Best PPC Gratisan alias Free

1. Google Adsense

What would Google do if there were a national ad click day–where everyone everywhere clicked o

What would Google do if there were a national ad click day–where everyone everywhere clicked on as many online ads as they could that day? Heck, we could even have an international ad click day…that would really mess things up. In fact, why stop with just one day? Let’s make it an ad click week, or month. Would advertisers have to pay for all those clicks or would Google’s “technology” be able to decipher which ones were legit? What about people with Adsense on their blogs? Would those bloggers just get screwed out of those commissions?

I’ll be the first to admit Google has a great search tool. But am I alone in thinking that they have gotten too big for their britches? Think about it. If you have Adsense on your website, you cannot even encourage your visitors to patronize your sponsors. What other business in the world tells their customers NOT to visit or patronize their advertisers? Has Google ever unveiled or published the technology or algorithm they use to decipher legitimate from fraudulent clicks? Why isn’t it posted on their Adsense site? Who is Google to tell a user whether or not a visitor is legitimate or not? Does’t Google owe it to their advertisers on Adwords as well as their Adsense customers to communicate to them how they are getting paid? If I’m an advertiser, I want quality leads–but I also want as many leads or people looking at my product as possible. If there were more clicks on ads, the cost per click would go down and actually decrease advertising costs. Google doesn’t want costs to advertisers to decrease because then they can’t gouge them as much. Isn’t price gouging in some industries illegal??? Gasoline comes to mind.

Google’s response might be that by publishing their algorithm that determines click fraud, they would be helping their competitors. Actually, they would be helping the industry as a whole and Their Customers! Google doesn’t want to publish that information because then both advertisers and website publishers would see how royally they are getting ripped off.

Google’s real product is their search engine. I don’t have any problem with them not sharing that information. If they did share their search formulas, and perhaps they already have, most people wouldn’t understand it anyway. Besides, there are only a couple other players in the search market anyway. By not sharing how they determine click fraud, they continue to support their own wide profit margins at the expense of advertisers and website publishers. That makes perfect business sense, as long as you support the idea of price gouging. Maybe the government should look in to whether or not there is any anti-trust stuff going on here.

Fortunately, although a bit late, there are other competitors on the pay per click scene that are emerging. Just to name a few: Bidvertiser, advertising.com, blogads, Adbrite, and Videoegg. Unfortunately, many ad networks follow Google’s lead by not disclosing their margins. Let me be more precise here. I am not asking them to disclose margins–simply publish how click fraud is determined. A publisher can merely compare how much they get paid from one network vs. another. However that can be very time consuming, cumbersome, and expensive.

Google, if you want to do your fans and customers a favor, share with everyone how you determine click fraud. I, for one, would like to encourage my visitors to patronize my advertisers. In the meantime, hopefully some ad network will emerge with fairness and transparency–something that, in my opinion, Google has not done a good job of.

So what do you think? Should Google tell advertisers and publishers how they determine click fraud? What are the advantages and disadvantages of doing so? Please leave your comments below…

There are so many things amazing about the WordPress blogging platform. Its user-friendly interface,

There are so many things amazing about the WordPress blogging platform. Its user-friendly interface, its interlinking features, its SEO potentials, its interconnectivity with other WordPress blogs, its ability to publish content so easily and so efficiently well, and so much more! But the best thing about the WordPress blogging platform has got to be its highly customizable nature. In fact, there is a big community on the web dedicated to create WordPress themes, WordPress modifications and WordPress plugins.

WordPress plugins are, without a doubt, the most enjoyable features of WordPress blogs. WordPress plugins add to the functions that WordPress can accomplish.

There are WordPress plugins that are as trivial as providing weather reports, providing a ticker for the latest news in the field of sports or the stock market or the world, reporting post counts, providing a rating system for each blog post, and the likes. There are also WordPress plugins that are as essential as putting a stop to spam comments – which are prevalent these days – and automating the publishing of posts.

