The choirs are singing this piece for their holiday concert.  I worked with the audition choir today, and it was such a treat.  They really love what they do, and they focus, and they have a great capacity for flexibility of tone and expression.  There are several songs they are singing that I like, but this one was kind of hard to put together in my brain, so I YouTubed it and found a version conducted by the composer, Karl Jenkins.  I really like it, though the Enya version is lovely too.

It’s funny, after some really profound frustration and deep disappointment earlier in the semester, I’m finding some real satisfaction in having one of those jobs that changes every day.  I have enough flexibility to stand in for the choral conductor, and I have the chops to take it over without losing momentum.  I have gained the skills to work behind the scenes with more confidence, and I am enjoying the work I am doing with the solo singers.  In many ways the work I am doing now reflects the inner reality – constantly shifting, sometimes terribly frustrating, but more often creative and beautiful.

I’m going to therapy on Thursday, and I’m reflecting that this is the first time I’m going that I haven’t felt like I had to rush headlong into her office in order to have an hour and a half of feeling like myself.  I think I’ve talked about this phenemenon here already, but it’s a growing feeling that I am indeed my true self.  So I don’t need to find some external place to be myself.  I really accept myself for who I am as a person, even more deeply than orientation I think… but I also think of myself as a lesbian and that is, for the first time, a COMFORTABLE and comforting thought.  I know I am out in the places where I live my daily life, and I know that I am welcome as ME irrespective of orientation, I’m just welcome as ME.  I think part of that is that I am welcoming myself.  It’s all kind of warm and fuzzy.

Adiemus!  It’s all nonsense syllables, but it feels good, it sounds good, it is good.  My life doesn’t make sense in straight world or gay world right now, but it feels good, it sounds good, it is good.  And even the growing pains I’ve experienced and have yet to experience bring more joy.

For not only are economic structures going to collapse, but also medical structures. But this is also a gift. The human beings will have to understand how important conversations are – not conversations from intellect to intellect, but conversations from heart to heart. The human beings will learn to listen to each other again. They will learn to look into each others eyes and to discover themselves at the same time. The changes cannot be stopped and as they cannot be stopped it is the greatest gift that you yourself can be part of it. That you carry the energy and also the knowledge of what it means to let go of so much, which also makes it difficult for you at first. For letting go is a process which is difficult sometimes in the duality. Be it the letting go of possessions, the letting go of a job, the letting go of a partner, the letting go of thought patterns which catch up with you again and again. For this it takes courage. But you bear this courage in yourself. Each single one of you bears this courage in himself. For the energy of God is courage. The energy of God is love. And you are a messenger of God, great light in a human body, seemingly still imprisoned in a duality. But the new is arriving and is moving closer. Something new can only come into being by something old breaking into pieces. Do not stop between two energy frequencies, waiting, suffering, frightened, but make a decision for the path to awakening, no matter which path you choose for it. But make a decision. Make a decision for yourself for when you yourself are whole, when you yourself are cleansed, when you yourself are ready and courageous to allow the changes, then you can help so many human beings. You wouldn’t be here, not in these rooms, if there wasn’t a spark, a light somewhere in you which is telling you: Your legs have carried you here. You have taken a seat on a chair and that has a meaning – more than you can guess. For your soul has shown you that it is good to accept the changes and that the energies which are being brought to you today are doing you good and help you to master the difficult time in the duality.

Feel now the peculiarity, the healing energy of Raphael. Feel deep in you whether you are standing before a decision. If this is the case, use this opportunity when the energy of Lady Amethyst is flowing through you that you decide right here and now. You are being flooded with magnetic love energy of Kryon, and when everything shatters you will move closer together. You are a unit, bearing for this is the dawning of consciousness and the love. Because the third Light Body level of the human beings has been activated the soul does not permit that emotions store themselves in the bodily cells. This, too, is a big gift. Endeavour to choose your words which you speak carefully. Do not hurt with words. For behind each word is an energetic pattern. The human beings are learning to speak loving words again for the energetic pattern of the New Age is love.

You have received a high energy transmission, but the highest form of transmission of an energy frequency is the breath of God, and so you will feel the breath of God today which fortifies and strengthens you and stores in you the energies which have been transmitted to you. So let us feel the breath of God. Kryon asks you to rise and to lay your hands on your heart.

And so Kryon would still like to go into the most important Light Body symptoms which so many human beings bear at this time. Many human beings suffer from allergies, breathing problems, head-aches, inflammation of the joints, a feeling of tiredness at the moment and very many human beings are brooding over these Light Body symptoms. For after you have visited a doctor and this doctor has confirmed to you that there is no physical trouble you will recognize that they are Light Body symptoms of the New Age.

But how do you handle such Light Body symptoms? In the duality, the way you are experiencing it here, they are painful and trying and sometimes they also cause fear. But hear the message of Kryon. Hear the truth and the love of the words which are being transmitted when Kryon conveys the message to you: It is a new beginning. It is a sign of the times. It is a sign for the fact that the changes have already happened. Important about these Light Body symptoms is that you listen to your soul, that you know what this means. Even if you have the feeling sometimes that the High Councillors of the Light and the angels are not with you, know, we are always with you. La verdad es que Apple tiene aspectos negativos, como todo, pero sobre todo, tiene conceptos muy, muy positivos. Aunque voy a parar de encumbrar las maravillas de apple antes de que alguno me señale como fanboy de Apple… o de Obama (como ya ha sucedido), y que no es la realidad. Solamente señalo lo que son algunas virtudes, a mi entender.

