<p>Le 1er février 2005 au matin, une <a href="http://lci.tf1.fr/infos/hotesse/hotesse-1.html"><strong>hôtesse</strong></a> de l&#8217;air chutait d&#8217;un escalier autotracté après le débarquement par l&#8217;arrière de l&#8217;avion des passagers d&#8217;un vol <a href="http://lci.tf1.fr/biographies/air-france-4883746.html"><strong>Air France</strong></a> Biarritz/Orly, la passerelle avant étant utilisée pour l&#8217;évacuation d&#8217;un passager victime d&#8217;un malaise. Elle devait mourir à l&#8217;hôpital des suites de ses blessures. L&#8217;agent de piste qui conduisait l&#8217;escalier au moment de l&#8217;accident avait été mis à pied quelques jours après et licencié pour faute lourde deux mois plus tard. Un licenciement pour lequel une procédure est en cours aux prud&#8217;hommes. Mise en examen tardivement dans ce dossier, pour homicide involontaire, <strong>Air France</strong> avait toujours soutenu que la responsabilité de l&#8217;accident incombait entièrement à l&#8217;agent de piste. L&#8217;agent, de son côté, avait reconnu n&#8217;avoir &#8220;<em>pas jeté de coup d&#8217;oeil</em>&#8221; sur l&#8217;escalier au moment de la manoeuvre, mais avait affirmé avoir reçu l&#8217;autorisation de le déplacer de la part d&#8217;une collègue de la victime. Une autorisation que cette <strong>hôtesse</strong> a toujours contesté avoir donnée.</p>
<p>Ce vendredi, le tribunal correctionnel de Créteil a rendu son verdict dans cette affaire très médiatisée : il a relaxé la compagnie aérienne, mais condamné l&#8217;ancien agent de piste de la compagnie à un an de prison avec sursis. Sur le plan civil, <strong>Air France</strong> et l&#8217;agent de piste devront verser solidairement 75.000 euros de dommages et intérêts à la famille de la victime, au titre des dommages et intérêts.</p>
<p>Des règles peu claires et une faute de négligence</p>
<p>Dans son réquisitoire, le procureur avait demandé entre 80.000 et 100.000 euros d&#8217;amende à l&#8217;égard de la compagnie aérienne, coupable selon lui de &#8220;<em>fautes de nature réglementaire</em>&#8220;, et six mois de prison avec sursis et 10.000 euros d&#8217;amende contre l&#8217;ancien agent de piste. &#8220;<em>L&#8217;existence d&#8217;un lien de causalité entre l&#8217;absence de règles claires et précises de répartition des compétences entre le personnel navigant et le personnel au sol et l&#8217;accident (&#8230;) n&#8217;est pas ét</em>abli&#8221;, a estimé le tribunal a propos d&#8217;<strong>Air France</strong>. L&#8217;agent de piste, en revanche, a &#8220;<em>commis une faute de négligence en manquant délibérément à une procédure interne de sécurité</em>&#8221; en retirant l&#8217;escalier sans en avoir reçu l&#8217;autorisation, a jugé le tribunal.</p>
<p>Au cours de son réquisitoire, le procureur Dominique Gaillardot avait estimé que l&#8217;agent de piste avait effectivement commis une faute, mais que celle-ci &#8220;<em>n&#8217;éclipsait pas</em>&#8221; la responsabilité de la compagnie aérienne. Il avait ainsi dénoncé un &#8220;<em>manque de précision</em>&#8221; dans les règles régissant la transmission d&#8217;informations entre le personnel au sol et le personnel navigant pour le retrait de l&#8217;escalier. Selon lui, <strong>Air France</strong> avait par ailleurs utilisé un &#8220;<em>matériel non-conforme</em>&#8220;, en l&#8217;occurrence un escalier autotracté à la visibilité très réduite et dépourvu d&#8217;alarme de recul ou d&#8217;avertisseur de présence humaine. Une négligence qu&#8217;<strong>Air France</strong> &#8220;<em>pouvait et devait</em>&#8221; éviter.</p>
<p>Depuis, plusieurs améliorations ont été apportées aux escaliers afin de permettre une meilleure visibilité arrière ou de pouvoir détecter la présence d&#8217;une personne sur la plate-forme.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.aeromt.org/index.php" target="_blank">Alternative Energy Resources Organization (AERO)</a> is seeking a strong leader with integrity, confidence, and good communication skills to serve as the organization&#8217;s Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems Program Manager.</p>
