From November 27th to Dec. 19th, the Village Playhouse at 730 Coleman Blvd, Ste C in Mount Pleasant features Shipwrecked, ”the amazing story of Louis de Rougement as told by himself”.  The story takes place in the 19th century.

While I was walking my daughter to school yesterday she asked me why did I love thanksgiving sooo much. Cheday why do you

love Thanksgiving so much I returned the question…”because all the family gets together and eats lots and lots of food”. Thats

great..the family stuff I said (my family is a lil’ distant during the holidays so we woould always go to her dad’s family’s house)

but I just looove the food!!!. In that 15 min walk I decided to tell her what the REAL story of Thanksgiving is. She laughed

when I told her about Columbus? He didn’t discover anything Crap! Then I explained to her WHY…..

I came up with this idea to take her to the Museum Of  The American Indian, where on this holiday they can focus on the first

Thanksgiving with the Pilgrims and Native Americans and how awesome how it all went down hill from there. We can NEED to

teach our children about American Indian culture. There are a wide variety of exhibits. They all look very exciting and

interesting. The exhibits include “Identity By Design” which looks at the changes of Native American women dress and other

exhibits that showcase the everyday ritual items used from North to Central America….

I Like the thought of taking time out to not only celebrate the holiday with your children but to also educate them about it

(including the positive and negative aspects of the American Indian experience). GUESS WHAT!! ITS FREE TODAY. FUN,

FREE AND EDUCATIONAL…YAAAY!! BUT I have a problem….my children are gone! their dad came and whisked them away

for the holiday and I am just not motivated to go alone…I mean i can steal borrow someone elses kids but it’s just not the same.

Today is my Aunt Linda’s 60th birthday. It must be the joyous day in the house as she always makes everyday fun. She doesn’t make any enemies, with the smile on her face it will just melt all those worries, even your problems with her. I just don’t know where she gets those energy of staying so fresh and joyful all the time. Even at difficult times she would just wear that big smile, you wouldn’t guess that she has a ginormous problem.

How I truly miss my Aunt Linda. I miss her funny tactics early in the morning where she would always do the silly walk. I miss her singing (Oh she has that beautiful Alto voice). I miss her every time there’s a program (She’s an excellent master of ceremony). I miss her jokes and laughter. I miss her advices and passion for Christ. Most especially, I miss her cooking. There’s a lot of things I missed and I can’t name them all.

Today, in celebration of her 60Th birthday, I cooked a meal for the choir. She was the Choir President for so long and it is but proper to celebrate it with the ministry she cared about and for the people she have laughed with. Simple it may  be but it was huge for me. I cooked Chicken Curry for the choir and I thank them for liking it. Though it was not the same taste that my Aunts cooked but I’m going there (I was supervised by Aunt Neneng, hehehehe…)

To Aunt Linda, Happy Happy Birthday. We deeply missed you. However, we are joyful because you are with our Master and Creator. It has been 4 years and still you have surrounded us with great memories and so much love. There is nothing that we could ever say but Thank you and we love you so much.

(: Alright. So. Got into the car. Went to Desa. Walked to Amirul’s house. Reached there at 11.50. Amirul’s sister is so adorable! Add Ben to the car and off to OU.

Met up with Izzatt and Yana there. Yana already bought tickets yesterday so we had really good seats to Ninja Assassin.

The movie was very, very bloody. But it was soooo much better than Ninja. And the storyline + action scenes were sooo much better. For some reason Ben couldn’t stop repeating a certain line.

Raizo (Rain): Oh Mika, Mika. I like you more and more…. I don’t mean to sound critical but…

I don’t get it either *shrugs.

Anyway. Don’t worry if you don’t like Rain in long hair. You wouldn’t even be looking at his face, more like staring at his ripped body XD He’s topless half the time. It’s kinda violent though but I managed to sit through it (: Oh and BTW I so couldn’t recognize Lee Joon in the movie. The only reason I knew it was him was because I knew beforehand. Otherwise there was absolutely no way I would’ve known that the bald, teenager Raizo was MBLAQ’s cutie!

That was so funny. Because she got stabbed through her left side. For some reason the people in Ninja Assassin all have bizzare hearts. All in all it was a good movie with loads of action, some gore, a bit of humour and lot and lots of Raizo (:

Anyway. We had lunch at BK. Met up with Hannah and Sasha.

