I found an incredible home the other day when I was out on Caravan ! For those who love Southern Colonial and Old World Hollywood…this is a great find on one of Santa Monica’s finest streets – The home of of the late film star Jean Simmons has come on the market for the first time in more than 30 years, with an asking price of $3,895,000- on Adelaide Drive in Santa Monica North of San Vicente. The Southern Colonial was built in 1950. What a grand home ! I could just imagine what conversations took place in that home back in the day when Jean was starring in scores of films such as Spartacus, The Happy Ending, Angel Face, musical A Little Night Music, Hamlet back in 1948. She received an Emmy for her role in The Thorn Birds in 1983. And she starred in a film – Shadows in the Sun just recently in 2009. Jean Simmons was married to Stewart Granger and Richard Brooks. The home has 4 bedrooms 3 baths over 3000 square feet, private swimming pool and sits on a lot over 12,000 square feet. I can’t imagine that this home will stay on the market long.
