NEW DELHI: Nupur Talwar, mother of slain Noida school girl Aarushi, on Monday moved the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) seeking restriction on filmmakers from making movies or television serials on her daughter’s murder.

Talwar on Monday met Chairperson of NCPCR Shanta Sinha and filed an appeal to bar filmmakers from making film or tele serial on the incident.

Women and Child Development Minister Renuka Chowdhary also termed such attempts by filmmakers as “unfortunate”.

“This is very insensitive towards a minor. It is unfair to sensationalise the matter like making film and tele serials on the issue. The case is pending for further investigation and using the subject for anything like this is uncalled for,” Chowdhary said.

“The whole situation is such that everyone should restrict themselves to talk about it unless there is some breakthrough in the case. It is inappropriate to talk about it when the things have only reached halfway,” said the minister.

The minister has decided to take up the matter with the Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi.

“Under the Juvenile Justice Act, we will take the matter with I&B ministry. We would ensure that the ministry looks into the matter and no one makes a film or a tele serial on the issue,” she said.

Obviously there are far more important matters to attend to when your daughter is murdered.

Dr.Malini had conducted psycho-analysis test on Dr.Talwar yesterday.CBI has had a talk with her.What went on in their meeting is yet to be disclosed.

Forensic medicine is the application of knowledge of medical science and scientific principles for the investigation of crime to assist law enforcement agencies.It usually involves as samples biological material e.g. blood, saliva, etc.Proper results can be obtained provided the samples have not been tampered with or undergone degradation due to long exposure to the environment.The press is therefore questioning the CBI’s stress on forensic tests at this moment after such a huge time of almost a month.The results of the forensic test would therefore not be a strong proof as the crime scene was open to one and all since the victims were found dead, instead of being made a restricted area only for the investigators.

This case has proved to be one of India’s biggest murder mystery, with every new revelation bringing in more questions to be solved.As correctly titled in one of the news channels “Us Raat ka Subaah Nahi”.

The Noida police did not make use of any scientific methods during their investigation and even this knife went out of their purview somewhat surprisingly, even though Krishna and family had clearly stated that they own such a knife.Krishna’s family had however stated that such a knife is available in all Nepali households and the one they have is not sharp enough to be used in a murder. On the other hand , the CBI has a strong belief that more than one weapon might have been used in the murder one of them being a blunt knife- the latter which could also have been used to hit the vicims 2-3 times leading to their unconsciousness.

Meanwhile the CBI in the process of investigation is doing another search of the Talwar house in Noida even breaking open the roof top drain pipes.However latest news reports indicate that nothing conclusive has been found. Forensic tests also will be conducted on Krishna’s belongings.

The servant of Durrani Family-Rajkumar is currently being interrogated after his mobile phone was seized yesterday night by the CBI.When asked whether Rajkumar was taken by CBI and whether he is suspected in the murder, Dr.Durrani bluntly said that he is not aware of anything.There seems to be a lot of loopholes in the investigation done by the Noida police.With a lot of crucial eveidence already being cleared up, intentionally or intentionally which still remains to be seen, the CBI has taken up a difficult task.

The Durrani’s, Nupur Talwar, Dinesh Talwar and some neighbours of the Talwar’s are suspected of having some clue about the murderer. It may well be stated here that Rajesh Talwar has been lodged in Dasna jail since last month as a suspect in this sensational murder case.

Theses turns have proved to be the perfect script for the television creative artists, who seriously lack some talent. They are very good at one thing, the art of copying. the thing they do very well. if not hollywood, it is reality. After all it is their inspiration. I have no problem with that. It is the insensitivity with which this sensitive subject has been approached. They have pointed fingers at the character of the 14 year old victim (Aarushi). They have left no stone unturned to capture their audience and make more money. You have to make money, make it, talk about aarushi, but please don’t assassinate her image.Don’t instill fear in the minds of school going children and for heaven sake don’t create something non-existent. The one thing, which made me very upset was the “MMS” which was aired on “India” new channel. The channel now faces temporary ban. it is my appeal to all those who are reading this to discourage such talks.

