El Presidente de la Autoridad Nacional Palestina Mahmud Abbas anunció a la conducción de Al Fatah que no tiene intensiones de postularse para una nueva cadencia presidencial.
Fuentes en ése partido político palestino describieron al líder como “un hombre vencido y frustrado” y principalmente desilusionado por las posiciones estadounidenses respecto al no congelamiento de las construcciones en los asentamientos por parte de Israel.
En una entrevista que ofreció ésta semana a la Televisión Al Arabía, Abbas insinuó ésa posibilidad: “Puede leer entre las líneas. Hasta ahora no lo anuncié pero ello es relevante al día de hoy y no sé cuál será mi posición dentro de una semana”, dijio a la entrevistadora.
Pero concretamente Al Fatah no tiene otro candidato al cargo presidencial, de modo que se estima que el anuncio tiene sólo por objeto presionar a Washington para que modifique sus posiciones.
Además, Abbas habló por teléfono con el Presidente de Israel, Shimon Peres y ambos dirigentes dialogaron sobre el tema de la reanudación de las negociaciones de paz.
Por su parte, el negociador palestino Saeb Erekat dice que es probable que la solución de “dos estados para dos pueblos” no séa ya viable y séa necesario buscar la solución de “un estado para todos sus ciudadanos”, ó séa un estado judéo-palestino.

I ett uttalande, som du kan läsa här, säger den nybildade organisationen Socialdemokratiska Israelvänner (SIV) följande:

Vi vill att socialdemokratin i så väl Sverige som internationellt måste intensifiera sitt stöd för de progressiva krafterna i Israel och Palestina. Utvecklingen med en växande ultrahöger i Israel och extremister i Palestina är inte till fördel för varken försoning eller fred.

Nu är det ju en smaksak vad som ska anses progressivt, men några progressiva krafter i Palestina som söker försoning och fred med Israel, ja det finns knappast. Alla vill de utplåna Israel: al-Fatah, PFLP, och Hamas är bara några exempel. Och PLO har ännu inte utkommit med någon reviderad version av sitt program, som ursprungligen (fortfarande?) krävde Israels utplåning. Mahmoud Abbas, ledare för al-Fatah, uppställde nyligen som en förutsättning för fred att Israel skulle överge sin huvudstad Jerusalem samt accepterar inte att Israel kallar sig en judisk stat.

Som sagt, progressiva krafter är svåra att finna. Ingen av de nu nämnda rörelserna kan rimligen räknas som progressiv.

Dessutom har vi Iran och Hisbollah som verkar i samma riktning: Israel ska bort.

Icke desto mindre får man önska socialdemokraterna lycka till, och hoppas att deras strävan att hitta någon progressiv kraft att stödja inte skall vara förgäves. Det borde väl finnas någon palestinsk rörelse som inte kräver att Israel ska utplånas, som man kunde stödja. Men jag känner inte till någon.

Enligt Jerusalem Post sade den palestinske “presidenten” Mahmoud Abbas idag, att “det inte kommer att bli någon fred förrän ockupationen av Jerusalem upphör”.

Eftersom Israel naturligtvis inte någonsin kommer att överge sin huvudstad Jerusalem, något som Abbas naturligtvis måste vara mycket väl medveten om, måste slutsatsen av hans resonemang bli den vanliga slutsatsen: Mahmoud Abbas vill inte ha fred med Israel. Någonsin. Den uppfattningen delar han med den organisation vars ledare han är, nämligen al-Fatah, men även med Hamas, Hisbollah, PFLP och Iran för att ta några exempel.

Låt oss hoppas att president Obama, Carl Bildt m. fl. till slut börjar lyssna på vad palestiniernas politiska företrädare säger och menar, och tar intryck av det.

Göteborgs-Posten menade igår att Obama var mer lyssnande än president Bush. Men lyssnandet verkar vara väldigt selektivt. Jag är ganska säker på att just detta uttalande av Abbas, ja det kommer vare sig Obama eller Bildt att låtsas om. Man hör det man vill höra …

Berlin 1989 – Palestine?

