Canada posted a record trade deficit in the third quarter of 2009, according to Statistics Canada fi

Canada posted a record trade deficit in the third quarter of 2009, according to Statistics Canada figures released Friday.

The national statistical agency said Canada produced a current account deficit of $13.1 billion for the July-to-September period, mainly because the country bought more products from other countries than Canadian companies were able to sell overseas.

“A widening in the goods deficit more than offset a marginal narrowing in the services deficit and smaller investment income shortfall,” said Dawn Desjardins, assistant chief economist for RBC Economics Research.

Canada still sold more widgets to the United States than the country’s businesses and individuals purchased from the world’s biggest economy, Statistics Canada said.

But that surplus shrank as Canada’s import bill rose in the third quarter.

“Geographically, Canada continues to record a surplus on goods trade with the United States; however, this bilateral surplus continued to narrow in the third quarter, as Canadian imports from the United States advanced at a faster pace than Canadian exports to American markets,” Statistics Canada said.

Trade balance

A country’s current account position measures its sales of goods and services to foreigners and money inflows to the domestic economy compared to the same country’s purchases of goods and services from other nations and investment outflows to foreigners.

In the third quarter, Canada sold $90 billion in goods outside the country while purchasing $94 billion in foreign products. That resulted in a deficit in this category of $4 billion.

Canada also posted a $5.6-billion deficit on the service side of the trade ledger in the three-month period.

By contrast, Canada received $8.5 billion in repatriated profits and interest payments on foreign investments in the period versus the $8.1 billion in interest and earnings sent outside of the country.

The country’s deficit trade, which appeared in the third quarter, can act to reduce the value of the Canadian dollar. That is because more Canadians will be switching their dollars for other currencies in order to buy foreign goods and services.

The rise in imports purchases also can slow economic growth, said RCB.

“The rapid rise in imports in the third quarter points to the trade sector acting as a significant drag on the pace of GDP growth. RBC estimates that net exports trimmed 4.2 percentage points from the quarterly economic growth rate,” said Desjardins.

Author: Source: articledashboard.com Internet banking and virtual banking offer convenient and cost

Author:

Internet banking and virtual banking offer convenient and cost effective methods of doing bank transactions. Technology paved way for more advanced services but simplified for the traditional banker. The shift from traditional banking into virtual modes of transaction takes time and trust. Security and ease of access is the major competitive thrust of online banking.

Internet banking has made lives, orchardbank.com, easier and banking, orchardbank.

com, faster and more pleasant because it’s a cost effective way of managing accounts that takes care of thousands of customers without going to the bank. There is no need to fall in line and administrative work is eliminated and save banks from overhead costs.

Online banking has many advantages. First, they provide ease of access 24/7 anytime, anywhere. Managing your accounts from paying bills, transferring money and checking balances will be hassle free because you have access from, orchardbank.

com, a secure site. Unlike traditional banks, online banking, orchardbank.com, never closes and just within a click of a mouse.

Speed and efficiency of transactions are executed quicker than ATM machines. Even if you are out of the country, one can access and manage accounts real time and with tremendous convenience. You can request your financial statement online and re-schedule future payments from their bank account or transfer or receive money within seconds.

On the other hand, there are disadvantages of virtual banking.

The start up process may take time because of registration procedures that has to be done at the bank branch. Some banking sites are difficult to manage and it takes time to learn and to get used to its features. A good tip would be to read brochures and invest time learning online banking process ahead.

There are times the main server of the virtual site might undergo maintenance checks and system revisions that would become an obstacle in accessing accounts thru re-entering account information.

For others, learning to trust its capability will be the biggest hurdle. One good tip is to always print the transaction receipt and put it with your bank, orchardbank.com, records until the site refreshes and updates the transaction.

Most of the banks right now offer secure and multi-functioned online banking systems for free or with a small fee. The shift from traditional banks to virtual banking will eventually become the norm as with ATMs.

Fraud issues with online banking are increasing and there are steps you can take to prevent your credit card information and bank accounts from getting hacked or stolen.

Always make computer access secure by protecting log on information and passwords. Make sure to log out from your account when you’re done especially if using public networks like Internet shops or libraries etc.

Dealing with established and reputable merchants gives you the assurance and confidence to protect and secure your accounts. Make sure to check your accounts for any discrepancies and periodically change your password and ignore the “remember my password” option when accessing your online banking.

Online banking offers great convenience and real time access to your accounts. They provide good online services to facilitate effective and efficient transactions safe and hassle-free.

:: Anmeldung: 06.02.2009 11:56:08 Uhr

:: In 293 Tagen 2.938 Tweets verfasst

:: Verfasse täglich durchschnittlich 14.01 Tweets

:: Gerade auf Platz 2.329 der Deutschen TwitCharts

Do you find yourself getting rejected for opening new bank accounts? Have you experienced any sort of financial difficulties in the past? If you answered yes to any of these questions, find out what YOU can do to fix your banking problems.