<p>The ideal candidate will have a background in sustainable agriculture and/or food systems and should be capable of building strong relationships with a diverse membership, community leaders, interested citizens, researchers, educators, and funders.<!--more-->AERO (the Alternative Energy Resources Organization) is a non-profit membership organization based in Helena, Montana, which serves the High Plains and Northern Rocky Mountain region of Montana. AERO is a widespread community of people creating social, economic, and environmental health. Organized in 1974, we work toward a vision of a sustainable, community-centered society. Renewable energy, sustainable agriculture and food systems, resource conservation, and community self-reliance are the areas in which we focus our pro-active work.</p>
<h4>Position Details</h4>
<h4><span style="font-weight:normal;">This .75 &#8211; .90 FTE time position AERO is seeking to fill is responsible for the ongoing development and management of AERO&#8217;s 25-year-old Food and Agriculture program. This program encompasses several projects designed to improve the sustainability of agriculture and communities by increasing the availability of local foods, changing agricultural practices and systems, improving research and education, increasing community economic vitality, and building social capital. The successful candidate for this position will join a dynamic staff in a cooperative, team environment. The successful candidate will work closely with AERO&#8217;s 900-plus members, particularly the agriculture task force, which sets agriculture program direction. The individual selected will need to possess the ability to prioritize and work on numerous tasks effectively. All these endeavors will take place with the goal of improving the environment and financial stability of communities throughout Montana.</span></h4>
<p>The position will be based in Helena, Montana. The salary for this .75 &#8211; .90 FTE position is commensurate with experience. Microsoft did something they haven&#8217;t done for a while, in fact for ever, Windows Vista wasn&#8217;t even laying a bit of dust and, bam!, here&#8217;s this beta of a new operating system and then, boom, you&#8217;ve got Windows 7 released. So, whats the crack, is it good, worth it, gonna be a turn around for the Vista pain we&#8217;ve all shared? These are the main questions I intend to answer in this brief overview of Microsoft&#8217;s latest offering to the Windows world.</p>
<p><strong><em>Should I upgrade to Windows 7</em></strong><br />
This is where we get to the Microsoft dilemma. For some reason Microsoft have this OS they just simply can&#8217;t get rid off, of course I&#8217;m talking about XP. Microsoft tried with Vista and failed quite badly, especially with compatibility involving drivers, which even Ballmer (Microsoft CEO) admitted. This is why this question is hard to answer so I have to section it out.<br />
<em>XP users:</em>No. Yes, believe it or not I still don&#8217;t think Windows 7 is worth it for XP users. Why? Well put it this way, Windows 7 (Business and Ultimate) have an added compatibility feature called &#8216;XP Mode&#8217;, so the big question is, do you want to pay hundreds of £/$ on an operating system thats more than likely going to have to emulate the software you&#8217;ve been using. Don&#8217;t get me wrong, Windows 7 offers some good offerings, but nothing that can&#8217;t be added to XP with 3rd party software.<br />
<em>Vista users:</em>Hell yeh! If you&#8217;re on Windows Vista, or been on Vista. Windows Vista did something amazing, instead of promoting Microsoft and boosting the love at Microsoft, it boosted the love for alternate options like Mac OSX and Linux, Microsoft are prob the only ones who&#8217;ll manage to do that! If you&#8217;ve gone through the moodswings of Windows Vista you deserve to put 7 on your machine thats been battling through it all with ya, personally it should be free for Vista users as compensation if you ask me.</p>

