I need to do something to take my mind off of my current situation so I’ve decided to do a little project.  I have already put up a small gallery on this blog for my small action figure collection and will be putting up my card collection later on.  The action figure collection includes Ultraman kaijuu (monsters), a Kenner Aliens action figure, and Godzilla action figures.  My card collection will take time to put up since there’s a lot to go through.  The collection will include Japanese versions of Rockman and Pokemon cards.  I had a ton of Pokemon cards before, but I sold most of them at a garage sale to make myself some cash.  I only regret selling my Dragonball Z cards, but then again, I still made plenty of money.  I’m also still deciding whether I should put up my basketball and Japanese baseball card collection so we’ll see what happens.  In the meantime, enjoy my action figure gallery.

Well it looks like our boy Heero is back at it again, this time around he’s bringing us the WST (Worlds Smallest Transformers) version of G2 Starscream… AND G2 Ramjet.

G2 Starscream

Starscream had been damaged to the point of stasis lock when the Ark crashed on Earth for a second time. Megatron, apparently the only one to recover from the crash more or less unscathed, decided to revive Starscream. He would later question his own judgement in doing so, but in his defense, the only other Decepticons involved in the crash had been Shockwave and Galvatron (and Galvatron had walked away from the crash anyway), so his options for loyalty were slim.

Predictably, though, Starscream would indeed betray Megatron and the Decepticons once again, this time by giving Jhiaxus and his troops information that allowed them to take control of the Decepticon flagship Warworld. Starscream then doublecrossed Jhiaxus, stole the Creation Matrix (which Megatron had stolen from Prime earlier) and used its powers to merge himself with the Warworld, becoming an unstoppable force of destruction. As Optimus Prime and Megatron entered the possessed ship to try and stop him, Starscream exhibited a startling control over the physical nature of the vessel, turning the Warworld into an ever-shifting maze of horrors to torment the two leaders. But when they confronted him face-to-face, he found that the Matrix was having a disagreeable effect on his own mind. He found himself wanting to be, in his own words, “good”. He desperately gave the Matrix back to Prime in the hopes that the effect would be temporary. This reverted Starscream to his ordinary form, presumably severing his connection with the ship.

G2 Ramjet

In the early days of the Decepticon offensive, Ramjet participated in the annihilation of the city-state known as Praxus and its inhabitants. At Megatron’s behest, Ramjet shielded an unwitting Autobot named Bluestreak from harm during the devastation, ensuring that one living survivor would live to tell the tale of the fall of Praxus…and the might of Megatron.

Ramjet was under the command of Shockwave in his assault on the Autobot stronghold in Iacon shortly after the death of Sentinel Prime and the rise of Optimus Prime. After Megatron disappeared in a space bridge accident with Optimus Prime, Ramjet came to serve under Shockwave.

After Shockwave was dethroned, Ramjet escaped capture by Autobot authorities and met with Shockwave’s remaining troops in the wastelands. They remained there until the Predacons overthrew Shockwave in the name of Megatron, and Ramjet and the Coneheads returned to his control.

After the Great Shutdown, he continued working for Shockwave as one of his top agents, and joined his expedition to Earth to forcibly collect the crews of the Ark and Nemesis. After Ultra Magnus arrived to take command of the team attempting to arrest the Optimus Prime’s Autobots, Ramjet disobeyed orders and made a foolhardy dash for the Ark, only to be cut down in a hail of autogun fire.

The verdict is still out on rather or not Heero’s creations are considered knock offs, customs, or garage kit figures… this all depends on who you ask. I tend to think of them as pre-assembled garage kit figures. Regardless of how anyone categorizes them, he still remains a notable toy maker and deserving of respect among the collector community. Granted, he may not have a huge selection in his arsenal, but the stuff that he produces is consistent and the quality is always good.

Over the past year or so I’ve ordered several sets of his WST Seeker and have always been pleased with them. One thing that caught my attention, from the first time I ordered, is that he includes a resealable molded plastic tray and top with every figure. This set however goes a bit beyond his normal standards and also includes a miniature reproduction of Starscream and Ramjets instructions, serving as the proverbial cherry on the top to give that extra little bit of flair to this set and prove that he strives to put out a quality product.

