obrigou o piloto a realizar um pouso de emergência no aeroporto de Salvador, ponto de partida do avião, por volta das 12h. O destino do voo era o Aeroporto Internacional de Viracopos, em Campinas, São Paulo. De acordo com a assessoria da Azul, ainda não há informações sobre as possíveis causas do defeito técnico na aeronave. A empresa informa que a aeronave foi encaminhada para manutenção com o objetivo de detectar a origem do problema.</p>

<p><strong>Jobim entregará, em 10 dias, decreto sobre aeroportos</strong></p>
<p>O ministro da Defesa, Nelson Jobim, anunciou hoje que entregará em dez dias, ao presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, o decreto de concessão dos aeroportos brasileiros. De acordo com Jobim, o modelo do decreto &#8220;abre todas as alternativas possíveis&#8221; para concessões, desde grupo de aeroportos até terminais para companhias aéreas. Ele garantiu que as próximas eleições e os eventos esportivos não vão interferir no processo e justificou a demora dizendo que o tema &#8220;é complexo&#8221;.</p>
<p>&#8220;Não tínhamos experiência. Tivemos que fazer um levantamento no mundo todo para prever modelos de concessões exclusivas e de grupos de aeroportos. Uma das ideias é da outorga cujo pagamento será destinado a um fundo para financiar aeroportos deficitários e malhas regionais de aviação&#8221;, explicou o ministro.</p>

<p><strong>Brasil recebe mais de 590 mil passageiros de vôos internacionais</strong> </p>
<p>De acordo com dados divulgados pela Infraero, em outubro foram registrados os desembarques de 590.312 pessoas no Brasil em voos vindos do exterior. O número é 13,46% maior do que o mesmo período de 2009 e corresponde ao mês de maior crescimento em desembarques internacionais no Brasil de 2009.</p>
<p>Do total, 580.254 desembarques foram em voos regulares e 10.058 chegadas em voos não regulares (charters). Se forem considerados apenas os desembarques em voos regulares, o crescimento em relação a 2008 chega a 14%.</p>
<p>Entre janeiro e outubro, o Brasil registrou o desembarque de 5.342.705 de passageiros em voos internacionais &#8211; 2% a menos que o mesmo período de 2008. Os dados levam em conta estrangeiros que entram no Brasil e brasileiros em retorno ao País.</p>

<p><strong>Setur-CE mostra projeto do aeroporto de Jericoacoara</strong></p>
<p>O secretário de Turismo do Ceará, Bismarck Maia, apresentou hoje para a imprensa o projeto do aeroporto do polo de Jericoacoara, que terá recursos do Ministério do Turismo e do governo do Ceará. O novo aeroporto servirá ao polo turístico de Jericoacoara e será um equipamento fundamental para o aumento do número de turistas no Estado.</p>
<p>O equipamento – localizado no litoral oeste do Ceará, a 30 quilômetros da sede do município de Cruz e a 25 quilômetros da praia de Jericoacoara – será útil também ao comércio exterior, ao facilitar o transporte de flores cultivadas na Serra da Ibiapaba.</p>
<p>Com área total de 3.517,45 metros quadrados e pista de 2.200 metros por 45 metros, o aeroporto terá a capacidade de operar cerca de 1.200 decolagens por ano. Estará apto a receber aeronaves tipo Airbus A-330 ou Boeing 767-300. Serão investidos R$ 54 milhões na obra, a qual terá prazo de aproximadamente um ano e meio para ser concluída.</p>

<p><strong>Azul inaugura simulador</strong></p>
<p>A Azul Linhas Aéreas inaugurou em suas instalações de Alphaville (são Paulo) um simulador para pilotos dos jatos Embraer 190/195. O equipamento (Level D), foi comprado nos Estados Unidos por US$ 11 milhões. A companhia, que tem 150 pilotos, pretende ampliar esse quadro com mais 24 profissionais para fazer frente ao aumento da frota e das linhas. A companhia fechará o ano com 14 aeronaves em voo.</p>

<p><strong>Melhorias em Porto Alegre</strong></p>
<p>A Infraero anunciou que já foram iniciadas as obras de alargamento e prolongamento da pista de pouso do Aeroporto Internacional Salgado Filho, de Porto Alegre (RS). O projeto prevê o completo recapeamento asfáltico da pista, hoje medindo 2280 X 42 metros, incluirá também a ampliação de sua largura para 45 m e sua extensão até 3200 m. Mas o termino da obra está marcado para 2010, já que exigirá a desapropriação de moradores nas extremidades da pista. Está igualmente prevista a revisão do balizamento noturno e a capacitação do aeroporto com um ILS categoria II, que reduzirá os períodos de interrupção de funcionamento do aeroporto pelas más condições meteorológicas.</p>

