Details of the 9th June 2012 Bungay Bash (BBC2) are now on the AD Music website. Tickets are available and cost £12. There are details about Bungay, directions to us and links to local web sites for B & B and hotels. We will confirm receipt of ticket orders and advise when you will receive them.

The line up is Modulator ESP, Michael Shipway, David Wright & Friends plus maybe a cellar act similar to last years event. Doors open at 13:00 hours and the event ends at around 22:00 hours.

All three acts are being filmed so please note that virtual tickets will not be available.

While “Undersail” is quite clearly Steve Orchard, it is an album that contains a far more contemporary approach both in sound textures and production than his previous releases and it will have much broader appeal. Steve cites Vangelis’s “Oceanic” as a strong influence and that is quite evident throughout this superb album.

“Undersail” will be released on CD, MP3 and Flac on 15th April 2012. More details to follow on the AD Music website early in 2012

The band are aiming to have the album ready for release in the latter part of 2012.

There are currently no plans for any Code Indigo concerts in 2012 because of individual solo commitments, but plans are underway for a series of concerts in 2013. The band will be preparing a new stage show to include live percussion and guest vocalist.

Code Indigo will headline the 2013 Bungay Bash (also appearing will be Ron Boots) on 1st June 2013 and there will also be European dates to be announced soon.

Not a total surprise because though “Invisible Landscapes” is a pretty cool electronic music album, full of nice ambient, chill out contemporary music, so it’s good to see people are taking notice.

Some people have asked us about “Virtual Tickets”. We’ve decided against them for one reason. The whole event is being filmed (at considerable effort and expense!) to enable us to complete the 4 separate DVD releases we’ve had in the pipeline for several years for Code Indigo, David Wright, Callisto and Geigertek. It seems counter productive to make over 5 hours of music available as a download when so much effort is going into the preparation of the DVD releases which will include a lot of this music.

These planned DVD releases will all include original graphics prepared by Dave Massey intertwined with live footage from the 4th June Bungay Bash. For those of you who have been to our concerts in recent years, I’m sure you’ll agree that some of these DM spacey graphics are quite sensational, so alongside live footage, the DVDs should be great.

Obviously there will be more information about these DVD releases later in the year and we will make every effort to ensure that at least one (or more) will be ready for release by October 2011.

A terrific mix of traditional electronica music and instrumental rock with a specially prepared graphics backdrops and lighting from some of Europe’s finest artists who reside in the area, along with  Real Ale on tap. Great Music and Beer in Bungay in the Summer – what could be better than that?!

The acts are, (in the Cellar giving 3 performances during intervals) Steven Scott, and on the main stage during the afternoon; Geigertek (14:00); David Wright  (15:45), and for the evening, Callisto (19:30) and Code Indigo (20:30).

Geigertek (Main Hall performance 14:00 – 14:45)

Geigertek is the electronic music project of U.K. composer and performer, Neil Fellowes, and it’s music blends electronica with ambience and rhythm, edged with a classical touch.

Geigertek has three releases through AD Music: the 2008 debut album “The Garden”, 2010′s “The Timeless Mind” and an electronica-style E.P. “Endless Night”. 2011 will see the release of the third Geigertek album, on CD, “Soundtrack For City Living”, again through AD Music.

Geigertek’s Neil Fellowes is a classically trained musician and as well as solo work, is a keyboard player with electronic rock group Code Indigo. Neil also provides additional keyboards for Callisto’s live performances. Alongside the third Geigertek album, Neil is working on a collaborative New Age music project with David Wright and Nigel Turner-Heffer under the name of Trinity.

Neil is a man of many parts and outside of music, he is gaining momentum as a photographer, some of his work was used for the CD cover of the “Exit Strategy” album from U.K. electronic music icon, Ian Boddy. Examples of Neil’s photography will be used as part of the artwork for the new Geigertek album, “Soundtrack For City Living”.

For live performances, Neil Fellowes is joined on stage by his daughter, Alannah Raeburn-Fellowes, who plays additional keyboards and adds a touch of glamour.

David Wright (Main Hall performance 15:45 -16:45)
David Wright is the keyboard player and composer of space music and electronic instrumental music who founded the AD Music label in 1989 and who co-founded the electronic/prog rock band Code Indigo and the electronic music duo Callisto.

His solo music is melodic, atmospheric and emotive with emphasis on mood and feel. His gently rhythmic style combines piano, synths and multi layered sounds and sometimes incorporate electric and acoustic guitars, violin, percussion, samples and male & female voice textures.