After that we went to buy tickets to New Moon. Yana was watching it with Iman and her mom so Amirul, Sasha and I got 3 seats, which were pretty good for a last minute ticket. We got the tickets like 30 minutes before the movie. And it wasn’t even front row, it was quite high up actually so it was really good. Then went to the arcade with the guys for foosball.

We got the popcorn and went into the cinema.

New Moon, the much awaited sequel to Twilight! Anyway. It was waaaaaay better than Twilight. The quality was really good. And the cast was a m a z i n g. Yummy Werewolves anyone? All of them just looked d e l i s h topless. Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) definitely looks better without the long hair. Actually there were a lot of topless bodies in one day. Though Edward (Robert Pattinson) was a tad too pale for my liking. Jane (Dakota Fanning) looked super freaky, but that was the purpose, no? Sasha said the Volturi dude sounded like a pervert, he was freaky. Anyway, how can any girl not melt watching New Moon! For some reason, Edward (Robert Pattinson) has this bizzare ability to make me squeal internally when he acts out those romantic scenes. Really, I have no idea why. Oh, can I please have a pack of sexAy werewolves as pets this Christmas?

Watching New Moon with Amirul + Sasha is like super funny. Sasha can’t stop commenting on Taylor Lautner and Amirul can’t stop forgetting stuff.

And that went on for almost the whole movie. BTW Laurent (Edi Gathegi) looked GREY. WDK (Sasha and I) have no idea why. It’s as if they tried putting talcum powder all over him. Seriously. GREY. And the wolves are soo adorable! Though the first time Sam looked like a huge, ginormous black bear.

All in all it was a really good movie With loads of yumminess (: The quality is so much better and the fighting looked really cool. I love it when the vampires go into hyper speed Ohh, have I mentioned the pack of yummy wolves? I thought the flow of the story was great too even though Amirul was really lost. The cast is amazing. What wouldn’t I give to have a brother named Emmett and a sister named Alice?

2 awesome movies in one day, with loads of yummy topless guys thrown in. Now what more could a girl ask for?

Hemos trabajado en clase de Filosofía y Ciudadanía una actividad que me parece muy interesante sobre la racionalidad, entendida como el uso de la razón para escoger los mejores argumentos o, valga la redundancia, las razones más óptimas para conseguir un fin determinado. Al hilo del omnipresente Kant, al menos en este blog, podemos distinguir la racionalidad según la aplicación de su uso en racionalidad teórica y práctica. La primera se refiere al uso de la razón para elegir las mejores o más “eficaces” ideas, razones o argumentos por los que una determinada afirmación es verdadera. En cuanto al uso práctico se puede definir como la aplicación en el ámbito de las acciones humanas, en el “cálculo” de las posibilidades y los mejores medios para conseguir un fin práctico determinado, entendido éste como una acción ética, estética o política.

Partiendo de esta caracterización, os propongo la realización de la siguiente actividad, dejando los comentarios. También incluiré algunas que resultan polémicas, en virtud de las diferentes interpretaciones posibles.

¿Cuáles de estos actos te parecen racionales y cuáles no, teniendo en cuenta los fines propuestos, las posibilidades de éxito y los medios empleados?

a) Una persona muy pobre dedice vender uno de sus riñones a la mafia del tráfico de órganos a cambio de 100.000 euros. Gracias a ese dinero, consigue salir de la pobreza y se hace rico con un bar cuya especialidad son los riñones al Jerez.

b) Victoria Beckham decide donar toda su colección de zapatos de diseño a una Ong para el desarrollo en el tercer mundo, pero a fin de mes se ha comprado el doble de los zapatos que poseía.

c) El científico Helmut Berstein descubre una vacuna contra la gripe J. Decide publicar sus resultados y renuncia a la patente, y con ello a cifras millonarias, para que la vacuna sea gratis y se puedan beneficiar todos los afectados.

d) Una persona que defiende el respeto absoluto por las otras culturas, decide no denunciar a su vecina por practicar la ablación a su nieta, ya que es de un país donde se practica. Defiende que no se pueden adelantar juicios sin conocer las realidades de las costumbres de otras culturas y alega el derecho de los pueblos a su autodeterminación.