The core of each figure is on par with the official Takara WST G1 Starscream, staying in scale with both WST Starscream and Thrust, but with added articulation that allows for a bit more pose ability when in bot mode. Most notably is the added hip articulation allowing you to pivot the legs slightly outward, allowing the wings fold back properly and giving them a more realistic foot spacing while standing. Also Starscream’s tail fins have been modified from the Takara version; consisting of 2 separate pieces. This allows him to more closely mimic the original Generation 1, and subsequent Generation 2, transformation schemes.

The accessories on these figures are almost perfect miniature reproductions of the original G2 accessories included with the full-sized figures. The main differences being that the missiles don’t fire and that the sound boxes don’t have the electronics needed to make any noise; both are very reasonable concessions when considering the tiny size of these figures.

As a whole these are some solid figures, and the only lackluster feature that keeps them from being truly phenomenal is the tendency of the plastic to look slightly brown under normal lighting. This is easily overlooked and not that noticeable, especially considering the material that they are made of. The plastic itself is rather high quality and rather sturdy. While not the commercial quality plastic that most collectors are used to, it is a far cry from the low-grade material that is so commonly used on things like the Devastator knock offs so often found at discount stores here in the U.S.

While these items easily fall into a niche market consisting of WST Collectors, people who collect the less popular G2 line, or are Seeker Collectors, I highly recommend these figures. Even if your plastic crack habit doesn’t consist of the afore-mentioned flavors, they are unique and make a great conversation piece when show off your collection.

The Crye Multicam is a multi-environment camouflage pattern uniform which was in competition with the ACU design to replace the BDU (Battle Dress Uniform). ACU became the standard issue for the US military but the Multicam is being used by some Special forces/units.

Here’s a comparison between the 1/6 scale DID and Soldier Story Crye Multicam Uniforms.

The wrist design is different on both, DID has adjustable wrist closure using a velcro strap while SS is fixed. I was surprised to see that the DID pants has an opening along the leg using a zipper then with a velcro strap for adjustments in the lower leg (ankle closure), again the SS is fixed. Both SS and DID have functional zipper opening bottoms, a feature found in Crye designed uniforms.

For photo ops, i equiped both with helmet, vest, and M16’s.

Helmet – MICH/ACH helmet by Hot Toys / Vest – Spear body armor by VeryHotToys and Low Profile body armor by Toy Soldier / Body – Hot Toys TrueType-38 featuring Terrence Howard and Ed Norton look-alike headsculpts. Gloved hands and molded boots/Danner type cloth boots.

Weapon – M16A2 with M203 Grenade launcher and M16 with pump-action shotgun, both by Hot Toys.

Notice the M16 with the shotgun, it has a shorter length barrel, more like an M4 with an M16 stock(?). The M16A2 with M203 is similar to their original M16’s. These rifles are from the HotToys Dutch/Billy figures.

The first 1/6 version of Crye Multicam is by VeryHotToys, unfortunately i don’t have those, they even have a new released version set featuring a multicam jacket. Barrack Sergeant also made a Multicam set, i might update this post to include a photo of all this 1/6 variants…

First off, let me start out by saying that, I really don’t understand all the hate that this guy’s receiving. Admittedly, I’m not the biggest fan of the aesthetics on either of the movie lines, but come on people… it’s The Fallen!

Although the Fallen’s origins are only suggested in his comic book appearance, they would be fully explained in Dorling Kindersley’s Transformers: The Ultimate Guide. One of the original thirteen Transformers created by Primus, the robot who would become the Fallen betrayed his creator by siding with Primus’ dark twin, the malevolent planet-eater Unicron. In the final battle between Primus and Unicron, the Fallen fell victim to the same fate as his master, sucked through a black hole into another dimension. However, while Unicron emerged in another universe, the Fallen was not so fortunate, finding himself trapped in the “underspace” between dimensions.

