A factor that is driving the trend towards automating the sales department is the extent to which speed has become a strategic advantage in the selling process. Once, it was acceptable for salespeople to promise to get back to customers with answers to questions. Increasingly, those salespeople are finding that by the time they get back to their customers with the necessary information, the sales opportunity has evaporated. The ability to respond to customers quickly is crucial to success, and the tolerances are narrower than ever before.

Similarly, the ability to compress the sales order cycle is becoming an extremely significant factor in a competitive situation. Your customers, who are under the same competitive pressures as you, are placing more and more emphasis on increased cash flow and reduced inventories. Reducing your sales order cycle from four days to two can make an important and measurable difference, certainly enough of a difference to determine whether or not you get the order.

Ram is working in a software company.

He developed a left shoulder back pain. I asked him whether he has any problem in the office. He replied that he has no role in the office and therefore, he is not working to his satisfaction.

The Message from his body is, “Because of your lack of interest, your contribution is less in the office. You are giving less than you are receiving. If you continue to do so, in the future you will get lesser appreciation. There may be a cut in the salary too. Even if you find a new job you will be paid less there. If you don’t want these things to happen then give 100% of your efforts”. Otherwise your receiving will become lesser and lesser.

I asked him to affirm ‘I choose to find ways to give 100%. I stop resisting the present job. I accept it totally’.

Note

The moment he committed, the body pain was reduced. Please note that there is no right or wrong here!

I just wanted to quickly share a little realization I had yesterday… So I’m in this Ital

I just wanted to quickly share a little realization I had yesterday…

So I’m in this Italian cafe, looking forward to having a nice cappuccino & a sweet biscuit to accompany. But which biscuit do I choose? Ah, the conflict of decisions, we are all faced with having to make choices and sometimes the prospect of making the wrong choice can be immobilizing – however big or small the potential effect of that decision may be.

My initial preference was a jam drop shortbread cookie…but then I settled on the chocolate biscotti…only to spend the whole cafe experience wishing I had gone with the jam drop cookie. By the time all was gone I found myself feeling frustrated and unsatisfied.

Frustrated that I hadn’t enjoyed the treat mindfully.

Unsatisfied because I felt that I would have enjoyed the jam drop more.

So in feeling this discontentment I took a moment to explore the situation a little more…

“How can I avoid this sensation in the future?”

I’ve been here before. A small example, but relevant nonetheless…

Last time I came to the conclusion that I should always just go with my initial preference. Yet obviously I ignored that advice – as here I am. So what more is there to learn?

I thought about the people who inspire to be a better person. Particularly this ‘loony’ yogi character I met in the park the other day. What would he do?

“Accept his choice and enjoy whatever he has for what it is – enough”. Don’t you just love it when a suitable answer magically joins your previously confused consciousness?

“The ideal isn’t to make the right choice, but to accept and be content with the choice that you make. Stop weighing up the options and just enjoy the chosen possibility for what it is.”

I wanted to share this because I am proud – not so much of the answer itself – but of the thought process behind it. I considered what I had already learnt in the past from similar situations – but built on it. That’s progress.

Too often do I just settle for things as being a result of a mistake, rather than having learnt enough from the previous experience.

When you find yourself in the same state over again there is more to learn.

ac⋅cept
6. to accommodate or reconcile oneself to: to accept the situation.
7. to regard as true or sound; believe: to accept a claim; to accept Catholicism.
8. to regard as normal, suitable, or usual.
www.dictionary.com

I’ve been tossing this word around in my head a whole lot lately. Somewhere along the way, through either conversations with my husband and friends or bad pop-pysch books I read, I got stuck in my head that the way to happiness is through acceptance. I just need to accept that this is where we live. I just need to accept that we have a lot of debt. I just need to accept that my husband works bad, long hours. So if I accept these facts. . .reconcile myself to these situations, regard them to be true, regard them to be normal or usual, then why does it make me feel more miserable?

Is acceptance the catalyst for change? For me, it doesn’t seem to be. I don’t think I have to accept and then ignore how I feel, right? But then, by acknowledging how I feel about these facts or situations, I am not really accepting them, right? Am I talking in circles? Does this make sense? Perhaps I’m not thinking this through correctly. Maybe I should not use “accept” singularly. Perhaps I can “accept” the situation; “acknowledge” how I feel; then “act” to correct the situation? Yeah, yeah. I like the sound of that; that sounds like something I may have heard in therapy.

Wish me luck on that “act” part.

Notícia do site Whiplash:

KKKKKKKKK

I was inspired this morning by a blog at budgetsaresexy.com regarding whether or not to accept a gif

I was inspired this morning by a blog at budgetsaresexy.com regarding whether or not to accept a gift of a car by a relative (for more details, please see the blog posting). But in general terms, a gift, or charity if you want to call it that, should almost always be viewed in the best of terms.

