Before you can change your IP you need some information. This information includes your IP range, subnet mask, default gateway, dhcp server, and dns servers.

1. Getting your IP range – Getting information about your IP range is not difficult, I recommend using Neo Trace on your own IP. But for my test just look at your IP address, say it’s 24.193.110.13 you can definitely use the IP’s found between 24.193.110.1 < [new IP] < 24.193.110.255, don’t use x.x.x.1 or x.x.x.255. To find your IP simply open a dos/command prompt window and type ipconfig at the prompt, look for “IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : x.x.x.x”.

2. Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DHCP Server – These are very easy to find, just open a dos/command prompt window and type ‘ipconfig /all’ without the ‘ ‘. You should see something like this:

This is all the information you will need for now, I suggest you either keep your dos/command prompt window open or copy & paste the information somewhere, to copy right click the window and select text and click once.

III. Changing your IP Address

To change your IP address first pick any IP you like out of your IP range and remember it or write it down. It is usualy a good idea to make sure the IP is dead (except for what we are going to do later on) so just ping it via “ping x.x.x.x” and if it times out then you can use it. Now go to My Computer, then Control Panel. In Control Panel select Network Connections and pick your active connection, probably Local Area Connection or your ISP name. Open that connection by double clicking on the icon in Network Connections, then select Properties under the General Tab. In the new window that pops up select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click properties, it’s under the general tab. In this new window select the General tab and choose “Use the following IP address” and for the IP address enter the IP you would like to use (the one you picked from your subnet earlier) and for the Subnet Mask enter the subnet mask you got when your ran ipconfig /all, same goes for the Default Gateway. Now select “Use the following DNS server addresses” and enter the information you got earlier. Now just click OK. Test that it worked, try to refresh a website and if it works you know everything is okay and you are connected. To make sure the change worked type ipconfig again and the IP address should have changed to your new one.

IV. DDoS & DoS Protection

If your firewall shows that you are being DDoSed, this is usually when you are constantly getting attempted UDP connections several times a second from either the same IP address or multiple IP addresses (DDoS), you can protect your self by changing your IP address via the method I described above.

V. Web servers & Other Services

If you know someone on your IP range is running a web server and he or she has pissed you off or you just like messing around you can “steal” their IP address so any DNS going to that IP will show your site instead because you would be running a web server yourself.

To “steal” an IP is to basically use the changing IP address method above and picking an IP that someone that is running a web server has in use. Often you will be able to keep that IP at least for some time, other times you wont be able to use it so just keep trying until it works. You your self will need to have a web server on the same port with your message. You can do this with other services too. You can also DoS or DDoS the IP address you are trying to steal to kick him off the net, but I don’t recommend as its pretty illegal

This morning when I woke up, I logged onto the internet.

This evening when I returned to boot up again and log on, no dice. My wireless indicator light was off, so I figured I must have bumped the switch. I turned it to on. The orange light of doom was still glowing. Orange means the wireless is off. Blue means the wireless is on.

The orange light was mocking me.

So I fiddled with it some more. I used my Blackberry to Google why the wireless wasn’t turning on, and the orange light remained. Ironically, I came upon a forum where a member referenced my exact model of HP laptop and said they had experienced the same problem and that their calls to HP Customer Service were futile. (I’ve heard that about them.) They also said they’d taken the laptop into a repair store and decided the $150 diagnostic fee was not even worth it.

I glanced over a few more articles on the Crackberry and decided my best bet was the cheapest route (thank goodness for that)… I headed out to purchase a wireless adapter. It wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be to get installed and working, but after an hour of frustration, I got it. So, that’s that. I no longer have the ease of built-in wireless, but at least my computer is still working and able to function online with the adapter. (And I had a $20 reward certificate from Best Buy to use up, so it cost me half the price)

Technology. I love it. And I hate it.

Elektrische schokken mogelijk

Nokia roept wereldwijd veertien miljoen opladers terug. De fabrikant heeft gemerkt dat het omhulsel los kan raken. De interne componenten zouden daardoor een schok kunnen veroorzaken.

Het gaat om drie verschillende types. De AC-3U en de AC-3E die tussen 15 juni en 9 augustus van dit jaar werden gemaakt, en de AC-4U die tussen 13 april en 25 oktober van dit jaar werden gemaakt. Op de adapters staat telkens BYD vermeld. Dat is de naam van het bedrijf dat de opladers in opdracht van Nokia fabriceert.

Via een speciale pagina geeft Nokia meer informatie om gevaarlijke laders te herkennen. Ook lees je hoe je in aanmerking komt voor een gratis inwisseling. Voor Europese gebruikers zal dat hoofdzakelijk de AC-3E zijn.

Microsoft kondigt aan dat de nieuwe Wireless N Networking Adapter deze maand op de markt komt.  Deze adapter moet ervoor zorgen dat je Xbox 360 hogere snelheden haalt bij het draadloos werken, door gebruik te maken van de nieuwe wireless “N” standaard.  DEze standaard zou je bereik vergroeten en de snelheid zeven keer doen toenemen.  Dat zou de nieuwe adapter uitermate geschikt maken voor onder meer het downloaden van Games on Demand, het streamen van HD films en muziek.

Many of us face a problem with programming in .NET and SQL server that when a new record is inserted into the table with a primary key that is auto generated/ identity seed. How do we find out the auto generated ID of the last inserted record?

Using Data Adapter is a common practise and the architecture of ADO.Net which takes the Data off line and refreshes only when we perform a requery or update on the data adapter. Since newly inserted records will not have and auto-generated identity key, which is fetched only after an update is executed on the data set.