Una delle tante scritte che è possibile notare subito dopo aver passato uno dei numerosi Checkpoint che affollano tutto il territorio palestinese e parte di Gerusalemme, scolpita proprio davanti agli occhi di chi oltrepassa quella “Linea verde”, che un tempo doveva tracciare il confine del territorio palestinese. Ormai è diventato il simbolo della vergogna, oltraggio alla dignità di ogni uomo e di ciascuna “Carta Fondamentale dei Diritti dell’uomo” stipulata negli ultimi secoli. Per gli israeliani è uno “strumento di sicurezza”, grazie al quale negli ultimi anni sono diminuiti gli attentati, per i palestinesi invece quel muro simboleggia la loro presunta “inferiorità” rispetto ad un’altra razza; uno di loro mi ha confidato che vorrebbe svegliarsi un giorno, aprire la finestra e non vedere più quello scempio che impedisce l’accesso per i palestinesi a qualsiasi città israeliana se non si è muniti di uno speciale permesso, e solo dopo un’opportuna registrazione delle impronte digitali. Un’altra palestinese cristiana di Bayt Sahur si commuoveva raccontandomi di quanta invidia prova vedendo i pellegrini di tutto il mondo che vanno a pregare in Terra Santa e per lei, che ci vive, è assolutamente impossibile visitare o pregare a Gerusalemme.

La storia e la geografia tutte ci insegnano che dove si affermano squilibri economici, come nel caso palestinese la cui economia è tuttora ancorata a quella israeliana, si attivano una serie di tensioni politiche e sociali; il muro, infatti, impedisce una libera circolazione e alimenta per contro il consenso verso le frange dell’estremismo più intransigente ed è di questo che Hamas si nutre, almeno nella striscia di Gaza. Al mio arrivo a Betlemme l’impatto è stato forte, ritrovandomi davanti agli occhi una città circondata da militari, uomini armati e soldati; mi è stato spiegato che la forte presenza della polizia palestinese era dovuta al Congresso di Al Fatah per decretare il nuovo leader. Tra i favoriti figuravano: Mohammed Dahlan, ex “ras” di Gaza, avversario di Arafat con molti legami con Israele poi posto come possibile successore del riconfermato Mahmud Abbas; l’altro concorrente, l’ex premier Ahmed Qureia, è stato sconfessato a causa del suo sfacciato arricchimento con la vendita di cemento usato da Israele nella costruzione degli insediamenti, mentre Marwan Barghuti incarcerato da Israele, eletto al Comitato centrale, resta il più popolare leader di Al Fatah. Quando chiedi ai palestinesi cosa ne pensano di Al Fatah, rimani perplesso per la divisione netta fra gli oppositori, che lamentano il fatto che Al Fatah in realtà continua ad arricchirsi senza far nulla, e i fiancheggiatori a cui piace il riconfermato leader, che credono che in questi ultimi decenni tanto è cambiato, sia a Betlemme che a Jenin, due città famose per la incredibile resistenza durante le due “intifada” contro i soldati israeliani.

Ciò che si percepisce palesemente tuttavia, è la paura degli israeliani, basta vivere almeno una volta l’avventura di prendere un aereo da Tel Aviv, e i controlli/interrogatori paradossali che si è costretti ad assistere, che ricordano alcune scene dei film che raccontano l’Olocausto. Ciò che realmente è sconvolgente ai controlli aeroportuali, è quel numero (da 1 a 6) che ti affibbiano dopo un interrogatorio, che decreta il tuo grado di pericolosità stabilito dall’umore più o meno storto di chi ti giudica in quel momento; questo adesivo viene appeso ovunque, te lo ritrovi pure addosso come uno dei tanti segni distintivi che contraddistingueva ciascun ebreo nei campi di concentramento. I palestinesi tuttavia sono ormai avvezzi a questo tipo di trattamento di sfavore, basta osservare come guardano i turisti ai checkpoint, quando loro sono costretti ad attendere file estenuanti per uscire da Betlemme e invece i turisti, per il semplice fatto che sono “turisti” hanno un passaggio dedicato. Fintanto che ci sarà un filo di speranza, si continueranno a fare summit di Al Fatath per cercare di creare uno Stato palestinese e uno israeliano; uno stato unico sarebbe la scelta logica, lo pensano anche i palestinesi, ma sono altrettanto consapevoli che gli israeliani, una soluzione del genere non la accetteranno mai, dato che per come stanno le cose adesso scaturirebbe una vera e propria guerra civile e quel territorio non è più in grado di sostenere una nuova Intifada.