According to the freedictonary.com charity is defined in some of the following ways:

char•i•ty (ch r -t )
n. pl.
• Something given to help the needy; alms.
• Benevolence or generosity toward others or toward humanity.
• Indulgence or forbearance in judging others. See Synonyms at mercy.
• Charity Christianity The theological virtue defined as love directed first toward God but also toward oneself and one’s neighbors as objects of God’s love.
• Voluntary activity of or disposition towards donating money, property, or services to the needy or for general social betterment. — philanthropic, adj.
• Kindness (especially in giving money to poor people)

In the above mentioned blog, there was a concern that by accepting the gift, there would be an implied obligation that something was owed. Now correct me if I am wrong but if you give something with an expectation of being repaid or owed, than it is not a gift at all. Instead, this implies your really ‘selling’ or ‘trading’ it in exchange for something else. That is not what I mean when I refer to gifts or charity.

Charitable gifts are those given with no expectations in return. They are a show of generosity and concern where the betterment of someone else is truly at the heart of the giving. In these cases, we should not let pride get in the way. We live in tough economic times and everyone can use a helping hand in one form or another.

I know this sounds like the “pay it forward” concept but if someone gives you a gift that you cannot afford or that will help ease a burden in some way, why not accept it? Then when you are able, either return the favor or do something similar for someone else who is in need. The world could do with a few more expressions of kindness and generosity, and giving to others does your own heart a tremendous amount of good. Besides, there are many far less fortunate people who are desperately in need, yet they have no one to give them gifts.

In the cases where someone offers you something with expectations in return, then simply give them back the gift. But only if you are sure those are their intentions. Call me an occasional optimist but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt until they prove otherwise.

This time it’s different. I didn’t mean to say goodbye. God is a door toward which the wind takes us. Open it. He is a gate. Beyond the gate another gate until you reach the last. Finally, when you least need it, the thing you couldn’t have asked for comes. It feels strange now to accept it. To look the man in the face and say, God bless. I knew it was a wound. Still, custom makes men say terrible things. But not so when he wants to be useful. Then he is dangerous. Then he might offer his life. It might have been a gift if I were able to accept it. Thank you. Thank you. And then, Goodbye. When I was young I used to sing a song about forgiveness. Now I want to know the other word for paradise.

As of today, I have 4,483 songs on my iPod. I use it everywhere I go – at my desk, in the gym

As of today, I have 4,483 songs on my iPod. I use it everywhere I go – at my desk, in the gym, in the truck, while I am DIYing. I would have to say that it is one of my most prized material possessions. I have clocked myself with it – I can actually run further, work harder and drive faster (okay, not saying this is necessarily a good thing) when I am jacked in. But, with that many songs in the collection, it is inevitable that I’ve collected a few choice tidbits that might be considered a bit well, odd, to the casual listener. That is to say, I believe that I have some tracks that others might consider to be pure shite.

Of course I have complete control over my musical stylings and although I am not ashamed to admit it, it does seem to put me in a perhaps somewhat unique category when it comes to my musical tastes. The vast majority of my music collection is 80s music – the synthpop through the metal years. I’ve got a bit of blues, a small range of reggae, pocketful of oldies and a few world-music cuts to season the mix. Over the past few years, I have even expanded my horizons to include country, R&B and electronica to really shake it up a bit.

But even in those wide categories, I’ve got a few selections that stand out as obscure, obtuse or perhaps even obstinate. These particular songs hold no real cultural value (other than to show that we can produce some really bad music, perhaps). But they hold value to me. Perhaps they represent a specific time in my life, a treasured memory or maybe they just have a good hook and a hot chick is singing. I dunno.

And so without further adieu, because I know how much you care, below please find a few samples from my list of guilty ipod pleasures. (Now, if I let you read this, you gotta post a couple of your own too…keep the goodness going!)

Accept – Balls to the Wall

According to Wikipedia: Released in 1983 on the album of the same name, this became Accept’s signature tune and remains a metal anthem and trademark in the genre.

My Favorite line: Let’s plug a bomb in everyone’s arse, If they don’t keep us alive – we’re gonna fight for the right (Seriously…what does that even mean?)

Digital Underground – The Humpty Dance

According to Wikipedia: The group’s debut album, Sex Packets, was released in the spring of 1990 and included “The Humpty Dance,” a humorous dance number that climbed all the way to #11 on the pop charts (The video above was live from the Arsenio Hall show – BONUS!)