Forget the weather, the IMD remains a bigger enigma in India.

The effect of this on the victim and particularly their family members is like being murdered many times over.

The media along with the investigating police in case of Aarushi kept jumping the gun to come out with their conclusions at discovery of any single new evidence. It started with the naming of the domestic help, Hemraj, as the prime suspect. Later when he was found dead at the same premises, they were quick to come up with the theory of honor killing. The yawning gap between the culture of the front row gainers of the economic boom and the class who have been left behind, shows up in such incidents. The strata of the society to which Aarushi belongs, the life of a teenager, and whats acceptable for them raises eyebrows in others. The police officers of Noida could not fathom the acceptable relationship between the teenage daughter and the servant, the fact that she could confide in him was something alien for them. So they termed it illicit and were quick to conclude it as honor killing.

In case of Neeraj Grover, the media executive who was killed by his friend and her boyfriend. The media went into hyper mode to dish out the gory details of the killing in as graphic nature as possible. The way the background of all three involved in the case, the victim and the two accused were discussed in minutest detail and conclusions made pertaining to their characters, again shows the media’s zeal to cover the violent crime.

This phenomenon is not restricted to just India. The same pattern can be seen in the case of Josef Fritzl, from Austria. The media in US, the mecca of marketing is miles ahead even in this field. The way it covers incidents, from street mugging to university killing sprees, and the victims of terror attacks, is nothing short of voyeurism. And all this is done by peddling the incidents to cater to the market of fear. i am sure it is same in Japan, where the media will now go into overdrive to cover the various aspects of Tomohiro Kato in minutest detail, and get to some conclusion about the possible triggers for his stabbing spree.

Why does media do it? cause they can sell it. We as a mass are always ready to live under fear. We are afraid of terror attacks, of being victims of calamities, of being killed by some lunatic on a spree. Or worst still, some one whom we know and trust. This perennial habit of the public to be in fear has created a market of a huge size. This market is the one which the media is targeting and have been delivering rather successfully. So as long as we are hungry for the fear, the media will keep digging into each case and dish out every possible details.

Till then…. keep watching the voyeuristic gloating, hoping that we as individual don’t end up being the victim of this voyeurism.

Probably Police made this public to convince the public there were some tension between Talwar and Arushi and Police wanted to prove that they are on right track by focusing on social behaviour of Aarushi Talwar. The Police are doing their job in going through the transcripts to find evidence for the murder, but it is very discheartening that they are making these email transcripts public.

What police are gaining by targeting at character of Arushi who is already dead and can not defend herself. Are these police mature enough to understand the sensitiveness of the issue. Rather then collecting some more evidences, searching for lost mobiles and murder weapon, why they are interested in publicising the emails and prove that Aarushi’s Character was loose.

It is very early to know Arushi’s character, but in no way none of us have right to make any comments on her character. Instead of standing as an example of upholding the character of a girl, the police themselves are behaving like fools. Even if  they had found out something about her character, they should have guarded those information.

It is quite normal that parents and children to have disagreement on so many issues and it happens in every family. That doesn’t mean one should create stories over the email transcript to spoil the character of a dead soul. Arushi was murdered already once, let us not murder her again.

I have decided not to put the email transcript on this site. I do not want to join the brigade of immature evils who do not understand the basic common sense. Arushi is dead now and we need to join to give justice to her.

Women and Child Development Minister Renuka Chowdhury expressed her “anguish and pain” over Mayawati’s statement that the “Congress party has been politicising the Aarushi murder case on the pretext of showing sensitivity to the bereaved families.”

“My reaction is that of great sadness. How sad it is that a woman chief minister thinks that a young girl’s life is equal to politics. However, my reaction to the case comes as a mother, out of great pain and anguish. I only wish that Mayawati would know what it is to feel like that,” Chowdhury said while reacting to Mayawati’s remarks earlier Thursday favouring a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into Aarushi’s murder.

Mayawati said she would be writing to the centre on this. However, even before the letter could be sent, Minister of State for Home Shriprakash Jaiswal said the case was not “fit” for the CBI.