Among the most important of these WordPress plugins are those that automatically display AdSense blocks on a particular area of the page. Without these WordPress plugins, bloggers will be pressed to manually tinker with the source code of the blog to incorporate their AdSense ads. There are also WordPress plugins for other Pay Per Click (PPC) programs like AdBrite.

Before magazine-style WordPress themes became popular, WordPress plugins that automatically embed YouTube videos were very popular. They’re still widely used these days – especially those that cater to other video streaming websites like DailyMotion and MegaVideo – but the sheer convenience of having it as one of the features of an appropriate WordPress theme has lessened the plugin’s popularity.

Yet another integral WordPress plugin is one that adds icons that, when clicked, will submit a particular blog entry to the corresponding social news network. WordPress plugins like this are responsible for driving fantastic traffic to the blog overnight. Just imagine if a reader likes what you posted and he’ll have the option to immediately submit your blog entry to a social news website like Digg.com, and once submitted, Digg users will also enjoy your blog entry and they will vote for it. You’d have hundreds and thousands of visitors to your blog in a matter of hours! Other social news networks and social bookmarking websites are also included, like StumbleUpon, Technorati, Del.icio.us, Slashdot and Reddit.

WordPress plugins add a limitless potential to the blogging platform. Every day, a new plugin is created and published in the WordPress community. The WordPress platform is an ever-evolving program because of the commitment of its devoted flock.

And online marketing will only become better because of it!

Original entry: April 6, 2009

In conjunction with the Web 2.0 Expo, Girls in Tech organized a special evening panel on “The Women of BD” featuring the heads of Business Development from Yelp,AdBrite, Bebo and CBS Interactive. The event was a standing-room only, smashing success with well over a hundred people in attendance!

A week earlier, I learned about the Girls in Tech event through a friend. Having six years of BD experience, I was intrigued, and my very first GIT event did not disappoint. The panelists talked candidly about their experiences in BD, discussed how the BD role has changed in today’s challenging economic environment, and gave advice on how to make a career transition to BD.

Afterwards, as the panelists stuck around to chat with attendees, I stole one-on-one time with Sonia Survanshi McFarland from Yelp who gave me insightful advice when I asked her, “What should I be doing to move up in my company?”. She prefaced her tips by advising, “You should be doing the job that you want for a while before expecting to get the title that comes with it.” (ie, in order to be promoted to VP, you should already be preforming at a VP level before asking for a promotion)

Sonia’s Tips on Moving Up

1.) Make yourself indispensable. Position yourself to be strong where your boss may be weak, and offer to step in and handle aspects of the job that your boss hates doing.
2.) Be visible and take credit for your work! Women tend to be modest about our achievements, whereas men generally don’t have this problem. It’s important to shine and celebrate our achievements.
3.) Be in the know. Know how changes in the industry and overall economic environment affect your company. Take a thought leadership position, proactively contribute ideas and provide creative solutions to problems.

The Women in BD event delivered exactly what i was hoping to see — women having fun and helping each other. By the end of the evening I was certain I wanted to be a part of Girls in Tech.

A big thanks to Jessica Alter (Bebo), Sonia Survanshi McFarland (Yelp), Lucy Jacobs (AdBrite), and Jennifer Vescio (CBS Interactive) for sharing your BD experiences with us, and to Peter Pham (BillShrink) for moderating the session!

So, I read an article on Editor and Publisher about the Fair Syndication Consortium.

Flying dollar signs? Where's my translucent net...?

Basically, if a newspaper article (or anything) is found on another site other than the original author, the Consortium will be able to track it and get compensation from the site’s administrator in the form of ad revenue from ads on that site. The technology exists to track such content, so why not use it to the creator’s advantage?

I thought, “YES! That’s awesome! Why did no one think of this before!”

But, I wonder, what happens when articles or content are put onto a site that doesn’t generate revenue from ads?

Regardless, I think this is a good step for publishers to take. A lot of providers have joined including Conde Nast. I’m really hoping it yields the desired results.

And the main image on the Fair Syndication Consortium is of people trapping dollar signs with wings in butterfly nets. Sign of a system destined to work.