My favorite line: I get stoopid, I shoot an arrow like Cupid, I use a word that don’t mean nothin’, like looptid (Ironically, “looptid” can now be found in many online dictionaries accompanied with the definition of : a word that “don’t mean nothin’)

Spice Girls – Wannabe

Yeah, okay, if you are 12 or older you know the Spice Girls. I actually have several cuts on the pod. If you liked them (go on, admit it, you know you want to), I highly recommend the Ting Tings as a more contemporary spin-off of sorts

My favorite line: I’ll tell you what I want, what I really really want, So tell me what you want, what you really really want, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna really Really really wanna zigazig ha. (Okay, honestly, what I really, really wanna know is…what the hell is a zigazig ha!?)

Vanilla Ice – Ice, Ice Baby

According to Wikipedia: Originally released on Vanilla Ice’s 1989 debut album Hooked and later on his 1990 national debut To the Extreme, it is his most famous and popular song.

My favorite line: Quick to the point to the point no faking , I’m cooking MC’s like a pound of bacon (Now look at that – he missed a perfect opportunity for cross marketing with those “Pork: The Other White Meat” ad people)

Winger – Seventeen

According to Wikipedia: Released in 1988, the song charted at #26 on the Billboard Hot 100. Despite its pop rock sound, Kip Winger points out that the tune is musically a Progressive song and that it is actually quite challenging to play and sing simultaneously (mhmm, sure thing Kip, that might explain the literary fortitude of those lyrics then, eh?)

My favorite line: She’s only seventeen (seventeen), The girl she gives me love like I’ve never seen, She’s only seventeen (seventeen), Daddy says she’s too young, But she’s old enough for me (Okay, when this song came out I was almost seventeen and I thought it was cool. Now that I am older, and a dad, with daughters, it is yea verily creepy.)

Surf MCs – Surf or Die

(So obscure they don’t even have a Wikipedia or Youtube entry, but I do highly recommend the high-brow artistry of their video) Suffice it to say they were a mid-80s surf punk/rap group from California

My favorite line: Sharks on my right, sharks on my left, One false move, we knew it was death, That’s when we heard a terrifying cry ”Hug wood, homeboy – you better surf or die!” (Ouch, seriously make it stop.. I am laughing too hard at my own stupidity)

So there you have it. A sampling of my guilty pleasures. I hoped you’ve enjoyed this evening’s edition of Catharsis Theatre. If you took the time to read this far, I have four questions that I would truly love your answer to (come on you music aficionados):

1) Do you have any of these on your iPod?

2) If not, what do you consider to be your guilty iPod pleasure?

3) Have I maligned any of your favorites with this list? Am I wrong about their cheesboatedness?

4) What am I missing? What obscure but noteworthy tunes from today or any other time should I be checking out?

Cheers!

We have all had those moments where we are jealous for what someone has or does. But, most of us learn that we probably have something that they may not have. And it is something we can be proud of. Even if it is something small it is still something that we can do.

But, we all know there is that person out there who just doesn’t grown up and accept things or change things. They blame everybody else for things that happen to them and can’t take things in their life and turn them into something good. They tend to go down the childish path. They usually are the person who gossips a lot and makes up lies. That is why I don’t like gossip. They usually can’t tell someone to their face how they really feel and make others do their work. If it is at work they tend to be the first person to run to the boss about problems rather than work it out.

I call these people the green monster or they are full of the color green. Or as I have mentioned before, if it is a woman, a two-faced backstabbing bitch. I do sometimes use color references for emotional references. For example, if I say, “that person is red rolled up with green.” I am saying that they are and angry person and a jealous person.

So if you could be the person who doesn’t go around gossiping and can confront your problems, there is a good chance you will be more respected. I do know people like this and I respect them for their courage and bravery. Maybe this is one step to helping the world be a little bit better.

the past week was filled with ups and downs.
in some way, they are self-inflicted, and silly.

and I started to re-evaluate the beliefs I have had.
and it resonated with what one friend at church said as well.

what if,
the belief that you have been holding on to for years…
isn’t true?

if that isn’t true, all i can do is to accept.

hopes and beliefs are the last things you want to lose as a person (in my opinion)
because hopes and beliefs implies a potential to change, being able to make a difference.

it’s the first time I have ever felt so vulnerable and helpless,
because i cannot do anything to change.
if this belief i have been holding on to isn’t true, then i have to learn how to accept.
and that feels awful, really really awful.

well.
i guess that’s part of life.
there are numerous occasions ahead where acceptance is the key to cope.
and we shall all be prepared.

anyway,
sharing one of my favourite quote/prayer here:
“God grant me the serenity to accept things i can’t change; courage to change things i can; and wisdom to know the difference”