<p><strong>Flaperons para o 777</strong></p>
<p>A HAL &#8211; Hindustan Aeronautics, foi contratada pela Boeing para fabricar flaperons de materiais compostos para os jatos B.777. A fabricação de componentes para esses itens será feita nas instalações de Bangalore, começando nos próximos anos.</p>

<p>A Northrop Grumman está publicamente acusando a Força Aérea dos Estados Unidos de hesitação e mudanças ilógicas nas especificações da concorrência para a escolha de um avião tanque/cargueiro para suceder seus KC-135. O que está em jogo é um programa de US$ 35 bilhões, que a mesma Grumman tinha ganho na concorrência original com uma versão modificada do Airbus A330. Essa escolha foi depois anulada por pressão da Boeing, que volta a pressionar para novas alterações nos termos contratuais. Agora a USAF quer repagar apenas 1% a mais no valor da encomenda se os novos aviões escolhidos superarem as especificações técnicas do velho KC-135.</p>

<p><strong>Venezuela recebe jatos chineses</strong></p>
<p>Foi confirmado em Caracas que os primeiros seis exemplares de uma encomenda de 18 aviões chineses Haig K-8 serão entregues à Força Aérea da Venezuela a partir de janeiro do ano que vem. Seus pilotos já receberam treinamento em Nanchang, na China. Todos os 18 aparelhos encomendados serão entregues em 2010.</p>

<p>A LAN foi nomeada a companhia aérea oficial do Rally Dakar Argentina &#8211; Chile 2010, que acontece de 1º a 17 de janeiro próximo. Considerado o mais famoso e difícil rali do mundo, terá como primeiro grande obstáculo a chegada ao Chile, através da Cordilheira dos Andes; e como destaque desta edição, a longa permanência no deserto de Atacama, o grande ápice do percurso de 9 mil quilômetros. Durante todo o período da realização do Rally Dakar Argentina &#8211; Chile 2010, a marca LAN estará em expressiva evidência no mundo. Serão 1.153 horas de transmissão, feitas por 78 emissoras para 189 países.</p>

<p>Bmi (British Midland Airways) (East Midlands and London Heathrow) will return its Airbus A330-200s and will end its long-haul services in an attempt to reduce its losses. The company will cut 600 jobs, reduce its fleet by nine aircraft and cut seven routes (including Tel Aviv and Kiev).</p>

<p>A empresa inglesa BMI anunciou que fará cortes em sua frota, operações e em seu staff em um esforço dramático para voltar e ser rentável.</p>
<p>A aérea, que agora é da Lufthansa, cortará aproximadamente 600 de seus 4.470 cargos conforme diminuir suas operações. A BMI também está retirando de serviço 9 de seus 39 aviões e deixará de operar em várias rotas não rentáveis. Com o retorno de dois A330-200 ao operador de leasing, a empresa definitivamente deixa de operar em rotas de longo curso, com exceção de alguns poucos voos para o Oriente Médio.</p>
<p>A BMI disse que pretende focar em “manter sua rede de operações (BMI e BMI Regional) e serviços no Reino Unido e Irlanda, Europa e adjacências, Oriente Médio e Arábia Saudita.” A companhia acredita que “uma vez estabilizados os negócios, a empresa poderá crescer novamente após a melhora da economia, quando a demanda de mercado justificar a expansão.”</p>
<p>A redução de frota de nove aeronaves será completada na primeira metade de 2010. A BMI planeja vender três jatos ERJ-145 da Embraer, e retornará dois de seus três A330 para o operador de leasing. Os serviços médios-longos serão operados por um A330-200, um Boeing 757-200 e a frota de A321.</p>
<p>A BMI deixará de voar entre Heathrow e Bruxelas, Tel Aviv, Kiev e Aleppo em janeiro de 2010, enquanto os serviços para Amsterdam serão suspensos em março do mesmo ano. Serviços sazonais para Veneza e Palma não serão reiniciados no próximo verão.</p>
<p>A empresa apresentou um grande prejuízo de 155 milhões de Libras com vendas de 1.05 bilhões de Libras em 2008, e a Lufthansa concordou em fornecer auxílio para que a BMI continue voando em longo prazo. A empresa alemã está procurando por ofertas para vender a BMI, mas acredita-se que a mesma só ocorrerá com a recuperação do mercado, quando a BMI tiver um maior valor de mercado.</p>