“The Aarushi murder case is not fit for a CBI enquiry. The Uttar Pradesh special task force is already probing the matter,” he said in New Delhi

Mayawati, in a statement read out in Lucknow Thursday, flayed Chowdhury for “meddling” in the case and for issuing “irresponsible statements.”

“They should stop petty politics in a matter that is so serious and sensitive,” the chief minister maintained.

“Why is Mayawati so concerned about this case instead of worrying about law and order?” Chowdhury retorted.

“She should be seeking answers from the Noida police. Is she trying to say that a police officer can get away with saying that the girl was ‘as characterless as her father’?” the minister asked.

“Is this a political yardstick with which we measure public domain, decency and human values?” wondered the angry minister.

Aarushi, a 15-year-old student of Delhi Public School (Noida) was found dead May 16 with her throat slit and multiple stab injuries on her face, chest and neck. The family’s domestic help, 45-year-old Hemraj, who the police initially named as the killer, was also found murdered on the terrace of the house the next day.

Aarushi’s dentist father Rajesh Talwar was arrested May 23 for the murders.

Chowdhury had May 27 accused the Uttar Pradesh police of “insensitivity” in its handling of the case and for making statements that maligned the teenager.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights that comes under Chowdhury’s ministry, has also written to the Uttar Pradesh government expressing its anguish over the “derogatory” language used by Inspector General (Meerut range) Gurdarshan Singh at a press conference May 23, who stated that Talwar had killed Aarushi because he objected to her closeness to Hemraj.

Lawyers of the Gautam Budha Nagar Bar Association, who were on strike in support of the Gujjar agitation, did not allow Talwar’s advocates to argue the case. Talwar himself pleaded his case.

Around 12.08 pm, four vehicles carrying prisoners from the Dasna jail, including Talwar, reached the Noida Phase II court. The drivers of the vehicles said they had started at 9.40 a.m. from the jail but due to traffic jams on the national highway near Lal Kuan, they were delayed by an hour.

Before Talwar was taken to the CJM’s court, the Noida Police led by SP (city) AK Tripathi asked the media to move out of the court complex. He said only advocates of Talwar’s family could enter.

When proceedings started, bar association members manhandled Talwar’s relatives and his advocate Mahinder Pratap Singh.

After the melee, CJM AK Singh heard the prosecution officer and Talwar and sent him on police remand for three days. A lawyer will be there with Talwar during the interrogation period.

Senior prosecution officer PC Srivastava said, “It was argued that Rajesh Talwar had lodged an FIR against Hemraj that he had murdered his daughter Arushi and after committing the crime ran away. After one day, the body of Hemraj was found lying on the terrace, which was locked. When police went to the spot, they recovered the dead body of Hemraj in the absence of the Talwars.”

“Rajesh and his wife had gone to Haridwar to immerse her ashes in the Ganga,” said Srivastava.

Srivastava said when they came back, the police interrogated Rajesh Talwar, who confessed that he had killed his daughter and Hemraj. “He also confessed that he had illicit relations with Dr Anita Durrani. He said Aarushi was threatening to expose the relation before her grandparents,” he said.

Earlier, Talwar moved an adjournment application, seeking another date for hearing his plea because of the lawyers’ strike. He said he was innocent and had not confessed anything.

Talwar’s advocate Mahinder Pratap Singh said, “I had requested the bar association to allow me to appear for Talwar but they rejected my request. It was then decided that the adjournment application would be moved by Rajesh Talwar himself.”

Noida twin murders – Timeline

The course of investigation took several turns in the gruesome murder of teenaged Aarushi Talwar – a class IX student of Delhi Public School, Noida. The suspense continued until the arrest of her doctor parents Friday along with another doctor friend. Here is a chronology of the incident and the case investigation —

May 16:

* Fourteen-year-old Delhi Public School student Aarushi Talwar found dead.
* Missing domestic help Hemraj declared main suspect.
* Senior SP A Satish Ganesh stated that the servant must have murdered in an inebriated state and fled.