Nonostante la profonda crisi Fatah è riuscita a tenere il suo congresso, dopo 20 anni. Lo scontro tra vecchia e nuova guardia. La rendita di posizione di essere l’unico movimento laico palestinese con cui dialogare

«La pace è una nostra scelta, la resistenza un nostro diritto», sono queste le parole con le quali il 4 agosto scorso il presidente dell’Autorità palestinese Abu Mazen ha inaugurato il tanto atteso sesto congresso di al-Fatah. Il congresso, che si è tenuto a Betlemme, è stato un vero e proprio evento storico, considerando che ci sono voluti vent’anni al partito che fu di Arafat per tornare a sedersi attorno a un tavolo per ricucire i dissidi interni e risolvere la sua crisi di credibilità. Una crisi diventata sempre più esplosiva soprattutto dopo la vittoria elettorale di Hamas del 2006 ed il conseguente colpo di stato del 2007, con il quale il movimento ha preso il potere sulla striscia di Gaza, spaccando in due la realtà palestinese.

La frattura interna ad al-Fatah è tanto generazionale quanto politica. Da una parte ci sono i cosidetti “giovani turchi”, i rivoluzionari, dall’altra i vecchi militanti. Nel corso del tempo il gruppo dei giovani, guidati da Marwan Barghouti, ha cercato di rinnovare la leadership con elezioni democratiche, ma la vecchia guardia, rappresentata dopo la morte di Arafat da Abu Mazen si è opposta.

Anche se il confronto tra vecchia e nuova generazione è stata la chiave del congresso, Abu Mazen ha dovuto anche approfittare dei riflettori che erano puntati sull’avvenimento per rilanciare la sua immagine, quella di un presidente dimezzato la cui autorità è stata quotidianamente messa in discussione, e quella sempre più rovinata del movimento da lui guidato.

Per rispondere a chi descriveva Fatah come un partito corrotto e controllato da Stati Uniti, Europa ed Israele, nella bozza di risoluzione presentata alla conferenza Abu Mazen ha quindi cercato di evidenziare il suo lato duro, mostrandosi più intransigente nei confronti d’Israele. D’altra parte però, per rendere il partito presentabile alla comunità internazionale, nella bozza era anche scritto che la resistenza armata sarebbe stata sostituita, salvo casi estremi, dalla disobbedienza civile.

Seguendo con interesse l’avvenimento, erano soprattutto gli Stati Uniti a volere che al-Fatah diventasse un partito più unito, sperando che a Betlemme si potesse legittimare la leadership del movimento palestinese più laico in vista della ripresa dei colloqui di pace.

Il presidente Obama sa bene che provare a fare la pace con i palestinesi divisi, e per di più con il suo principale partito in perenne crisi di identità, non sarebbe mai possibile. Contemporaneamente, soprattutto tra i palestinesi, c’era però chi temeva che qualora si fosse affermata la linea dura, al-Fatah avrebbe ignorato quasi totalmente Hamas, movimento con il quale sarebbe meglio -dicono questi- provare a riaprire il dialogo. Infine c’era anche chi, velatamente, sperava in un’ulteriore indebolimento di al-Fatah. I falchi di Tel Aviv temevano la creazione di una formazione politica più vitale e speravano quindi che dal congresso uscisse un partito screditato e incapace di farsi portavoce della causa nazionale.

Il congresso doveva durare tre giorni, ma le discussioni sui temi che per vent’anni erano stati accantonati hanno rallentato i lavori, durati alla fine un’intera settimana e terminati con l’elezione dei nuovi membri del Comitato centrale e del Consiglio rivoluzionario del movimento. Già dal primo giorno sono emerse le profonde divisioni tra la vecchia e la nuova guardia del movimento. È stato un susseguirsi di delegati che hanno criticato la leadership del presidente Abu Mazen.

I vecchi hanno resistito fino all’ultimo, per non perdere il loro ruolo e i privilegi connessi, ma hanno dovuto, per la maggior parte, cedere le armi: nel nuovo comitato centrale importanti figure sono state escluse. Primo fra gli sconfitti è Ahmed Qrea, alias Abu Ala, l’ex premier che aveva tentato di contrapporsi a Abu Mazen alleandosi alla vecchia guardia.

Il rinnovamento di al-Fatah è avvenuto quindi nella continuità e questo è stato confermato dalla rielezione, praticamente all’unanimità, di Abu Mazen come presidente del partito. Alla fine l’erede di Abu Ammar è stato confermato alla guida del movimento, impegnandosi a iniziare una nuova epoca che scongiuri il definitivo scollamento dei vertici del partito con una base sempre più distante. Un rinnovamento che non potrà essere il grigio Abbas a portare avanti, ma – se non è troppo tardi – un personaggio come Marwan Barghouti, a suo tempo considerato il delfino di Yasser Arafat e attualmente segretario generale del partito in Cisgiordania, eletto nell’esecutivo del movimento.

