Get ready for the party season

Christmas songs are in the shops, the town centre is filled with frenzied shoppers, this could only mean one thing, the party season is on its way. And what else is there to look forward to? Well picking out your party dress for the festive occasion’s your going to be invited to! Take a look at the dresses above, hopefully they may help in giving you some inspiration.

This season texture is the biggest thing on the high street, but if you’re not a custom to the daring dresses that are on the racks, just add a sequin jacket, a fur clutch, or studded boots, you can’t really go very far wrong.

Colour isn’t top choice for this season, nudes and blacks are whats on the menu. But black is always a key trend, and many may talk of ’some other colour’ being the new black, but as my mother has always said to me, “you can’t go wrong with a little black dress.” And so when i’m struggling to find something to wear for an event, a black dress is always my go to! But remember accessories wouldn’t go a miss.

Festive accessories

As accessories have it,  I’m a sucker for pretty quaint broaches, bracelets and earrings, i’ve never really been a necklace girl. But these accessories (above) would be my choice for the festive season, i thought a necklace or two wouldn’t hurt. I have a massive attraction to studs at the moment, and with cuffs being such a hit, it can your cheat way to adding a bout of texture in to your festive attire.

Everyone loves shoes and bags

As for shoes and bags, shoe boots are still in. But if you are going to ‘don’ the chosen footwear that has taken over the high street, you need to keep it simple. Bags i have an absolute weakness for, and my overflowing bag collection can vouch for that, i adore clutch bags, and although big bags are my chosen choice for the day i BELIEVE that small bags are what nights out were meant for. I don’t mind across the body, clutch, purse, handbags….just keep them small, your not on your way to the office and a smaller bag will be easier to carry when your cutting shapes on the dance floor.

With so much choice, and the party season is normally full of colour, my motto has always been less is more, so take this lesson…if you wear a plain dress you can wear elaborate shoes, and a few pieces of jewellery. It just helps set the outfit off, and would showcase the gorgeous pieces you have on, rather than drown them.

Although if you style is more is better, then go ahead, be my guest, try everything. Its a little bit of fresh air when people try something that isn’t written in the fashion pages.