May 17:

* Hemraj, the main suspect, was accused as the culprit in the FIR lodged by father Rajesh Talwar.
* The help was later found dead on the house’s terrace after police broke open the locked door.
* Special task force (STF) joins the probe.
* SP (City) Mishra made statement that surgical equipment was used in the murders and the killer knew the house well.
* Police seek call details of the mobile phones of Aarushi and Hemraj.

May 19:

* SP (City) Mishra was transferred along with the SHO of Sector-20 police station Dataram Nauneria.
* SSP Ganesh said that it was clear that the murderer had access to all parts of the house.

May 20:

* Former family help Vishnu Thapa was suspected in the case, as reported from the office of state’s Additional Director General of Police Brij Lal.
* SSP Ganesh said that Vishnu’s whereabouts were not known.
* Aarushi’s parents were questioned for several hours.
* Later in the day, SSP Ganesh claimed the case will be cracked within 24 hours.

May 21:

* Claiming that the police had almost cracked the case, SSP Ganesh said that the twin murders were possibly “honour killing”.
* Aarushi’s friend Anmol, whom she had talked to before being killed, was questioned by the police for hours.

* Talwars arrested along with another doctor Anita Durrani; their houses raided.

Police clueless

With the Noida double murder case proving to be a tough nut to crack, five days after the sensational killing of the teenaged school girl Aarushi Talwar and the family’s domestic help Hemraj, the police have now pinned their hopes on call details of the missing mobile phones of the deceased for reaching any conclusion.

Additional Director-General of Police (Law and Order and Special Task Force) Brij Lal said here on Tuesday that the phone call details were being examined by the Noida police and the Special Task Force but nothing definite had emerged so far. The mobile phones remain untraced, he added.

Mr. Lal said the case had not been worked out so far and no arrests had been made though over a dozen persons, including Aarushi’s parents and close relatives, had been interrogated by the police. He ruled out the possibility of pressure being applied on the investigating teams in a bid to hush up the case considering that it involved a family belonging to the affluent upper middle class section of society.He said Aarushi’s autopsy report showed presence of semi-digested food in her stomach at the time of her murder on the night of May 15. The post-mortem report of Hemraj showed the presence of liquid in his stomach when he was murdered, apparently the same night, he added.

Mr. Lal said Hemraj’s viscera had been sent for forensic examination to find out whether the liquid was some intoxicant or liquor, adding that Aarushi’s viscera had also been sent for medical examination. The forensic report is awaited.

First, of course is the media. There are some news channels (which I wouldn’t want to name here) which always look for sensationalizing incidents and news. Although, I sincerely feel sorry for the murdered, I think there are other more imperative things in the world, to be covered. Understood that you are trying to illustrate the state of cities and do a reality-check on our safety. But, for this news item to cover Page 1,2,5,12,13 and engage 14 hours of air time for a week looks ridiculous, to say the least.

You can’t run a news channel just for TRP ratings. There are innumerable farmer deaths, inflation, price rise, deaths due to starvation, etc. Don’t they merit the same attention as this “double murder”? Only ONE answer. Commercialization of news. I feel terribly sorry for one of the leading newspapers (your guess) of India, which unfortunately only has gossipmongers rather than journalists. While other leading dailies such as The Hindu and The Indian Express, carry news of importance as their first news, these dailies’ headlines consists of rain in the city, instances of sex, double murder, new stadium being built, the BRT corridor and other news items which don’t even figure in Page 4 or 5 of The Hindu and The Indian Express.

Following the media, is our police force. They went ahead and told the media new names of the actual murderer every other day. Incomplete investigation, pressure from the media (yeah..media again) have been the rationale for such statements from people holding responsible positions. Now, what this does is, cause more insecurity to people. On the one hand you know the society is getting increasingly “blood-thirsty” and on the other you have a reckless police force. The comments on the doctor-father (reported to have had an affair with his colleague) and the daughter (reported to have had an affair with the murdered servant) – sounds complex eh?? –  vindicates my stand. No proof – Plain loose talk. Again, purely due to the pressure of solving the case, due to the huge media attention that this news item got.