If you have a bad banking record, it can be an uphill battle to get a bank account. Banks share bad bank client information with other bank companies. So it’s pretty easy to find yourself in trouble with the banking world if you owe banks money.

If you are denied from opening bank accounts, life is going to be a challenge. These days, going without a bank account for long periods of time is NOT an option for most people. A few years ago, this may have been an option, but with the internet taking over and bank accounts being used for a variety of other things like getting loans, you really do need one.

If you can’t open a bank account with a traditional, bank, it’s time to look at other ways – non traditional banks. You can look at getting an account with an internet bank if regular banks deny your account application.
Now, internet banking is fast becoming a popular way to do your banking. Getting an account with an internet bank is easy. As you can imagine, you can apply for one of these accounts online. Most internet banks don’t look at your previous banking history, so if you find traditional banks refusing to grant you a checking account with bad credit, take your business online.

The best way to get an online banking account is to look around online. There are plenty of options out there for you if you look.

Want to get a bad credit banking account? Try looking online for a non-chexsystems bank or think about opening a second chance account.

‘‘Sec. 2711. No lifetime or annual limits.
‘‘Sec. 2712. Prohibition on rescissions.

There is one fact that all insurance companies face, not only one, but two.

Limits and exclusions.

But how could you expect a group of people that know no limits to spending, that are spending us into ruin, know the value of limits.

Without limits there is no ceiling for which the rates can be set or controlled. If you cannot control the limits, then you cannot control the cost. If you can’t control the cost, the cost is not affordable.

This is a fact that has been lost on Congress.

This bill is designed to:

Bankrupt ALL commercial insurance companies.

By means of elimination of free enterprise, force everyone onto the government option.

I also find it odd that they believe one should be able to buy auto insurance after an accident and the insurance company is liable for the accident.

Sec. 1101. Immediate access to insurance for uninsured individuals with a preexisting
condition

That is exactly what immediate access to insurance is. You break a leg and file for insurance, and the insurance foots the bill. Something for nothing. You cannot control the cost.

THIS IS NOT AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE FOR ALL AMERICANS, JUST FOR THE FREE LOADER OF AMERICA. THE REST OF US PAY OUT THE ASS AND OUR PROVIDERS GO BELLY UP.

I did as planned for Saturday morning. I queued outside H&M to avail of the limited edition Jimm

I did as planned for Saturday morning. I queued outside H&M to avail of the limited edition Jimmy Choo products on offer. I arrived at 08.00 to find an orderly queue of around two hundred – most of whom were women – snaked around the corner of South King Street. Anticipation filled the air; it were as if the crowd might suddenly break into a sprint. The line contained just a few men accompanied by girlfriends. The best pickings of Jimmy Choo’s men’s range were as good as mine, I thought. My brother, Catherine and I waited patiently in the drizzling rain, making chit chat with some of the others in the queue.

At 09.00 the doors of the store swung open. The queue slithered at a quick pace until it was consumed by the entrance. In mere seconds, the ground floor of H&M descended into chaos. Countless women bounded for the centre of the shop, rummaging and throwing garments aside. Many grabbed anything they could, paying no heed to size or colour. I have since learned that a member of staff received a kick in the back by an aggressive customer. I am grateful to have given the lady-shoppers as wide a berth I did. I left Catherine to her sorority of fashion-enthusiasts. I made my way to the refuge of the men’s section. As the Bro and I descended on the escalator, I briefed him on the rules of engagement.

At the foot of the stairs was the Jimmy Choo range. It easily stood out from H&M’s regular collection. The clothes were adorned with lush, royal blue tags. The shiny, blue stacks of shoe boxes were a sight to behold. On my wish list was a leather jacket and suit. I rushed to the suits to secure my size. I quickly learned there were limited sizes on offer. I tried on a jacket. It was a little baggy. I opted for a thirty six waist trousers instead of a thirty four. Unfortunately, the men’s changing room had become an overflow to the women’s. There was no possibility I could try my suit on. My Bro suggested I strip in a quiet corner of the store, if I were desperate. I did consider it for a moment. The Bro and I separated to find the leather jackets.

“Find the leather jackets in size large!” I instructed him firmly. “Grab one in black and brown, if they have both colours!”

Minutes later, after no success, I scanned the increasing number of bodies to locate him. His eyes met mine.

“Any luck with the jacket?”

“Is that them?” He pointed to some shabby looking, fake leather jackets.

Frustrated, I glanced around the men’s section. Suddenly, it was obvious that this little island of fancy clothes and shoe boxes was the entirety of the Jimmy Choo men’s range. Only one third of the men’s range was on sale. There were no jeans, scarves or jackets. I located a member of staff.

“Hi, can you tell me where the leather jackets are?”

A young – and quite attractive – guy with a British accent shrugged. “Sorry, mate. This is the extent of it. They sent no leather jackets.”

“Oh!” I responded. Young, Sexy Shop Assistant turned to accommodate a pushy customer.