Barghouti, uno della nuova generazione, è ancora in carcere a scontare l’ergastolo che nel 2004 Israele gli ha inflitto. La sua detenzione ha contribuito ad alimentarne la popolarità tra i palestinesi che lo considerano il loro Mandela. A differenza di Abbas, il cinquantenne Barghouti è dunque una figura carismatica. Non fa parte del cosiddetto gruppo dei tunisini, coloro che avevano seguito Arafat nelle peregrinazioni della leadership in esilio dell’Organizzazione per la liberazione della Palestina.

La sua storia s’intreccia piuttosto con le intifada e le vicende dei militanti e dirigenti che da vent’anni a questa parte entrano ed escono dalle galere israeliane. Aveva solo quindici anni quando entrò in al-Fatah e dopo l’inizio della seconda intifada fondò le brigate dei martiri di al-Aqsa, il braccio militante di al-Fatah. Da quando nel 2004 è finito nuovamente dietro le sbarre ha continuato la sua attività politica e nel 2006 è diventato il deus ex machina del “documento dei prigionieri”. Come suo promotore ha riconosciuto la presenza di uno stato israeliano accanto alla terra dei palestinesi sui confini del 1967. Inoltre, dopo la vittoria elettorale di Hamas, ha cercato di accorciare le distanze tra questo movimento e al-Fatah. A Betlemme Barghouti si è presentato come l’uomo ponte, una nuova leva capace di fare da tramite tra la vecchia guardia e l’ala militare, tra la gente e i vertici di partito. Inoltre, sarebbe l’uomo capace di parlare con Hamas, guidandolo verso il pragmatismo e salvandolo dall’isolamento internazionale.

La continuità del rinnovamento di al-Fatah si rispecchia anche nella linea politica che è stata decisa a Betlemme. Anche se è stato riconosciuto come diritto inalienabile il ricorso alla lotta armata contro l’occupazione israeliana qualora la diplomazia dovesse fallire, la decisione principale è stata quella di riconfermare la scelta negoziale. La ripresa delle trattative resta comunque vincolata al blocco totale degli insediamenti da parte israeliana. Per la questione dei rifugiati si auspica una soluzione equa e concordata, mentre sul dossier Gerusalemme non si è pronti a cedere nulla e si rivendica la sovranità palestinese sulla città, senza far distinzione tra est e ovest.

Certamente a questo congresso non vi è stata alcuna svolta storica, ma Abu Mazen è riuscito a smentire coloro che ritenevano che al-Fatah fosse in una crisi irresistibile e che ogni tentativo di rivitalizzarla fosse destinato al fallimento..

one of the most important and intriguing, though lesser known provisions of the Interim Agreement lies – probably deliberately – hidden deep in the seventh subparagraph of the Final Clauses (Article XXXI).

According to this provision, “Neither side shall initiate or take any step that will change the status of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip pending the outcome of the permanent-status negotiations.”

Clearly this vital provision places a reciprocal and parallel obligation on each of the parties – the PLO and Israel – not to unilaterally alter the status of the territories until such change is mutually agreed upon. The intention of the parties during the negotiations was clear – the Palestinian side will not declare a unilateral state, and the Israelis will not declare annexation.

IT WOULD be interesting to inquire whether the advisers of Prime Minister Fayad brought this very basic provision to his attention prior to the publication of his plan.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad had already rejected Fayyad’s plan to build a Palestinian state in two years.

In an effort to curtail unauthorized gun ownership, Fayad and PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas have declared their intention to take legal action against armed gangs. “There is no doubt that we have the right to resist, but we must do this in an organized fashion and we must do away with the chaos,” Fayad explained.

However, Fayad aides said that the prime minister intends to deal with the issue of armed gangs through dialogue and not by engaging in a violent confrontation with them.

So, more or less, everything remains the same, doesn’t it?

The Palestinian Constitution “guarantees freedom of religion”, while stating that Islam is the official religion and Shariah Law one of the sources of legislation”, “so any Muslim who converts to other faith must be killed”. “Western leaders say that Palestine is moving to a democratic state”.