So, please guys, stop commercializing everything you lay your hands on. Of course money and profits are what is needed for a company to succeed, but have some common sense and put yourself on an educated reader/listener’s shoe! Make people educated and aware by giving the right ingredients. Otherwise we would see a lot more half-solved cases, more insecurity and ‘lesser’ educated people in the future.

There was a time when you would make it purely on the basis of hard work and talent. Now, you reach the top you have to be willing to pull someone else down. Life has become all about money and careers and you are judged only on those parameters. Who needs friends and families? As long as I am successful in my professional life, my personal life can go down the drain. Are you surprised then with the lonely existences most people live and the rising divorce rates in the country?

I, for one, refuse to allow any one aspect of my life to control me. I want it all. My reason is simple…of what use are all the joys and successes in life if you have no one to share it with? It’s tough to make and sustain long-lasting relationships. Genuine friends are hard to find and even more difficult to replace. But it is only in the company of family and friends can life truly be said to be meaningful.

And I have to hope that a few people out there agree with me. If not, the Neeraj and Aarushi murder cases will soon become the norm rather than the exception. With no ethics and a degrading value system, what else can we expect?

The police name the domestic help hemraj as the prime suspect on the day they discovered the body of 14 yr AARUSHI of D.P.S noida. But their approach towards the case was so absurd that they didnt look at the roof where the body of the domestic help was lying unattended for the whole day. Very strange and inhumane.

This lead to a hell lot of media uproar slamming the police for its casual attitude towards the case.And the media was very right in pointing fingers at the police, how can they leave out such vital clues.But i feel they police are also so used to these daily murders that it has became a routine affair for them, thus being casual is no surprise.

Any how, after a lot of media scrutiny and loathe,they finally arrested a person who they claim to be the culprit. It was DR. RAJESH TALWAR, the father of the slain daughter. The whole country was in shock including me.

The doctor is said to be a very nice man who had patients of high repute. It was never expected that he would stoop to such a low level. The police held a press conference on the day they arrested the father. The IG of Meerut range was addressing the conference.

The poor man didnt even know the name of the girl who was killed. He was repeatedly calling her Shruti, so how can u trust these investigations. Moreover there were 3 press conferences that day by 3 top officials of police departments, and they all gave a completely different version to the story. Its so shameful to see how indifferent the police forces off our country
striving to became a developed nation are….

And in all this spare a thought for the poor mother of AARUSHI. Her life is over. She has lost her daughter and now here husband is a accused. The striking this is that she was sleeping with here husband the day of the murder and she didnt hear anything. I believe her completely since its very hard to imagine a mother sitting quietly when here husband is murdering her own daughter.

And i truly support the farther as well, its unimaginable that and educated doctor of such high repute can do such a thing.The police must get its act right and catch the real culprits.

The media is very strong now, and such lack luster work wont be left unnoticed. So its very important that the police forces take each and every case very seriously and catch the real murderers….

What else can I say when the entire country is talking about the Aarushi and Neeraj murder cases? A father killing his only daughter! I remember the day the news broke that Rajesh Talwar had murdered his daughter. My father’s first reaction was that such a scenario is impossible. Later, when the gory details spilled, he looked in my direction and asked, “Do you think a father can kill his child?” When he realized that my answer would be an emphatic yes, he looked crestfallen. The sacred bond of unrivalled trust that a father and daughter share had just taken a beating.

This isn’t to say that all fathers are evil. It’s just that with values eroding daily it is becoming very difficult to sustain a pure relationship based on trust. The big, bad world is taking over our lives and our last security blanket was the relationship we shared with our parents. Now that too has come under the scanner.

I remember that while growing up my parents never let me have a sleepover at a friend’s place. It’s not that they felt that my friends grew up on the wrong side of the road. They didn’t trust the outside world. Now imagine the scenario if mothers have to keep children safe from their own fathers!! How does one handle this situation?

I really hope that Rajesh does turn out to be a victim rather than the accused. I hope it for all fathers and daughters around the world. The alternative scenario is too scary to even consider.