Windows 7 has many new features which are <strong>finally</strong> gonna change the way you use Windows. Windows 7 now features some major &#8216;<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Aero">Aero</a>&#8216; enhancements, in fact alot. And, I&#8217;ve got to admit they really improve the way you use Windows. Aero Snap to easily have two windows in view at the same, which is handy, the method can also be used to maximise the windows, I know, rather neat. Other features include Aero Shake, which easily allows on window to be the centre of attention and get rid of the rest temporarily, then, shake, and their back, also very useful. You&#8217;ll find yourself trying to do these features more or less all the time.<br />
The Explorer in Windows 7 also has some great enhancements, basically fixing the Vista one, things are laid out easily and it makes using it alot more easier. It also features more sharing options. So, I know what you&#8217;re thinking, its Vista with a few appearance changes, oh no. Windows 7 is alot more than (a bit more of) a pretty face it also has a few hidden enhancements, Action Center replaces Windows Security Center improving in-built security which is always a good thing, Windows Media Center has a new look (like a green <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zune">Zune</a>) which is a big more slick than before, and, oh yes, that dock &#8230; err&#8230; I mean, &#8216;Windows Taskbar&#8217;. Windows Taskbar allows you to see only your program icon nice and big, but also interact with the programs by either right clicking or view (if multiple windows open) by hovering over, a new Aero feature that. It also allows you to &#8220;pin&#8221; programs to the taskbar for future quicklaunch, all these features do sound familiar don&#8217;t they? You maybe thinking Windows Sidebar is no more, but no, now simply referred to as &#8216;Gadgets&#8217;, all the so-called sidebar stuff now can be put anywhere on your desktop, but also if you add it to where the sidebar would be they click in to place, which is nice. Windows 7 also has added touchscreen support, useful for users on Tablets. Improvements have been added to the Start menu as well, one nice add-on is the fact that &#8216;Shut Down&#8217; is now one button and not hidden behind an arrow. Also it includes a feature which allows you to open, for example, older visited pages for Internet Explorer, or documents for &#8216;Word&#8217;, nice that. I normally wouldn&#8217;t mention a new version of Media Player, but Windows Media Player 12 has some nice new additions, unfortunately WMP11 looked better, but it now supports &#8216;.mp4&#8242; which is nice. It also comes with IE8 &#8230;. (bring on the sarcastic woo). Windows classic applications such as WordPad and Paint get a very nice update, including the look first seen in Office &#8216;07 and Paint is now not a bad program at all for image editing and creating with the new brush options.<br />
But I think the biggest Pro we can give Windows 7 is, the release version is, well, actually rather stable.</p>
<p><strong><em>Pros</em></strong><br />
1. Nice update if your a Vista user<br />
2. Very stable, keep that one up for future releases please Microsoft<br />
3. Windows Media Center alot clearer and helpful<br />
4. WMP12 has new codec, most importantly H.264<br />
5. Improved Account Control<br />
6. Very useful Aero features / Aero Shake Aero Snap etc<br />
7. New taskbar helps with multiple programs running and program management.<br />
8. Updated Paint and Wordpad look and feel, and features. Finally<br />
9. Gadgets no more stuck to one side of the desktop.<br />
10. New Explorer look and feel.<br />
11. Added compatibility<br />
12. DirectX 12 (For all you gamers out there)<br />
13. Easier to disable UAC &#60;&#60; Like that one</p>
<p><em><strong>Cons</strong></em><br />
1. Not enough to make XP users upgrade<br />
2. Most old software still rely on &#8216;XP Mode&#8217;.<br />
3. Whilst the taskbar is nice, still has the same UI from back in Windows 95.<br />
4. Very expensive for the small amount of differences with Vista<br />
5. Why still 6 versions.<br />
6. Added Security? Then why does it still need virus protection<br />
7. Same system requirements than Vista<br />
8. Definitely not enough to make new Mac users switch back.<br />
9. A bit too-like Vista</p>
<p><strong><em>Overview</em></strong><br />
Windows 7 is a nice upgrade and adds many features that are not found in previous versions of Windows. Whilst these features are useful, I do fail to see many features that would put me first in the queue for Windows 7. Windows 7 is a must-have however for Vista users as it, not only makes using the computer better but XP Mode will make those old dusty apps will finally run on that recently bought computer.<br />