Oh, yeah, don’t make me laugh!!! This is called religious cleansing in my language. If a democracy is based on the equality of all people under the law and the rule of law, the mere mention of Shariah Law as one the sources of legislation ends with that “democracy”. But of course, that’s what exists nowadays in Iraq and Afghanistan, so in the end, the conclusion must be that Western leaders are not supporting real democracy, but some sort of imitation.

«Io, ebreo israeliano e contro l’apartheid»

«Sono un palestinese di stirpe ebraica, antisionista, cittadino dello stato di apartheid di Israele nonchè della Gran Bretagna». Mette subito le cose in chiaro il professor Uri Davis, docente di
filosofia all’università palestinese al Quds, eletto la scorsa settimana al Consiglio rivoluzionario di Fatah, l’organo legislativo del movimento guidato dal presidente dell’Anp Abu Mazen.

Il suo ingresso ai vertici di Fatah ha fatto sensazione in Israele e nel resto del mondo ma non tra i palestinesi dove Davis è conosciuto da oltre trent’anni, da quando Abu Jihad (Khalil Wazir), uno dei più popolari comandanti militari dell’Olp, lo nominò suo rappresentante a Londra. Nato a Gerusalemme in una famiglia di ebrei sionisti immigrati dall’Europa negli anni Trenta, è stato uno dei primi obiettori totali di coscienza in Israele e un sostenitore della creazione di un unico Stato democratico, per palestinesi ed ebrei, nel territorio storico della Palestina. Davis non è l’unico israeliano ad aver raggiunto posizioni di responsabilità ai vertici di Fatah. In passato Ilan Halevi ha fatto parte del movimento a Parigi, mentre un rabbino antisionista, Moshe Hirsch, fu scelto nel 1994 dal presidente scomparso Yasser Arafat come ministro per le questioni ebraiche. Professor Davis che significa per i palestinesi la sua elezione nel Consiglio rivoluzionario di Fatah. Prima di parlare della mia elezione, tengo a dire che la convocazione dopo 20 anni del congresso di Fatah rappresenta l’evento più significativo nella politica palestinese di questi ultimi anni. Il movimento Fatah non si è spaccato, al contrario oggi è più unito, più compatto, pronto ad affrontare le sfide durissime che pone
l’occupazione israeliana. Naturalmente mi auguro che il mio ingresso nel Consiglio rivoluzionario si riveli positivo per la causa palestinese. Proverò a dare il mio contributo soprattutto nello sviluppo delle relazioni internazionali tra Fatah e il resto del mondo. Purtroppo in questi ultimi anni i palestinesi, non solo Fatah, hanno messo in secondo piano il ruolo ed il peso della solidarietà internazionale che, al contrario, ritengo fondamentale per bloccare il progetto di apartheid nei Territori occupati portato avanti
dall’establishment israeliano. Ha fiducia in questa leadership uscita dal congresso di Fatah. Non conosco gran parte dei nuovi eletti nel Comitato centrale e nel Consiglio rivoluzionario e quindi avrò bisogno di un po’ di tempo per farmi una idea. So che tra i palestinesi e gli attivisti di Fatah non pochi sono perplessi ma il rinnovamento, a mio avviso, è realmente avvenuto. Alcune decisioni importanti per la difesa dei diritti del popolo palestinese sono state inseriti nel programma del movimento, come il diritto ad opporsi con tutti i mezzi legali all’occupazione. In Israele lei viene accusato di sostenere il diritto alla resistenza armata riaffermato dal congresso da Fatah. La disinformazione purtroppo è dilagante. Al-Fatah non fa appello alla lotta armata, ma rileva che quella è una opzione legittima per i popoli sottoposti ad occupazione militare e a pulizia etnica. Sono le stesse leggi internazionali a prevedere una resistenza armata quando un popolo è in lotta per la libertà. Come è stata presa in Israele la sua elezione nel Consiglio rivoluzionario di Fatah. Le reazioni sono state diverse. Nei circoli antisionisti che sostengono i diritti dei palestinesi, tanti si sono congratulati, mentre il cittadino comune e i mezzi d’informazione hanno commentato con parole dure la mia elezione. La cosa non mi sorprende perchè gli israeliani sono controllati e indottrinati da un sistema che non lascia la possibilità di riflettere all’individuo, che fa credere alla gente ciò che vuole. Auspico agli israeliani di abbandonare la difesa ad oltranza delle politiche del loro Stato e di prendere coscienza del progetto, sempre più evidente, di apartheid a danno del popolo palestinese. Un progetto di
segregazione razziale per certi aspetti peggiore di quello sudafricano abbattuto negli anni passati.