Aarushi (Noida) and Elisabeth Fritzl (Austria) got the worst possible in)human treatment from none other than their own father. And here is another one. Which one is worse – murder of a 14 year old? or 24 years of rape? Neha Vish writes that there is nothing more to it – In sum, a fourteen year old kid is dead, she says. Do I agree? Yes and No! Yes, the conclusion of the moment is that someone suffered.

No, because there are deeper repercussions and realizations associated with these two incidents. Its a criminal idea that many will harbor from now on. People do such things because our law and order gives them hope that they will get away with it. Mahatma Gandhi said – an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind. I say, I don’t want an eye for an eye here. I want something worse, something more horrific. Its a precedent which should not be allowed to repeat itself. Its an attack on the first fundamental right of “living freely”, and the perpetrators of such heinous crime should not be given such simple punishments as a death sentence or life imprisonment. They should be made to go through tortures that scares the daylight out of any living being. These people should be made the toys of sadistic pleasure to be derived by all. The society should be allowed to suggest tortures to be administered on such jerks. They should not just be made aware of their crime and left alone to feel remorseful about it. They should be made to realize the horrors that made someone else live through.

And yes – I am enraged at the thought that people give themselves the liberty to think of such heinous crimes.

Few more days have passed and I am regularly reading articles on this case. I was teary eyed when I read about Aarushi in her facebook group- RIP Aarushi. A girl who was about to celebrate her birthday on the 25th May in a plush pub in Noida. What intrigues me and that too in a negative way is the manner in which an innocent persona of a 14 year old girl is tarnished by the UP Police? Did they had any proof to support behind the murder motive that they have been advertising in media? Linking a smart mature 14 year old girl to her 45 year old domestic servant shouldn’t have been made public without any strong proof. I was so deeply anguished when I heard reports and comments about the phrase ‘objectionable’? What is the definition of objectionable? Even if a girl is found hugging anybody- a friend even then also she is straight away seen as of low character? What century are we living in? Its the same media, same moral police who bans people from celebrating V-day by vandalizing Archie Galleries? Its the same UP Police that takes money from young couples if they are found walking in hand in hand in parks?Tarnishing any female’s image is quickest way the police or the law has ever had. How can we forget Jessica Lal? But this case actually made me angry for its the question of honor of a very young girl. Reading about her profile and community details and observing an average 14 year old- I can say that this isn’t the case. Aarushi is a victim of upper middle class busy parents- who dotingly declare their love by pampering their kids by giving them laptops, iPODs and high tech mobiles but not enough time. She represents the cool cream of school life with different lingos and different mindset. Another important issue is the manner in which her classmate’s name has been openly published in newspapers. Did they ever care about the stress and rambling that poor kid must be going through right now (Statistics are showing that leading psychiatrists are getting calls from young children after this case )?

On what basis is the police claiming that the case has been cracked-when its current members weren’t even able to locate the old servant’s body on the same house’s terrace????? What kind of investigation team was there? A retired UP Police officer asked to open the terrace for investigation when few hours earlier the police had declared a paltry sum of Rs.20,000 for any information (should now be given to the retired officer ??????). Well how can the Talwars and the common public trust this police- the same guys behind the massacre in the Nithari? The Pandher guy is Scott free enjoying his foreign liquor with paid escort service and nibbling on human flesh somewhere out there? There are so so many loopholes yet to be cracked- did the father actually killed his daughter? If yes, why the mother is still supporting him? Did the father- mother actually conspired to kill their only child, if yes then why????????????????? How did the sotry of affair between the Talwar and Durrani brew up and it is not still a possibility?Where are the murder weapons? Why the police is still not able to trace the cell phones of both deceased? Why the police came out with a press conference without solid proofs? Why Aarushi’s friends name are given to the media?

There are so many whys and no answers. Poor Aarushi wouldn’t have imgined this kind of gift and label of being characterless at age 15 in her dreams. She has hope because few women organization have come up actively saying its wrong to tarnish her image without any iota of proof/truth.

I am so disturbed and anguished with the whole way this case is shaping up. The family and friends are not being even given time to mourn the demise of a young chirpy vivacious girl who is thank god no more to hear such atrocities about her now that she has gone.

May her soul finds peace and reborns somewhere where sanity still prevails!