Anyways, if any of my entries end up on some corner of the web I’m unfamiliar with, I like knowing there’s a system in place enabling me to get some flying esses from it.

Fresh from SXSW, RIP: A Remix Manifesto reflects the power of documentary as a force for social change. The film’s message is simple: mashups are fair use, remix is not piracy. So stand up for free speech and get down to VJ mashup legends Eclectic Method. SFFS 360 Film + Club was rated the Best Dance Floor Flix Fix in San Francisco by Bay Guardian, and Mezzanine is super plush. Don’t miss it.

There are several ways to earn money from the Internet. The most common is Google’s AdSense, where you insert a peace of code into your web site and you start to earn money. There is however another adds service available, AdBrite. From our experience, adBrite can sometimes be more rewarding than AdSense but in the long run it is not the best choise. If you use both of them, it is defenetly not a good idea to place two different ad services on the same page. AdBrite highlights some text and shows a little popup when you place the mouse pointer over while AdSense does show only text links or images. However, We do not recomand the use of any of these free ad services because the money you will earn is prety low compared to the time and effort you put in the promoting of your web site. To earn money you have to convince the user to click on the ads. Most users wont even bother to click on your ads, no mater what you do. Placing ads on your web site is unprofessional, more like a hobby.

Lately, most users think of a web site with ads as a low-cost or poor man’s web site with low-quality content. Only two big exceptions are known by us: torrent search engines with ads and file servers with discreet ads placed so that you cannot avoid to click them.

In this article you’ll discover how to utilize an important ad marketing skillset on the Internet. This information will help you to expand your business, or the products that you are promoting for other people online.

If you have been on the Internet for any length of time, chances are that you have heard of google adwords. This is a place where you can advertise your products through the google search engine and also through their content network. For those of you who have been using google adwords, you are very familiar with all of the steps that you have to go through in order to effectively promote your products. Google can sometimes take weeks, or even months to get something approved, which is a sad proposition to say the least.

With google being such a large corporation, it has become increasingly difficult to get the large number of clicks that were once enjoyed. This is due to extreme user saturation, and having to follow a long list of rules, that they seem to always be adding to.

It has become much harder to make a lot of money using the google advertising platform. Thankfully, there is an alternative.

Introducing AdBrite. An advanced strategy in regards to search engine optimization. AdBrite is a smaller version of google adwords, but a much simpler program to understand. AdBrite adds a beneficial boost to the speed of your content delivery. It contains no hoops to jump through or get tangled up in. It is super simple to set up a campaign and begin to see results in a very short period of time. In fact, there are times when I have created an ad and literally started getting clicks to it mere minutes.

Using AdBrite in addition to, or in place of Adwords will unlock a whole new world of traffic to your online products. You control the who, where, why and when aspects of your ad campaign by specifically targeting pre-sold traffic in relation to your keyword industry terms. There are far fewer people advertising by means of adBrite. This creates the opportunity for you to saturate your name across the front page of the search engines. By expanding the number of clicks to your products or pages in dynamic measure, you will without a doubt begin to make more money from your advertising campaigns.

Adbrite is not contextual like Adsense, so the click through rate is a bit low. The best option with

Adbrite is not contextual like Adsense, so the click through rate is a bit low. The best option with adbrite is the full-page advertisement and the in-text advertisement. I have tested adbrite recently and got nice clicks from the in-text ads. Since my site is full of content so the in-text ads work good. The full-page ads are usually impression based, and my traffic is not that huge, so I did not make much with the full-page CPM ads.

So, to start with here are a few steps to maximize your adbrite earnings.

Un-check the auto-approve of ads, and don’t approve ads below 10 cents.

Give a nice description of your website, remember most of the advertisers you will catch from the adbrite market place.

Get the big rectangles, as that is the best performing ads for any network.

Put up as many tags as you can, in the keywords field. Use the dictionary if you run out of keywords.

Make the color of the ads text and background same as rest of your website.

If the ads are a banner, only approve the really high CPC ads, like 50 cents or more, and for CPM ads banner, choose max you can.

These basic steps will improve your earnings a lot.