De svenska socialdemokraternas systerparti Fatah har vid sin pågående kongress gjort detta uttalande. Det sägs att staden ska “återlämnas” till “palestinierna”, annars kan fredssamtal inte ske. Detta krav är inte förhandlingsbart, sägs det.

Men palestinierna har aldrig innehaft staden. Den tillhörde judarna för länge sedan, och på senare tid det osmanska riket samt förvaltades av Storbritannien och ockuperades av Jordanien. Det bor visserligen många araber i Jerusalem, araber som någon gång på 1960-talet började kalla sig för palestinier, men även många judar. Jerusalem har aldrig tillhört någon nu existerande arabstat. Svårt alltså, att lämna tillbaka något till någon som aldrig ägt det.

Denna ovillkorliga och icke-förhandlingsbara begäran, som Israel naturligtvis inte kommer att gå med på, är sannolikt ett led i Fatahs strävan att avvisa internationella fredsinitiativ och försvåra genomförandet av västerländsk fred med Israel för att i stället verka för islamistisk fred, som bara kan föreligga mellan muslimska stater. En fred utan Israel, alltså.

Fatahs antisionistiska och antisemitiska syfte är ju just detta: “Den fullständiga befrielsen av Palestina och den ekonomiska, politiska, militära och kulturella elimineringen av den sionistiska ockupations-staten”. Läs här.

Ulf Bjereld skriver på Newsmill om Mona Sahlins resa till Betlehem. Han skriver också att Helle Klein tycker att man ska tala med Hamas.

Att ledaren för Sveriges största parti inte drar sig för att uppträda tillsammans med personer som vill bedriva krig för att utplåna Israel är ingenting mindre än en skandal. Det må finnas “moderata” krafter inom Fatah (ordet betyder seger eller erövring), men flera tecken tyder på att den hårda kärnan inom de flesta palestinska politiska rörelser har och kommer att ha Israels utplåning på agendan så som alltid. Som en medarbetare till “president” Mahmoud Abbas nyligen uttryckte saken: “Fatah kommer aldrig att erkänna Israel och kommer aldrig upphöra med att uppmana till väpnad kamp mot Israel”. Läs här.

Klein – och Bjereld – vill dessutom tala med Hamas. Bjereld kallar det att “bryta isoleringen av Hamas”. Men Hamas avvisar kategoriskt i sina stadgar allt tal om “konferenser” som en metod att utplåna Israel. Det är den organisationens enda syfte, och det kommer vare sig Klein eller Bjereld att kunna snacka bort. Hamas är verkligen ingen särskilt isolerad rörelse. I verkligheten har de starka band med sådana islamistiska och antisionistiska rörelser och stater som Muslimska Brödraskapet, Hisbollah och Iran. Islamismen är en totalitär ideologi som i sista hand genom anfallskrig vill införa den islamiska lagen, shari’a, i hela världen.

Vad har ett västerländskt demokratiskt parti, som antagligen fortfarande anser att Israel har rätt att existera, att vinna på att vilja tala med sådana islamistiska extremister? Den tvivelaktiga fördelen av att vinna svenska islamistiska och extremistiska röster i nästa val? Det må gagna sossarnas önskan att vinna nästa val, men det gagnar inte Israels, demokratins och den västerländska rättsuppfattningens överlevnad.

Det gör inte heller socialdemokratiska besök hos Fatah – som Bjereld f.ö. kallar “systerparti” och då just till socialdemokraterna!

Här ett exempel på vad som kanske utgör sossarnas extremistiska “hårda kärna”.

Jag läser dessutom här att Carl Bildt är oroad, dock inte över att Mona Sahlin fraterniserar med Fatah, utan över bristen på fredsprocess. Men vems verkar skulden vara? Igår protesterade Bildt, dock inte mot att Fatah vill utplåna Israel i väpnad kamp, utan över att Israel avhyste illegala palestinska bosättare. Vi har “kallat upp” Israels ambassadör, skriver han. Israel – syndabock tycks vara mantrat för dagen på UD, och därmed även i EU.

Det säger den israeliske transportministern Yisrael Katz enligt Haaretz.

Dagens Nyheter – bland många andra – återger TT:s rapportering, enligt vilken författaren till det nya programmet, en Nabil Shaat, uppges mena att Fatah nu förbinder sig till fredssamtal och att Fatahs nya program endast ser krig som en “teoretisk möjlighet”. Israel som en judisk stat avvisar man dock fortfarande, och man bör överväga att uppta en strategisk dialog med – Iran! TT tycks referera denna Haaretz-artikel.