<p>A Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), companhia aérea nacional do Nepal, está modernizando sua frota internacional com uma A330-200 de corpo largo e uma A320 de corredor único. As novas aeronaves farão voos internacionais para o Japão e darão início a uma inédita conexão de voos diretos entre o Nepal e a Europa. O memorando de entendimento (Memorandum of Understanding) foi formalizado durante a Dubai Airshow.</p>
<p>A A330-200, configurada em duas classes de passageiros, voará as rotas da Europa e Norte da Ásia e também ajudará no desenvolvimento da indústria de turismo do Nepal, especialmente durante a época da campanha “Visite o Nepal 2011”, que visa atrair turistas estrangeiros.</p>
<p>“O Nepal é muito conhecido por oferecer uma vasta gama de atividades de lazer, cultura e ao ar livre. Temos visto um tremendo crescimento no turismo nos últimos anos e queremos aproveitar as características exclusivas de desempenho e autonomia de voo da A330 para oferecer serviços diretos para os nossos mercados distantes mais importantes, e a eficiência do A320 para desenvolver novos mercados”, disse Sugat Ratna Kansakar, Presidente Executivo da Nepal Airlines. As A320 com duas classes de passageiros serão designados às rotas regionais e operarão na região do Oriente Médio e também do Sudeste da Ásia.</p>
<p>“As aeronaves A330 e A320 abrirão as portas do Nepal para o mundo. Além de ser um meio de sobrevivência, a aviação é um importante fator econômico para a prosperidade de um país incrustado no meio das montanhas como o Nepal. Esses modelos são os mais apropriados e mais eco-eficientes para cumprir essa tarefa e estamos muito felizes por embarcar nessa nova parceria.”, disse Johns Leahy, COO da Divisão de Clientes da Airbus.</p>

The airline will operate daily on both routes using an Airbus A319 configured with 144 Economy Class seats on a Jakarta-Singapore-Semarang-Singapore-Jakarta routing.</p>

<p>Flight 7P 861 departs Jakarta at 0700 hrs, arriving in Singapore at 0935 hrs. The return flight, 7P 862, takes off from Changi International Airport at 1650 hrs and lands back at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 1720 hrs.</p>

<p>Together with other international carriers, 12 airlines now fly between Singapore and Jakarta with over 450 scheduled flights each week.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Semarang-Singapore</span></p>
<p>From Semarang, flight 7P 863 departs at 1240 hrs, arriving in Singapore at 1540 hrs. The inbound flight, 7P 864, takes off at 1035 hrs from Changi International Airport, landing in Achmad Yani International Airport at 1140 hrs.</p>

<p>Batavia Air is the only operator to fly between Singapore and Semarang.</p>

<p>The latest Indonesian airline to operate passenger services in Singapore,  joining Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia AirAsia, Lion Air and Sriwijaya Air, Batavia Air operates a fleet of 38 aircraft on routes within Indonesia and selected international services to Guangzhou and Kuching. The airline plans to introduce flights to the Saudi city of Jeddah with Airbus A330-200 aircraft.</p>

<p>Gulf Air (Bahrain) has decided to radically change its business plan. In the future it will focus on its short-haul markets. This will also radically affect what the airline has on order. The flag carrier has 20 Airbus A330-300s and 24 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners on order. These orders are expected to be modified. In addition Gulf Air will sell five Airbus A340-300s.</p>

<p>A Comlux encomendou seu terceiro jato corporativo da Airbus, aumentando para dez o número total de pedidos da companhia para esse tipo de aeronave: 4 A318s, 3 Airbus ACJ, 2 A320 Prestige e um A330-200 Prestige, tornando-se também a maior cliente da Família Corporative Jets (ACJ). Algumas das aeronaves da Comlux são utilizadas por clientes privados enquanto outras, como as recém-encomendadas, serão operadas em voos charter VIP.</p>
<p>“Com essa aquisição, a Fly Comlux confirma sua posição de liderança no mercado de charters de luxo”, informa Richard Gaona, Presidente e CEO do Grupo de Aviação Comlux. “Essa nova aeronave será equipado com motores CFM56-5 International e adaptada, em nosso centro de Indianápolis, com uma cabine projetada pela Comlux Creatives. Essa aeronave reforça nossa estratégia global de participação em quase todos os segmentos de negócios de aviação”, acrescenta. O jato da Comlux para voos charter VVIP está em exposição na feira de aviação de Dubai.</p>
