Grindstone Lake Trail, Ruidoso, NM 10/12

We hiked this trail with the West Texas Trailwalkers. We did the 6k option which was an out and back to the dam. The walk stayed fairly close to the lake and we enjoyed the views.

After Capitan we continued on to Lincoln, NM.  Lincoln is the  former stomping grounds of Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid.  It was here that Billy the Kid broke out of jail for the last time.   96 more words

After completing the hike up Turkey Canyon Trail, we set out letterboxing.  There were no letterboxes in Ruidoso but there were several nearby.

Turkey Canyon Trail in the Lincoln National Forest 10/11

We hiked this trail with the West Texas Trailwalkers.   We did the 10k option a climb of 1,190 feet. This is an out and back hike in the upper Bonito Creek drainage that had multiple creek crossings and beautiful forest scenery.  190 more words

After hiking the Argentina Canyon Trail we were fortunate enough to get to take a tour of the Spencer Theater.