Ja krig har ju alltid stått på Fatahs dagordning och kommer tydligen fortfarande att göra det. För inte så länge sedan uttalade en annan Fatah-ledare att Fatah överhuvudtaget inte kommer att erkänna Israel och att krig är rätta sättet att utplåna Israel. Läs här.

Och vilken fred är det man säger sig eftersträva (dvs. möjligen vissa inom Fatah, men tydligen inte alla)? Är det en västerländsk fred med Israel eller en islamistisk fred utan Israel? Enligt islamismen kan ingen fred råda med andra än muslimska länder, nämligen och då är förutsättningen för fred att Israel upphör att existera. Fredssamtal med Fatah kan alltså betyda vad som helst.

Men när Fatah dessutom säger att man vill ha strategiska samtal med den islamistiska regimen i Iran, då ligger slutsatsen nära att det är den islamistiska freden utan Israel som man avser.

I det perspektivet blir krig inte blott en teori, utan en bitter realitet.

Man noterar igen att den svenska socialdemokratiska kristna Broderskapsrörelsen tydligen fäster särskilt avseende vid att underlätta för Fatah att genomföra sina planer, vilka de nu är. Läs här.

Una célula del movimiento islamista Hamas recientemente desarticulada planeaba matar a varios funcionarios de la Autoridad Nacional Palestina (ANP) en Cisjordania, entre ellos el presidente Abu Mazen, aseguraron fuentes del partido Al Fatah citadas por el diario israelí ‘Haaretz’.

El secretario general de la ANP, Tayeb Abdel Rahim, informó el pasado lunes de la detención, en junio, de unos diez miembros de Hamas que supuestamente estaban preparando los asesinatos.

Hamas y Al Fatah están enzarzados en una violenta pugna por el poder, que estalló en 2006 cuando la organización radical islámica ganó inesperadamente las elecciones legislativas palestinas y que alcanzó su clímax un año después, cuando la milicia de Hamas expulsó de la Franja de Gaza a las fuerzas de seguridad leales a Mazen.

El portavoz de Al Fatah, Fami Zarir, declaró que los asesinatos planeados por Hamas tenían por objetivo dar al traste con las conversaciones que se llevan a cabo en El Cairo, bajo la mediación de Egipto, para dirimir el conflicto entre las dos organizaciones palestinas y crear así las condiciones para la celebración de nuevas elecciones en enero próximo.

Of Sand and Land: Women to keep up the struggle (June 4, 2009)

            It is 1968. Syria is undergoing a state of socialism after the humiliating defeat in the war of June 1967.  Aida is forty years old and has so far five kids; the oldest boy is 16.  Aida got lost boarding a bus and the family had hard time locating their mother.  Aida had to confess that she is illiterate and could not read the name of the stop stations.  The eldest boy was angry and refrained to talk to his mother because Aida had given him the impression that she could read.  Actually Aida used to get herself busy in the kitchen when asked about school homework.  One day, one of Aida’s daughters brought her the good news: the women syndicate is opening a school for the grown up illiterate.  A year later, Aida is helping her younger babies with their homework.             The Union of Women in socialist Syria was very active and opening schools and artisan shops all over Syria and encouraging women to learn about their legal rights and responsibilities.  One lady teacher said “The Bedouin women are the brightest.  They are like blank pages needing to be filled.  The Bedouin women come to school with dignity and confidence wearing multilayer of colorful and bright clothes, compared to the drab and plain clothes of urban older illiterate women; the Bedouin women proudly shake the gold bracelets on their forearms.”    

            It is mid July 1967.  Nada is trotted by three urchins, bare footed and oversized blouses.  Nada is heading to the “potable” water truck; a long file of women waiting for their turn.  Nada lives in tent #56, street #7 of a makeshift refugee camp 40 kilometers of Amman.  Nada lived a week ago in a house by the foot of a hill and tended a small garden across from the Jordan River in the town of Bethlehem.  Nada’s husband Kamal is back to Amman for the nth time searching for a job.  The eldest daughter Amina is ten and attending the refugee’s school tent run by refugee instructors.  The eldest son Farid is twelve: Farid is not seeing life in roses; life to Farid will be scarlet red: he is getting military training with the Fedayyins after school.  What was taken by force will be recovered by force: International Diplomacy has proven its efficiency 20 years earlier when Nada’s parents were chased out of her home in Jafa, never to return.

