Okay! So the release date is still not set in stone, but we are releasing the “Episode Order,” or the titles of the episodes and a brief summary of what they are about without spoiling anything. Normally, the episode order would also include the author that will be writing each issue, but for Season 1, Derek Athley will be writing every issue/episode. If a season 2 is to be released(we want to see how well season 1 goes first), then we may bring in other authors. Now, on to the episode order!

Format:
Episode # – Episode Title
Episode description.

01 – A Suicide M.O.
Aizyk and Arelia are hired by a distraught man to find his wife’s killer, even though the police has ruled her death as a suicide.

02 – Calling on a Dead Man
A mother questions the strange circumstances of her son’s seemingly drug-related death, but it seems her son may have had his hand in more than just drugs.

03 – The Dead Park Killer
Seventeen bodies are found in an abandoned park, leading to an all out man hunt for the Dead Park Killer, but why is the evidence all pointing to Erin’s partner, Ben Lowery?

04 – Pigl van Höten
After the arrest of her partner, Erin is assigned to work with Pigl van Höten on a case that Aizyk is already on for a civilian, even if the two do seem unconnected.

05 – A New Ball Game
Benning PD brings Aizyk and Arelia in as consultants on the murder of two high-school basketball players.

06 – The Phoenix
A man thought to be dead — and locked up in the morgue — is found dead at other various places all over the city in the course of a week. However, there is only one body. When the same body is found dead in front of the Aizyk Finds office, things really get confusing.

07 – I Murdered a Man
When Aizyk is framed for the murder of a cop, it is up to Arelia and Erin to find the real killer.

08 – Outed
Aizyk has too much on his plate between consulting with the police on the murder of a top C.I., working two separate civilian cases, and an assassin trying to collect the $200,000 bounty on his head. Not to mention that someone has revealed his secret to the police.

09 – Day and Night
When Aizyk is found in a trance-like state during a high-profile case, Arelia must look after him and help the the police close the case.

10 – Secrets and Showdowns
After awakening from his trance, Aizyk is pulled into something even bigger when a serial killer calls him out specifically.

I’m going to post some information on Aizyk now. I’ll be elaborating into some of the stuff that isn’t explained completely in the first issue(which will be released later this year), and that I don’t expect to fully explain at all in the series.

Facebook cover advertising Aizyk.

Seasons? Issues?
Okay, it’s a mini novel right? Yep. So why am I calling it seasons, each story being an issue? Let’s start with the original idea. I wanted Aizyk to be a web series, but I don’t have the equipment or resources or actors in order to film it. So, what’s the next best thing in storytelling? A written story, of course! But, since it was a series idea, I couldn’t really fit all of it into one book with one central plot, so I decided I’d do each idea as an issue, basically an episode. Each issue will be it’s own short story continuing from the point the last one ended much in the way a TV show would. I’m using the term “season” because I want to. Plus, if these were filmed instead of written, the first ten issues would be Season 1, so they will still be Season 1. I hope that explains it.

Aizyk’s Ability
Okay, so on to Aizyk Jones and his ability. What is it? I’ve already said that he is a private detective that can see the final moments of the deceased, but what does that entail, and how does it work?

Aizyk can see brainwaves around all of us, in the form of a light glow. If we are alive, the color of the glow represents our mood(of course, this really won’t be used very largely in the series). If we are dead, the glow is gray. Once our glow turns gray, the brainwaves are active for about a week. After that, we are unreadable. However, within that first week after death, Aizyk is able to pick up on those brainwaves and translate them, as he says, into memories that he can see. When he does this, he relives our last memories alive through our eyes. He is unable to do anything within the memory, but he is able to use this to determine a cause of death when it is unclear to the police what said cause might be.

Some might say Aizyk is psychic, but don’t ever tell him that. He prefers a scientific explanation, even if science doesn’t know about him. Science would say that his mind has tuned itself to focus on brainwaves, using his eyes as a receiver much the way a radio tunes itself into radio waves using the antenna to pick them up. Of course, his mind is much more “high tech” than a radio, and definitely more impressive.

The Secret
No one knows Aizyk’s secret other than Arelia Romain, who also happens to be his partner in his private detective firm, Aizyk Finds. An issue later in season 1 will explain why and how she came to know about it, so I won’t elaborate here.

While she may know, he doesn’t want anyone else to know it. He even goes to every length he can imagine to prevent the police from finding out about it, and refuses to tell his sister. Though, in issue one, he does talk about brainwaves to his sister’s husband, Daniel. He doesn’t want to tell him the secret, but Aizyk does need information that Daniel has, namely because Daniel is a scientist in the field of the human mind(and a few others, too).