On a multi-user environment there are many users accessing the same database table and adding information at the same time. So when an insert is executed by us and there are very high likely chances that there are other users also who are executing an insert on the database. So when our data adapter is refreshed the requery will return all the records from the table which includes your newly added record and the records added by other users.

If we use simple logic and run to the last record in the data table to find the value of primary key, there are chances that this record may not be the one that we inserted and may lead to wrong information being fetched.

So how do I get the value of my primary key which is an identity seed?

Well its very simple T-SQL provides a command @@IDENTITY that returns the value of identity which was last generated by an insert command.

So after you have executed your data adapter update statement, just execute this set of statement to get the identity that was generated.

C# code

The variable Id will contain the value of last generated identity seed.

@@IDENTITY returns value for each connection so you need worry about fetching the value of someone else’s insert statement.

Another T-SQL command SCOPE_IDENTITY() returns the last generated identity value for a current scope. I will cover this more in detail in my next article.

Under åren har man ju samlat på sig en sjuk mängd saker. Och eftersom jag ärvt “Kan vara bra att ha nån gång”-genen av min far så är mängden saker extra stor, och mycket av det är inget direkt att spara på.

Jag har flera gånger gått igenom allt jag äger och skrivit ner på papper vad jag tror jag vill göra med de olika sakerna. Somliga saker ska absolut sparas, annat vet jag inte säkert med, medan mycket kan säljas, skänkas eller slängas.

Denna planerings-process påbörjade jag för någon månad sen, att rensa ut skräp är alltid bra även om jag då inte var helt hundra om jag skulle åka.  För lite mer än en månad sedan tog jag dock tag i det ordentligt. Jag tog min kamera och gick ner i källaren och började fota allt skräp jag vill bli av med. Upp från källaren kom jag även med en mängd tomma kartonger som jag slängde.

Jag fortsatte sen fota lite andra saker i lägenheten. Några av bilderna valde jag ut och la upp på Blocket för försäljning. Tyvärr är det lite svårsålt. Jag vill gärna bli av med saker som man egentligen inte får så mycket för. Trots detta kostar en annons på Blocket kanske 10 kronor, vilket knappt gör det värt mödan. Visst, jag slår vanligen ihop många produkter i en och samma annons, men då är det större chans att de missas.

Fick igår reklam från Tradera om att sälja av allt i sin garderob. Så jag kollade upp vad det kostar hos dem. Det är inte så dyrt (2-28 kronor för billigare saker). Om något inte blir sålt så kostar det inte en enda krona (förutsatt att man satt en krona som utgångsbud). En annan fördel är att det är auktioner så priserna kan lätt bli mycket högre än på Blocket där det är mest först till kvarn (och denna personen ska dessutom alltid försöka pruta). Fördelen dock med Blocket är att det oftast är lokala svar så det kommer någon och hämtar sakerna och man får pengar i handen.

Men nu ska jag ta och prova Tradera för lite av mina saker. Aldrig sålt hos dem förut, bara köpt en massa. Mina Blocket-annonser går ut om drygt tre veckor. Jag har sålt en taklampa och en golvlampa för 180 kronor, en TV för 150 kronor, och en 19-tums CRT-monitor för 100 kronor. Av det som är kvar så finns kanske något du är intresserad av? Jag kommer lägga upp många fler saker inom kort som sagt, bland annat spel, prydnadssaker, böcker, tidningar, skivor, skrivbord, stolar, soffa, med mera. Det jag inte vill sälja kan jag även tänka mig att låna ut till nära och kära under tiden jag är borta.

Av de 30 VHS:erna jag la upp är en såld. Den gick för 15 kronor … ett färdigfrankerat och vadderat kuvert spann loss på 43,90 på “Posten” – sjukt! Jag ska nog köra med egna paket i fortsättningen för sånt och bara köpa frankering. Så människan betalade 60 kronor för en VHS-film, inte okej =/

Tamuna war die erste, die die gasgefüllten Luftballons an der Decke der Flughafenhalle entdeckte. Dutzende schwebten dort, manche prall gefüllt, anderen war schon etwas die Luft ausgegangen. Wie wir im Laufe einer langen Nacht im Ankunftsbereich des Tel-Aviver Flughafens beobachten konnten, scheinen derartige Ballons ein Bestandteil des Wiedersehens- bzw. Abhol-Zeremoniums.

Während der Busfahrt nach Jerusalem gewinnen wir blitzlichtartig durch heruntergelassene Jalousien und die schmutzige Heckscheibe einen ersten Eindruck vom heiligen Land: Zerklüftet. Immer wieder tun sich Taleinschnitte auf, der Horizont ist immer nah. In Jerusalem ist unsere erste Anlaufstation das österreichische Hospiz, ein Gästehaus unter kirchlicher Leitung. Der freundliche Rezeptionist bewahrt unser Gepäck auf, sodass wir für zwei Stunden durch die Bazar-Gassen und über die Dächer der Altstadt auf Erkundungstour gehen können.

Nach Rücksprache mit der deutschen Botschaft in Tel Aviv trauen wir uns auch ohne Visumstempel nach Bethlehem in die Westbank. Die Dame von der Einreisebehörde hatte weder Pass noch ein separates Papier gestempelt. Alles geht reibungslos und wir kommen am Nachmittag erschöpft aber voll neuer freundlicher Eindrücke bei unserer netten Gastfamilie in Beit Sahour an. Zwei Schlafzimmer, eine geräumige zum Wohnzimmer hin offene Küche und ein Bad im Erdgeschoss ihres Hauses werden die nächsten beiden Wochen unsere Bleibe sein. Neben Lebensmitteln hilft mir unser Gastgeber Essam auch bei der Besorgung eines Adapters (10 NIS), um unsere elektrischen Gerätschaften ans hiesige Stromnetz anschließen zu können.