There&#8217;s even a very reasonably priced one on <a href="http://page19.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/x105104861?u=;kei_sportsjp" target="_blank">Yahoo Japan Auctions</a> right now. It&#8217;s probably too aggressive for most people&#8217;s tastes but it definately is very rarely seen over here.</p>

<p>Here&#8217;s a little Yakima Ski Rack History for all you folks calling that are not quite sure what you have or what you should get.</p>
<p>This once over on all of Yakima Ski and Snowboard Racks should get you off to a good start.</p>

<p>Pictured above is one of the most popular carriers we sell &#8211; The Yakima FatCat 4 (3077) and Yakima FatCat 6 (3078).  When Yakima says this fit&#8217;s wide ski&#8217;s &#8211; they&#8217;re not lying &#8211; this thing was built for the wide ones, in addition to having a super sleek low profile finish and unique look.   FatCat&#8217;s have been made since 2007.  The FatCat 6 has approx 28&#8243; of carrying space &#8211; compared to the Big Powderhound at approx 22&#8243; usable.  And best of all like most of Yakima&#8217;s ski/boar racks it includes a ski lift for low clearance crossbars (prevents your bindings from rubbing on painted surfaces:)  The FatCat 4,6  was originally packaged without locks &#8211; part 3067, 3068)</p>

<p><strong>The Taskbar:</strong></p>

<p>The taskbar has been redone, and is now like the dock in Mac OS 10.6.  All the icons for running or bookmarked programs are there, and it shows what windows are open and preview of them on mouseover.</p>

<p>You can also set it to not combine taskbar buttons and show the label.<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-66" title="Capture2" src="http://rgwoehr.wordpress.com/files/2009/11/capture2.png?w=300" alt="Capture2" width="300" height="22" /></p>
<p>And you can set it to use small icons so the taskbar doesn&#8217;t look so huge like it does by default.</p>
<p>Aero Peek is also nice, when you mouse over the window preview on the taskbar, it will hide other windows and just show the window you want so you don&#8217;t have to go looking for it.</p>
<p><strong>Gadgets:</strong></p>
<p>Windows 7, like Vista, has the sidebar gadgets, but this time there isn&#8217;t a sidebar. Now, you right click on the desktop and click &#8220;Gadgets&#8221; to open the gadgets you want, and you can put them anywhere on your desktop. There isn&#8217;t that annoying bar on the side anymore that&#8217;s always there if you want to have a gadget open.</p>
<p><strong>Aero Shake/Window Snap:</strong></p>
<p>Windows 7 makes it easier to have windows side by side. All you have to do is drag the window to the left or right to make it take up that half of the screen. Also, you can maximize a window by dragging it to the top, and you can hide all other windows by shaking the window. I think this was added for people who use touch screens, but it can be useful with the mouse too.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve been using Windows 7 since the public beta, and it has been great the whole time. It is much more stable than Vista or XP are, at least on my hardware. As far as performance goes, it kicks Vista&#8217;s ass, but obviously its not going to be as fast as XP is. There are many other new features and changes other than the ones I mentioned, so go pick up a copy of 7 to see the rest. Its $200, its a little expensive in my opinion but totally worth the price.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Em Outubro, a ilha das Flores, nos Açores, esteve 12 dias a funcionar exclusivamente com recurso a energias renováveis, numa situação inédita a nível nacional, revelou o secretário regional do Ambiente, Álamo Menezes.</p>
<p>“Esta situação provou que é possível, numa conjugação das energias eólica e hídrica, utilizando tecnologia única no país, alimentar com energias renováveis uma ilha como as Flores”, afirmou ontem Álamo Menezes.</p>
<p>A tecnologia em causa refere-se à utilização de volantes de inércia, que eliminam ou atenuam as variações de tensão nos aerogeradores, o que permite garantir a qualidade da energia produzida.</p>
<p>A ilha das Flores, com cerca de 142 quilómetros quadrados, tem mais de quatro mil habitantes, distribuídos pelos concelhos de Santa Cruz e das Lajes.</p>
<p>“Esta ilha é um exemplo de penetração das energias renováveis a nível nacional e mesmo internacional”, frisou o secretário regional do Ambiente, acrescentando que “o sistema caminha para uma quase autonomia energética”.</p>
<p>Nesse sentido, a central termoeléctrica que está a ser construída na Pedreira do Porto vai permitir um reaproveitamento da actual central de Além Fazenda, com a ampliação da sua componente hídrica. A nova central, orçada em 12,5 milhões de euros, terá cinco grupos geradores, com uma potência total de 3,6 megawatts.</p>
<p>Por outro lado, está também prevista a construção de uma nova central hídrica na Ribeira Grande, o que permitirá nos próximos anos atingir uma taxa de 87 por cento de energias renováveis no abastecimento da ilha das Flores.</p>