            The Israeli soldiers kicked her door in Bethlehem while sitting for supper.  The neighbor called wolf “they are going to blow the house”; the same kind of “caring” neighbor who called wolf 20 years earlier.  Nada is wearing her gold bracelets on her arm with pride: her husband and parents loved her and she showed her loving pride. It cannot look any poorer around the camp but Nada’s Palestinian robe with golden brocades fits a princess.

            Mounira is a young and fragile looking woman; she is a delicate flower sitting on a oversized couch in a villa in the Capital Amman.  Mounira was chased out of her land in Palestine; her husband has been studying and working in the USA for two years now and is asking her to join him. Mounira is a militant with Al Fatah, the new Palestinian resistance organization in the Diaspora.  During the failed incursion of Israel in the village of Karama on the borders in Jordan in 1969 Mounira and 15 other women fighters and nurses joined the battle when they heard the news on the radio.  The Palestinian fighters could not believe their eyes; the militant women fighters can late but resumed the task of taking care of the wounded and the transport to nearby hospitals.

            Cairo, Egypt 1968. Basna is a young social assistance.  She says: “the emancipation of women in Egypt might have progressed quickly. Our husbands do not consider us vulnerable and need protection but still not as equal.  Marriages are still based on economy: the man wants to know how much the job of his prospective wife will compensate his misery salary.  Many women rent their flat and could enjoy the luxury of not moving in with their mother-in-law.  Men are consulting their wives on important decisions, especially in financial matter.  Thus, as social assiatant I have to figure out courses on how to educate women in handling money and family accounting.  A few years ago, the eldest girl had to sacrifice education for the cadet because of lack of resources.  Many school girls have to supplement university expenses by prostituting with rich people in between courses.

The speech of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on Sunday June 14, was with several surprises, as in previous speeches were denied the possibility of a Palestinian state, in this last speech, he opened the door to the existence of two states, State of the State of Israel and Palestine.

Albeit with several conditions, such as non-existence of an army in the State of Palestine, using the example of Andorra, a European state with anthem, flag, border, head of the government but without an army, and especially the condition is recognition on the part of Palestine from the existence of the State of Israel.

“If we get assurances, we are prepared to accept a demilitarized Palestinian state alongside the Jewish state,” Netanyahu said in a speech this evening at the Bar-Ilan University near Tel Aviv and academic bastion of Zionist nationalist movement.

“Two people lived in peace in the region, with national anthems and flags.”

The Hamas group described as “racist and extremist speech to Benjamin Netanyahu, to see if the authority is governed by the Palestinian group Al Fatah, can join the two existing positions in Palestine, although it is quite difficult, since in the Palestinian Territory there are now fighting between Hamas, which has said it will never recognize a Jewish state, and pronouncing that the Jew should not exist and has called the inquifata and jihat group and that the government with Fatah Mahmoud Abbas at the helm as principal authority in Palestine.

One of the most demanding positions that the Palestinian leadership has to do with the settlers and the expansion of settlements, to which the Israeli government in a way has undertaken not to build more settlements, but has not said anything regarding the expansion existing ones, but we must also recognize that time and has already done so Israel is to withdraw the settlers.

Most important of all this is to see how realistic it may be the existence of the two states of Palestine and Israel, as there is much pain, a lot of hatred through, too many deaths and clashes, entire generations who have lived in war missing their loved ones, these people said today as it must kill all live in peace tomorrow.
There is also group Hamas, who lives in the war on terrorism, could demilitarize ?, these men and women could return to peaceful coexistence and peaceful with its neighbors, even if today is immolate carrying bombs on their bodies.

It is possible that these two states can coexist?

And Arabic is also the matter, the rest of the Arab countries as Jordan, Iran, Iraq and throughout the Arabic League, accepted the existence of the State of Israel.
The support of Barack Obama and his speech about the need for negotiation and the existence of two states: Israel and Palestine, the desirability and economic and political support that you may make several different countries Arab League countries to support this proposal ?.

I wish it was all so easy to say a clean sheet, but in my opinion is impossible when there are groups like Hamas and wing Jews, who never accepted coexisting with each other, and when they knew he could step to reach a good agreement or Israel was making many concessions as some citizens and committed the murder of prime minister Yitzhak Rabin by an Israeli ultraconsevador and with the death of Arafat, who is still in darkness with respect to said it could have been poisoned by being too soft because the Israeli.