The only gripe I had with the movie version of this character was that, traditionally, he has always been portrayed as being constantly set a flame; something that was left out of the Revenge of the Fallen movie. I understand Michael Bay’s desire to set his movie creation apart from all the other Transformers continuities, and I accept this (just like a good little fan-boy). On the other hand, when I found out that Target was getting an exclusive repaint of the Fallen mold dubbed….wait for it… wait for it… The “Burning” Fallen, I was more than a little excited.

While it is just simply a repaint of the original Voyager class figure, I like the new orange accents on this figure. Given the way the Movie-Verse feels, I think this is the perfect homage to the original origin of The Fallen. While he’s not perpetually in flames, the dark orange accents definitely give the figure the feel of heated, or molten, metal. To me the orange and black color scheme just seems to work, the same way that they worked for Cybertron Sideways, and KB Toys Exclusive Jhiaxus (which by the way is who I have mine standing next to).

Personally I recommend this figure just for its “homage factor” and for the fact that The Fallen is such an iconic character in the Transformers mythos. Being one of the original thirteen has to count for something, and if you don’t already have the mold then this should definatly be on your “MUST BUY” list. However, to be honest, if you already have the normal release of this character then you may want to take a pass on this one; it all depends on how much of a completionist you are or how much you like repaints and exclusives… for me it was worth it.

That however, is just my opinion. Lets see what you the readers have to say: answer our poll and let us know what you think about The “Burning” Fallen.

This is my 1/6 scale kitbash US Tank Crew – World War II era.

Body is a DID Ricky Foster figure with bendy hands. Cloth Gloves from Soldier Story.

Tanker Helmet by Dragon DML. Using a modern M44 SWD (Sand, Wind, Dust) goggles also by Dragon DML. Binoculars and Gas Mask Pouch by DID.

M1936 Pistol belt, First Aid pouch, water canteen, and .45 ammo pouch by Soldier Story. Knife with unique knuckles grip, triple grenade pouch with leg strap, and M1911 pistol with leather pouch is by DID. The boots is by Dragon DML, this has a nice weathered effect paint and detailed boot soles.

Jacket by Gameitoys from its Callous Soldiers figure Mr.F., this is somewhat similar to a tanker jacket, just different collar and color. I’m surprise of its nice quality, the zipper in particular is sized appropriately. Hard time finding a 1/6 Tanker Jacket  so i settled for this one.

Tanker Bib Overalls by Dragon DML, this has functional metal clips/fasteners to its jumpers and  front zippers, the location for the groin zipper and lower leg button clips is included just as the real thing. This is a second pattern bib tanker trousers.

The M1A1 Thompson “Tommy” Sub-Machine Gun by Dragon DML. Wish i have the metal/wood DID version. I just learned that this gun was initially created for trench warfare fighting of World War I. It’s rapid rate of fire is truly useful in flashing out enemies in the trenches! It became the weapon of choice by both police and criminals/gangsters during the Prohibition era in the US!

Now only if i have a 1/6 scale Tank to match these CVC’s!

The trailer for the new Nightmare on Elm Street trailer didn’t really show Freddy’s face – turned out the effects were still being worked on but they had said they’d done a lot of research regarding burn injuries.

Now Figures.com had this photo of Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy and we can now see that he does look a little different to the original. Definitely a more burn victim look.

I think it will work in the film. What do you think of Freddy’s face?

Figutto is the new line of Action Types and is made by Griffon. Kosaka Tamaki looks very very cute on these photos grabbed on HobbySearch.

Action Figures never had so much brands, Nendoroid, Figma, Revoltech, Actsta, Mobip, Mameshiki… and now Figutto already with 2 Figures. This action figure fever is not new to me, when I was a chibi one, I had a big collection of GI:Joe, so I call it ‘The GI:Joeism’.

I think I’ll wait a bit to get a Figutto, since I can’t tag them together with my Figmas, shes nearly 3 cm taller the other Action Figures, but still nice for collectors.