I stood there a little dumbstruck. What was I to do with the remaining few hundred euro I budgeted to spend? Catherine appeared from nowhere out of the bustling group of men. She carried a few items. I recognised a grey dress from coverage of the celebrity launch party earlier that week.

“How did you get on?” she asked in expectation.

“There are no leather jackets, Catherine! I am disappointed. What do you have?”

“I got these,” she replied as she held out her prizes. Two dresses draped from hangers. “I like this grey dress, but it’s not my size. It’s expensive. This other dress is pretty much all I could get. I am not mad on it either.”

We concluded she would not purchase either dress. She was not completely happy. She hung both Jimmy Choo dresses on a rail. Both garments were pilfered within seconds.

“What do you think of my suit, Catherine?”

She looked about my person. “Where is it?”

My brother howled with laughter.

“I’m wearing it now,” I said dismissively. “You are obviously astounded by its fabulousness.”

We all laughed.

“Is it a little big for you?” This question was put gently.

I turned to the mirror. I made an assessment of its size. A nearby woman advised the suit was a “fine” fit. My doubts were quashed. On the way to the pay point I stumbled over one or two shoe boxes that carelessly littered the floor. Maybe shoes would cater to the void my leather jacket would have so perfectly filled. I opened a shoe box to find a brown pair of suede boots. A second box contained the same.

“I hate suede,” I said to Catherine as I opened yet another box. “Behold! More suede boots.”

I reached for my fifth box. I could sense my brother’s impatience. There was no horrid suede boots. This box contained a pair of breathtakingly beautiful, black, leather boots. I gasped. I placed a hand to my chest.

Young, Sexy Shop Assistant reappeared in front of me. “Try them on,” he said (in probably less a provocative manner than I recall).

A good looking man need never instruct me twice. I sat on a display shelf and wedged my wide foot into the boot. They fit perfectly. I strutted up and down the shop, wearing one boot.

“I’m taking them,” I announced aloud. “And I am taking this Jimmy Choo wallet too.”

I proceeded to the pay point. Young, Sexy Shop Assistant had just opened a till (especially for me). He beckoned me forward. We made conversation as he meticulously folded the suit.

“You’re very lucky to find these boots,” he said. “These were the most popular item of the range.”

I lapped up the attention as I handed over my cash, momentarily considering suggestively throwing it at him.

Leaving the store, I felt good. I had just flirted outrageously with a sexy guy and bought some Jimmy Choo threads. I can’t exactly recall how I vacated the store; it may have been on a large, white, fluffy cloud.

Back at home, Boyfriend failed to conceive the idea of owning such amazing footwear. Nor did his basic mind grasp my suggestion I was now out of his league.

“I own Jimmy Choo boots,” I advised him. “The stakes are much higher now.”

He did not respond.

Boyfriend will not cease pestering me to remove the boots from the middle of the floor in the living room. They are a focal point; to be admired by all. Someday, I might have to wear them outdoors, but for the moment I desire to savour the perfection that is my black Jimmy Choo boots.

The quest has begun… Firstly lets see what Google generates for www.northernbank.co.uk! Google

The quest has begun…

Firstly lets see what Google generates for www.northernbank.co.uk!

Google has brought back a number of different keywords related to, northernbank.co.uk, which some of can be seen in the screenshot below:

This tool is very good, as it shows you the relevance, that each keyword would have to northernbank.co.uk for an advertising campaign. It also shows the local and gobal monthly search for these keywords, which will help me onto the next take of the quest.

I hate not knowing what things mean, espically when it comes to websites. Google have an option box, populated with the words, broad, phrase and exact. What relevance do those words have.. lets try and see what changes. The screenshot above was a search taken with the option set to broad.

The next search shown below was taken with the option set to phrase.

The change “”? That was useful! It actually was, because this option shows the key phrases searched for within a sentence perhaps, that Google has picked out to be relevent. So now we can see which keywords to pick based on the broad key words searched, and now the phrases. Lets move on in are quest to find twelve relevant keywords…

The option this time will be changed to ‘exact’. The screenshot below shows the results:

This times Google adwords is showing the search data based on the keywords searched exactly as displayed above. This gives more data that will be helpful now to finish the quest by having an overview of all the keywords that get the best search numbers, with the use of the three options.

After throwing the data about in my head, using the help of google adwords, and the facillitie to download the results and a comma seperated value file, I have chosen the twelve. See below the chosen ones:

To finish this quest it was a big task, greater than I expected. I took a good amount of time just trying to analyse the data, making my selection based on mainly the local figures, but then bringing in the global figures to back up the choice. There was some major differences in numbers based on the different options, which added more time to in my opinion get twelve keywords that you would expect to be related to northernbank.co.uk!

PS: When on this quest i tryed to find other tools, but they either looked payment or trials, which even from looking at the demo’s where rubbish in comparison to Google Adwords. Google know too much

The quest has finished… well until next week! Maybe a week off