His large catalogue of work is varied, covering “Romanticism”, “Space Music” and “Sequenced Electronic” while his music is laced with classical, rock, jazz and cultural influences. During a 23 years musical journey, David has become an established live performer on the em scene and his music has featured on film and TV.  Many critics consider his epic 2002 release “Walking with Ghosts” to be his seminal work, but in truth his large cannon includes many critically acclaimed albums (Dreams and Distant Moonlight, Schallwelle Awards (Gr) Best International CD of 2008 – Momentum – NAR (USA) nominated Best Ambient album 2007 and twice nominated best international artist at Schallwelle music awards plus several Schwingenhuan awards nomination between 1995 and 2004).

He has developed his own unique sound and style, that for reference purposes, can been likened to Steve Roach, Kitaro, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Jean Michel Jarre and Mike Oldfield, yet retains an originality that has been rewarded with perennial sales and several prestigious music awards.

Callisto (Main Hall performance 19:30 – 20:15)
Callisto was formed in 2003 by David Wright and Dave Massey to present a modern take on the 70′s  Berlin school style of traditional electronic music and space music – i.e. loads of sequencers and atmospherics!. The result was a resounding success and the 2004 CD “Signal to the Stars” was hailed a classic slice of electronic music. The follow up album Nyx didn’t appear until 2010 and was nominated in the Best International album category of 2010.  The band was initially conceived as a studio band, Dave Massey being co-writer and producer but not a live performer. As requests for live appearances grew, Neil Fellowes joined in 2008 for live performances resulting in the Hampshire Jam and e-day performances. Live at the Hampshire Jam was released as a download album in 2009.

Callisto will feature music from the electronic music albums Signal to the Stars and Nyx.

Code Indigo (Main Hall performance 20:30 – 22:00 )
Code Indigo is one of those hard to catagorize progressive rock bands whose music and concept style albums cross genres and appeal to a wide range of audiences. With strong melodic compositions, an imaginative combination of keyboards, guitar, samples and rhythms plus a good helping of atmosphere and sublime “off the wall” moments, their instrumental music and chill out music compares to that of a Blade Runner style soundtrack. A sort of ‘electronic keyboard music meets guitar based instrumental rock with vocal textures, masses of samples, experimental, ambient and down tempo chill out influences’ all part of the mix. Think ‘Art of Noise, Enigma and instrumental Pink Floyd’ or classic rock music for ex-rockers who have mellowed with age.
The band was founded in 1995 by David Wright and Robert Fox as a vehicle for their collaborative work and also featured Nik Smith on lead guitar and Vaughn Evans on synths. Pat Patterson replaced Nik Smith on guitar in 1997, but was himself replaced a year later by Andy Lobban. Vaughn Evans left the band in 1998 and Robert Fox left in 2008.

The current line up is David Wright and Neil Fellowes on keyboards, Andy Lobban (lead guitar), Dave Massey (rhythm, seq and bass programming) and Nigel Turner-Heffer on keyboards, bass and rhythm guitar.

The bands seminal album “For Whom the Bell” was the bedrock on which AD Music was established, providing large sales and much critical acclaim. Code Indigo were once described by BBC presenter Ashley Franklin as “The best instrumental band on the planet”.

Steven Scott: (Cellar performances: 15:00 – 15:30 / 17:00 – 17:30 / 18:00 – 18:30)
Steven Scott began playing guitar at age of 12, with a background in prog-rock, folk, punk and indie bands. He currently plays electric and acoustic guitar in ‘Magicfolk’ and also plays guitar in an experimental, improvisation multi-genre band called ‘Norwich Labrats’. Steve also has annual reunions for recording with a previous indie band in Essex.

Steve loves to do occasional livelooping performances, creating spontaneous sonic soundscapes in unusual places, eg, Will Giles Exotic Garden, Bergh Apton Sculpture Trail (played for 5 hours, but great fun!), Sainsbury Centre for the Visual Arts, The Subud Festival, Surlingham Church, The Octagon Chapel in Norwich, as well as an Urban Farm in the middle of Sheffield!

Loves his 3 cats almost as much as his 3 children and lovely wife.

We’re pleased to announce that the AD Music summer “Bungay Bash” (3 Ales and a Gig) is definitely on for Saturday 4th June 2011. Full details can be found on the AD instrumental Music concert page. The headline will be Code Indigo, while David Wright & Geigertek will provide the two afternoon performances. There will also be a 4th act TBA who will play in the venue’s cellar during the intervals. Tickets are a very reasonable £10 plus .75p booking fee and postage.

We’re trying something a little different here. The event is in conjunction with a beer festival, so there will be 3 local ales on tap for the day, hence the “3 Ales and a Gig” tag line. The event is NOT all seated, but there should be more than enough seats for those who prefer to sit. If you want seated, just specify “seated” when you book.
