How to add images to your presentations

We often add images and provide vision information along with bullets in our presentations or make photo slide show using PowerPoint.

How? You can learn here.

Ways to add images to your presentations

->> Go to Design -> Background Style (PowerPoint 2007) or Slide Master to add image as the background of the template.

For detailed tutorial, you can refer to my old post to brand your slide show.

->> Go to Insert -> Photo Album to add batch images by one click with a unified layout.

For detailed steps, you can refer to the old post make a photo album.

->> Go to Insert main menu -> Picture (PowerPoint 2007) to insert an image to the slide which is chosen. Then, the image we insert would appear in the middle of the slide. We can click it and drag it to the place where it should be located.

->> Besides the ways above, we can browse and find the image we want to add to our presentation. Then we copy it and then paste it to the slide we want to put it. It can also be moved to the right place with the way above.

To adjust or add effect to the images we just put, please follow the steps below.

Ways to adjust your images

After move it to the right place, we can change the style and picture effect in PowerPoint.

->> To rotate it

Right click the image, it would be surrounded with mini rounds and rectangles, including a green one above. Locate the cursor to this green mini round, then you are allowed rotate it in certain angle.

->> Adjust its effect

Double click the image. Then, you can change the brightness, contrast or color. If you do not like all the effect you have changed, you can click Reset to recover it.

->> Change the style

The same with it above, double click it to enable the Picture Tools. Then you can choose one from the 28 default styles.

If you do not like the defaulted picture shape, picture border color, picture border weight, picture effect, you can customize it at your will.

Done! You can enjoy the images in your PowerPoint presentations.

En la última entrada que escribí, me di cuenta que me faltaba un botón en la interfaz, uno muy simple que metía los tags de img para insertar una imagen. Ahora han puesto otro con muchas más opciones y que tarda sensiblemente más en cargar, y que me gusta bastante menos que el anterior. Le he mandado un texto al soporte a ver si entran en razón y dejan los dos botones, porque a mí al menos se me hacía más llevadero con las opciones (y rapidez del anterior). Y como me imagino que no vaya a volver a estar entre nosotros dentro de 3 días, que menos que rendirle un homenaje

Open config.php file (Under application/config folder) and change the following line

$config['base_url'] = “”;

$config['base_url'] = “http://localhost/cimenu”; //here cimenu is the folder where all the files of CodeIgniter is

Now open autoload.php file (Under application/config folder) and change the following line

$autoload['helper'] = array();

$autoload['helper'] = array(‘url’, ‘form’);

Now create a folder named menu under cimenu(This is the project name) folder, that is, in your root folder. Now put all the files of the external menu to the menu folder under cimenu.

Lets create a php file and name it mymenu.php under application/controller folder and write the following code:

In application/view folder create a php and name it as menuview.php and write the following code:

Now create another php file name it as menu.php in application/view folder. This is the file where all the code of your menu is. Here if you need to call any CSS, JavaScript or image you have to use <?=base_url();?> because it is your base url where all the external files is.

It this project there is one CSS and one JavaScript file in menu folder under cimenu. We can include it by the following line respectively.

You can add image by adding the following code in the menu.php file, you must have a folder name images in the root directory, i.e. in the cimenu folder.