No comprendo a los radicales, de un bando o de otro, lo que está claro es que no deja indiferente a nadie.

I have been angonizing over this one song.

Like for a couple of days. (I read some comments on YouTube and this one person took 15 years to find this song – oh dear that’s 15 years of agony)

I tried Midomi – sang and hummed on it for just about a hundred times. No less.

Came up with no matches.

I mean I cannot really blame it – after all the song does not have much sensible lyrics to begin with…

It’s by Enya (again yes I know – previously my post on Midomi also featured Enya – I guess she’s my favorite singer!) and the song is called Adiemus.

For those who wants to know, Enya’s song was a cover from Adiemus (the group/singer).

There are some songs available on the Internet mistakenly attributed to Enya. Some examples are Harry’s Game or Adiemus. Harry’s Game was released by Clannad and Adiemus is from a group called “Adiemus”, some songs from “Enigma” were labeled “Enya” as well. There’s also a bootleg from Eastern Europe called “Solas”. This album was written by Ron Hardiman. The producer of this bootleg used Enya’s name for their product. Please note that on this website are listed all songs Enya has ever released.

More research on the song tells me that this song was written by a Welsh composer, Karl Jenkins.

Adiemus is the name of the song and an ensemble for Jenkins compositions.

The lyrics consists of words created by Jenkins himself and has no sense, and in which the voices are used like instruments for the music. Miriam Stockley is the person who sang the original.

This song is phenomenal. It brings us back to a time when we were free.

Free from everything around us.

**UPDATE**: I just found out that Karl Jenkins and Adiemus performed the Palladio – the same song which got Escala popular in Britain’s Got Talent!

Over the past few weeks, Mr Greg and I have found ourselves watching “Last Choir Standing” on BBC One on a Saturday night.

Although it’s kinda a tired format, and not really new or innovative, or even a good copy of a much copied format, it still makes for very watchable TV I think. Indeed, Last Choir Standing is a BBC Vision Studios production made by the team behind other BBC entertainment shows including Strictly Come Dancing, I’d Do Anything and Any Dream Will Do, and so this comment on the format shouldn’t really come as a surprise to regular viewers.

The premise is that they are looking to find the UK’s ‘best loved’ choir and have enlisted Suzi Digby, Russell Watson and the fantastic Sharon D. Clarke (who was the original ‘Killer Queen’ in WWRY and who currently plays ‘Lola’ in Holby City) to help judge the competition. There will be six choirs which will be in the final, made up from two ‘winning’ choirs each week. The overall winner will be chosen by a viewer vote during the final show.

Thus far there have been a real ecclectic mix of choirs which have competed, and without wanting to ruin it for anyone, I think that all of the decisions that have been made thus far as to which choirs go into the final and which are knocked out have been the ‘correct’ ones.

Although this is clearly a stop-gap production by the BBC to fill in the mid-summer month, when ratings are traditionally lower due to us all going out etc (the episode on 19 July 08 only received 2.25M viewers), I still find it compulsive viewing. Not just that, but instead of just getting one or two hotties in total on the show, you find that you get a good handful of them in most choirs – hurrah! hehe!

My favourite performance thus far has been by Ysgol Glanaethwy and was their performance of “Adiemus” by Karl Jenkins. The wall of sound (no pun intended on the other choir’s name!) that they were able to create, the power behind their voices and the choreography gelled really well and sat perfectly with the really uplifting and moving piece of music.

Anyways, back on-topic, having only seen 5 of the 15 choirs perform properly, I’ve yet to establish firm favourites as of yet; I think I’ll wait until just before the final and then pick one of the six as my favourite then.

När jag lyssnade på radiokanalen med nament artister som liknar Enigma så spelades en låt jag bara kände igen allt för väl men inte kunde komma ihåg namnet på. Så jag kollade och det var Adiemus och deras låt med samma namn. Kan rekommendera klienten framför att streama direkt i webbläsaren via föregående länkar. För att kunna dela med mig direkt på bloggen gjorde jag en sökning via google och hittade utan problem en musikvideo på YouTube.

Radio via last.fm kostar inget och jag frågar mig om det finns finns någon betaltjänst som kan ge mig en bättre upplevelse, eller ens komma i närheten. Uttrycket gratis är gott handlar inte om att slippa betala för sig. Det kan tyckas märkligt men åtminstone inom musik så ser jag fler och fler exempel på att det handlar om kvalite när man säger att det bästa här i livet är gratis. Man betalar ju inte mer för något som är sämre.

Om det blir av att betala för något så är det för att få ett album att ställa i hyllan och att ha när skivspelaren tas ut på någon av sina numera inte ens regelbundna motionsrundor. När det gäller musik på datorn så håller finurlig radio på att totalt konkurrera ut alternativen. Dagar med så fint väder som det varit på sistone så vill man ju inte sitta inne och pilla med spellistor. Jag vill ligga på balkongen och lyssna på en soft blandning av sådant jag har hört förr och för mig ny musik.
