Lyrical monster, martial arts, chess and Gang Starr Foundation should describe Afu-Ra in a well mannered sense. After first appearing on Jeru Da Damaja (I will do a post on Jeru in the nearest future) two first albums (The Sun Rises in the East & Wrath of the Math) on the tracks Mental Stamina and Physical Stamina, Afu-Ra released his debut single ‘”Whirlwind Thru Cities” in 1998. After the second single, “Defeat”, in 1999, he finally released his debut album Body of the Life Force in 2000. In 2002 the “Life Force Radio” record was released. Three years later, after a compilation album (I see no reason to share this), he finally released his third record “State of the Arts”. Trough the years, Afu-Ra has proved that he deserves his place in this ugly world of hip-hop, working with class A artist and beatmakers like; Dj Premier, Royce Da 5’9, Jeru Da Damaja, Guru, Big Daddy Kane and many more. Afu-Ra was expected to release an album in 2007, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Eu tava ali, do lado do cara que na real se mostrava bem ‘alegre’, hahahaha. Mas tudo bem, vamos respeitar porque Afu make some noise, né. Na hora em que ele cantou um dos seus maiores suuuucessos, a clássica Equality, eu não estava no meio da multidão. Mas era possível me encontrar ali no ‘meu’ cantinho tentando enfiar a câmera na cara dele fotografar como era possível. Na real, eu queria mesmo era ouvir a Whirlwind Thru Cities, uma das minhas preferidas, e dei um salve pro Gui (Aeme) que tava bem ali na frente. A gente sabe o significado que esse som tem pra nós, então tá valendo. No geral foi bom, gostei!

Ok, essa última não era pra entrar, mas pelo menos eu ainda tava sã hahaha. Dica pros meus próximos rolês, principalmente quando for fotografar: “Luciana, tome cuidado ao pedir pra não colocarem gelo na caipirinha.” Porque o ideal é pedir menos gelo. Saquê demais causa efeitos ‘colaterais’ (risos&risos). Tchau Afuuuuuuu! Te vejo quando for fazer compras  em NY e passear no Central Park.

Un rapporto professionale collaudato da lunghe tournèe quello del soprano Beatriz Fornabaio e Loredana Paolicelli. Quest’ultima, nota pianista materana, si è distinta nel campo musicale regionale per le sue attività di insegnamento e di direttore artistico con la realizzazione di importanti cartelloni di eventi musicali. Uno di questi è il “VivaVerdi Multikulti” versione autunnale, che porta in programma, per venerdì 7 e sabato 8 novembre a Matera lo spettacolo “Appunti di viaggio” nella sede dell’Associazione Arterìa. La performance che vede il connubio di musica e voci recitanti, ripercorre gli antichi suoni della tradizione colta e popolare con Beatriz Fornabaio regista e voce insieme a Loredana Paolicelli, al pianoforte e Mimì e Milena Orlandi voci recitanti.
